Honestly, I just wanted a fun side project and maybe something my dad would be interested in.
>>94590220And the 2nd half of the gift. After almost 2 weeks of being lost in the grip of DHL, it eventually was delivered.Almost 100 firstborn marines for me to start my chapter. Thanks again UK-Anon. (also the chocolate is indeed very good)
>>94589977Santa arrived yesterday, I’m way too impatient to wait for Christmas so I opened it already. France Anon, this is such a nice gift, I'm very grateful! You might've gotten the holidays mixed up a bit though :^) I like KDM minis a lot so getting one in bigger scale is an absolute treat. I'm probably going to paint her up soon since I want a palate cleanser from all the gw stuff I've been doing lately. I don't know if you're psychic or something but Sicarians are one of the few Admech kits that I actually don't have yet so it works perfectly! The objective markers are incredibly cute too, the /wip/ pumpkin must be my favorite. I've never had a chance to try colorshift paints so I'm excited for those as well, the results I’ve seen online are very cool. Definetely going to use the frogs for some jungle and forest bases. I've already tried the sweets, both the cookies and the jelly bars are really good. I actually ate most of the cookies in one sitting lol. Thank you very much! Merry Christmas and I hope your SS gift will be as on point as this one was.

Gift wrapped and everything!

2/2Outrageously generous gift Anon. Wife is super pumped about the influx chocolates. Blood bowl team has been on my list for awhile and both the other kits were slam dunks too. Thank you so much man- Happy Festivus!

Cookies were frosted (pva glue) and dipped in chocolate (primed). Thicker final layer of pva on the tops helped fill in some of the cork texture without making it a completely flat surface, turned out better than I thought it would. Texture paste and sand in spots for sand and gravel, I'll paint some oil stains and road striping on as well as some small tufts in the cracks on a couple of the bases.

I primed with white and then zenithal'd with grey. No black. Is that a mistake? Does it become too light? I just heard some advice when you use speed paints that if there's too much black the colors become too glossy. I think the green skin so far is pretty good and I'm not done with shading.

