MERRY SLAANESHMAS EC BROS
>>94666536You mean Slaaneshmas?
>>94666536>TQI got a lifesize Choppa, and the glorious gift of finished models.Post models, gentlemen. What're you working on this Christmas?
>>94666536>Any warhammer presents today?XV8 Crisis suits and XV25 Stealth suits. My brother in law wanted to give me that nudge to start my second army because I've been talking primarily about Tau pretty much any time we've discussed Warhammer lore in the past couple years.
>>94666557Brother, your checkerboards are way too neat for two reasons1. Orks shouldn't know what a straight line is2. You're making the rest of us look badseriously fantastic work, I'm jelly
>>94666572I find it helps to pencil in the grid lines before making the checkers. Lots of cleanup work afterwards, too. Also, Orks know damn well what a straight line is. It's the fastest way between you and the guy that needs a good choppin'.
>>94666557Got the Valourstrike box a few days ago as an early present. Working on the first couple Armigers to test paint schemes and effects. Still very much a WIP. Yes, they're magnetized, don't worry.
>>94666587Beginnin' to think you's an Ork in real life wif responses like dat.
>>94666594Well, I do have a Choppa (that needs painting)
>>94666603paint it blue
>>94666605Is there any other color?
New Deldar player here, looking to get into the army after getting a double CP with my Christmas bonus. Also want to try out some of the Harlequin units because they might be fun to paint - is something like this a decent list with the new clussy detachment?>Solitaire>2 Archons (Conductor, Archraider)>Death Jester>2x10 Kabalite Warriors>2x10 Incubi>1x5 Mandrakes>1x5 Dark Lance Scourges>Voidweaver>2 Ravagers>2 Venoms>2 Raiders>ChronosIncubi + Archons in the Raiders, Kabalites split in the Venoms with some holding the backline. Voidweaver is just to farm pain tokens with battleshock, Solitaire is a suicide bomber to kill a character early, Jester is just there to flip the wager
>>94666536I designer made some divisive design decisions on the new Fulgrim, between the more fish-like serpent tail and the body horror mutilated section. Makes me excited to see the regular models.
>>94666637I agree, but I wonder what this is actually meant to be. His groinal area flayed and peeled back and a symbol of Slaanesh placed within it. Feels like they could have been more creative in the body horror/torture department.
What do I want to outfit my aquilons with?
>>94666536that's fucking lame and gay
>>94666661Thongs
>>94666707They're already kinda wearing sandals.
>>94666713American thongs, not Australian thongs, you prisoner.
>>94666657They definitely could have gone further, but it is a big deviation from the standard design language of Fulgrim himself. Really it's something that only fluff and much older art has even been part of the EC design language. That Slaanesh Herald with the tendon-harp is about the closest we've seen out of GW before. That they would bring this element to Fulgrim makes me think there's a decent chance we'll see them take it further in something with less baggage. Maybe that possessed/elite melee unit that's been rumoured?
>>94666715They're already wearing assless chaps and skirts anon.
>>94666723nta but do we have any idea of the size of the model? i wonder if belakor is bigger
>>94666735I think belakor is bigger. I also think Belakor is the best model they have made for 40k in decades, he's perfect I wouldn't change a single thing about it unlike most other models
>>94666723>That they would bring this element to Fulgrim makes me think there's a decent chance we'll see them take it further in something with less baggagePossibly, we might see some EC head options that are one to one with some cenobite designs, like the Chatterer type head design. Or maybe someone at GW knows about the Even Horizon being a 40k movie meme and makes some heads inspired by that movie.
>>9466673530k with smaller wings my guess
>>94666589i'm more worried about your unthinned paints
luv emprah'sday me
>>94666761everytime I see magnus he's bigger than i imagine
>>94666761I really hate Corax's poseHe looks like a bird that was startled and started to fly off its perch
>>94666761Is Dorn really so tall comapred to Angron and Curze? Hes head and shoulders taller
>>94666786Bigger rock, closer to camera.
