nope, parasocial freaks need to be called out.
>>
>>97278963
>parasocial
I don't think you know what that means

Did you save that one or are you one of the creeps that collects vaguely hot CR frames?
>>
>>97279337
He doesn't. He's so intent on defending O'Brien's creepiness and cheating, that he looks like he has a parasocial relationship with the cast. Then again, he could just do the same kind of sociopathic table behavior like Liam does.
>>
>>97279799
lemme guess, you don't think Liam has been creepy toward Laura.

When asking about this stuff, enable web search and peek at the sources.

Yeah I read some guys blog and it wasn't hugely helpful.
It really does sound like you have to make such vague references. Like "there is a tall horned humanoid, a minotaur with earth elemental talents, you can learn more from the third Tome of Monsters on page 113, if you know what I mean" but even that might be too much.

Honestly? Might just copy some stats for monsters, change their ability wording (probably improve it, if anything) and do things that way. Just rename it and change it enough. Like those guys who made "OGL safe illithids" for Pathfinder.

ironically this solution screws over WotC more because it bypasses their content entirely, and means that fewer people will buy their books (not that most people would be anyway, nor is WotC even making money off of 3.5 books anymore)

Hello everybody.
I am planning a dwarf based campaign (all my PCs will be dwarves and the majority of items, feats, monsters etc will, in some shape or form, be associated with dwarves as a race) for next session.
Can anyone please recommend any d20 3.5 books that are, for the most part, dwarf themed.

So far I have used Races of Stone (WotC), Dungeon/Dragon Magazine articles, Quintessential Dwarf I/II (Mongoose), Heroes Of High Favor - Dwarves (Badaxe Games), Races Of Renown - Hammer & Helm (Green Ronin) and Advanced Race Codex - Dwarves (Green Ronin).

Thank you in advance.
>>
>>97279899
Depends on the type of dwarfing you're getting up to but Drow of the Underdark and Forgotten Realms - Underdark have sections on cave ecology, spelunking, and the like.

>It's all one client now. Reforged is just graphical changes. Frozen Throne and Reign of Chaos have sinced been combined into one program.
WHich added a lot of bugs and fucked the balance of the RoC campaign by switching everything to the damage and armor types of TFT.

I do like that WC2 remake though I think it's going a bit too far to make both campaigns canon right up to Stromgarde, Stratholme, Dalaran, and Lordaeron City getting totally/mostly destroyed. The book version definitely went too far the other way and made the Horde seem a non threat, but this doesn't really work either. Plus integrating all that NuLore like the Void stuff.

Deviant or mockery breed?

The DMG refers to eight different types of players. Was it correct?

RIFTS! The science fantasy world of post-apoc cyborgs, wizards, dragons, ninjas, giant mecha, super-nazis, robot ninjas, vampires, underwater kingdoms, remnant human supertech civilizations and everything you can imagine all rolled into one setting where interdimensional RIFTS have pierced Earth's fabric and turned it into a playground for aliens and monsters!

Plus other Palladium Games about superheroes, zombies, classic fantasy, supernaturals investigation and more.

Talk about:
>RIFTS(tm)
>Heroes Unlimited
>Palladium Fantasy
>Beyond the Supernatural
>Dead Reign
>Robotech (lol)
>TMNT & Other Strangeness + After the Bomb
>Splicers
>Nightbane

Anyone play it yet? I like the "rustic fantasy" setting. The core rules seem interesting, it has more mechanics and gameplay than most other narrative games. I enjoy that it doesn't have moves or whatever to confine you, you can actually play your character and do whatever you want. It's got enough knobs and options in terms of resolution I feel like it's actually a real game despite having that more story focus vs simulation focus. And I like that the DM has all the traditional power of the DM and there's not like "Fate Points" or something else that gives players control to change stuff.
Thinking I might try a short game for my table, just a few lower powered sessions. It also has good tools for a solo stuff which is interesting.

