Good morning thread. Last repost of 0.1 of my Pokémon Trading Card Game (GB) jump. The next update will be to 1.0.
>>
>>93452791
>Good morning thread
Good morning, WoL
>>
What are your objective "top ten best Jumpmakers ever" lists? The order doesn't matter, but I would want some of your reasoning, even if that's just the Jump you like most from each of them. When I say objective, I mean that I don't really care about the Jumpmaker's personality so much as the actual skills they displayed. What Jumpmakers and Jumps are the best references for what a new Jumpmaker should learn from?
>>
So in the Terminator jump, there's a drawback where Skynet sends a bunch of robots back in time to kill you. Only... how exactly to T-1s and T-70s travel back in time? They're all exposed metal, and you need living tissue (or the mimetic polyalloy) to not be destroyed.
Is it some "field engineer" infiltrator model sent back in time and making these? Did the jumpmaker ever say anything about that?
>>
>>93452834
Hello. Have you been well?
>>
>>93452839
Beast
Heavens
Mardukth
Red
YJ

Avoid Shard. Shard makes a lot of bad decisions due to autism but dazzles people with purple prose.
>>
>>93452853
They wrap them in flesh, like a giant disgusting meatball, then they cut their way out when they arrive.
>>
>>93452906
Like an Abrams covered in human skin?
>>
>>93452906
That's hilarious, Jumper will now find piles of burnt skin around... wherever they are.
>>
>>93452853
The jumpmaker never said anything about it but I'd assume they were given a meat coating that just peeled off after they arrived.
>>
>>93452839
I like their jumps and they don't seem like cunts, in terms of jump quality I don't think any of them have made a jump for something I like that I also didn't enjoy:
>NuBee
>PsychoAnon

>Gene
>Valaria
>Blade

>HeavensAnon

>>
>>93452862
I'm good
>>
>>93452839
Worm, Heavens, Valeria, Red, Yorokonde, YJ, NuBee, WoL, Blade, Cats.

No way to order between those who is better, but these ten are the ones that any new jumpmaker should base their jumps off of. The jumps don't have to be perfect even though every name on there has multiple perfect jumps, but they do need to be consistent to a style and popular, because popularity is what determines what is acceptable here. Of the names above I think Red, Valeria and Heavens are the most innovative. Blade and WoL are the most consistent. Worm, Yoro and YJ are the best for narrative writing.

You could argue that new jumpmakers should actually learn from the objective ten worst jumpmakers to know what to avoid.
>>
>>93452839
Red, Heavens, Worm, Shard, IGanon, and Mojave. Honestly I'm not good with names so I'm probably forgetting some people. There's a few other honorable mentions but I don't really know/like the settings they made jumps for, so I never really looked at their docs.

>>

Good to hear, fren.
>>
I could use a community ruling. I've got some auto evolution/adaptation perks like Karma Chameleon and some biologically based psychic powers, Zerg and Tyranid stuff mostly. Would it be excessive for me to develop new psychic powers in response to appropriate stressors? For example developing Hydro- or Cryokinesis in response to fighting a powerful Hydrokinetic? It feels right to me, but I'm curious what others think.
>>
>>93452986
Obnoxious faggot and he made triune scriptures, death penalty and 36 consecutive life sentences
>>
>>93452959
What are NuBee and Cats supposed to be good at, and what would you consider the Ten Worst Jumpmakers? What are some of the Jumps you consider perfect?
>>
>>93452791
Afternoon WoL
>Uses entire budget on pokemon card companions
>Insert them into YGO jumps
>Several general of a YGO archetype based on pokemon will continue to terrorize the game for decades to come when the chain is over
The time for LV YGO monsters to be in the meta is now baby!
>>93452562
I didn't ask for OC suggestions, that was another anon asking for the duo. I might as well add it in since we don't have a Dominion Tank Police jump anyway.
>>
>>93452986
Nyanko doesn't have the same consistency and is more of a thread personality than a jumpmaker.
>>
>>93452998
>Ten Worst Jumpmakers
Some contenders would be Wildcard and Blackshadow. Wakfu was our fault but his jumps are still bad. I personally really dislike Coolcat's jumps but that's a me thing. (They have lots of fancy images but little actual perk content)
>>
>>93452992
If I was reading a story and the MC had what you described, I would not argue against him developing the powers you described in response.
But if I was writing a story, hydro/cryokinesis would not be *psychic* powers. But every setting works differently and what the hell do I know.

I would argue for powers that work against the hydrokinetic. Freeze the water, evaporate the water, removing it from his range of control, etc.
>>
>>93452938
I legitimately did a double take when I saw my name. Why? I've made one jump. It wasn't even anything impressive.
>>
>>93452998
>Ten Worst Jumpmakers
2 come from here, 5 come from SB, 3 come from Reddit.
>>
>>93452959
What jumps have each of these names made?
>>
>>93453041
SB jumpmakers are worse than reddit's?

Chazz It Up!
>>
>>93453054
Reddit has a lot of people who make 1 or 2 Jumps and then quit the hobby. I can't blame them for being bad, because they never honed their craft. However, they do dilute their community with trash due to this.

SB however, has many Jumpmakers who simply never learn their lesson, no matter how much experience they get, because at its core SB pushes for broken meta-shit.

If we are counting people who have made between 1~3 Jumps as Jumpmakers though, then yes, Reddit probably takes all spots.
>>
>>93453023
Thanks for your input! High level psychic bullshittery in Starcraft and 40k gets wild enough that I feel comfortable being flexible about it. I'm definitely planning to keep any developed powers as close to a pure stress-response as can be. I want it to feel like an organically grown thing, so yeah if my bio-horror of a jumper is getting thrashed by water, solutions to the water problem will be what he develops rather than something further afield.

I want my jumper in Forgotten Realms to be a Death Knight. The template requires being at least level 6.

What class/es should I go with? The obvious one would be Blackguard, but it's not offered in the jump for some reason. Curently I was thinking some combot of Fighter/Marshal/Knight, but that seems suboptimal.
>>
>>93453039
I'm obsessed with Wuxia and martial arts movies.
>>
>>93453102
Cleric?
>>
>>93452998
I see NuBee as a more balanced version of Valeria. Less thread drama, more consistency in jumpmaking when it comes to jump consistency. Cats was the first jumpmaker to use scenarios while still keeping them non intrusive. Worm, MHA, Black Crusade, Naruto, FFXIV are jumps I would consider perfect.

Quick list for ten worst jumpmakers, Burkess, SinGod, Trouble, Aehriman, aleph aeon, SonicCody, Dirge, Kinunatz, kuribohknight, and maybe Ursine. Again no real way to sort out who is the absolute worst but safe to say that all of their jumps are bad and are examples of what not to do.
>>
>>93452992
I am not familiar with the original perk, but for me it would depend if the adaption id primarily defensive or judt generally to aid you. Like i could see someone with defensive adaption develop psychic defensws after a psychic attack, but getting active hydrokinesis as adaption for damage would seem far fetched.

But like I could see it developing in more generalnevolution power, if your circumstances push you to need it, like if you constantly involved in underwater combat.
>>
>>93453130
>Aehriman
A-fucking-men.
>>
>>93453105

Probably the most autistic man on the planet.
>>
>>93452839
Well I don't know about my top 10 but here are my bottom 10. The worst of the worst Jumpmakers.

>10. Broncho

> 8. Me

> 5. Me

>>
>>93453149
I've seen two jumps with his name on it on our drive, and the only reason I think they are good enough is because he had someone else wrangling him.
His jumps without wranglers are dogshit
>>
>>93453149
Most, if not all the people on that list are probably some form of autistic. It's one possible explanation for how they can be so consistently bad. Though in the case of a few you could argue that they just refuse to put any effort into their jumps, like Aehriman, Burkess, Dirge, and also SonicCody.

bat so i could match rouge. rougeanon convinced me of the glory of fat bat tats.
>>
>>93453084
It doesn't really work that way though. Both Reddit and SB have some of the most prolific jumpmakers and there is nothing stopping the jumpmakers from that community from learning first before actually making a jump. Reddit is much worse for this than SB because they worship Valeria yet routinely make horrible jumps that show they have learned nothing. SB arguably only has two jumpmakers that are comparable to Reddit's worst, Aehriman and Blackshadow, but even they aren't anywhere near as bad as Reddit's Four Horsemen of Failure. Burkess, Sonic, Dirge and Trouble set the bar when it comes to worst jumpmaker.
>>
>>93453223
Well unfortunately we don't have a /tg/ one.
>>
>>93453250
Well, then I guess you're not allowed to talk about it until we get one or you make one.
>>
>>93453250
So don't talk about it. If it wasn't made here it shouldn't be discussed here. Simple. You can go ask questions about it somewhere else or make the jump if you want to discuss it here.

Jumper is going to be taking a stride to the Imperial Palace and take out Palpatine. Then he will just hope that by having 'Pain is the best teacher.' (Super Mario Bros), Cunning + Luck of the Devil (Phantom Blood) and several social Excellencies and a couple bureaucratic charms, the Empire won't collapse shortly afterwards.

Then it's back to space feudalism with Siths as space nobility.

They are a custom built servitor race of the Old Ones who probably worked like a low level computer network with the Slann acting as major server nodes. Of fucking course their going to be generally better than the average human, they'd lose to the outliers without mass priest magic but still on a general level the preist cast are trained and led by the Slann so would have a higher baseline level of esoteric spells

That's not what happens to those who cross jumper, as that wasn't what the original question asked. Those that cross jumper are just treated to the Silverhand method. Their mindstate is ripped from the meat, flensed through by data rippers for anything of worth then locked into a unnetworked computer running a torture simulspace at a couple hundred millions times real space speed. After 5 minutes on the outside then the computer is just turned off and recycled. In essence I see 4750 odd years of digital torture before erasure to be an acceptable price for the doublecrossing my jumper while lowering any risk of a comeback given the whole process takes like 10 minutes from start to finish.

