>>94786627That description of being petrified was gnarly. I strongly approve. I also like how Mytho's power, even though it requires a lot of set-up time, can make such a strong facsimile that nothing has been changed. It's like a magic trick. Good plan. If only there were more than the three seniors.I like the character detail that Takako isn't so far gone that she'll ignore suggestions just out of pride. As long as it's phrased in a way that lets her save face. And the Therapist was properly unsettling even without doing a single sinister thing. Good work all around.

I am shamelessly creating a senior NPC to have someone besides Uranus or Nene to patrol with. It'll be more fun if other characters went with them.
>>94788466Is it really an NPC if you're writing for them? You will be writing for that build in the future, won't you?

Keito's father became a modestly successful martial arts instructor in Kyoto's out-of-control dojo culture, but always dismissed the Hero system and insulted the lingering remnants of vigilantism in Japan, blaming them for his own father's obsession and martyred demise. While he thinks a real man should be able to defend himself and help his neighbors, he believes the Heroes are too flashy and have corrupted motives.Keito thinks Heroing can be redeemed but only from the inside. He wants to become an ideal, like his grandfather did, and this has caused strain in his household. That makes him throw himself even more into Hero training.
>>94788492No way, bro. This is strictly fodder for character development and a disposable foil for my own plotlines. You can't call someone in your supporting cast and up for general use a Player Character. He'll show up in writefags but never as the POV or a feature.
>>94788742Theres a reason XP is more valuable than QPSome quirks dont need even half their QP, some need all of it.
>>94788742Did some quick math, and assuming he's 60 kg with the costume on and we ignore drag for convenience, dude can go more than 56 meters (184 ft) up or 90 meters (295 ft) away from a motionless standing position.
>>94788852Drag matters a lot on that scale, especially if he's only 60kg (that's very light).
>>94788890I mean at a universal scale sure but that's typical size for a young Asian man and 8kg more than I weigh. I also don't know how to calculate the drag of a human with the ability to move and pose himself, honestly. In any case, he can easily clear a 10 story building without a running start which is a hell of a mental visual. Probably can't go all-out against anybody, ever. If the opponent could take the hit, then it's a free escape method, and if they can't then the boy's donuted them up to his thigh. I bet one rising kick could bounce a soccer ball off a jetliner at cruising altitude.

>>94787266I went to sleep before this, it happens a lot somehow."Sure" or "Ok" to avoid using too much of his broken japanese, after a couple seconds of confusion because he is not used to being approached for this kind of stuff. Depending on who asks he may be suspicious of the real motive behind it but he doesn't have a reason to refuse any of the current cast yet.>>94787341Good to know I got it right. Lixdite is nor particularly formal, not that he has much of a choice right now with his limited vocabulary, but he knows about honorifics so he would at least use that, he may use the wrong one sometimes for the more situational ones. Italian doesn't have that big of a difference between formal and informal, not in speaking at least, and he was surrounded mostly by family his whole life so even when he gets more eloquent in japanese he will likely still be pretty informal.

>>94787181Are we doing the thing where each professor has his classroom and the students go around avery hour or do we have the classes where the teachers go to the students? Apart from art and other special classes from what I remember japan does the latter but I think I sasw the former too in some anime.
>>94789775I think it's the former. Jade has her own art classroom, and there's probably a science lab, but the classes each have a homeroom. Smokin' Sexy is 1-D homeroom teacher, Rosethorn stayed with 2-D, and Himeko is 3-D. 2-E has Skycarver.
>>94789775I assume it's the latter, but there are just many subjects that have their own classrooms, due to it being a hero course.
>>94787181Motives (Mochi Uranus, Lixdite Aquila)https://rentry.org/ke6hgozyA short, school interaction piece following the Murder Heist. And something to springboard off if Lixdite or anyone else wants an excuse to write some arcade stuff.
>>94789775I'm pretty much with >>94789821If a subject takes place in a classroom, then the teacher comes to them (Quirk Ethics, economics). Otherwise the students go to the teacher (Combat, Heroics, Art, Rescue). However, some of the classes might not have the same location every time (Heroics and Rescue), so that could be a situation where the teacher comes to the students and then leads them out of the classroom. Really depends on whether those classes schedule their locations long in advance or on a rotation, or if the teacher simply picks whatever they want that day. Also if something is more than likely an elective, like Spanish, then odds are that also has the students coming to the teacher even if it takes place in a classroom, because not everyone in a class will share the same electives.

