>It's improv; the classic "yes, and..." rule.
Improv isn't gaming
> Maybe the DM expected them to look for someone to cast Identify on it and was planning to introduce the College of Mages this session; and when the players take a more mundane route, they get to introduce a new character and new elements to the story.
So just because the players did something the DM didn't expect, they now get to spawn in something that... introduces the thing the DM wanted to do anyway?? That's just railroading with extra steps. .

Fetishes fuck over other stuff when used too much as it stops being about anything else or contrived in. And it limits options as you can't do stuff with a subject that undermine the fetish like how a vorefag has an autistic freakout when the monster gets sliced apart in the throat because they tried to swallow someone with daggers. Or how someone being mutilated to a horrific monster is going being a body horror thing that wants put out of its misery too much for people into TF to fantasize have happening to them.

>Or how someone being mutilated to a horrific monster is going being a body horror thing that wants put out of its misery too much for people into TF to fantasize have happening to them.
As a TF fag this has never been a problem for me. Not into the body horror stuff fetishistically but they can coexist and even complement each other perfectly, Made in Abyss is a great example. In fact a lot of great manga are just transparently based on the author's fetish.

Not being able to write "your fetish but bad sometimes" is just being a shit writer, doesn't mean fetish-based writing is bad.

Yeah it's like the mystery flesh pit or such where no one's going to expect you to find it hot it killed 200 people or get mad if you wish it got purged with nukes, at most question if that'd even make sense to do.

>What is /awg/?
A thread to talk about minis and games which fall between the cracks, or peoples' homebrew wargames.

The >>>/tg/hwg thread doesn't entertain fantasy (for good reason) and the other threads are locked to more specific games.
This thread isn't tied to a game, a publisher, or a genre, let's just talk about fun wargames. Any scale, any company, any miniatures.

>Examples of games that qualify.
A Song of Ice and Fire, Argatoria, Batman Miniature Game, Carnevale, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings,
Deadzone, Dragon Rampant, Dropfleet and Dropzone Commander, Freebooter's Fate, Frostgrave, Gaslands, HeroClix,
Kings of War, Maelstrom's Edge, Malifaux, Marvel Crisis Protocol, Masters of the Universe: Battleground, Moonstone,
Oathmark, OnePageRules, Open Combat, RelicBlade, Rumbleslam, SAGA, StarCraft, Stargrave, Sludge, Urban War, Void,
Warcaster, Warmachine, Xenos Rampant, Xenotactics...
...and anything else that doesn't necessarily have a dedicated thread.

>Examples of companies providing rules and/or miniatures for alternative wargames.

Seeing the new MTG set look so incredibly gay and full of mediocre modern digital fantasy art is quite sad.

Pic on the right is a trap. Sure, it looks like Fulsom Street in San Francisco with less leathermen. But it's also exactly the kind of thing a beholder would do and the reason is to attract other beholders to the degenerate spectacle so the gayholder can slay them.
Beholders hate most life forms but hate other beholders most, because they aren't perfect like that beholder.
I'm surprised that mirrors aren't more effective on them. Here, just stare at yourself while we get the flaming oil ready.
>>
>>97832558
Not all beholders hate everything other than themselves. Some can get along with others like that one leading a thieves guild. Spectator Beholders like that one you meet in BG2 is pretty friendly and will talk to people.

This is stupid.

Both of these images are false.

The image on the right is not new-D&D, it’s what pearl clutchers and grognards think new D&D is like.

And I’ve read the old stories of pre-millennium adventures. Those were just as prone to colossal shit-shows as today.

Nothing’s changed, except which rules are getting argued over.

I haven't read the ruleset. How big are the armies for a standard match? How much do you need to spend?
>>
>>97831953
Combat patrol scale to begin with, game gets bigger as the match progresses due to supply.
Read the rules for more info, I shall not spoonfeed.
>>
>>97831953
Obviously it depends on what army you are playing, but the FE starters make about 1k in points, with 2k being pushed as the standard size. The average unit runs from around 150 pts. to 300 pts.

The mounted combat rules in 3.5 are a bit of a joke because horses don't fit in a dungeon. To my understanding you can absolute zigzag back and forth with a charge every round. Don't forget the horse gets to make an attack as well.

He’s not wrong. Every time I come across a Christian honor killing in the news it’s done by an Arab Christian, never (rarely?) a white Christian. How one acts in religion is genetic, which comes before culture. Nature comes before nurture. You can’t teach fungus to do math.
>>
>>97832647
Depends on your biological classification, all of those animals if I remember correctly are deuterostomes, organisms where the blastopores develop into the anus hole first during embryonic development before developing the mouth or feeding hole.

And given enough time, all mammals would mustelidise (evolve to be more weasel and Mustelidae like) before diverging again or hyper specialize towards a particular ecological niche and then go extinct as environmental and geological changes causes said niche to disappear.

I can't be bothered to read the entire context of the conversation, but this is the worst possible example you could have made.
Fungi (specifically slime molds and mycelial networks) can solve complex geometric and computational problems.

I see.
Legitimately interesting.

My setting doesn't really allow for easy settlement of non-defensible locations. So every settlement is pretty heavily fortified due to the threat of monsters.
So no equivalent to plains people. There are a few nomadic groups, but those nomadic groups prefer areas with natural defenses, hiding spots, and cover and tend to avoid open plains.

Open plains tends to equal very big monsters.
Also the reason people avoid deserts in my world unless they are intentionally hunting monsters. More open space means monsters are free to get bigger.
Less open space means they are constricted in size. It's why ironically monsters in dungeons are significantly easier to deal with, at least individually, than monsters of the wilds.