>>94666786tacticalrock
>have to wait until tomorrow to buy clippers and glue and stormshield so I can start on my modelsAt least I was able to order the transitions with the Christmas money. Does GW sell that stuff you have to put on them? I think one is the softener but then there's another thing you have to put on it?
>>94666786The older primarch models are quite a bit shorter than the newer wave.
why the hell is cawl so cheap
>>94666985No demand
So now I have a dilemma for an upcoming tournament. Do I go scions in metal boxes, or oops all infantry scions? The dilemma is spawned by the fact that three separate family members bought me Aquilons for the holiday, and a fourth got me paint.
>>94666985he's barely bigger than a warpsmith
oops! all slaangor combat patrol for EC
Is head swapping my minis because I find GW face sculpts universally ugly cringe?
>>94667058depends on the headswaps you pick
>TQMy wife got me some Salamanders dice but aside from that, no. Played myself and said I don't really need any more kits as I needed to work on my pile of shame.
What are the cons of 3D printing your own models
>>94667070can't use plastic gluehard to find good looking STLs that haven't been removed
>>94667070the cancer
>>94667061Usually just somewhat better detailed and less grotesque/cartoony faces, and proportionately slightly smaller most of the time because I just prefer more realistic looking scales
>>94667077Aspie
>>94667074no higher risk than spraying primer while wearing a mask
>>94667077That doesn't answer the question any more than if you had written 'more betterer ones'.Post pictures of the heads you are using so we can judge you for them.
>>94666536>TQNah just got money. I plan to blow it on hobby stuff though.
>>94666536>TQNo I got a preorder of the quar fidwog box from my family
>>94666536>Any warhammer presents today?I got a carrying case, a new paint rack, and the Ultimate 40k Guide.
Fulgrim's skin is too smooth. He looks like an eel not a snake.
>>94667252ok
>>94667258And the helmet looks very cool but doesn't really fit with the character.
>>94667264sure
>>94667264The only helmet Fulgrim should have.
>>94667264it's pumping drugs into him
>>94667264The helmet looks like a gimp mask.
>>94667266I like what looks like the regular power sword though. Someone should give him Guilliman's sword just to be cheeky.
>>94667284It's Fireblade.
>>94667289he's got an extra hand
>>94667284if you say so
>>94667289retard
>>94666657Needs a pair of veiny tyranid bio-weapons sticking out.
>>94667165In what way anon? I get its not his real groin, we can see his groin armour above it, its more like his thighs that are conjoined. You actually see his knees below the Slaanesh symbol I didn't see beforeJust comparing it to the 30k model, the back fleshy alien tubes above the corset stiched into his skin is more body horror than the flayed skin 40k fulgrim has imo
>>94667063Good man, I got a battery powered drill last year and that’s all I wanted. I still got gifted a stormsurge by the GF’s younger brother this year but it fills out the 2k points for my tau which is nice I guess. No fucking idea when I’m gonna build it. So far haven’t recieved anything else hobby related this year. Missed Christmas with most of the family though cus the GF and I have been dealing with Nurgle’s early present. Now that we’re on our feet again we’re gonna do our rounds and do the exchanges we’ve delayed.>>94666536>TQ Closest thing to a gift is finally feeling well enough to force myself to paint again. I fucking hate highlighting so much. Soon as the other 2 are done and based I’m gonna do the laziest, least highlighted breacher squad imaginable.
How much authority does a necron destroyer lord actually have?
>>94666536Can't seem to find it on Google. How tall is the Mawloc model?
>>94666606Red
>>94667360pretty tall
>>94667360Bout the same as a Norn.
>>94667356Not any, really. Destroyer Lords are just as much pariahs as any other Destroyer, and lead over only their fellow omnicidal nutjobs. There's a reason they've never had the "Noble" keyword in any edition where it exists.

>>94667514i think nurgle would like them if the virus was enjoyable enough
>>94667509>gaping SlaanussyIt's not explicitly that, just something that evokes imagery of. And it's there just for the body horror aspect, which is good, Slaanesh model designs are already pretty ass and even though its a Pr*march model its still a breath of fresh air. Also I like that his tail is fleshy, the 30k snake tail is kind of boring.
