I like warhammer

Does anyone here play Death Guard and can tell me about Pox Walkers in game? The Combat Patrol discount seems a little too good to be true, because that’s a lot of Pox Walkers.
Repeating from last thread, to the anon who made this this is great. This is perfect way for 40k to have 'little green men' and have cliche alien tropes likes flying saucers, tripod walkers and death rayguns
>>94794729For me he's like an 8/10 mini. His skull pauldron is worse than his previous model, his helmet is kind of silly looking (though done well on this model, so I guess it can look less like a ballgag with a little effort)His pose, though? He's mad as hell and it's great.
>>94794710>TQPicrel lives in my head rent free. And I hate the DKOK aesthetic but somehow Steel Legion officer with a skull mask just hits different
In Elemental Council they note that tau who've interacted with humans have picked up the habit of smiling from them (tau normally communicate emotions with hand gestures).
>TQDiscounting big fuck-off named character mega models like Morty, I kinda really dig the Rubric Marine just from an aesthetic standpoint.
>>94794810That's been the case before the novel. Necons also do the same by strikes poses and making hand gestures to convey emotions.
>>94794729>>94794761Gave him astorath's pauldron and toes and a better head halo and a bunch more purity seals and it fixes a lot of the issues I had with him
>>94794787Helps that the officers are unique, I think. Though if I'm being frank the long boots and shorter coats of the regular troopers are more my speed.
>>94794754>cliche alien tropes likes flying saucers, tripod walkers and death raygunsThat's literally necrons, they even just gave them tripod walkers last edition.
Building orks for the first time, any must have units?
>>94794855Man, they really did ruin them. We could have gotten flying pyramids but nooooo, "They're just Tomb Kings in spaaace" they kept whining as if it were a bad thing.
Do the Ethereals from the 4th sphere share the whole anti-auxiliary viewpoint or is it just the grunts?
Age of Sigmar gets two Gitz armies, but 40k gets nothing for Grots? How fucked up is that? When will we get a full Grot subfaction in the Ork Codex?
>>94794864A $900 coomer model that can proxy as a stompa. If your opponent questions how exactly she can fit boyz in her just whip out her socks.
>>94794729It's alright, but the ball gag helmet bothers me. Would have preferred something more in line with the blood angels chaplain helm. That model is awesome and it's gonna be a sad day when GW retires it.
>>94794855They flying moon crescent shaped ships not disks. There walkers are cool, but they're four footed and have insectoid designs, not quite what Im talking about even though obviously they were inspired by the cliches
>>94794881You know something doesn't have to be exact to be an obvious homage, right?>crescent shaped ships not disksYou know a crescent is a circle with a hole to one edge, right? And you acknowledge that the new walkers are indeed inspired by the cliche'd tripods, the fact that they have 4 legs is irrelevant because everything else about them screams "war of the worlds".
>>94794864It seems pretty likely that we'll get a big Ork refresh next year. So for the time being I'd focus on aspects of the army that are unlikely to get updated. So if I was starting Orks now I'd go either heavy on the Beast Snaggas, buggy heavy Speed Waaagh, or an elite Ork army with lots of Kommandos and Tank Bustaz
>>94794876>but the ball gag helmet bothers meNot that anon, but you just ruined the model for me lmao.
>>94794864>warboss>boyz>grots>many trukks>beast snaggas + beastboss
>>94794868Not all Fourth Sphere share the same view on aliens. There is a Fourth Sphere character who regretted what she did against aliens and committed a suicide attack for atonement. There is a fourth sphere guy who left the empire and joined the Enclaves.T'au are individuals and so are the Ethereals. With that said, the FS Ethereal in War of Secrets seems to be on board with it.

Insane that the Judiciar never got a standalone release.I'd love to use the body of one to kitbash a jump chaplain for my Deathwatch, but fuck buying one at the current Ebay prices.
>>94794893yeah I was talking about both the ships and the walkers, I get your point anon.
>>94794912I've always thought the best route for Gue'vesa troops would be dedicated melee infantry. It would fill a gap in the Tau army range, it would make sense in lore because humans are bigger than Tau, and it would hint that Tau think humans are more expendableAnd you could give them cool Beam Sabers or Heat Hawks or something

>>94794914>And buy all the old boyz kits before they get removedDude there's probably going to be 20 Boyz in the next edition's launch box, and ten in every starter after that. The new Boyz will be dirt cheap and they won't have the protruding ape ass of the current kit

>>94794912I think the Kroot should have some dedicated vehicle, maybe some sort of buggie. Yes, it clashes with the more primitivistic look, but I feel like they should be able to keep up with the rest of the Tau mechanized armies. Also, I wonder what their dropships look like.

