Anons help me. I want to start watching Vanguard. Where do I start? I see there's a reboot of the original but with way fewer episodes.
>>97223846the "Reboot" is of V-series Vanguard. It's more based on the Manga adaption of the series.Classic is prolly where to start, with the first four or five eps being a good tutorial and all. Just mind the fact some of the facts are a BIT dated, such as the show-exclusive "Oracle Guardian, Hermes" (Which only shows up in a single episode and was never made to print)Also some say that Classic tends to have the better story compared to it's counterpart in V-series (Which drastically shortens the story). Also if you want to try your hands out with "Vintage" Vanguard, there is VGDD2, but mind the fact it's kindof expensive...Partially related, I kinda wish we had more anime-style Alternate Art cards, like that version of Oracle Guardian, Gemini in that pic.Unfortunately, it doesn't exactly expand on various clans in terms of gameplay. Hells, the only major time Bermuda Triangle and Neo Nectar show up is in a side tournament. Now for Standard Vanguard (D-series)... OverDress is the start point. (There is at least a free demo of VGDD1 in case you want to try a smidge of standard)
>>97223846You go to the vanguard youtube and watch any series you like
>>97223960Season 1 of classic is on another channel... ...except for ep 50 fer some reason.
Okay I will watch the original.>>97224003>Season 1 of classic is on another channel...Can I get a link please? Preferably subbed. Thank you

>>97223920>the old ones are not going away any time soon.In a few years hasbro will start sending pinkertons to destroy the cards of anyone caught openly playing non-sanctioned formats. It's funny because that wouldn't be too far from reality.

Takaishi-anon, if you're here, I need a little input on what he wears casually (as in, out of school, the story happens on a Saturday) because date episode reasons. The writefag's pretty close to done

>>97218224with Chizi I would like to explore the rivalry with Ming, repair their familial relationships with Linghao and Yi, deepen the bonds with people on their age bracket like Jian/Moyu/Haoran, preferably through some Ghost Domain or Cult adventures, and eventually get involved in the current northern region politics through the elder builds. If I have the time I'll probably try to tackle something related to the domain first.>>97221773Good work so far, anon! It is interesting how Chizi and Haoran are kindred souls of sorts, in the way they feel out of place in their current world, and how they deal with it by observing everyone around them. The way she protects Ming by drawing the heat toward herself is something that only makes Chizi angrier at their gemini. Ming should be the one handling the consequences of their actions, not their kind older sister whose only crime was having a foolish father.Chizi would try to stick up for Haoran whenever they can, and invite her for their outings so she can get away from the stuffy atmosphere of the Xun compound and engage in observation together. Similar to Jian, Chizi would also let her in on their more private thoughts, though not because Haoran struggles with inhumanity, but because Chizi was privy to her moment of weakness before, so it's only natural they would want to be accepted too.

How has a wife/girlfriend joining the group affected your games?
>>97223311>joining the groupshe was a founding memberit also means we get awesome snacks and teas
>>97223515gem
if a player ever invites his wife/girlfriend to my game then she's getting immediately sexually harassed (not by me though just by my NPCS)
>>97223311She is generally fine if not better than the other players because she doesnt get distracted as easily, however she gets bored far easier and will start to fall asleep in longer sessions. Its the gms gf and he hasn't really shown any favoritism to her.

Or maybe most/all of these civilizations have internal warring factions

>>97222980I suspect it's just the nature of decentralized feudal societies. The lay nobility can field their own armies and defend their holdings from rival noble houses.
What level wizard/magic user would Prospero have been?
>>97217579I'd run him as an intermediate level dual-class Sha'ir/Druid.Just because.
>>97220957
>>97219634Considering the studded leather armor (he didn't know wtf a brigantine is) and troglodytes (for him are big and feral lizardmen instead of brutish hominids) yes, they tried to approximate some shit based on their knowledge. To be fair it wasn't like today with internet, i can totally see them at some point going "meh, good enough. Not worth going to do reaserach for this shit".
>>97217579Weirdly Prospero might be the closest thing to the typical DnD Wizard found in pre-20th century literature. He actually was just a normal guy that studied magic books and learned how to perform magic without any natural ability of his own, demon pacts, demon or deity parenthood of any kind. Until he was a fairly powerful sorcerer who cold bind fairies and demons to his service, summon storms, control the emotions of others, and turn invisible. And when he tossed away his spell book and broke his foci he was a normal guy again. Seems almost ever other depiction of a wizard in old stories turn out to be a demi god, a cambion, or a god in disguise. Except for maybe a couple examples in some Russian fairy tales.
>>97223600Russia had a very strong folk magic tradition long after it kind of faded out in western Europe. In that worldview, magic is just another "law of nature", just a secret one. Anyone could do magic if they learned how, and it's usually not even that complicated, it's just that the knowledge is really secret and exclusive. Hunters know hunting spells (zagovory) and don't share them with shepherds, who know shepherding spells, healers know healing spells, etc. Only specialized people know a broad spectrum of magic. There are also demon powered witches and whatnot but basically magic is just knowing a secret magic incantation that hypothetically any child could do if they eavesdropped on a magician. To reiterate: this not a uniquely Russian thing, it's just more prominent at a later era.