Assembled, primed and ready for painting
>>94592207My tau would never give a pulse rifle to a filthy auxiliary
>>94590045Drilled a barrel on a tiny 28mm resin plasma gun. I used cheap amazon drill bits so maybe that's why it looks a little crusty. Is there anything that can be done about this to make it look cleaner or will it disappear after black priming?
>>94592266Take a little of a plastic cement and just rub it around. Plastic cement will smooth it out. Tamiya Extra Thin is a golden standard, but I have found out that Mr. Cement S is a bit gentler, if you need it to use for those REALLY delicate things.
>>94592266Resin? Little bit of fine grit sand paper rolled into a cone, press it into the hole and gently spin to sand the edges.
>>94591989Yes. And a decidedly shite one at that if it's still anything like the bottle I got a number of years back. Get Ultimate Primer (aka Sty-nul-rez) instead if you want to prime with acrylics.
>>94592270>resinOh, nevermind me, I'm retarded.
>>94592291Then what primer do I get if I want to use a brush or air brush? Are only spray cans real primer?
>>94591989No. It's vallejo's attempt at making something that would be able to serve as a primer in theory, but a failed experiment. It's not acrylic paint though.
>>94592270>>94592301>I'm retardedSo am I. I used too much super glue on the resin models in a few instances and have to chip away at the white residue they leave. >>94592276Thanks I'll try that at a later time.
>>94590937Also finished highlighting my DW today.
>>94592313Can I get a rec on primers? Apparently this is yet another pitfall
>schizo is back
>>94592365airbrushed lacquers > rattle can (hobby/automotive) > rattle can hardware storeOn acrylics, vallejo mecha primer is my recommendation, just give it a full 24 or 48 hours to cure. People like stynylrez, and proacryl's is probably also okay. They're just not as good as the above ones with actual adhesion properties, other than hardware store rattle cans which I don't recommend at all.
>>94592394I never left
>>94592302Sty-nyl-rez/Ultimate Primer if you want something that doesn't demand a gas mask and which you can clean out of (air)brush with water. Or if you want something even better to airbrush on and don't mind the gas mask then Mr Surfacer diluted with Mr Levelling Thinner. Or some rattlecan primer, I find that Tamiya, GW, and Mr Surfacer all work well here (which are all I've tried, so likely not at all an exhaustive list).>Are only spray cans real primer? As the name I've slapped on hopefully suggests I'm not the guy rambling about "real primer". Ignore those who do, or take a solidly nurgly shite right in their mouth, it's all their nonsense deserves. Worry about whether it works (does it adhere well to the mini, does it go on smooth and flat, can you sand it, and will your main paints work well on top of it), not if it satisfies some random grabass-needy kid's definition of primer.
>>94592365That will work as primer, vallejo primer is a combo acrylic polyurethane primer that can be a little gummy and clog airbrushes. The old formula was fucking shit out of an ass and probably what other anon had experience with, the newer stuff is better. If you're brushing it on thin it with a little water and make sure you do multiple thin coats giving it time to dry between them. This will help you get smooth results without filling in details. The primer may be a little splotchy after the second coat but it will work fine as a primer layer. Other good primers are stynelrez, vallejo mecha primer, and proacryl (my current go to) are all fine. Rattlecan tamiya light grey is probably the nicest spraying light rattlecan primer on the market, but it costs as much as citadel for a smaller can.
>>94592427>The old formula was fucking shit out of an ass and probably what other anon had experience withI bought the bottle back in 2016, so if they've changed after that then it was indeed the old stuff. Rubbery, unsandable, poorly adhering...
>>94592425>does it adhere well to the mini, does it go on smooth and flat, can you sand itBut this is the problem. You're settling on only lacquer and rattlecan primers working.acrylics:>don't adhere well, but do go on smooth, can sort of sandwhatever the fucking disgusting vallejo surface goop is:>can't sand, doesn't adhere unless you count becoming a layer of plastic wrapas 'adhering' , does go on smooth thoughrattlecans and lacquers:>can sand, adheres very well to plastic/resin, great for sanding. Also cures to full hardness almost immediately, and thinner coats with better coverage.I'm JUST SAYING, there's no contest IF you can use the better alternatives.
Afternoon, WIP.The LGS is recently stocking this particular kind of super glue and I want to support the LGS.Does the super glue work like a gel like gel advertised super glues? I work with a lot of resin miniatures and a good number of metal minis and I don't want super glue running everywhere if it is too thin so I assume the "extra thick" marking means it is gel based. Is this correct?
>>94592504I would think that 'extra thick' would mean something like that. You'll have to try it though. But for metal models, or resin where gaps can be a concern, have you considered using 2 part epoxy adhesives? They're going to be better than super glue, even gel when it comes to gluing imperfect joints especially on metal.
>>94592522>I would think that 'extra thick' would mean something like that. That's what I'm assuming too.>You'll have to try it thoughI guess I will. I'll report back if it hasn't sold out and the LGS can't restock due to Canadapost strike.>But for metal models, or resin where gaps can be a concern, have you considered using 2 part epoxy adhesives? I have considered 2 part epoxy adhesive, but stayed away due to the convenience of super glue. Though I am unsure if 2 part epoxy adhesive is stronger than CA glue. Some sources I've read say yes and others no and others say they're relatively the same. I'll be honest if the adhesive strength of two-part epoxy then I'll stick with CA glue and fill in gaps with greenstuff. I need to practice with greenstuff anyways because I want to sculpt a mushroom with a face miniature. What about BSI's "gap filling" CA glue. Anybody use that able to speak on its quality and behaviors compared to other CA glues?
>>94592557>I'll be honest if the adhesive strength of two-part epoxy then I'll stick with CA glue and fill in gaps with greenstuff.Had a stroke I think.I meant to say "I'll be honest if the adhesive strength of two-part epoxy is the same as CA glue then I'll stick with CA glue and fill in gaps with greenstuff." My bad lads.
>>94592425>>94592427>>94592467Doing some research it seems that my only option is to use spray cans since lacquer is toxic and I'm not capable of doing that ventilation extraction thingy. Assuming I exclude vallejo surface primer or all the "air brush primer" brands that are acrylic and pretty shit. This is pretty confusing, I was planning to buy an air brush later on but I think I'll just pass
>>94592610>Doing some research it seems that my only option is to use spray cans since lacquer is toxicNo, primer schizo is schizoing. Primer doesn't need to be strong enough for you to be able to scratch it with a metal file or some shit, its just paint that dries with rougher texture to give the following layers something easier to grip to. There is some discussion about rattlecan primers "etching" the paint onto the plastic but its not truly necessary.
>>94592467Fuck off. As per above I've used a bunch of different primers. Good acrylic does lag behind the really good stuff, but not by a massive degree. So claiming it isn't real primer? You're a sad sack of shit, go flush yourself.>>94592504Squeezing a gel-style superglue out of that bottle seems like an arse and a half towards the end, so probably not quite that thick. Though it should of course be more viscous than standard superglue. By how much? However much the manufacturer thought it should be to deserve the "super thick" label. Try and find out, basically.> I don't want super glue running everywherePut a drop of superglue down on some sacrificial surface (I put a bit of take on a bottle of solvent I keep around and use that), then use a toothpick or some such to take some superglue form that drop and onto the model.>>94592563Filling with green stuff seems like a good enough idea. CA supposedly really shines when the surfaces to be joined match up very well. That might also be why you get different claims for CA-vs-epoxy, as epoxy is supposedly better when you need to fill a bit of a gap, so which wins could vary from case to case. But filling with epoxy putty (such as green stuff) and then gluing with CA should work as well.
>>94592658Aight lets be real tho... if it's not giving you brain damage, cancer, or a mixture of both, is it really that likely to be an effective medium?
>>94592610>since lacquer is toxicRattlecans aren't any better, so I hope the plan there is to use them outside. But that said, Ultimate Primer/Sty-nyl-rez isn't bad, it's entirely worthwhile to use if that's what's most convenient for you. Just ignore the schizo guy, he's not exactly being called that as a sign of endearment.
>>94592658So as long as I clean my airbrush well I can use whatever I want. Got it. Lacquer seems nice and all but is not an option if I have take precautions
>>94592723Rattlecans aren't a problem because I can spray outside easily. I can't airbrush outside, that's the issue. Just a shame ultimate primer and stnylrez isn't sold here
>>94592732Also cure my minis in the shower with the ventilation on

