We had two shopping sessions since I was the only one actually writing things down on what to buy/look for so the the table took almost entire first shopping session figuring out their shopping list and then again half of our next session. We also might lose the Frost player since she is too busy but she is too attached to the character and I'm afraid she won't give him a proper sendoff/ending. The player who played John the Halfling returned and he pulled out his first character (Bard) and he was able to fit in the story with the DM since last time he played his Bard, we were not in Hell. Our Amy player has also been slacking. He doesn't tell us in time if he's gonna make it to session or not, always gives off some bitch excuses such as "I'm tired" and "Ah...i saw the message too late and I scheduled with my other D&D table for that evening". He already complained that Amy seems to simple and boring as a character but I'd say he is just bad at RPing. Amy is awesome PC with tons of reasons and plot hooks to shape out her character.

Every few months I see an "Ace Combat RPG" thread pop up, with people asking what is available. On one hand, there are air combat wargames that people have added RPG layers to (and then never share their houserules where people can find them). On the other, there are RPGs that focus on WW1, or dieselpunk 1930's/40's, or Cold War aircraft and pilots.
What people seem to be craving is a game that strikes the middle ground, and does for air combat what Battle Century and Lancer did for mecha.

The problem with Mechwarrior is that only 3rd edition (a.k.a. Classic BattleTech RPG) had RPG rules for the mech fights, as opposed to "play the wargame." Oh, and I guess MW: Destiny can do that, but in my opinion that game is far too rules-lite for the purpose.

Best would be Jovian Chronicles, which is, yes, quite old at this point. More modern takes are Armour Astir (example setting is fantasy, but works fine for sci-fi) and Beam Saber. Both of those lean into the personal drama between pilots, and eschew the wargame roots of Jovian Chronicles.

Thread title, I had to kick a player who couldn't stop being gay.
At the very start of the campaign, I went "Look, romance only leads to drama, I'm not having that stuff at my table, okay?" Now, I meant the PCs hitting on female NPCs, but the one gay player kept hitting on the party's questgiver, a Duke.
I told him OOC to cut that shit out, but he insisted that it was essential to his characterization, and accused me on being homophobic.
I assured him that yes, I find faggots disgusting, and booted him.
You'd think that he could just turn that shit off for a few hours each week, but he couldn't even manage that.

Thread title.
It's a pain in the ass occasionally, but I calculate DEX Armor Class different from 'armored' Armor Class, so I can tell players if they dodge an attack or if it's stopped by their armor (I used to keep track of shield AC too, but fuck that.)
For fighters, I usually say that every one in three attacks are parried by them instead.
When super-strength is a thing, I try to describe (harmless) collateral damage as much as possible. I have had players in superhero games who are simply flying bricks, and it makes them feel like they're having a more tangible effect on their surroundings.
Also, I randomly flavor the attacks of big, strong foes as picking up shit and hitting people with it.
If a PC kills an important foe, I tell him to describe the Mortal Kombat-style deathblow i.e. At 0 HP you abruptly become made of putty.

Platonic ideal of dark elf for me is fair skin and leaning to dark hair, like Druchi, I think the culture is too over the top though.
I think it's interesting that Greenwood was actually gonna go with human like fair skin for his forgotten realms dark elves, so they could blend in with moon elves and infiltrate them, but ended up making just a version of Drow to conform to Gygax's d&d conventions.