No, they were constantly killing each other and on the verge of collapse. The only reason it worked was they had a strong Jedi order and a militant republic looking to kick down the door the second they fractured. Pretty sure that once Valkorian died then it basically all went to shit as the fought over the ashes even though they could have worked together and smashed the weakened republic.

SHITTY ART

Messier Lorraine, in what I hope is a decent approximation of the artstyle of Keychain of Creation.

ngl I woke up this morning and realized that I'd drawn the head as massive and that my arms were tiny and a whole host of other problems, and the proportions stil look wrong to me but at this point I'm not sure there's much I can do without actually witting down and mathing out how many pixels everything should be, and I'm not quite insane enough to do that. Also I had to do this twice because my computer decided to close the program for no apparent reason the first time I was almost finished.

So, how are your days going?

Well, the major issue is the spell's Target: Dead creature touched. This means that you can't just cast it on yourself at will.

You probably could somehow, yeah. Like in 3.5e you could pull some shenanigans with the Craft Contingent Spell feat to make Reincarnate a contingent effect that triggers on your death to basically become immortal. I'm not sure how you'd pull it off in Pathfinder or later editions of D&D as I'm not as familiar with those but it's likely possible.

I know you said you wanted to make web comics panels one day in the style of keychains. So I'll suggest trying to just draw individual parts of the body with minor edits so to make less work for yourself then just put them together in what ways you need. DAFAQ, why then why let this be part of the elden ring jump? That being said, being a "God" in elden ring IS A FUCKING JOKE.
The best we have is literally Yiquella doing all the crazy shit, like creating a tree, mind control, sleep shit, healing powers and creating needles and things that can destroy outer god influence. He can also manipulate souls and give radahn shape bodies. As a "god" he could only throw around light attacks.
The real reason of reality warping power is literally the elden ring, which gives infinite life-force to resurrect thousands across the entire world that have all been long dead, seal death, seal away a realm and curse beings, alter the laws of the world, change the landscape, alter the laws of life etc. All of that is coming from the elden ring or its power, being a god is only a slight boost. All the good shit Miquella did was when he was an empyrean, and that was also most likely his big brain power. Malenia is just swinging around a sword. When he became a god he:
>put radahns soul back into moghs body and shaped moghs body into radahns og body
>died
Thats all he did. if he wouldnt have destroyed his body he might actually have some more power but well.... the elden ring is the infinite energy machine that lets one become an actual greek god.
ALSO Marika was most likely literal cumdump for hornsent (see altered dancer cloth).

Summary: Elden ring "gods" are a joke

Nah, it's actually superior to a Lich. See, you can set up contingencies in such a way that they trigger in succession. Mind Blank, Reincarnate, Teleport triggering instantaneously a few months after your death. Everybody thinks you're dead and a random level 60 kobold pops into existence on the other side of the continent without anybody noticing.

Either HG/SS or B2/W2, depending on who you ask. Some people might say LA, but others won't count that because it's not a mainline game.
I think S/V could have been good with more polish, mostly related to the performance issues, and more post-game content.

okay so, if I'm getting this:

>>
>>93454082
Given the potions can also cure Sanguinare Vampiris I'm not sure that really tracks when that in and of itself is basically a curse/blessing that directly links you to Molag Bal. I think it's one part game mechanics and such. While it might not be a good example of this Nurelion in Skyrim is clearly sick and dying of something and given he's a literal alchemist then cure disease would have likely helped him out. It might just be old age of course but he honestly doesn't look all that old but that might just be game mechanics again even though Runil looks older than him.
>>
Chainbutt: You get a chain. However, before each jump, you must eat (X^2)^X hardboiled eggs, where X is the number of the jump (thus, 1 egg for jump 2, 16 eggs for jump 2 and so on)

Byproduct is quick and easy and efficient. It doesn't lead to timeline conflicts and the wrangling, it doesn't lead to stable time loops that would create objects or data ex nihilo, it doesn't lead to questionings over prime timeline, it doesn't lead to the whole thing falling apart due to too many branches; if you add more to the system when you aren't allowed to, the system adds negative value to compensate. Everything is kept neat in one folder.

This is a very, very sharp exponential pace; by your seventh jump you're already having to eat trillions of eggs. I am assuming that if they rot, you chainfail because obviously you can't eat them anymore; so, if you don't want a chain that ends very quickly you'll need a perk that can let you consume octillions to duovingillions of eggs at a rapid pace. Not sure if a blast furnace will cut it; I think Universal Paperclips or any jump that allows equally rapid exponential scaling?
>>
>>93454511
Petty sure the MC in Mushoku Tensei creates a nuke spell, given you can get leaky limiter for infinite mana growth you can just get progressively larger nuke spells. It only requires basic knowledge of physics form what I remember, although this is me trying to sift through a discussion on leaky limiter and the magic from that setting from back when the jump was created as I've never read it
>>
Would it be better just to make one perk tiered or have two separate perks if the perks in question do the same thing in the end? One perk lets you make advanced tech that's years ahead of your time as long as you have cutting edge tech and help from a more advanced benefactor and the other basically lets you pull a Ironman and let you build advanced tech in a dingy part of town at the cost of being bulkier if you don't have access to the right shit.

Doesn't say you need to digest them so you could potentially just make a single really small and dense magic ball of egg that sits in your stomach and then you just vanish them once the jump starts. Or you'll be hitting up some esoteric setting early on, Slime Tensei has that pocket dimension gluttony skill doesn't it? That might work

>>
>>93454526
Probably have them seperate, one is basically a learning/reverse engineering perk while the other is just macgyver/jury rigging your way to fancy stuff. They might have the same end result but both do it completely different ways, so unless it's a capstone perk then I'd say split it up
>>
>>93454530
The 100 CP perks for the second origin are mostly done and I have some extra material to shuffle around into other price ranges due to rewriting stuff. Still a long way to go before it's done but decent enough progress for a day's work.
>>
>Blood, Fire, Water, Life

>>
>>93454520
Is there a time limit? Are you provided the eggs or do you need to procure them yourself. Something that can make unlimited eggs would be needed. Maby clones that have bottomless stomachs that eat eggs for you will also work.
>>
>>93454540
I think you're underestimating the egg mass here; the mass of the Moon is around 7 x 10^22 grams, a mass you achieve by jump 10. It's entirely outside of the paygrade of Harry Potter magic by that point, and it just keeps fucking going, you surpass the Sun by 14; unless you specifically aim for cosmic level jumps you'll be crushed under the egg.
>>
>>93454511
Utsuho's powerset. (Touhou)
Quest for Glory 4&5 has the spell Thermonuclear Blast which does what you think it does.

>Jump All-Star Superman
>Buy the infinite money item
>Eat sixteen eggs
>Jump Meme Seed
>Buy the gold market item
>End chain with only 17 hardboiled eggs eaten
You can not only fulfill the Pact, you can make your own Chain with infinite points.
>>
Is it morally wrong to rewrite Lex Luthor so he always had the world's most beautiful hair so he won't become evil?
>>
>>93454525
nah, he just thinks of the image of a nuke when enhancing his fire spell, he doesent utilize any nuke principles. Worth remembering that the MC of Mushoku Tensei is a highschool dropout.
The idea of using scientifix understanding to use magic isnt really a thing in setting, you can just combine your knowledge of science in how you apply the magic you can use, like using heat produced by fire magic to alter the flow of air in a way you want

but anyway, just growing you mana reserves wont automatically let you do bigger and greater spells, you need to also improve your control over it consistently and figure out how to use it for better and bigger spells. The MC actually had a problem like this for a lot of the story, where he had impossibly large reserves but his knowledge of spells wasnt that noteworthy comparably.

Can't help with that setting, never read or watched anything related to it. But if you're going for the two of each perks per price point then I'd split them, maybe put them into two different origin discount lines if that's fitting with the setting lore so that one origin doesn't just have the same end result perk twice, although to be fair they'd still synergise just fine so it wouldn't matter too much for someone who was going to take both anyways.
>>
>>93454583

Yeah that was the plan. Human and alien origins. with some capstones being Origin locked considering that only Humans Not counting Bemular/Ultraman to my knowledge have the Ultrafactor
>>
>>93454635
No Shard definitely went that fast. He took Nobilis Jump 2, Chuubo Jump 3, and was Theion before jump 10. IT'S JOVER from 2 threads back. One of the other silver haired elves from the season Frieren aired in is in the site's pool of possible targets, and they're at least as loyal as Raphtalia insomuch as putting themselves back into slavery but infinitely better because pure li'l 'stack of untapped druidic magic who is fine being a meido but also open to being married. And some cultivator waifus are dirt cheap if gotten through the jump... And a few random artist OCs/settings got in which kicks a fuckhuge door or two open for the piecemeal AU!character toggle.

Cia for Link from that one Zelda game where she exists. Also DCEU Wonder Woman. She simps so hard for Steve Trevor that she still hasn't gotten over him for nearly forty years after his death even though she only knew him for like a week a most. She was even perfectly willing to rape a dude who was possessed by his ghost even knowing full well that it wasn't actually Steve Trevor's body and that she was violating some random and completely innocent man, though Trevor isn't a MC so I'm not sure if it counts for purposes of the question. Maybe Tsunami for Tenchi from Tenchi Muyo would count? She was willing to potentially risk the entire universe be destroyed rather than give up her feelings for Tenchi during that moment where he was in the middle of ascending as a Big G god and the instability of the process was threatening to destroy the 3rd dimension.

There's Luna from Lunar: Silver Star story as well, she got corrupted and mind controlled by the magic emperor and effectively became the avatar of the Goddess Althena but managed to throw it off because of her love for the MC. I was going to say Sailor Moon for Tuxedo Mask but Sailor Moon is the main character so it doesn't really fit the question. Maybe Sarah from Suikoden 3 counts? She was madly in love with Luc and died alongside him at the end of the game rather than escape (which she easily could have done), and Luc was technically a main character in the game on account of having his own chapter where you played as him. There's Tharja from Fire Emblem Awakening, and also Yuna from Final Fantasy 10 who had an entire game (FFX-2) that was about her going on a world spanning adventure just on the offhand chance of seeing Tidus again. There's also Juvia from Fairy Tail (if you assume Grey to be a co-MC with Natsu) and Hinata from Naruto.