>>94593015If you keep the can inside, there is no reason not to. Just test it out first on something else than your minis.

>>94593031>>94593015I just checked and monday is going to be like +8 so I'm just going to wait, it's not like I don't have other things to paint in the meantime.

>>94593659>>94595101to add onto this, this kind of large seamline is more common in gunpla, you should try to follow a gunpla seamline guide for advice.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AglSy9nMvl8
>>94594978Gotta do something about those nails, brah. And your cracked lid is making me anxious. My biggest issue with it right now is the lack of contrast in the shading on the skin. Whatever wash you were doing there gave a decent starting place, but you should take that, and push it even further, and some volumetric shading on the downward facing areas would really make everything pop even more.
>>94595090Won't metal bbs rust and ruin the paint?
>>94595174It's supposed to be an oxide effect, so it'll just add to it.Jokes aside, no, get stainless steel ones. Or some people use pebbles I've heard.Imo just shake it, it's not that hard. And yes it's normal for that paint to separate like that, some paints do that more than others.

>>94595692I know this feel. Worst part is that it's the first thing people look for. I had minis that looked fine without eyes. I painted them in though. First thing people said was that the eyes look a little wonky.
>>94595692dont paint them, or use shade to fill in the little eye socket. you can also paint the eyes first then the face around it, or paint the edges of the eyes like the mini is looking to the side
>>94590226>>94590220fuck yeah anon, glad you liked it sorry DHL fucked it around ! Going to still get the complaint from royal mail through cos that was a fucking nightmare
>>94595692I think you might need to hold back on the washes. Don't put them over flat surfaces and let them pool like that. Everyone looks wet and mouldy. Just get it in the recesses.