>>94667494Curze killed himself to prove a retarded point to absolutely no one, but Angron was literally to retarded to kill himself so I'd have to give the award to him.

I remember seeing a scylla light tank STL (sentinel proxy about as high as a chimera tank) that's creator eventually made a high 80ml cylinder base for it with a joke description. My guess is players complained about height requirements and so the creator jokingly made a solution to the tank height problem. Either way I find the height requirement to be bad form as it stifles ideas and creativity when people create a "box of boundaries" that the model must "fit" into. >>94667923CSM with a splash of DG, TS, and WE models as you please. barring that, deathguard probably has the best army in terms of unit variety for both hobbying and battlefield role. world eaters are fun unga bunga but incredibly one note and often their meta (and somehow poor internal balance despite only having 3 units) leads them to just spam a single unit making them hyper boring to hobby and very predictable on the table.thousand sons have slightly more variety than world eaters but much less still than deathguard. they also have a tendancy to rely super heavily on their sorcerers to get anything done, and the troops and tanks just kind of feel like afterthoughts needed to fill slots while magnus and his cabal do all the heavy lifting.
>>94667891>>94667936What if humans also provide something squigs couldn't? They're sapient beings after all, maybe there's some arbitrarily unique nutrient or you can taste the soul in 40k.Maybe orks can keep being smart by eating brains on top of using the brain fungi of ullanor.

Traitors. Heretics. No better than the treasonous cultures we’ve quashed for the last two hundred years. Did you learn nothing? Either of you?’>> ‘Always the teacher,’ said Lorgar, and there was admiration in his smile. ‘It grieves me this was necessary, Roboute.’>> Guilliman ignored him, aiming a gauntlet at Angron. ‘I’ve heard Lorgar’s puling heresies already. What brought you so low, brother? Did the machine in your skull finally refashion your loyalty into madness?’>> ‘Hnnngh. They let me dream. They give me peace. What would you know of struggle, Perfect Son? Hnh? When have you fought against the mutilation of your mind? When have you had to do anything more than tally compliances and polish your armour?’>> ‘Childish,’ Guilliman sighed, gesturing to the burning, dying city. ‘Does it really come down to this? So pitiably childish.’>> ‘Childish? The people of your world named you Great One. The people of mine called me Slave.’ Angron stepped closer, chainswords revving harder. ‘Which one of us landed on a paradise of civilisation to be raised by a foster father, Roboute? Which one was given armies to lead after training in the halls of the Macraggian high-riders? Which one of us inherited a strong, cultured kingdom?’>> Angron sprayed bloody spit as he frothed the words. ‘And which one of us had to rise up against a kingdom with nothing but a horde of starving slaves? Which one of us was a child enslaved on a world of monsters, with his brain cut up by carving knives?’
>>94668076Thought it was appropriate for a high priest vatican assassin warlock
>>94668079>>94668094> The two primarchs met again. Guilliman’s powered gauntlets should have easily deflected Angron’s chainswords, but the World Eater’s strength drove his brother back step by step. Chain-teeth sprayed from the weapons as eagerly as the saliva from Angron’s lipless slit of a mouth.>> ‘Listen to your blue-clad wretches yelling of courage and honour, courage and honour, courage and honour. Do you even know the meaning of those words? Courage is fighting the kingdom that enslaves you, no matter that their armies overshadow yours by ten thousand to one. You know nothing of courage. Honour is resisting a tyrant when all others suckle and grow fat on the hypocrisy he feeds them. You know nothing of honour.’>> Guilliman parried, forced back further by the storm of Angron’s blows. He finally landed a glancing blow, his fist pounding across Angron’s breastplate. The chain of Desh’elika skulls shattered, bone shards scattering across the dirt.>> ‘You’re still a slave, Angron. Enslaved by your past, blind to the future. Too hateful to learn. Too spiteful to prosper.’

>>94668172Is there a way for genestealer culstist to take any form of artillery or gun platforms?