Never in the spotlight much, but he had damn near every hero in the city turning to him for their investigative work. The guy was unstoppable when it came to surveillance and interrogation. That all fell apart a few years back. Poor bastard went after some big real estate firm for a string of arson cases on land that they "conveniently" wanted to buy up. The crooks responsible did next to no time, then started a smear campaign against Nightwatch, saying he used his quirk to force false confessions out of them. Four years and 17 frivolous lawsuits later, the guy is lucky to have a roof over his head. Other heroes still trust him with with their intel, but only behind closed doors. Nobody wants to be seen dealing with him.
>>94790219Honestly, respect for making a build outside of Japan. At this point, Japan is more diverse than New York.
>>94787476Good shit anon! The Therapist part seemed awkward, but the payoff where he offers to wipe Chihiro's memory was worth it. Good job!A question occurred to me as I was reading. What are your thoughts on the events AFTER Chihiro's quirk wiped out the dojo? I realize Saraki and the QRS didn't exist when you made Chihiro but do you want her to have had a brush with it? If not, I think it'd be a fairly simple 'Momo had blackmail' type explanation.
>>94769485Great job. I'm liking Jade as a character already, especially how she tailors her teaching approach to the needs of each individual student. Though I'm thinking I missed a prompt or something with how in-depth the art bits are kek. Regardless, they fit the characters really well. I also liked the little plot bits you weaved in, like the scene of her discussing the gun with Karaburan and her setting up training/internships with students in the future. Looking forward to seeing more of her.>>94786627Damn, even The Five would be jealous of just how well that plan came together. Swapping between perspectives as each piece of the puzzle fell into place worked well here. These guys mean business. I'll be curious to see how Impakt handles this, especially if Floor really did get merked. Honestly, I could see Bobby and Hifumi getting involved considering their internship history. Nice work.>>94783070>BobbyI'm not great at this, but I suppose this might fit for the start of the new school year:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MkN--nO5G1g>>94787642He's from Texas and does enjoy karaoke, so it's not out of the cards.
>>94787667Glad you liked it!>The first of our dorm interactions! Nice. The whole dorm idea seems fun after all. Do look forward to it though.>If only there were more than the three seniors.ngl, I think I got the idea from Inigo-anon, but yeah I wanted to get some cross-class interactions... Maybe if we just can't get any other seniors we'll have to let the sophomores go on patrol with some freshman once they get their licenses.>I like the character detail that Takako isn't so far gone that she'll ignore suggestions just out of pride.I figured Chihiro's diligence also helped out. If it was a clown like Inigo who'd be trying to goof off, make jokes, and generally infuriate her the whole time... She'd probably yell at him even if he gave a good suggestion later on.>And the Therapist was properly unsettlingHe's a neat character, and somewhat of a direct anti-thesis for Chihiro, who's all about accepting the worst parts of her life and facing them head-on. I quite like him.>>94790331Hehe~ Glad you liked it too anon.I like Saraki's whole thing, so my stance is that if I can make it work, I would like to. The big spoiler is essentially:Her quirk didn't correctly develop. It was taking in Qi to grow into it's proper state, but Chihiro was panicking as a kid, thought her quirk was evil, and was fighting against it. She's essentially puking up all the Qi she absorbs instead of 'digesting it' and mistook that for the correct way to use it over time, leaving her quirk in a very janky, permanently starved state. It's why her quirk took her so much effort to master. So the end result matches Saraki's usual patients, but I'm not sure if it's in character for him not find out what her quirk was turning into first.
>>94790465The interns getting involved through their mentors would be a good way to bring it together, maybe showing up to help Impakt mourn. Could always go the angle of having Floor in a coma, too. That way mourning can happen without strictly confirming his death if he ever comes back.>>94787667Missed this earlier, but the cameo from Popsy was likewise an interaction bait excuse for her anon to get involved again if they're still around, or maybe she goes to her former interns to talk about what happened and gets them involved.
>>94790528>spoilerHonestly, if he figured out the quirk would fix itself he might well just sulk and discharge her without treatment.
>>94790538nta, but Imamu VS team PR-D could be... a really interesting ego boost for Hoge. I can see most of them having issues with his petrification quirk, only for the light to slide harmlessly off of Hoge due to her quirk. Then it becomes her job to stand out front and intercept the deadly beam attack for everyone else, which, while utterly terrifying, would probably feed her need to show off and be in the spotlight like never before...
>>94790583But wouldn't the light from the spotlight slide off her too?
>>94790574>spoiler...lmao... Alright, I didn't expect that, but it's hilarious to imagine... I guess it makes sense though. A mystery that solves itself isn't much of a mystery. Maybe he even facilitated her misunderstanding with her quirk out of raw spite.
>>94790583That would be a pretty based Quirk interaction in a confrontation. The squishy ninja becoming the tank.
>>94790613That last part would be well in character.
>>94790607Kek. That's some emotional damage right there. If this was an anime, I bet you'd see some arrows pierce right through Hoge's heart...
>>94790621Then that works. Saraki got ahold of her as a kid, found out she was profoundly disappointing and screwed her over out of spite. No clue when this'll come up in a story, but let's consider it canon for now.
>>94789041kek with each of these updates, the dudes get more jacked and the girls get curvier. We're reaching true superhero proportions.>>94787476Great job. It's good to see some more of Chihiro's inner thoughts. After the first scene, I'm really looking forward to all the fun interactions between the roommates. I liked it a lot overall. >>94787476I wonder who had the misfortune of being assigned student patrols with Mochi.
>>94790845Well, Orochi was the flattest non korean in 1-D, so I guess it is an evolution?
>>94790845Good to hear you enjoyed it anon. And yeah, room mate interactions should be fun to explore. Wonder what we'll see next... I think there was something with Umeko and Hailey on the horizon?>PicKek. Makes sense to me. Seeing so many kids pick up a sword must have him feeling left out... I mean Hifumi was always a sword nerd, Inigo picked up the sword, Snady went 2000% batshit insane and also converted to the church of laser beams, Chris and Junichi are also swordsmen, Imai got 2-E'd... The hand-to-hand crew needs to rise up. Not sure how much he could help her though since she's focusing on kicks... Feels like kicking is more Inigo and Hifumi's thing. Maybe Impakt taught Bobby some kicks to help round him out? I could see him doing that.>>94790998That is a great question... Whoever it is probably got pulled along some pre-planned route to avoid the clinic and had to suffer a few hours of Marxist indoctrination... Truly a grim fate... It'll probably be left up in the air unless someone decides to claim the opening.>>94791064ngl, I thought that title went to Chihiro, but I suppose it's hard to tell with a kimono. To me she looks like her first image can give the koreans a run for their money though.
>>94791064>>94791082That depends on which cup chart we're going by. The opinions were divided. Orochi, Chihiro, Hoge and Koreans can sometimes come out differently when compared.
>>94789579Her sneks lost their baby fat. Or maybe they just moved it to Orochi's—...>>94788951If you gave your car engine some legs and taught it muay thai then sure you probably could see something special.>>94791064>anon was fooled by the classic Hoodie Gambit

>>94791082>Maybe Impakt taught Bobby some kicks to help round him out? I could see him doing that.Floor was a muay thai specialist wasn't he?
>>94791124That's fair yeah, especially when I'm sure the sizes differed between images and over time... The true answer is probably something only Inigo and his stat sheet knows...Or I guess the school nurse.>>94791153I honed in on Impakt because fellow absorption quirks and I feel like at least one of his super moves was a kick, but that's true. I'm sure Floor spared no effort in offering his own expertise as well.
>>94791143Actually, it's a zero sum game. The big got bigger and the small got smaller... Orochi just barely squeezed into the big side thanks to the hoodie gambit. The one leading the pack is probably Yui.
>>94791176But think about the potential in the revenge plot for Floor with Bobby pulling out the kick he taught him.