Spanish Inquisition Miniatures by Victoria Miniatures. They are made in reference to the old "Nobody Expects The Spanish Inquisition" meme.
>Setting Basically late medieval to early Renaissance Europe >Magic Not really available to players, expect in the form of extremely rare high level magical weapons and items. BBEG should possess magic abilities >Player characters European presenting male fighters only, maximum one low level hedge wizard or shaman>Races All NPCs and PC should be human, finding a non-human village like elves should be extremely rare, unlikely, and magical experience
>>97223122I like this stuff. Been trying to cook something (crunch-wise), but in fantasy postapo setting that is vaguely Age of Decadence-inspired (if less grimdark and stupid).
>>97222512>Basically late medieval I ALREADY DONT FUCKING CARE
I can only describe the perfect setting where i would love to play in, picrel. Nothing fancy really.
>>97222512I would change PC to, any of them can learn magic. Late into the story and with a high price of course. And it might never actually succeed
>>97223638>Age of Decadence Neat, hadn't seen this but I live under a rock. Thanks anon.
Magic should be rare, mysterious, superstitious. It should take time to use and be exhausting to cast When did fantasy magic and wizards turn in Avatar the Last Airbender shooting fire and lightning out their assholes?
>>97217677>>97217788Could be worse, at least it's not Sabrina/Bewitched/I Dream of Jeannie shit where there is no limits or rules, anything goes no matter how stupid because we don't need to have rules.
>>97217677Magic should fit whatever setting and story it exists in. That's the only "should" there is in regards to magic. Trying to declare any take on magic as a one-size-fits-all solution all fantasy should adhere to is dumb as fuck.
>>97218359The bridge and the exorcism wasnt flashy though.
>>97217677I agree, however i understand more people seem to like flashy magic. How i think of it is people like lovecraftian and hate lovecraft. They like the seeing what the giant monster can do, where people like you and i prefer to leave that part up to the imagination. I think gandalf is cooler when he isnt showing off all he can do, but most people would just rather have wizards that are more like superheros or anime characters. To each their own
>>97217677Nah, that sounds lame as fuck. Give me wizard societys with flying cities and army destroying giga spells.
Any problems you have with Warhammer 40k/Games Workshop over the past few years, anon? Do you see it getting better or worse?
>>97223168>The focus on competitive tournament faggotry has made 40k one of the most bland wargames I have ever playedThis is why we're actively fighting WAACfaggotry over in /btg/, selling to tryhards may be profitable, but it ruins the experience for everyone else.
>>97223274Loretubers are boarding on a million normalfags a day who are "in it for the lore".
>>97223325The lore fucking sucks. Idk why people get so invested in it. /yourdudes/ are all that matter. Here’s my custom Craftworld. Don’t give a shit about the other ones or any “named character.”
>>97223560People are, in general, not very creative. Thus they cling to media that influenced them regardless of quality.
>>97222984>Any problems you have with Warhammer 40k/Games Workshop over the past few years, anon? Not really, but that's heavily related to the fact that I dropped their games long ago.

test model before going all in going alright so far
>>97223065as I read it, bro said kits with 70 parts or so, kinda implying that he'd be needing the aformentioned implements to paint them individually. If that's not the case my bad for having shit reading comprehension.>gunplathat much subassembly seems a lot even for gunpla. the only thing I could think of that goes that far is maybe a super over the top warship model >>97223297>what's an excessive amountfor normal size minis, anything more than 2 pieces, maybe 3 at most. most times I just leave off the head, if anything.>armiger painted in like 20 piecesseems a bit much to me; though, I haven't painted any knights yet, honestly. Just glancing at armigers, I'd probably just do the weapons and leg + shoulder armor separately for maybe 6 pieces + the main mf.
>>97223297>>97223785What's even the point of sub assembly if you're planning on doing highlights and not making it look like a toy?
>>97223799Sub-assembly is overall preferred when you have multiple pieces that are otherwise hard to reach and/or movable.
>>97223799because different parts want to be painted differently. The legs and body I did with metallic paints with an airbrush, while the flat panels were hand painted with regular paints. And doing things like the gold trim are easier when I just have to rotate a mostly flat panel instead of a 4 inch model. And airbrushing inks for that heat treated metal look on the vents and meltas is easier when I don't have to block off any other parts