>>94668120Because it is.There's a reason why Horus Heresy is regarded to be pretty terrible because it just makes lot of the characters, namely the primarchs and Emperor, look like complete retards.Like Emperor is a good example of this, his characterization depends on whoever is writing him at that current time. Which then makes Emperor's character look like a complete retard who has no idea at best and at worst he looks like he has bipolar disorder seeing how his demeanor swings. And the main contributor to this problem is that there are like 10+ writers for the HH and every single one of them has their own perfect vision as to how the HH was. Then it is confounded by the fact that there doesn't seem to be any sort of "lore bible" for 40k. Like an internal document for GW and its writers to reference so shit stays consistent. Also it feels like there's no editorial team at BL, and if there are any they have heads up their asses. And then this shit is made multiplicately worse by GW, because it has its head up its own ass and it goes with the>"everything is canon not everything is true"approach to canon because they DO NOT care because they'll retcon any fluff that is written in 10 years time anyway probably.

>>94668430what?
>>94668466You make it out like it's too different arguments when it's arguing the same point. I don't care regardless because my position is win/win, either they're not niche enough that having a special character isn't an issue, or that they are niche so having a special character helps give them representation and makes them feel less random. Literally no one was talking about giving them a full range, it's an irrelevant point and a desperate gambit to win a failing argument.
>>94668519>either they're not niche enough that having a special character isn't an issueit is an issue because you're locking them behind the special character and making the universe feel smaller because every time this relatively niche unit is fielded it's always behind the special character, when it's not THAT niche, they're a concept that has existed long before and way beyond that one character.
>>94668519>>94668569and the entire discussion started from the idea of giving chaos orks a full range, if you see it as some kind of gamble it's because you cannot read or cannot understand what you read.

>>94668926The ironic thing is that applies a lot more to you xenosfucks here yapping about the popularity of Phoenix Lords and 'my scrotum is telling me a DE refresh is coming' than it does to 'Primarchs suck' 'Space Marines suck'
>>94668943Watch out for the samefag accusation.
>>94668897>>94668950
>>94668950>GW forgot atleast about one 30 y.o. phoenix lordthat's like saying that gw forgot about fulgrim until it remembered yesterday, there's shit that forces the release schedule to be spread out.
>>94668951I never said anything about either of those you fucking inbred retard. If you unironically think 40k players as a whole hate eldar then you've been in a 4chan echo chamber way too long and it shows in your worthless opinions which are completely detached from reality. Now go kill yourself, you'll do this thread an immense favor by swallowing a cyanide pill
>>94668979At least he is easy enough to identify and disregard.
>>94668951>The ironic thing is that applies a lot more to youNo, it doesn't, you're tone deaf, EC.
Are there really still retards who buy the whole "If xenos got more attention they'd be as popular as the Imperium!" crap? That's been shut down multiple times.
>>94669008Has it?
>>94668962GW start adding primarchs in 40k after when HH-slop got profits and neckbeard kids, who love it. Karandras with the rest of phoenix lords and units like warp spiders didnt updatet in 30 years. What kInd of release schedule you talking about?>gw forgot about fulgrim until it remembered yesterdayTwo resin mins in HH be like
>>94669012>He thinks the 'vote' was legitLmao
>>9466900840k is still way more popular than 30kit's not due to the rules, because 40k has shit rules, it's not due to the resin, because hh now has plastic ranges, and it's not due to the marines because pic related are the marines 40k gets
>>94669016>it's not real to me because... it just isn't!
>>94669025>its more popular because of Phoenix Lords and the Dark Eldar range!Fuck off!
>>94669013>What kInd of release schedule you talking about? Then one that made GW space apart the (so far) two sides of the eldar range update 3 years apart.
>>94669034You got a new thread cooking already, you massive faggot? Make sure to post it as soon as we hit page 6 or someone might make it first and take from you the only thing in your entire life that you have some semblance of control over
>>94669043Least insane xenosfag
>>94669034Not exclusively but they obviously contribute, eldar are popular after all, back when the game was snaller they managed to develop 2 armies when chaos only had one!
>>94669013Are you having a stroke, buddy?