The finisher can be some combo string ending in a flying knee to the jaw, a gift straight from Floor.>>94791211Always feels nice to take a break from rotting. >>94791186I actually agree with that. Orochi more or less got "older" because of her resurrection forcing her body to get stronger and adapt to the awakening. So she didn't actually have a "growth spurt", she just got the growth she would have over the years in one big moment.
>>94791273She shedded her skin, got it
>>94785988Sorry, I got home and I fell asleep instantly so I couldn't respond. That's cool though, I'm actually surprised Lixdite would think that, and it could make for an interesting dynamic. If you have any questions on how Ryusei would speak or react, don't be afraid to ask.>>94786150Probably a lot of physical education. Sports, running. He won't be teaching any martial arts, but self defense and 1v1 sparring is definitely on the table for the kids to figure out what works with their quirks and what doesn't.>94786627Remind me to not get on these guys' shitlist. Good shit. Who do you think the next hits are gonna be on?>>94787476I won't lie. I'm really fond of Chihiro. Her personality and insecurities are just too damn relatable.>>94789910Someone PLEASE give this poor kid a hugI'm headed off to work in a bit, but I'm kinda curious. We have some themes, but what are your builds' voiceclaims? For MHA and for Fate.
>>94789910Interesting and unexpected interaction. I will definitely do something with it after my intro, which should be very soon. Lixdite was in character, and I liked the way you characterized the aura combined with Mochi's inner turmoil a lot. Do you have a general idea of how Mochi would try to recruit Lixdite at the arcade or is it too soon? Would the aura make him too nervous to try? The complex stuff will probably go over his head anyway but I do have a neat idea at the arcade which may expose a bit of the blood powers that should tie in well with the "noble cause".>>94787181I read the Murder Heist too and I find the name very appropiate, you don't see that level of coordination and planning on normal assassinations, especially not the calculated showiness of it all. Cool read.
>>94787181Red3FingerAnon, do you mind if Joe Dumpkin joins the roster? After all, Villain teams can never have enough mentally unstable muscle(and a tech upgrade). For him , it would be worst case scenario he just goes back to what he was doing, and best case scenario NOBODY stands in his way EVER again! If you do accept it I'll attach a lil' intro in the Michelson writefag I'm wokking on
>>94791380speaking of that writefag, are you guys cool with having an emergency bunker underneath Shiketsu?
>>94786627oh man this was pretty damn good, great job anon i always enjoy operations like this
>>94791396I'm not up to date on the topic, but what's this about?
>>94787476Ey! Congrats on overcoming the rot! Seeing the first interactions in dorms is cool. Hopefully we'll see more. Good on Chihiro not even being tempted by Mr Therapist even with the horrors in her past.>>94791396That's canon anyway. There's bunkers/tunnels that connect to other places like UA
>>94790326Even got someone from Iceland its wild.
>>94791519Huh. didn't know that. >>94791494Well I had 3 writefag ideas for the ratman:1. Michelson discover's Yeti's Tunnels and talks with her2. Train Ian on how to be a proper glowie and not supress his quirk-given instincts3. Build an underground emergency bunker system under Shiketsu (now this'll take place after the death of Conman, upping the need for it).The plan right now is to do all 3 in one, with Michelson accomplishing the task with the help of the afformentioned 2 students after talking with them
>>94791287>Who do you think the next hits are gonna be on?Imamu is taking some time to gear up and grow the brand now that the potential leak from Conman is plugged unless some wise investigator pieces together coded hints in Conman's new book and evidence from the scene of Floor's choking incident... if only there was a senior with a grudge who could take the new cop teacher's criminal investigation course wink wink nudge nudge so his next writefag will be a round of getting some new gear to go with a build update from the nemesis/shadows of evil on him, and going to some other villain groups and indies to extend recruitment invitations and do some villain politicking.Only once he's expanded his personal power and forces will he be looking for a student victim to send a message to Himeko that he hasn't forgotten.>>94791311Mochi's focus right now is trying to develop a friendship so he can get Lixdite to go with him to one of Imamu's sermons, which will give me an excuse to show his public side in the temple and maybe have some background hints at Arach-kid poking around the temple under the guise of a worshiper.Mochi, however, is dearly in need of some kind of social connection besides Imamu's indoctrination. He's a bitter asshole, but he could easily end up enjoying Lixdite's company for real. Lixdite seems patient and empathetic enough to understand Mochi's crust is a coping mechanism.Depending how things go, the plot could either swing Mochi corrupting Lixdite or Lixdite redeeming Mochi.>>94791380I was thinking of including Joe Dumpkin in the aforementioned recruitment wave, if you want to tie that in. Imamu would approach him in the Oni identity offering the luxury and comfort afforded to his enforcers in exchange for being muscle for him.>>94791396I believe it already has some underground infrastructure, like the simulation room. So wouldn't be out of nowhere.
>>94791287Glad you liked Chihiro's antics.>what are your builds' voiceclaims?Voiceclaims though... That's hard... Maybe something like Saimori Miyo from 'Watashi no Shiawase no Kekkon'? The VAs for both versions have that quiet, whisper like voice to them.Though I can't really find any good clips of just the character talking. Only clips that include her talking.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKLYSECCN_4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy7P5vk1QtIHimeko's probably easier. Lolibabas are a common enough trope and they often have a similar sound.... Guess this works? Character herself isn't secretly old, but she's got the kind of voice tic I tend to hear. Main point is that she sounds like a kid that's trying to sound like a granny, rather than sounding like an actual granny. Sadly it's the kind of way of talking I don't feel translates over to dub very well.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbd0BU4bl9AHow about you? What's Ryusei sound like? Honestly the topic makes me curious how other anons expect our characters to sound. I'd imagine some people have a voice they associate with the each cast member, and hearing how they differ seems interesting.Personally I've been hearing Cowboy Bebop voices whenever I see Smokin' Sexy in a writefag.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbY8Z3E06Bo>>94791519Now comes the part where I don't just dive back into my rot nest... Glad you liked it of course. Hopefully this kicks off more dorm interactions.
>>94791590alrighty, though unfortunately I haven't read all the writefags so I didn't know that.

>>94786627I enjoyed the POV structure and the petrification scene was well done, but I do have some criticisms, spoilered since you didn't ask. The intro was needlessly vague. I honestly didn't have a clear picture of where the story took place until Mochi's second POV. The only other criticism I have might be invalid considering this is a 'first heist', but there was very little tension in the story. It was clear from the setup nothing would go wrong and I had to resist the urge to just skip to the end. Again, everything going according to plan is fine for a 'first heist' piece, but I'd caution against making a habit of it.
>>94787476Day in the Life: Chihiro Dorm Edition!>"Are you... like... alright over there?"I'm guessing Faith asks Chihiro that a lot. I love how blunt Faith came through in the convo. You know how couples rub off on each other. It's very Chris-like.. Good to see they're getting along as roommates, though I can see Faith complaining to the Clique about her weird roommates. (They all have weird roommates, except maybe Faith). >her quirk might be going haywire...I remember Yako's worst fear is losing control and something like "the incident" happening. Enough that she'd rather isolate herself than let it happen again. This seems to be an emerging running theme with the class, Chris is worried he'd be too cold / distant from losing memories all the time (Read: The Stranger), Hoge's quirk could make her vanish forever, Hifumi just lost control of his quirk in his Trigger-event, Red Gigan, etc. I think >Chihiro's quirk gave her some non-standard organs. My mind went somewhere else here. Forgive me. Still, Happy to know she has a support system with her bestfriend and Hiro check-ups.>Combat ClassAnother fun scene! And it's an interesting twist. Inigo's gonna miss Ippon's manly judo classes, but I'm sure it'd be fun to see Ryusei trying to teach 20 kids. Now if we can only get Popsy in the faculty....>Amahagene HimekoMy favorite scene is this tidbit right here. Very cinematic. I imagine the seniors hold some sort of contempt for 1-D stealing the spotlight last year.>Patrol SceneGreat read!I laughed at their varied dialogue. You're right, Inigo wouldn't be able to take the quiet. I wonder if the protocol for patrols is to call for back-up first and report the incident, but the girls chose to jump in right away. I didn't except the therapist cameo, but I can see the plot threads you're setting up here. Nice to see you rotting less, and hopefully you carry that inertia to the next piece. Which I'm excited for! Great work!
>>94791732I prefer it this way, to be honest. His roaring and guttural noises have more impact this way.