>>94595711>you can also paint the eyes first then the face around itThat's sort of how I tried to do it: Started with three vertical lines of white/black/white going way over the eyes then painted back skintone around it to make it smaller>>94595719Yeah still have a long way to go, everytime I use wash I'm disappointed on the result, but whenever I don't use it it just feels too flat. I like how it worked out for the girl on the left, but I'll definitely paint-over the dude in pink because it looks really bad
>>94592406As someone who does gundam modeling as well as miniatures I had mr surfacer just laying around, and began using it on my plastic miniatures about a year ago. But I paint the majority of my models as metal and I found it to be even less adhereing than acrylic primers like stynelrez or vallejo. The best I found without explicitly being called a metal primer is tamiya spray cans but they're slightly hydrophobic. I hope to find a primer that is as tough and grippy as it one day that isn't hydrophobic.>>94593199based fellow retro painter, looks great!model I'm about to paint for sake of posting a pic
>>94590937What ifWhat if I repaint my Guard as traitors? Sounds like a fun project, right? Do you know any cool traitor style heads I could use?
>>94595830>Do you know any cool traitor style heads I could use?Madrobotminiatures, and AnvilIndustry have some good traitor heads often labeled as "renegade" heads. They're in resin though. Just a head's up.
>>94595779Yeah you can get the same effect as washes by either layering from dark to light or using glazes. Like you start with a mid tone, then mix in a darker colour and add that into the recesses and mix in a lighter colour and highlight the edges with that. You can even use some dark inks in the shadows to really get it darker. I used a dark purple ink in the deepest parts of this guy's recesses for the first time and I like how it turned out. Actually looking at this photo, there's a lot more shadows and highlights I need to do before I add the OSL.
>>94595759Well, I have polishing grid, some leftovers from making grass applicator (might be too big for 25mm scale) and paper pulp tray for plants with graded surface. Do you think one of them would work?
>>94593770>>94595789Thanks! The squad is slowly coming together.
>>94595131Well shit, now it look like i'm using too much wash, should i use more wash?
>>94596030>do some volumetric shading>drenches whole mini in thick washman you overdid it, you had a good base, you just needed a very thin wash on some parts to enrich the shadows, tinting everything uniformly again doesn't improve contrastrest in paints
>>94596030A skinless goat is fine too
>>94596158I-I don't have a wash so i just google wash recipe with craft paint, i didn't know it will be this thick
>>94596030Just drybrush/overbrush some skin color on top and it'll look good I think.
>>94596193What skin color though?
>>94596192thats why you always test paint consistency and coverage on you hand/nail/palette/whatever before you touch the model with it
>>94596204Any.
>>94593378Looks good, after the wash those metallics on the backpack look a lot more at home together.
>>94594293Stormshield or a tilting shield?
Hoping to finish this before I go on holiday on Wednesday.
>>94594944This stuff, it shrinks a little bit as it dries so it fills into small gaps nicely. The resin dries slightly soft with a little give so its easy to cut and trim once dry, and shouldn't shatter if dropped. Bought it years ago for somewhere around $10 - $15, I've used it on a ton of models and I still have half a tub left.
>>94595692Recommend grabbing a short liner/script brush, I have a couple in size 1 and 0. Long thin brush that ends in a nice sharp point, you get the sharp tip of a size 0 but a much larger belly so paint won't dry in between the palette and the mini. Also makes it a little easier to get into details like eyes since the longer bristles means the ferrule won't be right in the way of what you want to see. I use the size 1's for my general highlights since I can get into tight areas and edge highlight with the side real easy, especially for metallics that I want to be neat with and not have to touch up again. They're also fantastic for washes and glazes in small areas or for pinwashing, the synthetics for mixed media/water colors run a couple bucks each so they aren't too expensive to try out.
Fellas, trying to think of good basing ideas for my Custodes. I don't really want to do just regular dirt and grass but something a bit cooler that would elevate them visually. What would you guys recommend?I was thinking of a texture roller with Temple texture, but not sold on it yet.