I would like to give the DLC the same treatment. Especially because I have some neat ideas about how to spice some of them up a bit without changing them into something entirely new. But at this point it's a problem for future me.

I'm not planning on taking out any of the DLC Companions. I like the Chorus, though I'm biased towards the Sisters of Battle more than the corrupted version. And I think the DLCs would be a good place to offer people the ability to pick up extra Allies off the list if they want to. Partly because I'm putting a lot of work into expanding the list, so forcing people to pick only one would feel like a waste of effort. And partly because /I/ want more than one from the list.

Its kinda silly that monsters get weapons and armor for free. Oh well. I'm an big old variant Banbaro called Old Growth Banbaro. If you stay in one place, you can eat the sins of an entire region on the map and keep the locals from turning into weapon-immune demons.
If you don't, you get to keep all the demon power from every one you kill instead. That might have side-effects or not, depending on how you interpret various in-game sources.
Plan to end up on all the major players' radar. They want to use you to summon God in the body of a child and then fuse him to their pope, allowing him to prevent the collapse of empires and save mankind from itself forever.

I was reading about Worm on the wiki and have come to the conclusion this is just a JRPG plot with superhero elements
>Evil alien comes to Earth
>Pretends to be a good thing and takes the visage of a godlike being
>Intends to consume the planet for data and then go to the next planet
>Has to be stopped by the plucky band of heroes
>Capitalism is probably in there somewhere
https://youtube.com/watch?v=-5mklM17Nts

>>
>>93455956
I think literally anyone looks like a plucky underdog compared to a giant godlike space monster with like 60,000,000 superpowers. And to my understanding, they do kinda win.

No, but there's a stacked eyes version down in the Chaos section.

>>93455978
During Part 1? It depends on what you mean. The native clans are all going to have different Starting Relationship levels you can buy. There's always going to be a +0 option, but you'll be able to spend points to make diplomacy with them easier for one reason or another. Or gain more points by making things harder.

As it stands right now, I think between the System Damage, the Native Races, and the CP+Discounts granted by your Ally, there's plenty of opportunities to buy the Equipment everyone is going to want to have. Though, admittedly, that might change when I write up the Item section. Thankfully there's a lot of overlap on some of these Allies. Because even doing two Items each would be a nutty long list.
>>
>>93455965
NTA but it's more like a server wide raid boss in a MMO in this case.
>>
>>93455944
No, Worm is an anti-JRPG. It's about how humans are fucking awful, everything in the world is shit, all good is ultimately undone by evil in the end, no one deserves anything they don't make for themselves, the future of humanity is and has always been defined by a minority of individuals and that's actually a good thing (unless they don't agree with you), the Power of Friendship is total bullshit and it's vastly more efficient to just force everyone to do as you say, and when you put people in the dark they become horrible monsters of their own accord and/or make everyone around them into monsters as well. And it ends with a single teenage girl mind controlling everyone in multiple realities into doing her bidding in order to bully and emotionally torment a traumatized alien god into committing suicide out of sheer grief to save the world because she can't beat it through conventional means. And then she gets shot in the head, depowered, and dumped into another universe before everything promptly goes to shit again and undoes what little good she managed to achieve.

The Sisters from the OG were good, but they did irritate me a bit. I get frustrated with OC companions that are obvious references to characters when the jumpmaker doesn't state who the character is meant to reference. I suppose it's just holdover paranoia from Babs and his stupid "tee hee, you didn't pick up on the hints and now you're eternally raped in your sleep" shit, but if a companion is meant to be a knock off of a companion I like knowing who that inspiration was.

So when making a jump for a series, do you just go by memory? Do you use a wiki to help you out? I'm thinking about writing my first jump and I want some pointers.
>>
>>93456047
Honestly that's probably for the best.
>>
>>93456051
Write down what I remember first, wikidive, then pirate the show and watch it all.
>>
>>93456051
I consume the media and make a summary of the plot as well as note down other important stuff, then wiki dive as needed. I would not recommend just going by memory.
>>
>>93456053
Honestly, I agree. Taylor didn't deserve to be put through Ward
>>
>>93456046
>healslut
>reddishit

>>
>>93456051
Depends what it is. But you usually want to play or watch the actual thing. You then take notes for things to make into perks, items and drawbacks as you go through..
>>
>>93456037
I totally get that. From what I heard, he did that a lot. But as far as I know the Chorus is just an eccentric set of Sisters and not actually references to anything. Of course, if I'm wrong, I hope someone will tell me so I can curve things.
>>
>>93456062
Any meme that has gone on longer than it should is redditshit, that you like that particular bit of reddishit is immaterial.
>>
>>93456051
I suggest rewatching the series in questions, even if just hilights and bits first, and writing things and outlines down as you go.
Its fine to start off with memory when just getting the outline and basics done first, but when you get into the nitty gritty and start hammering out the details, the source material is what you're going to end up relying on the most. Wikis should just be for smaller factoids you may have missed, or for looking up sources on interviews and extra materials
>>
>>93456047
Pretty sure he didn't, he just left it vague. He only commented once 'yeah she died, that's why she is in the shardspace and saw Alec'. But he said he was joking and he left it vague, but he likes to answer the opposite of what a theory says as a joke.

>>
>>93456051
Rewatching the series and taking notes is a good way to build and maintain motivation. Wikis can be useful too if you just need to refresh your memory but I don't recommend trying to make a jump for something you haven't played/read at least once. I tried that once and it didn't work out so well.

So I know several options for anti scrying and other forms of anti info gathering.
But does anyone know of something that can be attached to an event/action you do that makes it impossible for anyone to find out who/what did it? Like I was working on my big book of apocalypse combos and I was looking for a way to prevent anyone in setting including time travellers and gods from being able to find out who set off various apocalypse effects.

Comfy jump one or force yourself to improve jump one?
>>

Stardew Valley or Sun Haven.
>>
>>93456051
Watch/read the series once just to enjoy it regularly. Rewatch/read it again while simultaneously making the skeleton (in the case of games, just find a playthrough on YouTube). Check back as needed while fluffing.

This approach works just fine on manga and most games. Not sure if it works as well on longer media that are harder to skim.

Definitely a comfy Jump 1 given the choice. Give yourself time to ease into things. It's a lot to take in. The Chain, visiting other worlds, coming to terms with an omniverse, possibly even dealing with a rush of memories for the first time. Some of that might be easy but it might not be either. Better to get your head on straight somewhere where the worst that happens if you have a bad day is the crops wilt a little or your secretary covers for you.

I mean, I feel like there's not reasonably good reason for the Guild to hunt her down. She stays pretty much confined to El Dorado, she doesn't bother anyone. She's not even hostile when you first encounter her, and you have to actually reach a damage threshold for her to get angry and fight. Plus her work digging out and excavating the tunnels of El Dorado helps uncover previous metals while also producing and engineering more ecosystems and diverse space for many for the endemic wildlife and local Gajalaka clans. All the unique species of Endemics (including the rare Tsuchinokos) you find there would not exist if it weren't for her!
Gold Mommy is an indispensable part of the ecosystem second only to the likes of Val Hazak (who also did nothing wrong and shouldn't have been hunted) and I want to fuck her pasionately. Though that same ecological importance makes me question whether i should grab Canon her or my own OC version.

"What do you think?" I asked Elodie and Grail, showing them two copies of my campaign speech I'd written. "On the one hand. Concise but uplifting primer on phasing out Big Oil for aentropic nature engines, phasing out the education system (and replacing it with brain chips as well as work apprenticeships), phasing out lobbying, cigarettes and the industrial-military complex (and no, Lockheed CANNOT bribe me with a cool plane), and phasing out the American healthcare system and replacing it with medi-gun mounted drones that Amazon is under no circumstances allowed to use"

"I think it's great, actually. Honestly getting Fred Rogers a platform is a fantastic idea" said Elodie, perusing the speech. "it's just...Amazon isn't founded yet"

"Elodie, we both know the moment Bezos gets his grubby hands on my shit he's going to try to use it for evil. Which is why I have to take the napkin first. Alright, I'll erase 'Amazon' and replace it with 'the shadowy corporate powers-that-be'. Grail, what do you think about the speech?"

"I definitely prefer the second version!" said Grail, as Elodie gave her a Look. "The unenlightened masses DESERVE to know free will isn't a right, it's a privilege, and and how pathetic it is their officials need pills to be functional! Despair is the only truth, and freedom isn't free! Although uh, master..." said Grail, perusing a page that started with COMMIES WANT TO EAT YOUR EAGLES written over and over again "...is it really necessary to portray China as basically Apokolips but hungrier? I was under the impression we were trying to subjugate America, not drive it into total panicked anarchy"

"But Grail, it's true" I said blankly.

I stared at the speech I'd calculated would minimise societal tension and the speech I actually wanted to write again. "Oh, what does it matter? Both are laced with enough Linguistics Charms to bring about utopian progress WITHOUT suppressing free will more than these pills already are" I said, making Elodie shut her mouth. As we perused, Grail cocked her head and frowned.

"Master. The darkness in mankind has whispered the name of your enemy. The FBI" she warned me.

"Oho? I've been waiting for this moment" I said, cracking my knuckles. "Commence Operation Truth To Power. I want all 7000 instances of wiretapping-based domestic surveillance leaked to the general public. Then I want a summary of all COINTELPRO tactics leaked to the hippies, the emergent African-American movements and basically all universities. Then I want comprehensive documentation of their involvement in Latin America painted in such a light as to portray them as inadvertently aiding and abetting the Communist scourge in their bumbling attempts to manipulate it. Finally, I want MKULTRA leaked"

"Yes, master! Let the FBI know the TRUE terror of state surveillance!" said Grail, cackling as she stalked off to use the Anti-Life Equation's literal shadow people army for carrying out truly untraceable deeds.

"Is...is all of that true? I thought this was supposed to be the freedom country..." muttered Elodie.