>>94791915I don't watch anime or movies, so I just went with the most readily available database on VAs, which is Arknights for me. I listened to some of the Mandarin and Korean VAs lines but decided to go with english anyway since it would be easier to understand what her tone is more or less.
>>94787181Right, I've still got a few of these guys left to do.Here's Dragonfish.
>>94791958How many characters have you dumped!?
>>94791802I do have some difficulty visualizing where things are happening as well in the Japanese setting, since I'm not as familiar with Japanese city life as I am American city life. So I tried to keep things loose enough I wasn't inputting something that didn't fit. I also tried to keep the scene descriptions spread throughout the POVs, sort of like a heist scene showing you different parts one at a time.Things were rather smooth, which wasn't great for excitement, but it was intended to be an inciting incident to an investigation/mystery plotline more than a climax. Imamu's past fight with Himeko was also him showcasing the pettiness of his character and earlier recklessness that can resurface when he's provoked enough, while this was to characterize him as more methodical, careful and brutal.
>>94791963Hundreds. Thousands, even.
>>94791811>Day in the Life: Chihiro Dorm Edition!Indeed! I'm sure before too long we'll get more dorm hijinks. Maybe it's time for weekly Shiketsu game nights...>I'm guessing Faith asks Chihiro that a lot. You know... I can see that. It's alright though, before long she'll be like Hoge and will start just looking at her unchanging kuudere expression and just automatically knowing what mood she's in.Anyway, glad you liked Faith's characterization here. I think she always had that directness deep down and Chris just helped her build up confidence.>This seems to be an emerging running theme with the classIt really is... Gives them all something to bond over at least!>My mind went somewhere else here. Forgive me.Tsk, tsk, tsk. Jokes aside, quirk biology is interesting to think about. Part two should have a bit more of granny, so do look forward to it... As for the seniors... Well I think Nene was chill, and the other two were contemptmaxxing... So you might be right.>I laughed at their varied dialogue.Truly they're masters of discussion... And yeah, 100%, she should have called for back-up first. Overconfidence leads to tiny oversights like that... Although ironically it was for the best. The closest back-up would have been Mochi, and I suspect he would have tipped off his own allies before sandbagging as hard as humanly possible. Granted Takako would have probably welcomed the enemy reinforcements so she could show off more...ngl, I like Mr. Therapist. I think he's a villain with some great synergy for Chihiro.
mechafag from last night here again, why is it that getting a 5 kilometer range for your natural weapon more expensive all on its own than like an entire quirk worth of abilities? I'd like to try and get some sort of missile attack for my potential hero, but having a short range missile is kinda stupid since like, basic bitch shoulder launched missiles in actual militaries can have more than a kilometer of range. Compared to being able to bend reality in many ways at half the cost or less, it seems excessively expensive.
>>94792023Take Clairvoyance as your base quirk, buy your comically long range, then take Natural Weapon with Versatile Quirk.
>>94792023It probably just calls back to the same thing as yesterday. MHA is a lower power setting largely focused on street level fighters. Bombarding the enemy from 5 kilometers away isn't anything special for a mecha in most mecha settings, but for a cape it's a pretty big deal. It means you can attack other people from basically complete safety.
>>94792035That'd make me a sniper, yeah. But then I'm an infantryman, not a mecha pilot. I don't think you can draw from three quirks at once, unless I'm misreading something. And if you can, it feels unlikely the point budget would allow it.
>>94792065Huh. I figured long range attacks weren't all that useful in a world with energy shields, super speed, precognition, and invulnerability type stuff. Aren't there a plethora of ways to no-sell said gun?
>>94791590 how attached are to the lives of your own villain builds? wouldn't matter until later if at all, but I have a few ideas
>>94787476Nice work! Takako is perfect, from the one-sided grudge against her kouhais to snapping a Therapist for something she has no intention of changing. I was actually thinking about how she feels about 2-D, so it was surprising to see some of my own conclusions- the only thing I'd add is that aside from the ego based frustration, she likely finds them generally untrustworthy.>>94791287I imagine her with Sawashiro's, but here are some others that are equally fitting in my opinion:>Yu Shimamurahttps://youtu.be/2_kvB_tIM7Y?t=23>Yumiri Hanamorihttps://youtu.be/twhAL4kHMiM>Kayano Aihttps://youtu.be/eqdsmnFlEDo?t=88
>>94791885When I play a game that's text only I always come up with a unique voice in my head for every character. Even if they have voicelines I'll ignore them for my headcanon, which usually involves an accent they don't have.I do this for writefags as well.
>>94792079The vast majority of the population has almost useless quirks, and even among heroes and villains their quirks might be useful but they'd doe to a gun anyway
>>94792094Good, good. Glad you liked it and glad she was in character. I'll try to see if I can find a place for that lack of trust for the second part.
>>94792128Never forget that guy with a gun who can aim well was one of the most popular and effective heroes.
>>94787181>Name: Gyoyu Kamiya>HN: The Delinquent Hero, Greasetrap>Career: Hero Student, Freshman (1-D)>Costume: Mundane>Modifiers: Athletics (Muscle)Martial Arts x2 (Drunken Fist)Unique Style (Pompadour Style: Third Fist)Tinkering (Autobody)Gadget: Weapon (A set of bolas)>Quirk: Oil RiggerObject ManipulationTarget: Narrow (the oil in human skin and hair)Function: Movement, Shape, Transmutation (into a sticky glue)Duration: RangeQuantity: SmallRange: TactileQuirk Refinement x3: Oil Rigger's transmuted glue is resistant to all known solvents, except for human skin oil.Note: Greasetrap cannot control the oil anymore once it turns into glue.Even though Gyoyu models himself after a delinquent, he acts like the romanticized image of a good-hearted Japanese delinquent as part of his hero image. He's already got plans for his hero brand, and is a hobbyist manga artist with a webcomic.Gyoyu's fighting style makes use of his own skin oil, much of which is stored in his pompadour giving it shape. He extends the stored oil like a third fist. Since he has great control of his own skin oil, he is completely immune to acne.Gyoyu's father owns a mechanic's shop, and he tinkers with cars in his free time.
>>94789641He can't go as fast as a running human would, but his speed isn't slow enough that he'd need to start in advance. The main issue he can run into is getting caught in a big crowd, since he needs a wide empty area to move comfortably. Also I can make cards for other builds, I'd just need the info and descriptions to put down.
>>94792083I have plans for Imamu and Mochi since they're the only ones that are really my own. Imamu I want to be taken down by the sword family and Arach-kid since he's their nemesis and I don't want to cuck them out of the kill. Mochi's fate is still up in the air, but I want him to either be redeemed or become irredeemable before to complete his arc.Out of the adopted dumps, I only really have long-term character plans for Mythopoesis. I picked up Kester cause he was a funny bruiser man from Africa, and Zyra's anon volunteered her so if they're around that's up to them.
>>94792221Guns took over the world for a reason, they're really good.Besides, if you're facing someone who's immune to bullets, it's not like any other weapon would help.

