>>97389080i probably shouldn't be shocked you guys aren't experts on female biology but do you really think the only way to not have a cycle is to physically remove someone's ovaries, also the male ones are presumably sterile too it's not like it would even matter
>>97386349>Appeal to triviality >Using "meltie"Faggot leftist detected. Fuck off to reddit.
https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/kcuvmezh/new-custodes-your-questions-answered/So now that they will retcon any faction if enough real world social political pressure is applied, what's the point in taking this hobby seriously anymore if GW themselves aren't willing to be internally consistent but bend instantly when the rainbow squad wants it's not diversity quota filled?
How would you humanize enemy mooks even if the players have to put them down at the end of day? How do you make it so that players leaving piles of corpses in their wake is not a trivial matter?
They say only Good can create, whereas Evil is sterile. Tolkien certainly does, with Morgoth being unable to make things himself, so perverts Elves to Orcs for his armies. But I think this gets it entirely backwards; it’s Good that just mutates and twists, and it’s Evil that teems with fecundity.
>>97388951>They sayThat's actually a specific school of thought within christianity. I forget the name of the doctrine.>it’s Good that just mutates and twists, and it’s Evil that teems with fecundity. If we look to Antiquity before philosemitic moralfaggery began, the Indo-European views seem to align on the gods (ie. "order", rather than "good") transforming the existing matter (think of titans like Gaia, literally the earth, who is the source of many things we might call evil if we were so inclined), and the anti-gods (giants, ettins, etc., who are certainly antagonistic to both gods and men) devouring that which the gods create and returning it to its base matter. In essence, the gods (and with them, man) domesticate the savage nature and keep the natural forces of entropy at bay.So that's certainy pretty close.
>>97384224If I want to humanize my mooks I have them not necessarily being killed when downed. I describe them screaming in pain, begging or praying as the life slowly leaves their bodies. If the players want to kill them they have to say that they execute the fallen. Every time. Now I don't always describe the suffering of downed enemies. After the first few sessions the players get the gist of it and automatically assume what is happening after a fight. It's pretty effective.
>>97388896turns out I don't care about your forgiveness all that muchalso I didn't read the books in English
>>97384224If the focus of the game is cutting down mooks, humanizing them is counter-intuitive. >How do I eat nothing but cookies and ice cream, but never put on weight? You don't. There needs to be other steps involved, like exercising enough to offset the cookies and ice cream, which takes far more time and effort. You can't have players cutting down countless mooks and then shift even more focus to having them feel bad about each and every man they killed, because the effort required would far outweigh the time spent playing the game where you kill tons of mooks.

Just killed some texas chainsaw massacre looking freak. Bullets didn't do much more than a punch to him, hitting him with my car stunned him but not much else, but he had this big fucky suit of metal armor, like Ned Kelly's retarded cousin, and I tricked his dumb ass into stabbing a fusebox with that rusted knife of his and it fried him. Weird.

Chopped the body up and put it in the furnace, full blast. My ancestor once dealt with a man who came back from a bloody mess, but burning the body to a crisp kept him from coming back for good. Not sure if this guy was the same but he's finished. Wasn't using a handle earlier, will do so now for ease of identifying my posts.

Is there a reason we have so few games with a Gothic or Victorian inspired setting but a trillion rehashes of medieval fantasy, science-fiction or some eastern setting with katanas?
>>97388379You need to get out of your echo chamber. There's a lot of interest in victorian fashion, subcultures, literature and personalities which you can find in reenactment channels on youtube
>>97388146It's harder and isn't a world. The Victorian period is really a specific class in a specific place. It requires familiarity with a lot of social mores you've never experienced, and relies on specific technologies and politics. It's harder to understand and has less room for adventure. Also they're not anywhere close to the same thing. I assume you mean the gothic literary period, which starts in the century prior to the Victorian period and is more Romantic. You probably misinterpret it as being based on authors like Poe, but it's not. It's based on authors like Walpole and Ratcliff, who you've probably never read. Who the hell even knows Romance of the Forest or the Italian, which are the two greatest works of gothic fiction and possibly two of the best English-language novels ever written? They've completely fallen outa public consciousness. But who hasn't seen robin hood and king arthur cartoons? You grew up knowing what a medieval fantasy romp looks like. You've never even heard of the best gothic novels ever written.
>>97388508They keep putting out printings of the core book and it's gotten 2 to 3 books released per year since in launched in 2018. You might not like the game, but somebody is playing it, and it's incredibly well supported.