"Oh sweet summer Elodie. Truth is what's left when the money runs out, and if I don't take the napkin certain covert interests will ensure it never will. For them, and them alone"

Exactly 3 days after Operation Truth To Power, the FBI sent me a formal apology and begged me not to leak anything else. I agreed in exchange for them forming a clandestine unit to regulate any emergent intelligence-enhancing drugs.

Admittedly, Generic Dungeon Builder and Shaman King might sound like odd choices. But the former can be pretty peaceful if you pick up the Consequence Tablet or set yourself up as a Dungeon to train novice adventurers. Plus it gives you an ever-evolving base of operations for later on in the Chain. The latter is a shonen, admittedly, but tons of shamans in it don't participate in the War and do just fine. Just be one of those. Slowly grow your power by experimentation rather than dramatic combat. Pal around with friendly ghosts. Go on a road trip. There's lots of fun to be had there without danger.

Also all exorcists are by necessity slavers that mind control / mind rape the spirits / people that they enslave that allow them to use magic. That's very much not how it's presented in setting but that's what's going on. Expect to immediately become a priority target for the Church and basically every other faction in the world if it becomes known you are a Therion.

I love the Sororitas, their mission and aesthetic. I just don't know how to justify them in a chain where you aren't an E worshipper, though. Wouldn't they just torch you if you didn't worship the Big E or did anything heretical in the eyes of his cult of worship?
>>
>>93455823
There's a power in The Gamer that lets you do all sorts of supernatural stuff so long as you've got cash to spend. If you pick up that one item from that one Superman jump we've got (forgot the name) that gives you infinite money it lets you do all sorts of crazy shit basically as much as you want. There's also the magic armor from a few of the Zelda jumps (I couldn't tell you specifically which one because there's so many) that basically makes you invulnerable to damage by paying cash to prevent damage. There's also a perk in Saint's Row that lets you instantly learn stuff by paying money, and I think the original Skyrim jump by CCDT also had a perk for paying people money to quickly learn skills?

>>
>>93456400
If you want to get technical, there's a cult of worship based on Ciaphus Cain out there in the universe that went through all the legal channels to become a non-heretical religion in the Imperium. So it's not impossible to have a different faith and still have the Sisters not apply Flamers liberally.

There's also the Salamanders and Space Wolves that both have their own versions of Emperor worship yet are not judged to be heretics.

Personally, my strategy has always been to recruit the Choir and have them form the nucleus of a new Order of the Sisterhood. Same aesthetics, same zeal, but with a group that unorthodox you could probably keep them from being so deeply entrenched in the Emperor's worship that it becomes their whole personality.

If I actually plan on making a jump I'll either watch the series or a long-play of it if it's a game I don't have. If it's a game I *do* have I'll probably know if I want to make a jump for it while I'm playing and will just take notes as I go.

Literally just bring them to the Horus Heresy and have Big E tell them himself that he doesn't want to be worshipped. Or find Great Crusade-era stuff (like in the Black Crusade jumps) that shows the same thing. Use charisma/intelligence perks to convince them that its true.
>>
>>93456117
Sidereal shenanigans from Exalted could probably do it. It involved breaking one of the constellations but even in setting no one can *prove* the Sidereals masterminded the usurpation even that it's pretty obvious to anyone that knows enough about the situation that it must have been them.

One of them makes you easily one of the strongest people in the setting, if not the strongest outright.
>The Beast of Legends (600cp)
>Tamamo-no-Mae, Shuten-douji, and the Emperor Sutoku are considered the Three Great Evils of Japan, whose mere presence is enough to scatter humans and Ayakashi before them in waves, with countless Demons Slayers falling to them. Not only their power was great, but versatile as well, possessing more powers than a hundred Ayakashis combined and only growing stronger if left to themselves. Now, their number has increased by one be you a legend lost to time or an anomaly in this age where everything has fallen so far. No merely a fragment of past glories but a being whose might can lay countries to ruin while drowning the world in terror and destruction with your every step. It would take a mighty demon slayer indeed to lay you low, and their like has not been seen in this world in many a century.

I guess it depends on if you want big personal power or the ability to be the ultra wealthy mastermind behind all the secret plots and plans. Personally I think the later is more useful in the long run since personal power only matters in contexts where you're actually required to personally fight. It's useful to have, perhaps even critical in some situations, but the super rich mastermind perk is going to be far more useful in general because it's applicable to far more situations. Plus if you're good enough at it it's unlikely anyone will every confront you directly anyway, either because they don't know to target you or because you arranged for someone/something else to deal with them before they could get to you.

After taking a shower and giving it some thought, I supposed I could remove some of my Perks and things and slot in more Monster Companions and have myself a MonHun harem. If I can fit all the ones I want, I was thinking a Harem of

>Ahtal-Ka as nerdy engineer girl. Human form looks Egyptian
>Tobi Kadachi as the smug brat

Good sized Harem, fills in many niches, but keeps in room for any future companions

"Am I late? SHIT, I'm totally late aren't I. Last time I was here the Avengers were...still a thing" trailed off Wade Wilson as he stared me down at the interview table. "Huh. How about that. You've uh. You've been keeping busy eh, buddy? Got some promotions, that sort of thing?"

"You could say that"

"So I hear this one guy in your organisation, Paradox-"

"Paradox is perfectly happy with his job now that I've made clear I intend to fully optimise this multiverse. Every multiverse"

"-okay, right, well you'll never BELIEVE who he's been getting in touch with-"

"Cassandra Nova? Oh, I'm aware of her unorthodox employment. She's a good worker. I've arranged visitation rights with her brother, just to see how the other side lives"

"-okay, sweet, sweet" said Wade nervously. "And I see you're still doing that thing where you just. Don't call people by their superhero names! You know, just like when we used to hang out, right buddy?"

"I see true names, not codenames"

"Right this isn't going anywhere. Look, I'll be honest" he grumbled, "I REALLY want to get laid and I can't until I get a respectable job so I was REALLY hoping I could leverage being a funny voice in your head for some nepotism but I wasn't expecting you to disassemble the Avengers before Disney did it so...ya got anything else?"

I made a show of checking our jobs listing. "The position of Ambassador to the Void is currently unfilled" I said.

"Really?! T-that's great! I totally have a degree in being an ambassador that I totally have written on my CV, somewhere-"

"Wade, I'll be honest. The flow of causality dictates that if I don't give you a job AND fail to wipe your free will or obliterate you, you're going to dig up Wolverine's corpse, break one of my minions' nose and set in motion events that will lead to the destruction of the multiverse"

"Uh...I'm sorry?"

"I don't want to waste my time with that shit. So congratulations. You're hired" I said, shaking his hand.

"Wha-seriously?! OH! JOY!" he said, glomping me. "You're the BEST interdimensional conqueror I've ever narrated for!"

I considered that statement. "Well I mean...I have never jobbed to ants or arrows" I said, prying him off me.

As Wade strutted off, happy and fulfilled to have a gimmicky job he could fuck around in while still telling people he was technically a government-sanctioned superhero, he suddenly turned around and screamed "TRY KEKING ME AGAIN, KEVIN, SEE WHAT HAPPENS" at the camera. I returned to my paperwork, freed from the stress of 4th wall meta shenanigans at last-

-"Oh hi, is this the casting couch?" said a blonde in an uncannily familiar costume as she leapt out of a portal and landed on the sofa. "My genderswapped counterpart told me you're hiring and I'm TOTALLY in the mood for some simultaneously sexist, nepotistic AND affirmative action hiring procedures if you know what I mean. And okay, okay hold on" she said defensively, "I DIDN'T bring my CV and I'm totally a dirty murderhobo but I'm ALSO a dirty murderhobo who's exactly as twisted as Dudepool but like, without a penis. Just food for thought!"

"Fuck you, Deadpool"

"That's the idea, yeah"

Also wore my hair down, so as to further differentiate me from Blaze, instead of that cropped topknot deal she has. The Recolor drawback in the jump says the other characters look down on you for it, but the games and comics have pretty unanimously taught me that is not the case, so I fanwanked that it just made my jumper incredibly self-conscious about it and only thought the cast looked down on her.

I feel like in part it was to set up the gag of Wolvie and Deadpool just walking away unscathed from fucking matter-antimatter meeting. The other thing that annoyed me about the ending was Wolvie was about to have a perfectly good sendoff but they just hand to have Deadpool keep drawing out the gag of him getting in first. Like, fuck dude, the whole movie felt like Ryan Reynolds was given a script and told he could be THIS edgy but absolutely no further and that events had to fit within a Marvel formula as rote as the one in Quantumania. Don't get me wrong, at the very least Reynolds and Jackman's passion definitely comes across in things like Wolverine giving Deadpool a no-bullshit scolding, but it makes the movie come off like a very calculated concession trying to distract you with gore and gags and keeping the actual substance to a minimum. Like the movie equivalent of a corporate apology letter

They absolutely fucked the ending with the dinner scene. Not letting Jackman walk away, particularly in light of the fact that they brought Logan the character back at all after Logan the movie, was the wrong move. Snipes making his "there will never be another Blade" comment was fucking great. Snipes in general was fucking fantastic.

To be honest, this has gotta just be incompetence. If you can kill half the universe from anywhere with these things you'd have to be an absolute dumbass to ever even fight someone. Put yourself in some sort of invincible reality/space cube that also mind controls people to not go near it and then kill them from the other side of the universe.

This is the power of stacked DEI buffs. Even those aren't 100% reliable against author fiat though, a deaf woman of color fought Icarus the woobie white man and lost because the director was asian, female and blatantly writing Sersi to be her self-insert. Also honestly this makes the fact that Strange Supreme was actually winning against multiple women, one of whom was not only of color but literally the recent victim of ACTUAL colonisers, but ACTUALLY accomplished his objective AND had to be taken down by him rebelling against his own literal demons. It wasn't even a complete moral victory, because even though Peggy called out to the good man buried beneath his pain and regret it was HIS resolve that ultimately stopped the megademons from taking back control.