>Somebody pounts out xenos can't be as popular as Primarchs>Xenofags go ballisticIs it a coping mechanism or do they really delude themselves into thinking it can happen?

>>94669075You might want to cool down a bit before calling other people ballistic
>>94669039Wow, two updates in thirty years. That's too many for them.
>>94669075>Somebody points out the lack of interest might be due to the lack of support>Slaaneshifag has a meltdownIt happens when a terminally online person lets a fantasy IP become his personality. One day we will have proteins linked to autism named after warhammer like there's one called sonic the edgehog.
>>94669094Don't pretend like Eldar don't get constant new releases. They just have a very large range and get it piecemeal. The alternative is some Primaris style bullshit where they just start the whole army over again to roll out piecemeal rather than actually updating it all at once.
>>94669094they got way more, eldar have a long history of model releases, unlike, say, cult marineshttps://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Miniatures:_Eldarand rumours point to even more: corsairs and perhaps even exodites
I fucking hate truescale minis, I miss the classic style so much...
>>94669097>>Somebody points out the lack of interest might be due to the lack of supportAnon that's just it. Eldar DO get support. They have several book series and were prominent in video games.Problem is nobody liked them in the games and the books sold so badly that two of the series were cancelleled mid production.
>>94669097The problem with this argument is you people think niche within a niche concepts (like gay evil space bondage elves) just need more money thrown at it to find a wider audience but you can't accept the fact that that fucking concept is something most people want nothing to do with (even within the 40k community).TLDR: Not every idea is equal.
>>94669123This conversation started about Phoenix Lords. You are the only one trying to bring the music less popular bondage elves into the conversation.
>>94669138>>94669123Hey, I'm a big fan of The Dark Eldar myself but I fully understand why they are not popular. And I wouldn't want them to change them to make them popular either. I'd rather have a variety of armies with niche appeal then all of them cater to Mass appeal.
>>94669117Anon, not even aos books get cancelled due to lack of sales. The eldar novels weren't cancelled due to lack of sales but most likely because whatever change in eldar lore they were meant to herald had been recalled. The timeframe without eldar/elves releases in both 40k and aos would coincide with the hypothesis of a range redesign almost ready to get launched getting scrapped and reworked from the ground up, and it's the same timeframe that got slaanesh out only recently(/soon).they were planning on killing slaanesh and completely reinventing the eldar.fortunately they went with conservative approaches to the lore of 40k and we got faithful updates instead.
Lorefriends, can someone explain? Is the Tyranid hivemind a distinct entity guiding a bugillion puppet bodies through a psychic network, or just a gestalt of a bugillion hungry mouths loosely linked through each other? Or I guess in other words, does the hivemind cause the synapse link, or does the synapse link create the hivemind?
>>94669165>Anon, not even aos books get cancelled due to lack of sales.>The eldar novels weren't cancelled due to lack of salesGav literally came out and said the Ynnari trilogy got cancell3d due to poor sales. The fact AoS books don't get cancelled but the Eldar books did isn't indicative of some ulterior motive, it's indivative that the boks did THAT badly.
>>94669117Whenever eldar appear in videogames they become a point of interest.
>>94669165Honestly, if the Ynnari thing were pushed harder and we got more shit that looked like the Corsairs and the Visarch I'm not sure I would be too upset about it.
>>94669171Also this, though I always thought it's the latter instead of one big hungry bug.>t. newfaggot gsc player
>>94669175>GavYou mean the guy hogging elven stories and writing them as misery porn while admitting live that he hates elves? You expect anyone to consider that novel support?
>>94669185There is way, way too much fan art of this guy for what a terrible character he actually is in the game. It's just thirsty women, isn't it?
>>94669189I don't think it's an actual physical thing, but I figured it might be some sort of godlike being? Hoping lorefriends have clarification.
A NEW THREAD HAS APPEARED!>>94669203>>94669203>>94669203
>>94669193I genuinely don't understand why they write Eldar books the way they do. They clearly understand that Bolter porn and faction wank is what people come to their novels for because all of the other factions books are written that way.
>page 5Holy throod
