Do you do anything unique with your warband/gang/army's paint scheme to make them stand out from the rest?
>>
>>93862948
Escher models should look like this
>>
I've only played necromunda a couple times with more involved friends, how's the malastrain gangs compared to the old gsc gang rules? are the gsc gang rules still valid? if I've got two spare escher bodies and a full 40k gsc army is that enough to play a decent malastrain gang?
>>
>>93862948
>TQ
Yes. By forever coming up with a color scheme that I will be satisfied with and never actually painting them.
>>
>>93863182
depending on what "full army" means it is more than enough. (you could have 3k points but still no purestrain genestealer or neophyts or whatever) problem are just the mites.
>>
>>93863182
Malstrain corrupted gangs are based around you having access to the new models, like the floating ticks and genestealers. Obviously, you could proxy these. Otherwise you only get to give your leader some psychic powers and that's it. I thinking you're better of going genestealer corrupted Escher instead.
>>
>>93863182
If you want to play them go ahead, but Malstrain gangs and Malstrain corrupted gangs are a mess mechanic wise.
RAW wise you could corrupt a Malstrain Corrupted Gang with a Genestealer Cult corruption.
Outside of trying to cheese familiar or really wanting to run Aberrants along of genestealer I hardly see a use for them.
Malstrain corrupted gangs gimps your regular gang if you start as one. It seems that only Van Saar do not get dick over by it and actually could benefit from them.
Otherwise just corrupt them with regular genestealer cult.
Honestly just use Malstrain as random enemies for the other gangs to fight. On their own they are just meh mechanic wise.

>RAW wise you could corrupt a Malstrain Corrupted Gang with a Genestealer Cult corruption.
Wait so there's "generic" genestealer corruption of other gangs on top of malastrain corruption?
>>
>>93863664
Malstrain genestealer are genestealer with space AIDS. Regular Genestealer try to kill them and other tyranids avoid them.
Genestealer Cults vs Malstrain Genestealer is lore friendly.
In fact everything in 40k is just proxy wars between genestealers, it is known.

>>
>>93871540
Anon I don't know how to break this to you but being able to select different units to tailor your warband to your preferences is indeed having options. Wargear selection isn't the only kind of customization in a miniature game. The bulk of customization in Warcry is simply done at the level of unit selection rather than at the individual model level - though I will point out that with divine blessings there is indeed a small amount of optional customization for individual models as well.

if you've got a strong caster just bring them, dain is fairly helpess against magic and once he's not cracking skulls the army falls apart. the troops are still strong and sturdy, but unless you're also elite you should be outnumbering them 2:1
plus they're slow and should at most have maybe 4 cavalry models, it's not too difficult to beat them on objectives

Anyone have the Battle of Osgiliath scenarios in pics or pdf? From the big box
>>

Yeah but they are just basic rules with no updates I assume. Wahapedia does it right for big Warhammer and Kill Team tho. Whatever updates and dlcs are introduced, the guy incorporates the bits to the rules and you can always print the web to pdf.

Anyone know where I can get more decent character art?

Can image be pulled from the Necromunda/Killteam pdf's?
>>
>>93879810
The Kill Team books are manually scanned, so the best you can do is crop the illustrations as they are on the page. Necromunda's books tend to be published digitally in the first place, and then it should be doable to extract the illustrations as image files. There are apps for that if you don't already have one. Warhammer Community and individual GW events also tend to have free downloads available for their respective games, meaning you can do the same with them as you can with the digital Necromunda books.

Still, I'd advise you to start by looking for places that already have the art you want, to save yourself some trouble. That'd be places like wh.reactor or 40k.gallery, or if you know the individual artists you can go straight to look for them on artstation, deviantart, instagram, or twitter.
>>
>>93879810
>>93879897
If all you're after is illustrations, the old KT 2018 books are all proper PDF's that you should be able to rip the images from.

Lake-town or lothlorien?
Lake town is just a tough matchup, it’s a fantastic army in general but they eat through the troops and have no way to really counter them, aside from the great ally options
Lothlorien however is a pretty great matchup, F5 and decently high numbers can grind the troops while Galadriel totally stops dain
And the F6 guard

Never played Mordheim sadly so don't know heaps about it. But, what I would suggest is
1. Look up some 2 player campaign ideas if they exist.
2. If there aren't any, buy 2 gangs each and that way you probably could run a campaign
3. Be charming and have others join you

Somewhere near the edges of the Pariah system, a rogue chaos fleet led by fleetmaster Karenius is picked up by necron long range scanners due to vox chatter demanding to speak to the systems manager being unencoded and promptly triangulated. Will the necrons pre-emptive strike drive off the additional chaos fleets in the pariah system? or will the fleetmaster lay waste to an entire chain of planets managerial systems.

1000 points bfg fleet engagement.
Necrons took: the big battleship
Cruiser
3x jackals
Fleet master karinius took: extra shield and mark of nurgle on her repulsive class grand cruiser
2x murders.
2x slaughter.

The first 2 rounds aw the Necrons directly attempt to halt Karinius war fleet with this cruiser opening up on the fleet after zooming right on top of them. However the necron battleship was unable to get in the fight at this time thanks to a sad inertialess drove roll so I was able to pull almost every vessel into firing angles.necron ship became crippled and phased out the following turn. The jackals fell afterwards as I was able to boost a murder into exceptionally close range and get blasting.

What followed was the cairn class battleship fighting the entire chaos fleet.
The necron player was able to get their head in the game and played masterfully at this point, hitting the weakest points of my line. However on 2 wounds it too phased out after many rounds of intense fleet engagements.