This is a bit oversimplified and pushes those ideas much further than most scholars would. However, it is true that people with something to lose (but not fully secure) tend to be more concerned with appearances and norms. Teachers, managers, merchants, yeomen, shopkeepers, craftsment, bureaucrats, media professionals help define “acceptable behavior.” Groups try to signal morality, discipline, and refinement to gain or protect status.

It is however simply not true that they are all sexism, racism, puritanism and morality come from the middle class. More accurate is to say that classes in the middle of the hierarchy often experience strong Status Anxiety, which can lead them to emphasize norms, respectability, and moral behavior as ways of maintaining or improving their social position than other classes would Everyone performs; just differently.

>Elites perform through:
Signal status through effortless distinction: Exclusive tastes, etiquette, education (think “old money culture”). Can break rules without losing status.

>Middle classes perform through:
Signal status through visible correctness: Gatekeepers of "Good behavior,” politeness, following social rules. Buying things that signal taste and upward mobility (not necessarily luxury, but the right kind of lifestyle).

>Working classes perform through:
Often signal through authenticity, resilience, or group loyalty: Toughness, authenticity, community identity.

I actually suggest letting him die and replacing him with his son, Eugene L.N.B., who'd be the exact same unit, but keeping all the lore - Charles' story happened, he met Akamnandag etc. and on the meta level we could say he was playable in an early edition. Emperor or not, this man fucked, he'd make a heir eventually.
For simplicity's sake we could use actual Eugene as base, regardless of whom Charles is likely to marry in this timeline. He'd be using his military career to build up clout and political support and basically become a mixture of his own father and Boulanger OTL.

Welcome to /2eg/, a thread dedicated to all things 2nd Edition D&D related - including settings, lore, modules, and derived systems (Alternity, Buck Rogers XXVc, For Gold and Glory, Hackmaster, Myth and Magic, and more).

Since 2e draws heavily from earlier editions, older modules are welcome too. Other media derived from AD&D (such as Infinity Engine video games) also has a home here.

It's what you play, not how you play it. RAW or homebrew, as long as your table is having fun, there's no wrong way to play.

There's a surprisingly complete 2e fan wiki for rules stuff, it's excellent for quick reference:

Hikaru is now the great Mr 6 7 for that deep think.

He should have waited 5 more minutes to beat Grischuk's record.

Would allowing the players to have a paper and pencil to do calculations or take notes reduce the amount of time that players take on thinking? Would it increase the level of play? Would it lead to more draws?

I would lose time writing things properly.
>Would it increase the level of play?
I don't see how you'd find the best move by writing.
>more draws?
Impossible at this level, they maxed out already.

My thought is that it would probably reduce thinking time. My IQ is 80, so it might just be me, but I think Hikaru would have done a bit better if he just wrote down all the possible moves and the different branches that could arise from them. Just to organize his thoughts, you know? It could have reduced his thinking time.

>What is Trench Crusade?
An alternate weird history 28mm/32mm tabletop skirmish game. Based on the art and lore of Mike Franchina, whose illustrations you may have seen floating around on /tg/ for a several years now, and designed by Tuomas Pirinen, one of the original creators of Mordheim. It's grimdark, it's visceral, and it's very Blanchitsu.

>What's the QRD on the background?
The Knights Templar turned heretic and opened the Gates of Hell when they took Jerusalem during the First Crusade. Over 800 years later the war is still ongoing as technology has developed to a pseudo diesel-punk WW1 standard and a third of Humanity has sided with the Infernal Princes.

>How do I get started?
All the files are free online:

They used to be split between the website and the discord, but no more. For posterity's sake, the old mega will still be kept active even if it's unlikely to need updating: https://mega.nz/folder/70QH0BBa#Eg-blxYQKkY_C02wErnFTQ

So does anyone know of any other plastic kits that are currently in the pipeline? I would be happy to see Archon doing more work for TC.

OK, ignoring the legitimate love I have for my family you still lose. Meaning raising an infant/toddler/kid/teen is admittedly tough, but much more enjoyable than it is tough. That's why you exist retard-kun
In 50 years my kid(s?) will have kids of his/(her maybe) own and maybe even grandkids that I'll teach and nurture in this hobby. In 50 years you'll be dead or dying and your posts in a Tibetan knitting forum archive will be all you can contribute to the hobby.
Ever heard the phrase 'the winners write history'? I'm winning, and you could be too, stop hating women and your ideas will spread to your children and then they can steer TC away from youtube sloppers that hate the game. Fuck it I'm gonna find time to greenstuff some IS this month, tax time be damned

Damn it.
I'm this anon, and that was way more aggressive that I want to be. I know how the chans work, I've been here for longer than you'd think. I just woke up one day and realized being happy meant more than 'winning' threads to me. So I pushed myself and lost a couple times til I won. To the poster thinking all women are trash, they really aren't. The single ones are in a mindset surprisingly similar to you, wanting to win an argument (thread) more than they want longterm happiness. Both of you are wrong, but if I can't persuade (you) of that I'll just slip into the background of tcg.
It sucks half the posts here seem to hate the game or are trying to slide it, I just thought Franchina art was sick long before the game came around and wanted to support a game based on it. Wish we had IP counters back, that would fix so much
If you like the game and want to reply to me, try and post cool iron sultanate art or a model that could be made out of with ork bits, I still want to build at least 1 cool custom model