>>94792438Fair enough.Incidentaly if anyone else needs a villain for their hero to beat up or whatever, feel free to use any of mine (although I am doing stuff with Surinam Toad Girl).
>>94783070I think this vibe fits current Orochi more. Back in the day, she would be more like rock and whatnot. I think this TRANCE-like style (I dunno if this one track is Trance tho) fits her. Intense, her new self is a "remix" of her past self, carrying the ideals but in a new manner, but now she has found herself and no longer needs to hide who she is.https://youtu.be/2y9kpHVTbBA?si=xRb2fgPTgUFd08U8
>>94792520oh i dont meant to hog them or anythingthe s-class ones or ones that would be in max security prisons are the ones i will probably use (i think dreadnought, dewi angkasa, kanami shimizu and maybe tough guy are all)
>>94778466I don't think I've written it out clearly enough but Reiji is absolutely a kid with wool over his eyes rather than a villain sympathizer or turncoat. Unless something happens to put him in a bad situation he's absolutely fodder for getting his comeuppance but being pretty solidly pro-Hero in the end. Anything can happen of course but he was never meant to be a 'secret,' twist villain or anything.
>>94792634So if something like the recent murder of Conman & Room gets traced back and something Reiji leaked is identified as a cause (whether or not anyone knows the one who leaked it is Reiji), how's he going to respond to that? Come clean and try to play double agent? Try to atone for his mistake without either side realizing?
>>94792684At the moment? More of the latter. He's still selfish and would be deeply afraid of personal consequences for something that big but would still feel a need to do something to atone. He'd need to hit some sort of breaking point to confess as he's not yet a good person, leaves him room for growth to become more responsible or to get worse and dig himself into lies until he's actually a bad person.Right now he's malleable and unstable as most teenagers are but generally trends towards being a good person, he's just terrible at it and too self-centred to be heroic at the moment. The implication is Imamu has basically completely blindsided him on what he's actually doing, he's completely out of his depth and doesn't even realize how hard he's messing up.
>>94789041>>94789048I dunno if you did this intentionally or not, but those pics of Orochi have the same quality you put on Sandy when drawing him, it feels like she is staring directly at our souls. Generally, you only do that with Sandy and his unsettling white eyes.
>>94792717>his unsettling white eyes.He did give her white pupils. Maybe that's why?
>>94792739Chihiro also has white pupils, but it is not that bad IMO. The way he does Sandy's eyes is really unsettling to me for some reason.
>>94792684>>94792714The Conman murder at least wasn't due to any information Reiji leaked, kind of the opposite really. Conman was Imamu's original leak, when he was brokering insider information and double-dealing. He cut off the flow of information, leading Imamu to begin hooking Reiji as a replacement. Once things start to come to light, it will become very clear what the Red Finger does to moles that decide to grow a conscience and Reiji will be sweating bullets.
>>94791287>>94783070 Lets do both voiceclaims and themes.>MichelsonVoiceclaim:Man trying to find a voice thats only a bit southern is really hard, its either none or full tilt, so this could easily be headcanonned as more southern or less and It'd be more than fine, but the best matches I could think of are Sarge from Carshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPPENwiUEIITheme:Speaking of Cars, his theme will be Fin McMissiles from Cars 2, I was thinking Kronos Unveiled from Incredibles but Michelson isn't that dramatic of a character.>Joe DumpkinVoiceclaim:Joe's Quirk and general concept is meant to make him inhuman, a behemoth that stands outside of human boundaries both in appearance and mentality, so his voiceclaim will be the alien Cannonbolt from classic Ben 10.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PCdPZSaeUg&t=20sTheme: I wanted theme that has unpredictability, intimidation, a splash of insanity, and of course is banger. >>94791785>Control F Iceland>No resultsVindicated.
>>94792753Pretty much, Reiji's only real hope until he grows a spine and is ready to get essentially sniped is to undersell his abilities to Imamu in a hope that he'll be less important. The problem is he's presumably done very well so far so it's a hard sell.Once he realizes he also wouldn't feel able to go to the cops, government or Hero Association due to the inordinate amount of metaphorical firepower he'd be drawing for throwing Imamu off so any acts of rebellion would be small until he grows a spine or loses his spirit, which might come sooner or last all the way until the Red Finger plot is done, I don't really have an answer by design.

>>94792945Oh, hi Chrisanon. Since you are here, I have a few questions. I am drafting the reason why the Atsushis got that powerful in the first place as a hero Family, and the reason I made was that back in the century of chaos, they helped/were a major player in a siege around Tokyo and the Imperial Palace to take it, and ended placing the current Imperial Family/solidified the government after helping conquer the Imperial Palace and Tokyo.I'm wondering if Desolator could be part of that fight/would be fighting on one of the sides in that major conflict.

But I'm not familiar with Mesoamerican music to use anything else. To me, it's the preamble to the rage he's going to unleash. The calm before the storm, if you will. I guess you can take this as a consolation prize if that doesn't fit.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grFQygwA27k>>94791287>We have some themes, but what are your builds' voiceclaims?First time I've had to pick out a voice claim. Off the top of my head, Itō Kanae fits for Ichigo.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wq8HrhURaNU
>>94791287Simply the fact he doesn't chase fame like most commercial heroes is already good from his point of view. Even if he doesn't aggree with the no killing rule Lixdite is convinced a real hero should, which is part of his problems too. Ryusei seems like a laid back and sligtly informal person, would he be likely to call his students by nicknames like "kid" or "boy" or similar? For now Lixdite has a lot on his plate so the most likely questions would be school related, like how he balances being awake both at night for patrolls and in the day to teach. It will take a bit but the first serious question he would ask is "what does it mean to be a hero?" which from what I read on his profile may be a bit complicated to answer at this point in his life. From what I see they have the same ideals, they are just disillusioned for different reasons which I think is interesting.I already suck at finding faceclaims, voiceclaims are even worse. For Lixdite the protagonist from persona 4 is probably close enough. I imagine it as something between that and joker from persona 5.>>94791590I see, Lixdite is in fact surprisingly good at figuring out people, and his skewed worldview means he is not easy to corrupt, he already corrupted himself in a sense. I can see this unlikely friendship working, and Lixdite will keep hanging out with Mochi for a while just because he still wants to figure out why he approached him. Being called a god resonates with his compulsion but not to the point he would be blind to the undertones, the language barrier will actually be in his favour for a while as charisma can only take you so far when you only understand half the world the preacher says. He has a buffer so to speak, which will give him the time to get to know Mochi more before the sermons really start sinking in. Mochi seems to make it relatively obvious that he dislikes his limited mobility, so Lix is already planning something for that.
>>94793528Glad you enjoyed it anon. Thanks for reading.

