>What is this?
/TG/ DEVELOPED A GAME
IT IS PLAYABLE. IT HAS BEEN PLAYED.
EXPEDITION is a ~1880s era, Jules Verne-inspired retro-futurist, underground blood soaked adventurescape.
It is a Skirmish wargame. Two players with their own expeditions, on a hexgrid map, explore & fight each other for victory and profit.

3 versions of the rules exist, 2 of which have been playtested. The main one is 2e, to be found :
as with maps, tokens and lore resources.

Works for me. The discipline of 4 means he'll probably have to bring some alcohol to stay in the fight, but for a cowboy that's perfectly thematic.

This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want.
This is different than the regular osrg as due to rampant trolling from a handful of bad actors, discussion is impossible.

>This is a second OSRG, seperate from the main osrg thread, where you CAN talk about 2e, retroclones, and any osr content you want.
>Welcome to TODD! This thread is for OPEN discussion of TSR-era Dungeons & Dragons (OD&D, Basic D&D, and AD&D including 2e) and related games, such as retroclones and OSR-adjacent games (OSE, BFRPG, S&W, LotFP, DCC, C&C, etc.).

Lmao this thread literally is just a rerun of /todd/, it's even obvious that it's the same guy seething e.g. >>94463986. Don't you remember how embarrassingly it died the last time? Let it go, kanigga. You lost. Let it go.

Yeah, it's obvious to anybody with half a brain that it's the same "person" (fishfag) behind both /todd/ and this osrg knockoff, since both were attempts to hijack /osrg/, and both are failing in exactly the same way, with zero discussion because nobody actually plays "AD&D" 2e, not even 2etard itself.
>>
>>97287442
You'll note that in one of the old posts linked he also writes "OSRG" instead of /osrg/.

Anyone play it yet? I like the "rustic fantasy" setting. The core rules seem interesting, it has more mechanics and gameplay than most other narrative games. I enjoy that it doesn't have moves or whatever to confine you, you can actually play your character and do whatever you want. It's got enough knobs and options in terms of resolution I feel like it's actually a real game despite having that more story focus vs simulation focus. And I like that the DM has all the traditional power of the DM and there's not like "Fate Points" or something else that gives players control to change stuff.
Thinking I might try a short game for my table, just a few lower powered sessions. It also has good tools for a solo stuff which is interesting.

You can't really, unless you start uploading the finished pages as separate posts to get paid for them as well. Your only hope is to finish the damn thing.
For an example of how long these things take to get finished, p230's WIP was posted on July 1, 2022.

I guess it's technically possible to shift my character towards filling in the arranged marriage. Something like a traditional beauty from wealthy family in order to modernize the shrine / use the family's assets. They'd have to be less chuuni and be more of a popular character probably, but at that point it would be a diet Kurobane character.

I should probably ask about what the other JITE players think in order to find a build that fits the setting, or something others can utilize for their story.
>>
>>97287939
I'm a JITE player, but honestly I don't get why you need to tie your character to whatever happens to Liren. Did I miss something?
>>
>>97287939
That's a bit much, I don't think you need to change the character to fit the marriage to that point, I was dropping it anyway since it makes no sense. I think the chuuni idea fits well with a childhood friend, and makes more sense as a "connection" too. A strangely competent chuuni is a fun idea.
>>97287965
It's part of a discussion started a long time ago by now. The new buils being connected a bit so they help each other. I brought it up in secret hours because I am planning to write properly, and now we're here.
>>
>>97287965
I'm trying to make a JITE build mostly for Liren to have a character to interact with who's just as new as him since I did say I'd try to pick it up again with him.
That's kind of it.
>>
>>97288024
I'd say, maybe go for someone that's a complete opposite, but with similar goals to him so that they work together, but there's a dynamic between the two? I know this sounds like very unspecific advice, but that's a good start, I'd say

Fuck. normalfags. Kill them all. Tabletop and nerd culture becoming the hip thing to do is the worst thing that has happened to this once niche culture.
I work 40 hours a week, play vidya, workout, have to take out parents/grandparents out to eat on holidays and birthdays, and I can meet schedule and play tabletop just fine because this is my hobby and has been my hobby for 20 years. If you truly love something you can make time for it. There is no excuse.

>>
>>97275912
I've noticed this.
I agree with this.
It pisses me off, but I don't know how to confront my friends about it without alienating them.
I don't know why they insist on playing with me every week, but don't seem to care about the hobby like I do. I enjoy learning the rules, figuring out the world, hell, I even like just quietly sitting there reading the books and imagining games that could be. I like roleplaying too.
My group doesn't give a shit. Only one other guy can even be counted on to read the rules, and he's our forever DM. He's taking a break so another guy can run right now, and SURPRISE, he didn't decide to read the rules and figured he's just learn it as he went. Luckily it's OSRS shit so the rules are usually the same, but it's definitely a huge annoyance when he references 5e D&D concepts that aren't supposed to exist.

Enforcers seems to be an aesthetic choice from what I've experienced so far. Especially if they're people coming from 40K. Its hard to break out of bolt guns and uniforms I guess.
>>
>>97286385

It's the latter. They don't care about fluff, they just are going off of aesthetics. Players don't want to read a source book. They want to watch yt videos of sweet lore and then beat up the other players with their cops.

Welcome to /wbg/, the thread for the discussion of in-progress settings for traditional games.

Here is where you go to present and develop the details of your worlds such as lore, factions, magic and ecosystems. You can also post maps for your settings, as well as any relevant art. >Realistically what would life in a world of superheroes where your ability is defined by your bloodline be like?
Well, for a start, bloodline powers means secret identities do fuck all unless your entire family tree keeps that shit secret, so masks are out.

Also means supervillains would be pretty rare for the same reason. You aren't gonna have people start trying to crime when their powers are basically a fingerprint unless they're immediately willing to live on the run. There's a difference between running after you get caught and running in the first place and people willing to do A aren't necessarily going to be willing to do B.
