It was a complete shitshow, neither Luke nor Han had thought to plan out any kind of plan of egress from the prison levels and were… basically stuck in a corner with an ever-increasing number of angry stormtroopers showing up to make the rescuers position even worse. Frankly dropping into an oversized dumpster with some thing lurking inside was actually still a significant improvement, though I will concede that this is more a testimony to just how shit the rescue was going up to that point, but still.

And as another anon pointed out, one should remember to not be too harsh on Luke, it was his first day after all.

The fast damage resolution rules work out the same as the normal ones so long as you aren't dealing 1d damage, since that case has flat probabilities. In both cases, you repeat a single attack a number of times, the only difference is that you're assuming all hits rolled the same damage (and thus have the same penetrating damage). You are not multiplying the raw damage in a single blow, you're multiplying the result of DR being substracted from a single hit.
Not accounting for ablation rules, and going with DR 3, you'd be dealing on average 100 times 0.5 injury (so 100 because any penetrating damage deals at least 1 HP of injury), against 347 for 100d.

No it's not, it has been out of BETA for many months now and is soon to be launched next mouth. People have had half a year to play this format and it's exposing the fundamental problems that plague the game right now, which are huge class disparities and an entire library of cards that have been designed exclusively for limited play. The likelihood of them magically balancing an entire format with one halfassed reprint set is highly unrealistic. Their fundamental approach to designing the game has been from the perspective of limited play,
for over half a decade they have shown themselves incapable of maintaining tight control of any other format they've proposed. Many classes are in a sorry state of design as it is, merely ignoring majestics and legendaries isn't going to make this critical misunderstanding of balance go away.

LSS is double dipping with compendium so hard they collapsed the value of everything. If SAGE and new players are so important to them, why make it a skeezy fomo collectors chase set? Why not release an entire set with zero high rarity cards and make it evergreen product to keep onboarding new players? It's because LSS can't help themselves, they want to court high volume buyers while saying they care about newbies.

Oh and if you think PENis God then wait till you hear this; it's as critically underprinted as High Seas was. Every rip and shipper testicle-wart is going to open up palettes of this stuff, keep the highly rare birds and dump the rest of the chickies in the nugget grinder. Meanwhile, actual LGS are limiting customers in store to one box per person. But remember "this is the future of Flesh and Blood."

Even if you wanted to use D&D for this for some reason, you could pretty safely just remove heavy armor, and then make it so any class with proficiency in heavy armor can use Strength in place of Dex when calculating AC for medium armor along with getting the Defense fighting style for free.

Nothing else about the game really changes as a result. Certainly nothing that meaningfully changes the balance of the game anyway.

There are many folks who only know D&D and therefore want to use it for everything.
Runequest and Glorantha are an excellent choice if you want to play in *a* bronze age setting, but if you want to create your own, GURPS or Mythras might be a better choice, since Runequest is extremely tied to Glorantha in its current form (and mostly Dragon Pass and Prax).
There's also Jackals as an explicitely Bronze Age game which is also BRP based, just like RuneQuest and Mythras.
Hyboria, Barsaive and Athas also have strong Bronze Age vibes.

Thats something I always forget to talk about. If your character's back is to the viewer DONT describe what the viewer cant see. Like when I prompt the Dreaming King I make him shirtless, but if viewed from the back, it turns his cloak/cape into a kind of scarf to show his back, because the AI is trying to show that he's shirtless. Sometimes its better to throw out like, half the character prompt & just use terms like "figure" so it doesnt focus too much on details. Only use words that you want to see & you can toss the rest. Even linking verbs are unneeded half the time. Use caveman speak/stream of consciousness unless you need more precision.

The prototype version was created through a systematic even distribution of effects (board vectors). The top-down level themes (technology, psi, opposition.... etc) were determined by general category associations i was able to assign to the meme selections.

The combination of these, in addition to the strict definition of the color pie made the assignment of some effects non-optimally coherent with the card image. It's definitely best for a card effect to match the feel of the image that is associated with it.

I may experiment with completely removing the top-level themes, and assign effects to cards based on what it looks like they would do - this will break the top level themes, but the playing of the cards will feel a lot more intuitive. I also think this is the best utilization of the unique color pie system in this game.

I will be recycling many of the card images I selected from 2024, but also I think it will be cool, from an experimental art perspective, to just browse 4chan and if I see a cool image, immediately assign it an effect it looks like it does in game, and then let elements of that effect determine the card's color. Over time it will be cool to see what kind of emergent game comes from this, sort of like picking flowers while walking down the sidewalk (zeitgeist), and seeing how they arrange themselves naturally.

Not sure how this will end up, but I already tried the one extreme of systematically assigning and distributing effects, I think it will be cool to try it from the other direction, and see what emerges.

I will be doing this with the starter decks, which will also have the new card design. The existing cards are compatible with the new rules and design changes, the main difference is that when you fren cards together, you only add the bottom card effect to the composite card.

I suppose disposing of the higher-level categories will distinguish the game from Pokémon, Yugioh and MTG, and focus the gameplay on the interactions between strings of cards.
But it does serve the purpose of creating a template for effects that have broad interactions with shit like "field cards", so you should be sure that you don't wanna be leaning into that sorta "themed deck" type play before you make such a change, imo.

Still, I suppose you could categorize memes however you like, by origin, political alignment or lack thereof, or recurring characters.

Question is; do you want to utterly discard the idea of "Suit" type effects?