>>94793552WOOOH, LAPPY MENTIONED BABY!
>>94791590I ran out of characters. This is more about Imamu, would he keep the "church" and his shady parts completely separate? Or would there be some secret bases near the sermon place? If someone gets hurt in about a 250 meter radius, more if it's a sacrifice to him but that's not relevant. It could create some suspicion but it could also be covered up pretty easily in the guise of charity hospitals.>>94792261I see, would he surf to school if it were to rain? I honestly forgot he could do that for a moment. Also thanks for the offer but I suck at syntesis and I am not happy with my faceclaim either to be honest.>>94792855I am curious, would he ask his friends? If the authorities can't help usually that would be what a teen does. You said he is not a bad person but stlill has not much of a conscience, would he be worried enough about his friends to involve them? Would he even have friends that he really considers friends?
>>94793031yea its something i really enjoy of his design, that and also how his eyes became less swirly and more clear as time went onin terms of appearance he's probably changed the most and i think i can refine his design even more
>>94793677>in terms of appearance he's probably changed the most IMO Sandy, Chris, and Orochi are more of their own characters due to their art. Chris and Orochi nowadays resemble nothing of their original face claims or have just vestigial traces of the original. Its quite interesting how you managed to change them to have their "own" personality. On a lesser extent, you also did it to Feral to make her even more animalistic.
>>94793552>I'm not familiar with Mesoamerican music to use anything else.Neither am I, but I find JoJo music oddly fitting. It's not perfect but it's way better than anything I found. The second one is also oddly fitting for a scenario when he snaps. Good job.
>>94793674I cannot believe I somehow missed the most important part of the sentence. I meant to say that he can feel if someone is bleeding/hurt in that radius. I am not sure how big that is exactly, if it's too much I can make it less, I never planned to have hard numbers for that ability, I did not think it would be relevant but I probably was wrong.
>>94787181Thinking of making the #3 Hero. That spot isn't contested right now, is it?
>>94793787Billboard ranking writefag drops tonight. Better build fast.
>>94793695Who else really needs a glow-up to show their personality? Or rather who had a faceclaim that wasn't great and needs it the most?
>>94793674>>94793738Imamu keeps the temple and Red Finger as separate as he can. He might not even introduce Lixdite to the Red Finger side of the organization if he feels he's better suited as a Hero Student sponsored by the 'legitimate' side. He's likely to try something similar with Kraken, since he likes muties.Their actual lair is built underground, adjacent to one of the Kyoto subway lines, and was constructed using Mythopoesis' Quirk and some hired engineers to make sure things were sound. The temple could have some kind of legitimate charity blood donation thing as a red herring for Lixdite to find. They don't do human sacrifice since they believe in the inherent divinity of all Quirked people, and Quirkless people are too rare in comparison to bother with most of the time. Imamu will sometimes publicly butcher and prepare an animal for meat in something similar to/borrowed from Islamic halal meat preparation, then donate the meat to the poorer families among his congregation who cannot afford it.The scariest thing about a cult leader to someone with a good sense of reading other people, or a human lie detector like Ms. Teel, is that they are as skilled at rigorous self-deception as they are at convincing others. Imamu fully believes that he is in the right, and that all the crimes Red Finger commits are nothing more than part of a just and legitimate war effort for his nation.
>>94793787Wait till after the writefag so you know its not taken desu, a lot of high rankers moved up.
>>94790087>>94789821I kept wanting to answer this but forgot. I think this makes more sense for japan yes, and a peculiar school like Shiketsu probably has a lot of strange classes and exceptions. Lixdite would be very confused by having to study economics for example. By the way Lixdite is fluent in english, because of videogames, he had to learn it to interact with the world, so if there is an english class he will at least do well in that.
>>94793836English is something that some Japanese schools have as a core class rather than elective, so Shiketsu having it as an elective is extremely likely. He should be good to go on that end.
>>94793674>would he surf to school if it were to rain?Yes, though he'd take care not to splash any water if there were people around. If there weren't any people around or there would be no major consequence he would surf like picrel (just imagine him on top of the wave instead). And if you change your mind, my offer still stands. This is also open to anyone who wants a card.
>>94793819Whats the technology like in the base? I was planning on having Joe construct essentially what is a far larger version of a LAN in order to have a relatively untraceable and private virtual database and computers they can use for their endeavors (obviously without using the internet), so that he can prove he's not just muscle and can help in other ways.It also allows stuff for Reiji to do, because while Joe can get the the hardware and make it nice with Tinkering, software stuff like making malware or Zip bombs can be up to Reiji, allowing him to have a dilemma of using the full extent of his abilities to make some truly nasty computer viruses or not
>>94794050They've got plumbing and heating, and use generators for electricity without tapping into the power grid and leaving an energy footprint. Imamu has thus far opted not to have computers in the base on account of how much working with Reiji has taught him they are a security nightmare, so if Big Man shows up with a surprising amount of knowledge on setting up off-the-grid computing, he would immediately be in Imamu's good boy books.

>>94793860Interesting, I would assume the american kids did not take english electives, somehow it feels strange for them to. I may use that at some point, we don't have an english teacher I think, I don't like making NPCs so I think I will just use a faceless placeholder for now.>>94794003Ok, I can work with that. I think the road to school from the dorm is big enough for that.>>94793819That is good information to know, Lixdite knows some of those rites because of his myth knowledge but would never admit it, at least they will give him a good idea of what Imamu is like. I know how cult leaders can be, it's kinda terrifying, Lixdite does not so the legitimate side is less likley to raise suspicion. He may even take some inspiration from him, animal blood also counts for his quirk, even if it's very reduced in efficiency. Helping people is something he likes to do so helping is very likely. The interesting part would be how confident Imamu is that he can keep the "bad" parts secret, because if Lix finds out then blood will flow. Mochi has to worry less about his compulsion, if he gets found out the punishment would be very light as he was essentially brainwashed and Lix does have mercy for that. On the other hand Mochi didn't technically lie to him yet, I am not sure if it was on purpouse but it's a good thing for him.
>>94794203>>Dislikes Karuga ItoNta but damm, left a strong enough impression to be listed with lifelong dislikes. I also somehow missed she is the Vice Principal, kinda strange how she was treated if that's the case. But then again the school has a lot of problems now, giving too much power to a stranger may be considered bad.