>>97388146>>97388308>>97388325>>97388379>Gothic SettingWhy do people who have never read Gothic Literature pretend they know anything about it?The "Gothic" from Gothic literature comes from the middle ages. The first ever gothic novel, the castle of otranto, was called a gothic novel because it was set in the middle ages at the time of the crusades, written by horace walpole, who built himself a castle and was obessed with the middle ages. Virtually all of the great pieces of gothic fiction written in the Gothic Golden age (1760 to 1820) were set in the middle ages/renaissance. Gothic Literature is inherently medieval.>b-but frankenstein and draculaBoth of which were written after the Gothic Golden age had ended and one of which (frankenstein) only uses gothic elements.>>97388653 is the only one in this thread who actually knows what Gothic means and isn't just a retarded secondary.

>>97387973That does sound cool. What'd you do with the House aside from them being both Dragon-Blooded and Ghost-Blooded, though? Would they be exorcists, necromancers or something else? Would they be allies or servants of the Deathlords, their enemies or just intent on not getting caught up in their bullshit. Would they be more focused on Creation or the Underworld. Would they be ruled by ghostly ancestors or living Dragon-Blooded?This is not me demanding your idea to be born fully formed, to be clear. I was just wondering if you had something more specific in mind, or if you were interested in brainstorming a more detailed take with /exg/.

>>97386723This is a pretty good summary. I want to add, however, that the Imperium has a vested interest in letting the populace know about things like Space Marines and the Inquisition (so that people fear and revere them appropriately). The sisters less so, but the fact they wear the insignias of the Ecclesiarchy and spout holy scripture all day long probably makes it clear who they are if they show up - they don't really need stories about them. Nice to see people actually care about how information dissemination works in the Imperium, though. Last Dark Heresy campaign I was in, the feral world guardsman and the arbites beat cop were happily discussing the details of Necron gauss technology, and nobody batted an eyelash when the cog polisher-tier tech priest laid out the rights and privileges of a rogue trader.

>>97381462>Actual loser mentality because what's the point of playing if you're not doing it with friends.Personally, I'd like to make some friends by trawling the web for people who share my mindset... although my experience tells me that this is impossible for some reason. People would just rather apply to game after game after game and watch them crumble, rather than come together as a group and put in effort to build something actually good. Maybe it's the effort part, that they'd rather hold out hope that some day someone else will just do everything for them, or maybe they're so afraid of disappointment that they refuse to actually get invested in anything. Oh well. I have half a mind to offer to trade services, run somebody else's dream game for him if he does the same for me, but I'd probably just get some jackass to sting me for a one-shot and then disappear.

>>97386217Absolutely blessed session 0, good job choom.>I like the screamsheet format for adventures, they give you a story framework but leave most of the work in the GM's handsThis is pretty much what I do, I just skim a gig and get inspired for something of my own design. For example for the extremely well-written Agents of Desire I changed the Saturday Night Butt Kickers final battle to the crew infiltrating a yakuza lair (I mean come on if the idea was that Ai's engram could be cloned and copied as a free AI slave forever I feel like a bigger player would get it, not a technobarbarian gang), or for A Night at the Opera I set up the evil vampires as a huge infective presence down to even some NCPD having vampyre fangs and indoctrinated into the masquerade. And like most ref's I read Reaping the Reaper and thought that this plot point deserves a lot more love and made Reaper and his cloned AI into a more persistent threat. Also I took the various Bozo jobs and it inspired me to make an entire campaign out of it.