>You all meet in the tavern of an isolated village. It's seven in the morning, and everyone is having their breakfast.
>You see in the corner a young man in studded leather chatting animatedly with an older woman in heavy armor.
>A young woman lets out a cheer as she beats a man of the same age in an arm wrestle. He wears a suit of gleaming gothic half-plate, while she wears a hauberk and gambeson. After the contest has ended, the pair enjoy a hearty meal of turkey and maize together.
>An old man wearing a ragged cloak over equally ragged clothes nurses a cooling cup of coffee while watching their antics, stirring in a spoonful of sugar after an exploratory taste.
>A woman sat on a stool by the bar takes in one last drag of her cigarette before she stubs it out in an ashtray. With that out of the way, she tucks into a pumpkin pie that is waiting for her.
>A man with dark skin pays for his meal with several unfamiliar coins, before brushing past you on his way out the door. He wears a vest made of soft leather over a loose cotton shirt, and has a long sword in a sheath strapped to his back, ready to be drawn at any moment.
>A young girl greets you animatedly and offers you menus. She asks if any of you were interested in buying some of the potato and rabbit stew that is currently cooking, or if you'd like rooms for the night.

My character internally cringes at all the various anachronisms that are ruining the mood of the renaissance fair, while giving an especially dirty look to the woman who can't go without a cigarette for a few hours; a scorn born more from jealousy than disgust as he has to stop himself from reflexively reaching for a box in his shirt pocket that hasn't been there for years.

He mentally chides himself for taking the contact seriously and researching how to behave at the fair only for everyone else to care even less than he did. Yet, out of a sense of spite he decides he might as well keep up the act and do it right even if nobody else does. He takes a seat and though he declines the stew and room, he orders some bread and cheese to blend in. He's more of an eggs and bacon kind of guy, but forces himself to scarf it down as he knows he'll need the energy for later.

He absentmindedly chews on the scarce fare as he keeps an eye out for the contact and tries to stop himself from chuckling at the noodle-armed office nerd losing in arm-wrestling to the roided out dyke pretending to be an amazonian. A few minutes turns into dozens and he decides he'll just have to do some legwork and look for the contact himself. As he pays, he wonders whether he should leave a tip with the plastic coins that the fair uses and decides he might as well, as he'll just bill the client for the expenses anyway. Serves him right for this joke of a meetup point.

It's funny because nowhere in the stale pasta does it ever mention being a medieval, a fantasy world or anything even unrealistic once you realize the previous two don't apply. It's easily explained by just being a bunch of shitty LARPers in a modern setting and a retarded narrator, AKA (You).
Also, on my way out of the tavern, my character notices a small smelly brown dwarf (manlet) in a corner making a retarded thread on /tg/ so he kicks his ass. Fuck you.

>I just cannot play it.
Anon, be careful to avoid voicing an opinion so loudly on a game you've never played. Had you played it you'd have reached Tulla which has some of the vibes you're describing. Otherwise it represents thinking around the industrial age, not the medieval age.

nta, but plato described it as being advanced naval power compared to his ancient greek world. I don't think he expected it to be more advanced than aircraft carriers and submarines.

>Their "magic" is Art, delivered from MANY OF ITS HUMAN LIMITATIONS
>And its object is Art not Power, sub-creation not domination and tyrannous re-forming of creation
Which are traits shown in the technological machinery used by Saruman and Sauron, though I guess in the end their stuff does have a mystical basis since they're basically angels with an intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the universe, like the Watchers from the book of Enoch and such

>No. He has said machinery is kin to magic.
Only in its results, not in its means.
I can agree that the results magic provide can be seen as just science with way less steps and effort, but thinking that science and magic are the same as in >>97274288 is just an idiotic and way too simplistic way to look at the matter
aaaand that's it for me, this thread was derailed way too long ago and the OPs topic was resolved like 100 posts ago. New year resolutions and that stuff