The moral, kids, is that even though DEI buffs/debuffs are part of the meta so is actor favouritism. And too many women like Benedict Cumberbatch for him to be written off easily.

nta but becoming a shadow is a flat upgrade. Not only does it allow people to grow even beyond their original limits but it also allows them to infinitely regenerate so long as the shadow monarch's mana holds out, and he's got a metric fuckload of mana. Plus only attacks that can directly damage or destroy their spiritual essence / soul have any hope of actually putting them down permanently so any death they do suffer they can just come right back from as long as it wasn't a soul destroying attack. That's not even getting into the bonuses they get if the shadow monarch extends his domain over the area, or the fact they can be given equipment which will just start regenerating with them. The shadow army of the shadow monarch is ridiculously busted, especially since they get to keep everything they had in life (including equipment they died with). They fucked it up because they decided to introduce fourteen different new characters in the same movie *before* even discussing they also had to come up with villains. Character bloat prevented them from properly developing anyone and so everything seems rushed and no one really cares about anything. Unlike other MCU movies Eternals did not have the benefit of its cast having appeared in earlier movies and so had to do all the character build up and exposition in a single film which completely destroyed their ability to write a script that could actually do justice to the massive cast of characters being introduced. Eternals should have been its own trilogy, introducing and developing a few characters at a time and eventually culminating at the end of the 3rd movie after everything was fully established. Unfortunately the people behind it appeared to have victory disease and did not imagine that an MCU movie could flop and so did not bother to actually put in the effort to develop the story properly. As a result instead of being tied into the MCU and opening up a bunch of interesting new potential plot threads the Eternals movie is so inconsequential that it can effectively be ignored entirely, to the point that the only reference to it in the rest of the MCU is an easily missed easter egg where there's a social media post in the background asking why there's a giant hand sticking up out of the ocean.

I have to stress, they also fucked up with how they handled the Bollywood shit. In both this AND The Marvels, it's basically a gag halfheartedly trying to be heartwarming but they just can't stop treating it as a gag. As a funny thing that's supposed to show like, look how whacky this actual alien who coincidentally is played by a non-white is.

Compare that to RRR, Baahubali, ANYTHING actually Bollywood/Tollywood where the actors put their heart and fucking soul into belting out lyrics about how they're willing to die for what they believe in. Fuckssake forget everything else, song and dance numbers were what made Disney BIG once upon a time and they can't even do that right anymore.

>>93457336
Nope, all shadows can grow stronger. Igris does, Axe Dude does, the bear does, all of the protag's shadows get stronger over time. As I said it's super busted, especially in setting, because it can explicitly allow people to grow more powerful than they were while alive. The axe guy for example was just an average A-rank tank prior to his death but he was easily a high S-rank by the time the series ended. That might not sound like much but an S-rank healer with shit physical abilities can easily overpower an A-rank fighter with basically no effort, and axe guy went from an a-rank tank to a high s-rank tank. Something which explicitly should be impossible because people don't grow in power in Solo Leveling, what they get when they awaken is what they have forever outside of one specific outlier in the form of Norma who has a power that can raise the potential power of someone she uses it on by up to around 30% total if she uses it on them three times (which is the max it can be used on one person).

I know nothing about Shadow Monarch, but if it matters even though there even though Oryx needs to individually blip people into Taken, Books of Sorrow implies there isn't much of a SIZE limit on who can be taken. One of the Taken victims was allegedly some kind of giant space bird big enough to attack entire war moons with it's talons. Oryx ended up with a moon-sized Taken under his command.

(This is assuming this wasn't Hive propaganda, since parts of the Books of Sorrow have been confirmed to be either lies i.e. everything to do with the Witness, from the syzygy being it's idea not the Worm Gods' to the fact that presumably the Witness was the one calling the shots all along but just...didn't get involved in Oryx's life enough to crimp his style. Presumably)

That aside, the Witness' level of Taking mastery let it Take every planet in the Solar System in moments prior to it's proper arrival with Earth only being an exception because of the Traveller. That said Taking a planet seems to just shunt it into the Ascendant Realm rather than actually enslave it since some of them come back and they're fine.

>>93457386
Totally.

>>93457396
I mean it literally transplants part of the Winnower onto your soul.
>>
>>93457417
>there isn't much of a SIZE limit on who can be taken
Shadow Monarch stuff is literally just necromancy. No size limit either. Plus, theoretically infinite growth through their own nature + a gamer system.
>That said Taking a planet seems to just shunt it into the Ascendant Realm rather than actually enslave it since some of them come back and they're fine
IIRC Taking is just shoving a mf into the Ascendant Realm, and letting "nature" take its course. You can direct it, but if its not alive (due to, yknow, being a hunk of rock), it can't exactly "evolve"
>>
>>93457393
Basically it's a special Darkness power where you rip someone out of normal space, dip them in the Ascendant realm, restructure their existence into a self-contained reality, and pull them back out as your immortal and empowered slaves. Killing them just banishes them briefly back to the Ascendant Realm, where they can return effectively at will and at no real cost to the creator. It takes extreme efforts of either Light, Darkness, or other paracausal powers to genuinely permakill a Taken, and it also requires immense paracausal might to RESIST being Taken. Without that, the user can effectively Take whatever the hell they want. Smol child? Easy. Moon-sized phoenix? Same amount of effort. Entire fucking planets? We've only seen the Witness do that, but it at the very least shows it's possible.

The real tricks up Taking's sleeves is the fact that it permanently empowers whatever is Taken by it, and that those Taken can also grow stronger with time and effort-or just time, it's not exactly clear. Empowerment comes in a lot of forms-from glitching around at high speeds, suddenly splitting into multiple entities with no loss of strength, and other weirder things. And while most Taken lack any sort of personality or individuality, that's explicitly noted as being a consequence of Oryx deciding to shape his Taken that way; WHEN he wants to, he was fully capable of Taking people and ensuring they retain their personality and will. So at absolute bare minimum, you can Take someone without turning them into your absolute slave if you feel like it. Taken (heh) to its logical conclusion, you can redefine their existence as you please and reshape them to your will as you Take them...so you can totally genderbend and waifu-fy anything you Take if you want to. Just putting it out there.
>>
>>93457417
>I mean it literally transplants part of the Winnower onto your soul.
Amazing. I'm sure absolutely no one with a soul-sensing or mind-reading ability will shit themselves upon entering a million-mile radius around me.
>>
>>93457416
There's a metaphor about riding a tiger and preferring to stay on the tiger lest it turn around and eat you in the Discworld's Going Postal that I feel reflects what is probably going on in the Disney boardrooms right now. I haven't taken the alleged push seriously because they've put so much money into everything by now, revolting would probably cost more than what they think they can make back with as easy a sell as Deadpool and Wolverine.

I mean think about it like investing in a memecoin. Your stocks are already attached to the Mouse, do you risk going against either Bob and everyone still loyal to him with the meme red man's movie is about to come out, or do you hold and hope that you can recoup whatever Disney lost from Star Wars? Super, SUPER sunk cost fallacy

>>93457430
Huh, alright.

>just shoving a mf
>Taking involves reforming matter in a self-contained reality, where the creator defines past, present, and future; imagine how a more insightful being could expand these definitions, to different ends. Overcoming a target's will must consume a large portion of energy. What if you used that energy for larger shifts in reality? You could teleport an army into a Hive mothership…move a fleet outside time and space…perhaps even alter a moon's orbit, devastating the planet below. The military applications could be far graver than simply creating an army.
According to Ikora's Ghost Ophiuncus, the target is also "remodelled" by another will (presumably the Witness). It's possible that the effects are subtler on an inert object than a living being, though really the writers didn't think about that too hard, they just wanted Guardians to go fishing and play with the big sea serpent.
>>

I thought those drop in perks made you like Adam and Eve, who are basically enchanced robot?
>>
>>93457440
>the target is also "remodelled" by another will (presumably the Witness).
I figured it was whoever was doing the Taking (the whole "take up this knife" bit) plus the Ascendant Realm being basically seeped in Winnower. Like, Oryx gave Taken Knights their napalm breath, but just being dipped into the Ascendant Realm gave them a general paracausal buff.
>>
>>93457440
Quick check; anything stopping me from innately imbuing my Taken with Sword Logic so that they constantly grow stronger whenever I actually use them as an army to go kill things? Anything stopping me from further having them Tithe to me their Sword Logic?

...Given their immortal nature, would it be possible for me to basically summon a bunch of Taken with Sword Logic, have them all fight to the death, then summon them back and just...keep doing that as a way to grind Sword Logic?

No, no and unclear. I believe the first two is exactly what Oryx did to give himself an extra tithe flow. I'm not sure the latter has been tested. The Hive did try something similar with Nightmares to try and resurrect Oryx later but those technically weren't Taken.

I feel like this isn't how it works, but I seriously cannot think of a counterargument. The Winnower's a giant WAACfag so it wouldn't nerf any exploit (like this one), maybe the Witness gets more butthurt that you found something it didn't and tries sabotage?

Theoretically it's perfectly in-line with canonical exploits in the Sword Logic that have been done before. In the Book of Sorrows we know that Oryx, Savathun, and Xivu Arath frequently fought and killed each other in the normal world to help "sharpen" each other, and the Worms also frequently kill each other as a form of sustenance (I think?). And we literally see Savathun get revived by a Ghost, killed by Eris Morn, and promptly revived with no ill effects-and this is enough to massively fuel Eris's Sword Logic to make her superior to every Hive God ever. Immortal beings killing each other for Fun and Sword Logic has been shown to be an effective powerup method.

I finally created the Worm build. The concept is pretty simple - the ghost eats the companions, which has virtually no downside since companions respawn anyways. Jumper then uses the contractor power to give people powers and eat them for unlimited power farming. If this is too cheese-y, an alternative is just being able to farm 5 powers, one of which is a power that allows him to fuse with the ghost. Once he's fused with the ghost he's gonna snowball until he can take out the small crystal monsters and the giant crystal monster after concocting the world's most depressing speech and getting the dude to just let him do it.