What's the preferable way of playing Mordheim? Do people lean towards Broheim rules and official Warbands?
>>
>>93892958

Broheim is just a repository of Mordheim content, they don't have their own custom iteration of the game. If you/your group is new I'd probably stick to the core book warbands for your first campaign but if someone is really in love with one of the other official ones, go for it.

If you are not limited to GW models then check out the Frostgrave Cultists. Even have a range of fitting metal character models to go along with that.

Failing that the cawdor are good, but since the bretonnian men at arms are available again those are worth a look as well I think, especially if you want something that works with the original Mordheim models.

I'm sure some American will list it eventually, especially the older editors, since they go for like $10 if you find them on clearance and scalpers jump at the chance of making a buck of Barnes and Noble games. Meanwhile while you wait for that:

Frostgrave sprues in general are pretty indispensable for mordheim. GW used to have a lot of that kind of stuff in their catalog but now other makers have to fill the gap.

Unless you are playing War of the Rings and need the command unit for regiments is there any reason you would ever take a basic bitch captain like this in a regular game of mesbg? Seems to me all of the minor minas tirith heroes are just flat out better in every situation.
>>

There are factions where the basic captain is the only hero with access to Heroic march, which makes them almost a necessity. Factions like Moria, Angmar, Numenor, and Army of Thror have a basic captain as an auto-include.
>>
>>93904351
That is a good point. Madril and Irolas are the only other guys in the Gondor list with heroic march as well.

>>93901938
Depends on his profile and which other heroes you got available. Captains are useful because of heroic march and being cheap warband leaders.

Minas tirith got better options than captains. Final nail in the coffin are Madril having march and Denethor leading 15 men for 35 points. Even if you value shieldwall which captain got, there is a named character with better synergy for that.

>>93904351
Some of the captains are also decent profiles. Captain of Arnor 5/4/7 for 55, Uruk-Hai captain 5/5/7 for 60, Moria goblins spending 35 points for 4 strength 2 attacks 2 might character. And no matter how much you want that heroic march you are not getting high elf captain for 80.

>>

Yes. Generally, if you give everyone the same thing because it's the best option you're probably in WAAC territory. Don't feel the need to take really bad options (e.g., heavy flamer).

Get the Sorcerer, take the light armor off the assassin, it's worthless (anything with armor pen or S4+ will remove it outright) and expensive. Not sure the blowpipe is worth it. Get two weapons for every henchman and every hero, even if it's just an additional dagger.
Love the fighting claws and the weeping blades, very thematic. I used to play an assassin with pistols as well, it was fun.
>>
>>93910965
ok, thanks for the input

what model could I possibly use as an eshin sorceror? i've seen some basic stuff like a clanrat with a bell, but that just seems a bit too generic
kinda want one of those models that are fancy (as he's a hero) but not too fancy

and models from the eshin underworlds warband is out of the equation as i'm already gonna be using them for the other heroes

Christ, this looks great. Why do fantasy universes by gw get so much love and awesome models while 40k sucks ass for the most part.
>>
>>93917576
The designers are given a longer leash in all of GW's fantasy properties in an attempt to find the fantasy-equivalent of marines - that is, a single faction with overwhelming sales that they can just rehash forever and ever and it will still sell like crazy. They don't need to bother doing anything interesting with 40k because marines already exist.
>>
>>93917576
>>93917614

Partly. Also the Specialist Games team have less punishing release schedules with less stuff on it, so they can take their time on some stuff, instead of having to just crank out slop to meet schedules like 40k and AoS have to.

Jewunderworlds?
>>
>>93920386
As someone who started with Enforcers: don't. They're frustratingly underpowered, with terrible Cawdor-tier stats but are extremely expensive because they come bundled with a bunch of meh gear. They're also just completely fucked in the default dominion campaign type. After that experience I would pretty much only consider running them in tutorial games against new players or as arbitrator-controlled NPC's.
You will get a much better first experience with the game using a house gang, so I'd highly recommend going with Orlock.
>>
>>93920386
>>93921013
Although it breaks my heart because I really love their design, I second that anon. Don't start with Enforcers. They are weak as shit and if your Arbitrator is unwilling to compromise, a Dominion campaign will be miserable for you. All it takes is a few unlucky rolls and your gang can be fucked really fast. Go for a house gang first and once your group has a grip of things, maybe consider Enforcers but not for a standard vanilla Dominion campaign.

Congratulations. You now belong to 90% demograph of miniature customers.

>>
>>93920386
Play Orlock but get a box of Reptillian Overlords SpaceNam so they look like 1st edition Orlock.
>>
>>93920386
Orlocks are a pretty generalist faction with a 3 wound leader and a pretty easy to learn unique faction trait with the legendary names.
There’s almost no wrong choices starting out for them, just try to fit in 7+ guys in your gang.
>>
>>93923073
4 bolt gun, 5 autogun, 2 dual stub gun juves (need to cut the bolt pistol arm because no right arm stubber), 1 dual bolt pistol (for meme and also because it require no cutting), 1 power pack melee squat with pistol because 5 attacks meme, 1 heavy stubber squad, 1 squat with plasma/hrud fusil weapon (find plasma gun somewhere else). 1 Squat with the melta (go find meltagun bits). The rest is whatever, more memes, more autoguns, squat with 2 hammer, another heavy ... find some shit from the trading post like grenade launcher or shield, or just make more boltguns.....