>>94597776carmine red just refuses to go on with this method, a shame because I think I like it bettergonna mix the two and see what happens
>>94597894The orange and green blade clashes with the rest of the color scheme.
>>94597950Yeah, fair enough. I did try that fluo green on the blade as an experiment, but in the end it just looks out of place. Orange for the blade though is alright imo, because I like to color-code my infinity melees depending on their profile (basically how the box arts for different miniatures implied).
Has here ever mixed acrylic black ink to darken a metallic paint? I tried it for the first time with pic related and for some reason I think I added too much black ink and made the metallic paint too watery. It was pic related black ink and AK Interactive's gunmetal paint if I recall correctly. I just want to know what the good average ratio of black ink to silvery metallic paint is for darkening those kinds of metallic paints if such a ratio exists.
>>94597924Hmm yes, it doesn't look bad though
Does tamiya extra thin work on resin models?
>>94598022nope
>>94591171Now I only need to do the basing
Quick and dirty
>>94597924I gave up and just stuck to flat red. I'll make the wash a slightly colder color to make up for it.while I'm here I'm going to leave a review for any prospective recast buyers:I really wish I hadn't bought 20 space marines off SART. every single mini has at least one mold slip somewhere, and it's god awful on the chaos marines. these space marine heroes models aren't even expensive if you know where to look, I just got them like this because they offered a squad of 9 including the captain (which came out the worst, all the push fit holes were overflowed with resin). The legionaries all had at least one major slip, often on the legs, and had even more loose chunks of resin, some even uncured. It really would have been so much more worth it to just buy the ~60 dollar legionaries box from ebay or something. at least the Alpha Legion headhunter bits and kill team upgrade sprue came out pretty good, weirdly the kill team bits had a different finish which almost feels like plastic. would have been better if they stuck with whatever they did there for everything.I'm going back to WTG for character models because in hindsight lieutenant tolmeron didn't come out that bad and I'm not spending 40 bucks on a kelermorph. character/single/OOP models and bits are probably as far as I'd go with recasts in the future.
>>94598104forgot pic
Okay, I guess that's enough for today. Gluing plastic to paper pulp tray is somehow absurdly problematic.>>94597739Good to hear!
>>94598096What all did you use here for the grimy parts?
Anybody tried ArmyPainter's fanatic metallic paints? I've had my eyes on true brass. If it isn't a good metallic paint then what is a better and similar looking metallic paint?
>>94598104Interesting. Reddit has been speaking pretty highly of SART, too. I think I'll stick with humble Z.
>>94598271Vallejo Copper + Duraluminium or Silver (game color)?
>>94598276to be "fair", I asked for a status report and they told me they were understaffed and had a backlog. still doesn't excuse the terrible quality control, but I don't doubt people have had better results.
>>94597986I did this but the video used paint.https://youtu.be/fSQb3IhC7Qs
>>94598114I think this method of using a not-so-dry brush with a wet palette is working pretty well, it really helps with colors that don't cover well. since I have a lot of schemes involving white in mind I'll probably come back to it for those.
>>94597986not black but I mixed a bit of vallejo smoke with vmc steel for the base steel color in pic related
>>94598293Just request a refund or free replacement.
Think an airbrush spray cabinet with the ventilation system built into the window would be ok to prime.minis in? It does a great job of taking the paint and the smell out, but it's too cold to be priming outside right now.
>>94598267Dirty down rust
>>94598397Oh you mean rattlecan prime? I was gonna say, I airbrush prime my minis using a cardboard box so the spray bounces back into my face, so airbrush priming in a spray cabinet built for airbrushing would work.
>>94598393how do you go about that? just email or start a return and forego the return part?
>>94598344I'll watch it later. >>94598383Looks great! I guess I'll try mixing with dark grey first before going with black paint. Not sure what I'll use my black ink for if the black paint mixing with metallics works just fine. Thanks anons!