>The Harmony
Crystalline species capable of self-propelled spaceflight and telepathic FTL communication. Formerly vulnerable to Endless Space' Dust. After significant augmentations ranging from Crystal Gem enhancement to SWLIHN Essence infusion, they've become premier wielders of weaponised music. Scouring galactic clusters clean with the music of the spheres, or raising new garden worlds from their ashes.

>The Para-Archons
Living idea war machines composed from a hybrid of Apokoliptan biomechanics, the Beyonders' Mapmaker technology, and Velber Anti-Cells. They start as ideas seeded into civilisations that are subconsciously primed to built machine-like constructs feeding on their own level of technological development, that inevitably adapt beyond their control and follow my designs. Rivals|allies with the Vex and Bydo collectives.

>The Neutronium Golems
Superweapon species capable of building it's own neutronium-chem and inscribing a name of God upon it to create more of their own. My "infantry" of choice for invading Great Old One-controlled realities.

>The Timeshipgirls
A "fleet" of Azure Lane cube-enhanced timeships supported by Jurai Tree/Cabbit naturally-compressed reinforcements. Simply put, they're TARDISes with a metaphysical gacha system built into them which allows for more and more powerful shipgirls to be synthesised over time, until a Moment can be created.

>The Living Shapes
"Hyper real" entities bred from Flatland stock but exposed to a paranatural entity similar to Hedron (my choice of Generic Paranormal Romance was basically a romantic version of Control) and given additional resonance-based dimensions. Primarily supports other units by maintaining and guarding a vast extradimensional space and handing out upgrades/weapons/powerups from afar. Capable of allowing a man with a gun to counter an apocalypse at it's source.

I am looking for both, a lot of time physical training in fiction to achieve certain abilities takes a long ass time even if the muscles dont grow notably.

I'll just be a bit more clear what I am planning. I want my jumper to essentially be some super martial artist and throughout his chain find weak people and mentor them for a short period of time(a few months to a year max) to help them become notable people by quickly reach their peak physique, help them quickly master some martial arts and probably teach them a bunch of supernatural martial arts like the Rokushiki from One Piece, the breathing technqiue flash step from Fate Japan or even a number of battle aura/ki/chakra systems.
Knowledge transfer has its place, but its not really enough for what I am after.
>Have you considered healing magics
could help to with some aspects, but not really for all of them. You'd also have to find a version that replensihes the bodies stamina as well, or find some way to increase the rate at which the body metabolizes food notably.

>find weak people and mentor them for a short period of time(a few months to a year max) to help them become notable people by quickly reach their peak physique,
Ahh. How about a combination of All-Star Training from Batman The Animated Series with You Will Forget What Hollywood Taught you and the entire Combat perkline from Metal Gear Solid?

>All-Star Training (600 CP)- Good training is the difference between you and everyone else; it helps that you learn and master new skills absurdly quick. When you dedicate yourself to learning a skill, you’ll learn at a rate that’s ten times faster than that of a normal human. You’re also capable of sharing some of your capability to learn with others, training them to a point near your level much easier and faster than any other master.

>You will forget what Hollywood taught you 200cp: In addition, you will have an easier time training those under you to effectively carry out your dream, through combat or otherwise. Rule of thumb is, assuming the person has the potential for it, but no prior experience, he/she can learn any 100cp perk from this jump in a year, 200cp in 3 years, 400cp in 6, and capstones in 8

>IT’S NOT OVER YET 400cp: Through improved resilience and plain old stubbornness, you can survive things that would break most men. Injuries are business as usual for you, as long as the affected area still works you can fight with it. Additionally, you are nigh-impervious to torture, even over extended periods.

>CQC 600cp: Close Quarters Combat, a martial art for the modern age developed by legendary soldiers The Boss and Naked Snake. You've managed to surpass the basic understanding shown by many soldiers and achieve true mastery. Your skill and spatial awareness has reached the point where you can floor a 4-man fireteam before they can even react. Grants peak-human strength with IT’S NOT OVER YET

nta, but the Freak of Nature experience tier trivializes most stuff, for 1000CP, like it can literally boost a 100CP perk like Ninjutsu specialty into giving you as much ninjutsu versatility as Hiruzen.
Combined with Meta-Knowledge soloing the setting really isn't that hard, since you can prevent stuff like the return of Madara/Kaguya. It can even be pretty easy if you just take 100-300Cp in drawbacks to give you stuff like Hashirama Level Chakra reserves or Kabuto Level Edo Tensei.

not really a genuine point here, since you can use all your floating discounts to get freebie perks, which are then boosted by that expensive purchase.
Like you still get 7 options of your choice, boosted to immense levels. Not even accounting for the stipend and floating discounts in the item section.
>>
So is going all in on the psychic powers the way to go in Saga of the Exiles jump (Saga of Pliocene Exile book)? I mean the tech and science based perks are all pretty cool, the unified field theory one especially, but the sheer ability offered in the metapsychic section is a bit too tempting.

nta, but at one Point Jack Slash got his hand on the baby Aster(the daughter of Kaiser and Purity) again during the S9000 arc, when everyone knew that he was gonna cause the end of the world, but nobody knew how, and he was about to run away with his team, so Taylor shot Aster, knowing that this will spare her from either getting tortured to death or from being tortured into triggering(Aster being the child of a second Gen Cape would have an easy time triggering) in a way that could doom the world.

Worm humanity is eventually going figure out how to break people out of grayboy loops (or the loop will run out of power on it's own) and by that point they'll have hyper advanced technology that can erase all the negative mental effects. Long term getting stuck in a loop is a good outcome.

Can't Parian create a flesh golem that can stall the Endbringers? There's one option, otherwise just have Thanatos kill Manton and Spree, or any other mass cloning cape, and you'd have a construct that can't be harmed and can spawn endless copies of itself. You might need to kill Taylor to get a multitasking power but after that you're basically unbeatable to anyone not named Scion.

>Didn't legend drive him off?
Yes but we don't know clearly how he works, we only know the requirements to fight him are better invulnerability than Alexandria, a special brain system and mass destruction ability, his storm was capable to defeat Ziz.

so it means they are still thematically close enough, so even if it's not one for one you'd instead just have a couple hundred alexandria level constructs that can grant some level of protection to yourself. I don't really see what you're trying to point out here unless you're trying to imply that killing Manton would just give you the projection a really low level brute rating in which case that's not how the power is written to work.
>>
>>93458664
It could easily give only the project the ability to ignore physics, with no ability to protect you. Or conversely it might give it the ability to protect people it touches but no defenses of its own, meaning an Endbringer steps on you both once, it pops, then steps on you again and you die before you can resummon it, or it could only make the projection allies it touches into unstoppable forces without also making them invincible. You're gambling too much on a partial power-copying ability that you won't know the details of beforehand.

>>93458664
>>93458597
Went 4plebs diving becuase I remembered Worm has answered this before about what guideline sto use if you use Thanatos on Manton, also Endbringer result in the same post so I might as well add both

>>47251457
>It would depend. Personally I'd say it integrates some aspects of the siberian projection to improve itself, though it getting it's own strange projection ability is also possible. Thanatos is pretty open in HOW it improves. Just note that it's not necessarily one to one copying of stuff. It's operating off of a paradigm of dissecting things for useful qualities and then adapting those qualities to improve itself in some manner. Those improvements can actually seem pretty different in how they manifest. Sort of like a second trigger, related but not the exact same. It depends on the exact circumstances. He might upgrade itself based on endbringer physiology, just go the easy route and scan it's abilities and duplicate them in some form, etc. Granted, if you managed to get it to kill an endbringer that would be one insane upgrade. The change would definitely be great enough that it might as well be a whole new projection.
>>
>>93458463
The initial Thanathos rampage has very high chances of going quite wrong. You could bet that Cauldron would try to keep you alive like they do with other big villains in case you could be useful for them in the final fight, but they also don't want anyone culling the numbers too much. They would also not let you easily kill Triumvirate or other big name capes that they are hoping to throw.
>>
>>93458706
I mean if you use outside knowledge then the fact you're an infinite growth cape then you could probably get Contessa to grab Echidna and just feed her capes who you then kill. You'd end up with multiple variations of a power spawning from Echidna so even with just one cape at a time you'll end up with a bunch of upgrades simply due to how the corrupted spawning method works. Or you could just go the S9000 method yourself and kill a couple of tinkers till you've got a broad enough set of specialties to work on it. In Brockton itself you've got, just from the villains, Leet, Squeeler, Trainwreck, Chariot (does he join the wards as a Coil plant or am I mixing up the fictional stuff) and Bakuda. That's a massive set of potential tinker specialities and even if Thanatos changes them you'd still get enough from all of those to do something useful or use it as a jumping point into other Tinkers or powers.

Hiruzen isn't really at the top of the powerscale, even if you only take into account the antagonists present at the start.
Itachi, Pain, Jiraiya, even Orochimaru and some of the Akatsuki's more underwhelming members tend to have trump cards which very strong and well-developed foundations (like those provided with 100-pointers and Freak of Nature) can't easily beat.
You need the fancier stuff given by higher level perks combined with a strong power tier to actually handle the setting.

>>93458792
>Initially, Blasto tried splicing a seed with some of the Simurgh's feathers; however, the emerging lifeform was not viable.[25] He then tried to sustain the Endbringer tissue with other living tissues; he spliced a seed with a sample of Myrddin's brain tissue[5] and fragments of the Simurgh's feather.[26] After placing this seed in a glass tube containing a high-nutrient solution, it started forming two bodies. He killed the one with wings rather than legs; the survivor had four arms but two that resembled wings.[2] Once this survivor split into three developing fetal forms via an electric charge to reset the life cycle, Blasto then killed unwanted offshoots to get the results he wanted.[27] After resetting the life cycle with the chosen survivor, it started to resemble the Simurgh; however, it was hermaphroditic, had flesh more translucent than white, and had brown-black feathers and hair.[9] Once this survivor split in half to start forming anew,[10] Blasto estimated that it would be at least a day before he had a fully grown creation.[28] He then watched the results and saw a survivor forming two arms, two legs, and vestigial wings. After letting it develop until it was biologically around two months old, Blasto killed the offshoots and repeated the above process, picking through results to fine-tune internal changes

What I need help with is how I will actually low-key help Spidey by having him try (and fail) to beat me up in the process of dealing with whatever nonsense I get up to. And how I will ensure that Spidey consistently sees me as a villain that he has to personally deal with rather than just letting someone else do it or just figure out that I'm not actually a threat to people and am generally just fucking with him specifically.