She'll eventually let Jade go on patrols with Umeko as well if Umeko shapes up, since she was primarily worried about sending out an under performing student with someone used to being a sidekick. If TaKo anon wants, he could dorm with Gyoyu, which would give them a chance to interact a bit. I also kinda like the character teamup name Oil and Water.

He can fly using streams of water, cut through nearly anything with ultra-pressurized jets, or flood whole streets with massive waves. His Lord of War fighting style focuses on sudden movement and unexpected attack vectors by moving his body within water and attacking from multiple angles at once. His meteoric rise in rankings are in part due to his branding - his natural personality has an extreme flair for the dramatic, and his agency - Leviathan Co. - plays up his chuuni antics, making him very popular with the younger demographic. This, along with an unending need to see villainy crushed utterly and powerful quirk, has rocketed him in the rankings and to prominence in the hero scene of Japan.

>>94794453Not what I meant. He is a massive chuuni with a powerful quirk that rose to top 3 spot by embracing his chuuni instincts. If can be a top hero then we have some problems. Then again we still don't know how he really is, he could be a really good hero on parameters other than popularity. For someone that doesn't believe in the commercial part of the hero buisness he is a menace. It's an interesting build, regardless of where you take it, what I meant to say is that the implications that come with him are deeper than they appear at first.

I dunno if it was clear so I thought I should clarify.
>>94794505Most of the main building is normal stuff, and so most of the classrooms would have something that Business/General would use. Halfway though he gets bored enough to start using the tips of his tentacles to speed up the process. >>94794672I'm glad I wasn't the only one.
>>94794759Akuba - he hardly ever uses his middle name, it's mostly for people who know him well - would have seen dot art before. He'd make an off-hand joke about it being Aunty Style artwork, but still give it due focus. Pic related. He spends most of the time doing the spiral pattern, leaving a black hexagon in the middle, then goes back in the several minutes to add in first the curving arms, then the sharp connecting lines, and only last the six white dots at the center. If someone calls them a smile, he gently corrects them: they're eyes. It's quite meditative for him. Until the last segment, which sets his mood back to tense-shouldered and smiling mask affixed again.

>>94795445Quirk Era Idol is for being actually extremely popular even beyond your hero acts. You're as much an influencer as a top Hero. You win the fan war. It requires you to have another full time job basically to maintain it. Its not Required by any means, its just it'll always mean you win out against people with the bare minimum Popular.I honestly don't know if we have anyone but Rosethorn that took it.

>>94795516>satoru>heromaybe in his fantasies. supportcucks stay in the back of the MP bus.
>>94795445Having Underground prevents you from being on the board entirely. Enforcer has a negative effect, because most of your activity is covered up and if the public knew what it was they couldn't think of you as a hero. Other Career is a malus as well, because you spend your time doing other shit and don't rank up quickly. Having a Nemesis distracts from effective ranking unless your nemesis is an extremely high ranking villain constantly in the public eye and you always triumph over them. If you have Unpopular then you'll never, ever be out of the bottom ranks and Unreliable stops you from getting most mission types so you sit idle more often and don't rank up. Awful Fanbase could be a benefit if they're the obsessive kind of morons that someone like Taylor Swift has that spend their whole lives sacrificing themselves to boost your numbers. But it's more likely to be a detriment because they'll discourage anyone not already in the cult from becoming part of your fanbase. (The MLP effect.) Glory Hound is a benefit until you get caught out and smeared for it and then the rebound is high, so it's a gambler's strategy.Your quirk matters. Psychic quirks except the -kinesis group and clairvoyance will creep out the public and make you less trustworthy, so that's a detriment. If you have a Heteromorphic quirk or other severe levels of mutation, that's a detriment, though it can be overcome by working harder and getting luckier than your more standard peers. Quirks that inspire awe and envy, like world-shaking superstrength, are always crowd-pleasers and wiwll rank you up faster. Having Popular gets you in the top 300, which is a huge jump. Having Top Hero puts you in the Top Ten automatically. Having Sponsors will increase your rank, because it's free publicity and consistent fanbase growth. Your specialty has different amounts of glory: Battle > Rescue > Evacuation. Sidekicks don't rank high. And you need PR or you'll plummet like Popsy.

Hello, Sandatsu Owari. I'd like to play a game. You have a friend. A very special friend. A certain Mio Katsuragi, correct? Well, I have friends, too.Dangerous friends....Slimy friends.A certain Kiyoura Shidehara, better known as Slimenuts, has came inside Mio.This has had disastrous consequences on her health.AIDS... HIV... Herpes... you name it, and Mio has been inflicted with it from this encounter. There is only one way to save her, Sandatsu. In front of you is a box. Inside this box, is the Hypodermic Hero: Vaccine. Real name: Juro Watanabe.Poor Juro does not have very long left to live. In 60 seconds, a bomb in his head will explode. He has a Quirk, and I know how ravenous you are. His Quirk will allow you to cure Mio of her certainly fatal STDs. All you have to do... is reap it.The 60 seconds starts now, Sandatsu.Make your choice.

>>94797188nta, but he's regenerated from literally having all the meat removed from his skeleton. Turning off plaguebearer and rewinding the diseases away is pretty likely. Even before that though, I feel like there's a logical inconsistency in your argument, because you're treating those diseases as both a part of plaguebearer and then not a part of plaguebearer at different points. It should only be one or the other, so you'd have one of two scenarios:Case 1: Those diseases are part of the growth and training of the quirk, and therefore when he turns off the quirk the diseases go away too. He cannot purge them without dropping the quirk, but he can effortlessly ignore them. Diseases acquired that aren't part of the quirk would remain, but those would be purged by his regeneration like normal... Or even worse, he can add new diseases to plaguebearer by turning it on and off again, allowing him to no-diff diseases without even regenerating.Case 2: Those diseases are not part of the growth or training of the quirk, and therefore wouldn't get reaped. Since diseases aren't part of his quirk, they don't have any special protection against his regeneration. (FYI his regen is the time warping kind, not the enhanced metabolism kind, so whether it's cancer, a virus, or whatever, he could get rid of the disease entirely and wouldn't just be regenerating away the symptoms and constantly hemorrhaging energy.)Either way he largely mitigates or ignores the drawbacks of the quirk and can simply drop it with no loss or risk (he has a rewind quirk that works on other people, so he never had a use for plaguebearer to begin with).

I'm not super clear, does the sword dojo still exist or did Chihiro accidentally genocide it? I was thinking a suitable intro writefag for Vaccine would be practicing Tai Chi sword exercises at the dojo. He uses the meditative martial art to help cope with his existence of eternal torment.
>>94797769The dojo still exists, but Chihiro is the only surviving practitioner/ master. She has a few students from Shiketsu but none of them have graduated. I don't know if Chihiro offers regular classes.