I just love these models by station forge. I'm trying out a few different things so these are just the first layers (didn't clean it up 100% as it's just a text model before I really get on the others). I just hate that the rust color is too close to the fur color I have and want to make them stand out from each other.
>>94598454its reflection of the metallic highlights, shinny metallics are shiny

>have plenty of primed things I can paint>have two kill teams in progress>has an AoS army in progress>have some one off models I can paint>instead want to build more models for an army I don't play because I like the color scheme and lore
>>94598550Yeah ok I thought so, but I've seen enough stuff here to make me question it.
>>94598646>I've seen enough stuff here to make me question itelaborate
>>94598661Just really good paint jobs. Someone could imitate light with NMM or a mix of NMM and TMM. I honestly prefer well done TMM like on that horse though for the reason that got me. Being reflective, it can reflect light from all angles. NMM can only show light being reflected from one angle, so it can look weird from different angles.
>>94598398What's the crab writing about?
Is there a good way to hide the slot in a base after the figure is glued in, that doesn't use sand/flock?I've got a bunch of star wars minis from a printer, and I've based about half of them on 'outdoor' bases, but wanted some 'indoor' ones as well. Was wondering if there were an easy way that won't add a bunch of time/effort (like laying down and sanding a layer of greenstuff/clay would). If not I'll just paint the base black and call it good.

>>94599781From WoW!?Fuck, i didn't even realize that I did that but I basically followed the color scheme to
>>94599753Is that FDM? I see a lot of grooves and lines. Impressive if it's FDM though. Concerning if it's not.
>>94599809>I still have to do the oil washWhy? What would that add to them? They already look great. I feel like griming them up would be a disservice. Although maybe they look a little different in person. The photo is so dark that it makes the shadows and recesses also look dark enough.
>>94599885There's just not a lot of depth to the paintjon right now, and there's some mistakes I'd like to hide by toning things down while also making it match the rest of my army. Here's a brighter picture of the maleceptor. I made some things brighter than I wanted them to be like the scything talons or the veins on the brains.
>>94599872Not him, but it's resin. It's just what most people mean when they say 'good enough' which is why you can't take most printers seriously (but especially fdm) when they say that it's comparable to casting.
>>94599942Ooft yeah, my experience with resin has been really good for the most part. I bought a lot of a small local printing company and they were all perfect. I bought one off Only Games to test them out and it has these weird lines that look like fingermarks on the tits. Other than this one though, haven't seen a single flaw like those lines on his.
>>94599872It's resin. I got it from etsy
>>94599938Yeah ok that makes more sense now. The wash I'm guessing will bring it down from this to more what it was like in your other picture.
>>94599972Who was the seller so I know to avoid them if I ever get one off Etsy? That's really not acceptable quality to charge money for.
>>94599980MinosMakers.I like the sculpt but I paint for use not display.
>>94599975Yeah, I just gotta have time to do it. I work in a restaurant, so usually when I get home, it's late, and I dont trust myself to remember to remove the wash unless it's my day off. I've posted it before, but here's my Deathleaper as a comparison.
Today I learned that it is possible for soil erosion sand to be "out of season" at multiple stores. But I still needed a rougher-grained sand than what I already had, so I went to the pet store to look at aquarium sand to see if there was something between small gravel chunks and fine powder, but nothing quite at the right level. Then I had a horrible idea. Now I own 30 lbs of unscented, unused, unfundable kitty litter (they did not sell any smaller amounts)I do not own a cat and am in fact allergic to them, so this had better work for basing.
>>94599990Oh brother, you're in Australia. Use ProxywargamingAus. If you want a custom print from them, you just buy the STL off MMF and send it to them. Although looks like minos is in WA, and Proxy is in NSW I think, so might take a bit longer to get there if you're also in WA. But yeah they are really quick for the quality they put out.
>>94600005I've seen people recommended cat litter for basing all the time I'm sure its fine.
>>94600014I will report back.
>>94600009I'm in the u.s. I just picked the the sclupt i liked that most closely represented the dnd character i had in my head that I just rolled. I'm not hyper critical of mold lines or scale. I just enjoy painting decent looking minies that I put on the table while making dick jokes with my friends once or twice a month.
>>94600036Oh right, wait what was the shipping like on that? You had something printed from Australia. There must be loads of better options in the US. But yeah, you do you. If the shipping was free or cheap, then yeah you probably aren't gonna get anything cheaper than Etsy 3D printed stuff, so that's something. I'd just wouldn't be able to bring myself to paint something with visible lines like that. No matter how much effort you put in, they'd ruin it for me.
>>94600005I don't see why it wouldn't work, just try not to stir up the cat litter and make dust, if you can avoid it, anon. The clay and silica in that stuff is not great for your lungs or guts.