To be fair, so far in the MCU:

>The Mandarin first turned out to be an evil white nerd with absolutely no mystical powers whatsoever, then turned out to be an asian man with nothing against Tony Stark nor any desire for his weapons that had literally no connection to him and whose goal amounted to being catfished by a generic demon dragon
>Loki, instead of being the cunning God of Lies, has consistently been a jumpy knife fighter who still tries to look Asgardian long after everyone knows he's half-frost giant and kneels repeatedly to his alternate universe female counterpart
>Hela is Odin's daughter and she controls the "necroswords"
>There is also another necrosword out there that is just it's own thing
>Ego is a Celestial (allegedly), Star Lord is his son, and his motivation is he thinks subsuming the universe will give his life meaning
>Thanos doesn't love death; in fact his excuse for committing atrocities to satiate his ego is that he fucking hates it
>Dr. Strange isn't the Sorcerer Supreme because the writers feel bad about Wong being his lackey in the comics or something; Mordo is completely irrelevant
>Black Panther canonically died offscreen from an unnamed illness that all of Wakandan science was unable to cure (so, canonically worse than actual cancer), and Man-Ape/M'Baku was only an enemy for like the first 30 minutes of his movie and spent all his screentime onwards as one of his best friends
>Killmonger died with something akin to having a point instead of just being a bloodthirsty supervillain
>Taskmaster is a disabled woman
>Ikaris committed suicide because he couldn't reconcile his loyalty to the Celestials with his yellow fever for azn Sersi
>She-Hulk chewed out her cousin for not understanding women face harsher anger management issues than being hunted by the US government for years
>The Abomination is friends with Wong
I think we're kind of past the point where unmasking Doom would be a particularly standout out of character moment.

The MCU has one hell of a problem with keep characters masked. I think the only one that remains consistently in the mask is Deadpool, which is annoying as hell because the mask is a superhero's face for fuck's sake
>>
>>93459321
Kishimoto's original intention was for Naruto to unironically be the nine-tailed fox being raised by a magical sage (the hokage), but he decided against that.

To be fair he does spend a lot of time unmasked, but that's mainly during his civilian downtime moments when the movie can make fun of how he looks and/or try for a little pathos.

Stop whenever they reveal whoever the Thor 5 villain is, I guess? Because after the absurd escalation of Gorr I think there's a non-zero chance they go for Those Who Sit Above In Shadow (or rather, the bastardised MCU attempt at them) next.

And we're gonna see these cosmic predators being blown up by an 80s rock montage, but not in a cool way.

Sadly Films are a bad medium for masked characters, since pr teams want people to see the famous person behind the mask as much as possible. Hell they even included tons of scenes in ironman of us seeing RFJ's face inside the suit.

I just dont see them allowing Doom to keep his mask on for much time.

It was sitting there for a billion years behind the crystal wall. It was waiting while the Doctor spent 700 years in Trenzalore.

>TARDIS explodes during 11's run, the universe ends and the Doctor has to reboot it
>Sutekh, while presumably hanging onto fragments of exploded TARDIS: "Just as planned"

>>93459454
That's just it. Sutekh is already a universe-level threat without the Time Vortex DBZ powerup, and I wish RTD had just used the Beast or something instead of blatantly foreshadowing that Mrs. Flood is the Beast's current host (literally declares she's going to try taking a swing at Heaven after dying) so Ncuti has a new cosmic villain to fight next season

>>93459577
Sutekh was probably sucked partway up into House while it was eating the TARDIS, and the reason he didn't eat the TARDIS quicker was because he suffered cosmic constipation

When the Doctor died in Turn Left and the TARDIS lost the will to live, Sutekh was frantically giving it CPR

During Journey to the Center of the TARDIS, Sutekh was screaming at the Doctor for being a retard and not just using any number of bullshit Time Lord gadgets to delete the scavengers sabotaging their house

In The Light At The End, the TARDIS was erased from existence by a conceptual bomb that the Master planted in a normie causing him to Paradox it out of existence when he went in, but Sutekh just kept clinging to the TARDIS' lack of existence

In some ways, Sutekh was the Doctor's most dedicated companion of them all.

(Also Sutekh's entire plan was to fuck with the Doctor specifically by making his angels of death all be women named "Susan" just to remind him of his granddaughter, and despite having greater power than nearly every Whoverse deity he somehow cannot tell the difference between an abandoned British baby and a cosmic mystery beyond all comprehension, and the sheer force of his curiosity imprinted Christmas effects on a random girl's very existence)

Clearly Sutekh took the Jack's Closet drawback from Stargate, which puts you in that setting's Jack's closet (and was fanwanked by everyone to put you in the nearest equivalent to Jack in other settings). Clearly the powers that be decided Jack Harkness was the closest equivalent in Doctor Who, and that the TARDIS counted as his closet.

Furthermore, remember that in Utopia Jack Harkness was clinging to the edge of the TARDIS for an unspecified amount of time trying to reunite with 10, and that Sutekh is canonically described as the father/mother/other of the gods. And knowing what Jack Harkness is about, there is a non-zero chance that the Toymaker, the Mara, the Trickster and so on all came from 1. Sutekh impregnating Jack, 2. Jack impregnating Sutekh or 3. both, while the two of them got to know each other clinging to the edge of the TARDIS.

A trust fund is a legal entity, a hedge fund is an investment device. In execution both can do the same thing, but the beneficiaries and freedom of execution can be different. The layman's definition is that one party takes their assets and hands it over to the management part to invest and manage the money. But a hedge fund tends to involve multiple people pooling assets while a trust fund is typically an estate (which can be comprised of multiple people). The details of what constitutes management are tied to the executor, so it could be stocks, forex, resource speculation, property, etc.

Hey Psycho, got two questions about Phantom Blood:
The drawback about having to hunt down a mystic item leaves what the item in question is ambiguous, so can we just say it's one of the Stand arrows in Greenland?
Second, and this is more of a personal opinion thing, would being a Hamon-using Brando (with the capstone) and getting a plant/vine-flavored version of Scary Monsters from the Stand virus be kosher?
>>
>>93460420
So the difference is that a hedge fund is explicitly a middleman?
>>

Not unless LN Louise is way more sympathetic and nuanced than anime Louise. I haven't read the novels, but it's going to go either
Fanfic > Novels = Anime
or
Fanfic = Novels > Anime

Either way, anime Louise is worst girl.

A trust fund makes a legal entity called the trustee (bank, person, etc.) hold the assets of the grantor (the person who's assets are in the trust) for the beneficiary or beneficiaries (the trust fund babies).
A hedge fund is a bunch of private investors pooling money to do better than the average market return. This usually involves risky strategies, though what exactly they do depends on the manager.

>>93460415

A trust fund is a fund that is held in trust for someone else. For instance if the kid of rich parents gets a bunch of money from his parents who think he's an idiot likely to piss it away they might give it in the form of a Trust fund under the control of a figure who dispenses the money to them in chunks according to the rules set out in the trust fund.

A hedge fund is very different, being a pooled investment where the managers of the fund invest it in various ways more complex than the typical investment funds that a normal person might typically put their money in.

For instance you or I might park money into an ETF that just parks the money invested into a certain range of stocks and only moves it if the stocks that fit the goal of the fund change but a hedge fund would engage in large scale short selling with the large wealth of their investors and other such strategies.

>Aah, what the hell knowing Riser, he'd prolly bet his fiance on a challange fight against a strong enough humie.
Not really, Riser isn't an idiot, he was stronger than everyone in Rias peerage and Issei couldn't defeat him directly, which is why he went Balance Breaker and send all his energy to boost some holy water.

speaking of DxD, could you tell elaborate a bit what is meant with "traits you normally cant get" in the balance breaker for this OC Sacred Gear you made?
>Re-Spec (200cp)
>A type of Sacred Gear that naturally manipulates energy in a very limited way. Letting you categorize and allocate your reservoirs to different 'stats' to enhance them; the more you devote to one category, the more bang you get for your buck.
>You can shift your stats around at will to be exceptionally fast or strong at any given time for example, but it would be a trade-off when it comes down to it. The regular Balance Breaker is an armband that allows the user to ‘steal’ energy and magic from the ambient and enemies, while permanently increasing its own.
>It’s also known to have a sub-species that allows the users to spend energy into brute forcing learning skills or obtaining traits they normally wouldn’t be able to. It has a very high potential, but the gains are relatively slow to get.

That is what I had in mind. Join Rias as a sort of Mercenary Unit, is that possible? I mean I could really join her, but I doubt that any jumper worth their salt wouldn't be so much stronger than her that it would take a mutation piece and a miracle to work.

Even so, can't you theoretically have your piece removed later down the line?

Anyway, even if that doesn't work, there are plenty of ways to nab Riser's shit even without beating his ass, if not as fun.

The funniest part is that Irina is not even a powerful girl.

If Jumper who presumably has some of those things, began throwing himself at her, she would probably feel pretty flattered if nothing else.

So you guys did it and made me go read World Seed. After wasting a week or so of my life to go through it, I'd like to point out that Gold Market is over wanked. Everything may be found on it, but not everything can be simply bought with money. When the MC first accesses it there's a disclaimer that prices may include additional costs such as sacrifices or quests, and when he looks up information the gods aren't allowed to tell mortals the listed price is "become a god". The item in the jump also refers to these additional costs when it says you might be able to purchase godhood if you pay a decillion gold AND sacrifice the population of a planet.