>>94797769As >>94797769 said, it's just her. Some people survived by virtue of either not being there, but for the most part the students and staff are all dead. Officially the dojo has been closed for about 9 years, so there's no official classes. (Not to mention that with the new dorm system she's probably not home consistently enough to hold classes anyway). You could take the route where he was already a member a decade ago and just wanted to come back, and she just happened to be there to keep the place clean however... Her quirk is explicitly dangerous for people with very low stamina by the way (which certainly applies to Vaccine), so morally speaking, she'd need to be extra careful not to use her quirk anywhere near him.Alternatively, we also have another PC character that owns a dojo named Ryusei (the guy who's the teacher for the new freshman class). He doesn't have much for students either, but I think he's still ostensibly in business, so his dojo is another great option with a lot less hoops to jump through.
>>94793490Hifumi. I did speak about it a bit before (https://desuarchive.org/tg/thread/89126571/#q89134875), but I thought I'd try to be a bit more specific this time because I haven't really provided the voice last time. The accent is still pretty much as described.>a quite strong accent that's a mix of Kyoto and Osaka dialects (the latter developed somewhat artificially to sound tougher) with very strongly trilled Rs. Sometimes oddly soft sounding Kyoto dialect phrase can slip in. Also uses quotes often. Overall a rather stereotypical Yankee voice. But from the characters who speak like this who I found when looking, they sounded either too rough and raspy when I took them from yakuza movies (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKE8V6QDdqk https://youtu.be/IgsTQxXIXZg?t=18), or the opposite with them being too high-pitched and screechy when I turned to school delinquent shows (https://youtu.be/qrT4HONRReg).But even setting that aside and focusing on just the voice. I'm not sure. Someone said they read him in the voice of Kankuro from Naruto, but it doesn't feel quite right to me when I think about it. It's somewhat too deep and "breathy". When I looked, voices that sounded closer to what I have in my mind were Yuichi Nakamura (https://youtu.be/ntmleCbwM_M?t=45) and Mamoru Miyano (https://youtu.be/ddxgvtJMM_E?t=145). I think I'm leaning a bit more towards the second one.But dunno, I'm likely overthinking this, and just listening to a lot of voice actors one after another threw me off.
>>94797938Okay, the Ryusei angle sounds good. Chihiro and Vaccine could have some interesting conversations about their Quirks if they ever met though.
>>94797958Glad I could help. Good luck on the writefag anon. And yeah, it's an interesting interaction. She'd probably be... perpetually worried about him. People that are sickly or very tired looking are something of a sore point of hers due to the whole dojo incident.

>>94796349>Tech is getting better,It's genuinely not. There are things we can no longer do. Many of our technologies are worse in various ways — like reliability, sustainability, efficiency, replicability, trainability and dispersibility — because they're optimized for things like transportability or cheap production or maximum output. Very often, more than you'd like to admit I'd bet, new and recent technology is worse at completing its job than something it replaced. Just like in biological evolution, things become more adapted to their circumstances. That does not mean that what is new is better than what is old. It means it's better fit to its context. Not all contexts are created equal, and a good-enough solution does not flawlessly iterate on its predecessors. And that's not even getting into how a singularity of any kind requires one to take as a given that infinite growth/development is physically possible. That's an absurd, indefensible claim. Whether we're talking about tech singularity or quirk singularity, there is a fundamental, obvious flaw in its presuppositions that is trivially disproven. The disagreement of a singularity is very much about if it can ever happen, not about when. And the majority conclusion by a vast margin is "no it can't what the fuck are you even talking about".
>>94798898I'd separate here the technology as the ability/the know-how to produce something (focus on the logy) and the objects actually produced. There are cases of lost knowledge and such, but overall the technology in the first sense is improving. The fact that it's preferable to produce crap due to economically reasons is a factor that'd have a negative effect on the aspects of technoLOGY that it abandons, but we have fairly reliable ways of preserving knowledge know, so the factor isn't as huge as to offset the other positive ones.In the MHA terms, I guess the closest discussion we could have is "do better Quirks necessarily make for better heroes?"Generally yes, but I feel like you're taking it a bit too far in the other direction. The context is not fully independent of the context that came before it, so improved adaptation doesn't seem to be a total waste.Singularities in these contexts usually aren't defined by infinite growth, but just the growth reaching a point where it gets out of humanity's control. This applies both to technological singularity and Quirk singularity (as well as some other similar theories). And I think you might have misinterpreted my answer a bit. It wasn't about when. It was indeed about whether it can happen at all, just that the answer to that question is based on the speed of the development in the future. Higher derivatives of quirk potency over time determine the existence and value of the limit, etc.
>>94799110>Higher derivatives of quirk potency over time determine the existence and value of the limit, etc.We agree at least on this.
>>94799110nta and I haven't read through the whole argument, but I'll also throw out that Quirk Singularity stuff has a factor to consider outside of being broadly stronger. They're becoming more complex. Think of something like Eri's quirk, which lets her turn back time on someone, or Stars and Strikes who just has straight up reality manipulation. If it was just a case where a quirk that produces fire led to a quirk that produces more fire, it wouldn't be such a issue. However having quirks that are simply foreign concepts to both biology and science could much more easily reach that point where it cannot be controlled. And the idea of quirks becoming progressively more complex over time as they mix together is more compelling to me than the claim that they're becoming stronger. For example, AfO and OfA are both extremely powerful, early quirks, but the broad concept of messing with DNA feels like it's in line with biology. Viruses in particular. Meanwhile early cases of such reality warping powers as seen in modern era MHA aren't something I recall seeing mentioned in the settings past. You could make the same counter argument that such an increase in complexity might plateau and stop growing worse, but personally I'd say when we started to warp reality with our voices or revert targets in time that something's already gone DEEPLY wrong.
How do I stop wasting precious free time on vidya and instead use it for writefagging?
>>94800406Just start writing.Depending on who you are, it might be good have a regular schedule to do it. Have a space where you're only going to writefag once you're in it. And keep that space free of distractions as much as possible. If you're doing something that doesn't involve writefaging, leave the designated space and come back later. While you're in the space, give yourself some time to cool down and get bored so that you're in a writing mood. Your body would rather hurt itself than get bored, so being bored is usually a good way to force you to do something you don't feel like doing.
>>94800480That sounds like an advice for fixing a sleeping schedule rather than writefagging. I have no idea who here could afford setting a special space just for writefagging, but I envy them. Even just a regular schedule would be tough to pull off.
>>94800829Space doesn't to be that big of an area, especially if all you're doing is writing. You could set up a stool and a folding table in one of the corners of the room and that would be enough, but you do you.
>>94800992I don't have any corners big enough for an extra folding table, nor would I lug my pc to one and back for every writing session.