Printed and painted this ghastly. Has a lot of drain holes visible on the bottom but I’m new to printing and it’s better safe than sorry. Got a little paranoid about my ghastly turning into a Koffing liquid resin-bomb
I'm getting kind of wild with this guy. I wanna make the rock look like blue ice. So far I'm just having fun with it and using all the weird paints I don't use much. So far it's: >A layer of royal blue with some black and blue ink>A layer of royal blue with some black and violet ink>A layer of blue ink>Blue and black ink mix in the deepest parts>Stippling of blue and green translucent paint on raised areas>Stippling of blue, blue and green translucent paint on raised areasI'm just gonna keep building up weird layers going up to white and then add some scratches and a bit of snowfall on the top.
>>94601902Frostgrave cultists if he likes 40kFrostgrave cultists if he likes fantasy skirmish
>>94600307Probably, and this is after selling off a number of projects this year, at present I've got to paint>Epic Punic Wars Hannibal starter set, cloth done>Epic Waterloo British cavalry and artillery>DKoK squad tester scheme>TOW beastmen, khemri and chaos dwarf armies>HH IH and TS>new LOTR box>Halo Flashpoint>Legions Imperialis WE 2kpts
>>94601924Now we're getting somewhere. I added some blue fluorescent paint into the mix to bring up the brightness. That shit has the viscosity of glue for some reason.
>>94601902>I have a friend who is really into the modeling/kitbashWrath of the Kings Nasier starter box. They are very expensive now though.
>>94601902Now I'm kind of curious if they ever make generic "naked" models for people to kitbash. As for your question, what does he like to sculpt?
>>94601902The militia kit when it releases after Christmas. One of the greatest kits GW ever made.
depends on what he likes to kitbash. maybe some nice tools or high quality modeling putty/clay>>94601914>>94601914I have some frostgrave wizards pack 2, the female ones. I can confirm that they have loads of flat-sectioned arms and trinkets.
thank you hungarian-anon for lovely packagefirstly im gonna eat all the negro's
>>94602276holy moly, no wonder they are called hungarians (hung aryans) kek
>>94602083Almost there. Weirdly for once this is turning out exactly how I imagined it would look in my head. Just a few more layers going up into white and then some snowfall and that'll be done. But I can finish it another day.
>>94601916Hmm, all large flat surfaces. Hell to paint without an airbrush.
>>94602111Barely. Some sites offer parts, but they're often not generic enough.
>>94602304>tfw I used to paint gunpla with a paint brush
>>94602337that sounds painful
>>94602350It was. I had to go so goddamn thick to get coverage.
Has anyone got any examples of painting grass on to textured bases instead of using Static grass? I'm unsure of how it might look but I've tried Static and just don't like using it.
>>94602276glad to see it got there safe and relatively fast, I had to go to the nearby big town because our local post couldn't send international so I was worried about their competency with transporting toohave fun painting and Takking
>>94593464thanks. these look great. found the Punga miners on telegram. Someday when I paint dwarf with the pick and hood maybe you'll see it on here.
>haven't posted a wip in 2 threadsI'm sorry bros I was building and priming different stuff
>>94602337Dude, I paint all my Gunplas and similar models with brush without issues. At some point considered getting airbrush but decided it's too much problem and my current setup with wet palette and trusty brushes is simply too comfortable for my desk and room.As you can see, it turns out okay.
>>94602509>haven't posted a wip in 2 threads>I'm sorry bros I was building and priming different stuffi dont see proof, nigga
>>94602550o-okay I'll post it when I get home
>>94602094I saw one of these on 75% sale at my last a few months back. I didn't regret not buying it until you said that
>character is going to be wearing white cloth over brown furShould I be adding brown to the shadows then? All the areas that are close to the fur.I'm not sure how to do it without looking like I just fouled my white (using an airbrush)
>>94598555I got a response on this pretty quickly>You can get new sets of proper quality instead of those that arrived defective.should I? I'm not sure
>>94602303>Almost there.Stay on target!
>>94602276