It's also logically limited to what's in the power of the gods of the setting to offer, and they're not omnipotent, even collectively, as they have their own problems they're trying to solve. While you could argue that such limitations shouldn't apply by the virtue of it being a jumpchain item, someone actually making that argument definitely has no right to judge other communities for being powerwankers.

he can still boost you if he's just an ally, its just that the doubled power that he'd be enhancing you with, is his own, rather than yours.
>>
>>93461182
I don't think it is, the stones are still alive, in a way, and it's clearly stated that they are giving you power willingly.
>>
A reminder that Vali and Issei's mothers are both alive. Do what you want with this information.
>>
>>93461201
>Vali's mom
Then why is he hanging with Azazel? I cannot think of a shittier parental figure.
>>
>>93461112
No, he's right.
>>
>>93461000
Would the 'weak' time powers of the Golden Gauntlet be enough to pull a stop time or rewind damage to a target?
>>
>>93461189
Yeah, but it's pretty inconvenient, you're not always gonna have a big red dragon with you. Meanwhile you are always carrying the BG, which again, can summon him anyway.

>>93461209
She lost her memories of any devil shit and started a new family. Since Vali doesn't wanna drag her back into the supernatural, he pulled a spider-man and didn't contact her for her own good.
>>
>>93461194
The Magicite is explicitly their corpses
>>
>>93461209
nta, but according to the wiki she had her memories about the supernatural world and being married to an abusive devil wiped, and is happily married with children to a human, not knowing she got a half-devil son out there.
>>
>>93461089
Well yeah. Some anons talk about just showing up with infinite money, but in my mind the real value of the Gold Market is the variety of what it has. If you want a good training program for some skill, a power of some kind, or a game or TV show that was never released, it’s got you covered.
>>
>>93459828
That viva pinata was an amazing game?
>>
>>93461201
Issei's mom is happily married and I would never NTR Issei's dad. Especially with how every single fanfic that has him in it has him be a real bro
>>
>>93461179
I mean, his Dragon Mail is more or less Mecha.
>>
>>93461226
not him, but you probably aren't gonna start out with the abilities to replicate other powerful sacred gears like Forbidden Balor, but yeah obviously its the kind of thing you would be able to unlock eventually.
>>
>>93461230
And they are still alive. In a way.
>>
>>93461268
People lingering after death has been a thing since... literally always. It doesn't change the fact that using someone's corpse as a medium to evoke some of the power they had when alive is very definitely necromancy
>>
The Golden Gauntlet should be combined with the Infinity Ingredients to obtain maximum Infinity Gauntlet knockoff potential.
>>
>>93461251
>real bro
Dude walked barefoot through the snow to pray that Issei would live through birth. Hell yeah he was.
>>
>>93461282
It could be argued that it's Shamanism instead of Necromancy.
>>
>>93461257
He’s still obsessed with boobs, the Dragon’s Mail is just a means to an end to get boobs
>>
I am going to wake up Rias ancient granny and seduce her.
>>
>>93461282
That's debatable, since if they were really dead, they would be gone instead of becoming magicite.
>>
>>93461289
Oh right, I forgot about that. There was a fanfic where Issei got harem protagonist powers because of that

I don't think either of them have an option to combine them with another jump.

Yeah but you know, japanese autism that make something called Dragon Mail into something that doesn't look like a dragon or a mail, and more like a mecha.

The what.
>>
>>93461307
Issei's dad is actually very proud of him, since his dream also was having a harem and he failed.
>>
>>93461318
Anon, you're trying to argue that their corpses aren't their corpses because they talked. Despite it being literally outright stated that magicite is their corpses and that they're dead.
>>
>>93461307
Issei eventually is one of the most powerful and successful men in DxD.
>>
>>93461321
So whip out your houserules and fanwank.
The two settings are incredibly compatible, to my limited knowledge, so they're an easy combo for me when I'm doing that kind of thing.
>>
>>93461336
Dead imply a lack a life. It also imply a lack of will.
They have a life and a will. "corpse" as they might be, because when you get a Magicite, it's because the Esper want you to have their powers.
There's also nothing saying that Magicite are their corpses. Odin remember?
>>
Does anyone else come up with their own generic systems for playing their Jumpchain as a solo RPG?

I'm currently playing mine as a really simple d6 based game.

How would Aleister in Index respond to another city state appearing that also produces Espers and preaches its own future science religion and also has its own proprietary form of magical backing?

Issei should make sure to thank god every day for blessing him with the BG or he would have ended up like his two friend.

One of the Fate Legends jumps is for the Servantverse, a side setting that occasionally pops up where the entire universe is populated by Servants and full of various movie references.

As in the Fate version of star wars, Marvel, and insert IP here are all going on just with Servants in place of the original protagonists/antagonists.

One of the Servants that originates from this nonsense has the ∞ Black Bean Paste skill which is the result of mashing together the Infinity ingredients (the infinity gems but candy and you gain their powers by eating them). This is literally the local version of the Infinity Gauntlet but she has no fucking clue about it.

Anyway in that Legends jump there is a series of scenarios that each rewards you with one of the Infinity Ingredients, though I suppose technically you can also just grab it with a purchase of an EX rank skill in the highest level of the Servant supplement but that's not as fun.
>>
>>93461369
Yeah, I'd put up with any boob talk if my kid had enough money to ensure absolutely nobody in my family would ever need to work again, and that's just the start of the benefits.

>Dead imply a lack a life. It also imply a lack of will.
Dead implies not being living, yes. But ghosts and undead are very much a thing and very much still dead

>They have a life and a will. "corpse" as they might be, because when you get a Magicite, it's because the Esper want you to have their powers.
While the Magicite the players got were because the Espers wanted them to have their powers, you don't need the Esper to be willing. There's a whole scene were Kefka genocides the espers for their magicite to boost his power, remember?

>There's also nothing saying that Magicite are their corpses. Odin remember?
Ramuh literally says Magicite is what's left after they die.
>>
>>93461400
No actually. One of them marries Serafall, and the other one marries Seekvaira.
>>
>>93461410
>Dead implies not being living, yes. But ghosts and undead are very much a thing and very much still dead
True true.

>There's a whole scene were Kefka genocides the espers for their magicite to boost his power, remember?
That's "just" Kefka gaining a new power. A bullshit power at that.

>Ramuh literally says Magicite is what's left after they die.
Which is weird because we are shown it's not really the case.
>>
>>93461433
>That's "just" Kefka gaining a new power. A bullshit power at that.
It's Kefka murdering a bunch of people and stealing their corpses

>Which is weird because we are shown it's not really the case.
Ah yes, all the people dying and entrusting their remains to us definitely shows that they are in fact not dead
>>
>>93461417
Why are there so many monsters and why does he personally have to fight them all? Azazel never had this problem, Sirzechs never had this problem, Angels don't even have this problem and it's basically their actual fucking day job
>>
>>93461445
>stealing
Devouring actually.

>Ah yes, all the people dying and entrusting their remains to us definitely shows that they are in fact not dead
I mean, how do you explain Odin, Phoenix, and certain ones?

>>93461307
>Your son marries a rich foreigner
>Suddenly you get a mansion
>Creates his own company and becomes a political leader at 18

Seems like a good deal.
Now just imagine if after turning into devils you can also convince your wife to let you have a harem as well.
>>
>>93461447
Alien invasion. Unironically. He's one of the few strong enough to fight them.

>>
>>93461454
Odin wasn't actually dead until you broke his petrified remains, and it was the tear that came from his petrified love interest that turned his Magicite into Raiden.

The Phoenix Magicite doesn't actually act on it's own. Locke uses it on Rachel and then she merges herself with it to fix it

Ramuh in FF6 is just weird. Fucker literally has dream powers that he only uses to convince a moogle to join your party. Also he literally killed himself a few seconds beforehand, so him hanging on long enough to say his last sentence isn't unrealistic

Madiun's thing is just one of those "dead loved ones encouraging you to find something to live for" near death experiences

>>93461559
It's bizarre how quick some of the espers are to off themselves in order to give you their magicite. Ramuh is a good example. Dude, I'm happy you're eager to help but maybe you'd be more useful alive?
>>
>>93461421
>One of them marries Serafall,
How? Isn't she stuck for a century or so in that barrier with 666?
>>
>>93461639
NTA but I think they end up getting out, just severely weakened.
>>
>>93461639
Reminder that Sirzechs' whore of a wife tries getting with Issei like a day after that barrier. And Issei, not being a scummy faggot, tells her to fuck off and be a good mother to her son.
>>
>>93461631
Ramuh killed himself to give you his powers to help you rescue his friends. Literally sacrificing himself to save others

You stumble across Ifrit and Shiva as they're literally dying and they decide to entrust you with their magicite because Ramuh had, and they didn't really have a choice

The Espers in the Magicite Research Lab were all almost dead due to the eighteen years of constant torture, and decided to follow Ifrit and Shiva's lead

I'm pretty sure Tritoch thought the War of the Magi was still happening and decided he just didn't want to get involved with it.

nta, and I know they try to play it as a love story. But Sirzechs didn't exactly wine and dine Grafiya. He rebelled against the Governent she was fighting for, ursurped their rulership and made her his bride to solidify his claim as Lucifer.

It would make sense for her to ditch the marriage at first opportunity.
>>
>>93461739
You make it sound a lot worse than it actually was.

Grayfia didn't get picked as a trophy wife post-war, she betrayed her government in the middle the war for that Gremory dick.
>>
How difficult would it be for someone with Eclipse Phase's tech to make a lolification disease?

It doesn't have to be something that spreads on it's own, I know a perk that lets you spread non-contagious diseases
>>
Is there a significant difference between arbitrarily great magical power and arbitrarily great magical skill?
>>
>>93461801
>she betrayed her government in the middle the war for that Gremory dick.
No she didn't? She was fighting evenly against Serafall during the final Battle, and only surrendered after Sirzechs used his destruction form to kill the Beezlebub heri(who used the Malebranche to transform into a fly monster), ending the Civil War
>>
>>93461897
It depends on the setting and the magic, beside your definition of power.

>>93461897
Yes, one lets you do things more and one lets you do more things.

>>93461897
Like the other guy said, depends on the setting. I think of it as Strength vs Dex
