I'm sick of the casual community having sway over the smaller, competitive scene. Its bullshit because some of my favorite games ARE during a tournament since everyone is so accommodating and interested in maintaining the spirit of the game.

It's supposedly going to be dropping here soon (it was supposed to drop this summer, but apparently they needed more time to cook). I went to their Twitter page, and it only has 120 followers, so I'm feeling a little nervous. Worst case scenario, I can pinch off lore that they've promised to include if they completely butcher the actual game mechanics and shoehorn things into a better system if I have to. I hope I don't.

Anyone familiar with Skydawn games, or are they a "literally who" of the TTG scene?

The Techer is one of my favorite renditions of a magic warrior/gish in games. Just beat the shit out of everyone with an elemental infused with a want that conspicuously looks like a sword or a mace and fall back on normal ranged spells whenever I needed. The Phantom using the staff as a scythe and the Etoile turning the wand into a huge laser were also really fun.
>>
>>96498429
I really hope they give us something for the scion classes. They were all fun as hell.
>>
>>96499837
It always saddened me how we didn't got Scion classes for the other weapons. I feel like a monk-like class with the fists and the jet boots was something a lot of people hoped for but it unfortunately never happened.

Am I missing anything or do Free/Far Traders flying off a C or D starport really always have a 25% chance or so of misjumping? In Traveller Classic, that is, the 1977 rules.
> Throw 12+ for a misjump to occur, DM+5 if within 100 planetary diameters, +3 if using unrefined fuel (except military and scout ships), -1 if using refined fuel, +2 if operating beyond the required date for annual maintenance.
Meaning as I said, on a 9+ on 2d6, misjump. And then class C and D starports, offering only unrefined fuel, are like 42% of all randomly generated starports? And then 50% chance the hex they pop up in has nothing by raw.
That all sounds fucking painful, unless you somehow stick to A and B ports. I guess that explains all those low population planets.
Are there other modifiers I missed somewhere? Something like, god the gas giant presence roll that's just a random line in book 2 instead of being in book 3. The 1981 rules are so much kinder about it, damn.

Traveller thread I guess.

>I just wonder how much they played with this at all at the time they wrote it, or if their players only flew to A and B ports like I said in the OP.
I have no idea but I would assume a lot of C and D starport travel took place. I can't believe that many people would enjoy a game where misjump party wipes off a single die roll were so common.

Well this was another unexpected find while going through the several boxes i picked up for dirst cheap at an estate sale.

The core 3 black books of Traveller.

Pretty sure these are 1st edition as says 1977. If theres more I have not seen it yet. Currently reading through. Working through chargen to see how it plays out.

So the career section really is fairly lethal on PCs. Two Scouts with not bad stats croaked on their 2nd tours. Merchant with ok stats somehow made it through a full set of tours and scored a commission each time.

Bout as far as got so far.

Trench Crusade General - /trench/
Weird love Edition

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game still in a pre-release playtesting phase but with the full release slated for this year. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, it's awesome, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What Trench Crusade is not
TC not an excuse for you to discuss IRL religion, history that didn't occur in the game, culture war shit, or discord bullshit on /tg/. Keep it on topic.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
All the files are free online, but are split between the website and the discord. They have all been collected here for your convenience:

most people use the Hero Forge workshop module or whatever. Has every model for all the factions. They're not "official" but they're darn close.

Also Yes scene is active as loathe as I am to say it, the official discord has people looking for pick up games regularly. Also they run campaigns through there as well if you want.

NTA but Arabia was railroding hard and forcing Carrero to bring her character down lower and lower and forced her to wear a crown of Lolth
On top that she also kept having her make rolls for no reason and when she tried to have her character do something interesting or creative she got mad and told her to stop running her game (in a joking manner but you could hear the seethe)

We usually end up giving them a job
In most of my 5e sessions whenever a bandit group tries to rob us on the road we end up killing the leader or some of them and whoever survives passes our test that we were totally putting them through this whole time
It's kind of slavery but we pay and feed them what we can and if they run away while we're sleeping we don't really care
Though when they steal something we usually hunt them down even if it's something minor like a wine skin
One time in late game we had three of our bandit recurits go take care of the other bandits in front of us
The three tried to get them to run away or else he's gonna regret it
They didn't listen and they fought
We took in a new member of our company
The dm described how the newest bandit looked up to the other three in fear and the three looked back with a somber expression, remembering when they used to feel that kind of fear

I will give them the chance to make their case. I don't expect to be convinced, but they will have the chance to change my mind.
But if they have been killing random travelers, they should expect to receive as much mercy as they have given and no more.

He's an old man who read so many chivalric romances that he addled his mind and decided to become a knight-errant. He declares a local farm worker his squire and a slaughterhouse worker his lady love, and rides around the Spanish countryside, mistaking everyday things and people for fairy tale figures and getting into trouble.

funny
complaint 1. CR's campaigns and PC arcs have predetermined outcomes
complaint 2. Despite the above, they still cheat
complaint 3. The players are still (after 10 years) shit-tier, constantly doing all the bad tropes that good ones quickly overcome.
complaint 4. They are grifters preying on the often mentally ill who are oblivious to it - see A. Kickstarter to Amazon Prime bait-and-switch,
B. Making own game as if they are dumping WotC, selling it out, and then sticking with WotC for the money.

I don't know, but I would be shocked if they weren't. The bulk packs of PCB drill bits you can get are great and inexpensive. They're made to drill much harder stuff so plastic is easy for them, BUT because they're hard and tiny (lol) they break really easily so you've got to be careful with the tinier ones.