>>94795008>yes they areThen you haven't read the lore at all? The T'au since they were introduced were described as having strength equivalent to humans. From the first codex to the loremaster+ episodes about their lore. The role was always described in the first article for the Gue'vesa from GW. They are an in-between of the Kroot and the Fire Warriors. >>94795043>The role was always described in the first article for the Gue'vesa from GW. They are an in-between of the Kroot and the Fire Warriors. They can use advance T'au tech and perform satisfactorily in CQC.GW can yeet that shit out the window whenever they want, and when releasing a kit for them would be a great time to do it. Tau don't need a infantry unit that's halfway between Fire Warriors and Kroot. They could actually use a dedicated melee infantry unit. The most important thing to know about 40k lore is that it is never set. The lore is a living thing, it moves like water. Maybe when you grow up you'll learn that.
>>94794710Which one is the tacticool compound raid chapter? Don't say Edgybirdguard, they're ninjas, not the same thing.
>>94795070NIGHT LORDS
GW shouldn't release Gue'vesa only because it takes away from the alien vibe of Tau as a faction.

So I am looking to get into 40k again after about 13 years. I want to start a Black Templar army but I was a bit curious. Is it possible to use the Horus Heresy models for a 40K army? I really love MKII and MKIII armor and would love to have units rocking them. Plus getting a tank, dreadnought. 10 Terminators and 40 Tactical marines for $267 feels like a steal for modern GWS
>>94795022gobbos are for breeding
>starting an eldar army>think iyanden lore is cool and wraiths are badass>1 box of wraiths is $63Anyone know how I can build a wraith host without dropping $500+
>>94795069I think Tallerians would make more sense for that role.
>>94795086>N-no uPathetic, every single time with you subhumans lmao
>>94795088>Is it possible to use the Horus Heresy models for a 40K army?Yeah you just run them as tacticals. The terminators don't scale very nicely, and you'll have to run the dreads and tanks as legends, bit you can do it
>>94795070Raptors are the canonical reasonable marines chapterThey use actual non-shock-assault combat tactics like ambushes and trapsPaint their armor with camouflage Do extensive recon and prepare accordingly for the missionThey’re a breath of fresh air compared to all the retarded shit the other chapters do

>>94795190everything about aos is good except for the goblins.
>>94795156I mean you could, but I wouldn't expect people to accept what is essentially a proxy if you're going to rely on pickup games. At least running the legends rules you are running the model that the datasheet is intended to represent. >>94795081They do have that vibe sometimes, and if they were combined their terror stuff with the raptor stuff the other anons mentioned they would make for a really cool chapter, as it stands their aesthetic is terrible while their lore is cool. >>94795085>>94795112I haven't heard much about them, this is really cool, gonna go on a lore-dive. I can't decide if it's really cool to have a chapter that stands out in this way in 40k or if it's trying a bit too much to veer away from what makes the setting unique, as I mentioned to the first anon I replied to, perhaps they should have something in addition to this pragmatic dogma to give them a bit of a 40k spin. Like instead of being navy seals, they should be like navy seals stuck with Colonel Kurtz (the apocalypse now one, not the night lord), so some twisted religious spin or other ideology or gimmick, otherwise they feel a bit like they're fighting against the setting rather than embracing what's unique about it if that makes sense, word salad words,>>94795113these guys are cool, I think the jetpack serves as kind of a cool analogue to repelling ,and the concept of doing a loud tactical breach feels in line with what space marines could do and it makes sense, where as something like raven guard stealthing around feels like it's just a bit on the silly side or just doesn't quite feel like it makes sense, the idea that they're aiding rebellions without most people not even knowing they're there just feels weird when they're 3m tall superpeople who could never move in the open in urban areas and such
>>94795197The aos goblins are some of the best miniatures gw has ever produced. They are all insanely dynamic, super interesting, and fun to paint/build.
>>94795156>So I couldn't just run them as regular models because I like the look more?depends on what they are, there should be no issues running the stuff that has a 1/1 unit match like predators or vindicators, but some of the fancier HH stuff would require legends or proxyingbut if you're playing casual no one normally cares if you pull from the legends list
>>94795213Raptors are very cool.If you like seeing kitbashes, Pete the Wargamer on YouTube has been working on his Raptors army for a while and has videos about each unit.

So, WAG sells Scions at 20 models for 40 bucks. Time to put together the all scion army.6 x 10 Tempestus Scions (720pts)3 x Scion Command Squad (210pts)3 x 10 Kasrkin (330pts)3 x Chimeras (255pts)9 x Mortar Heavy Weapon Squads (150pts)Leaves me with 335 points. What do I take to round out the list? Some more order givers would be nice, as would something to babysit the home objective and mortar squads. Maybe a nice centerpiece tank as well, a distraction Vanquisher might be worthwhile. Scout Sentinels are great if I go Born Soldiers, but useless if I go Bridgehead.

>>94795190Nah, they are explicitly doing it everywhere, in AoS, in Kill Team, in 40k nonMarine armies, Necromunda etc. It's just 40k Marines getting the short end of a stick, GW blatantly is biased against them and just uses them to extract a chunk of money from time to time in the most lazy and insulting way possible.>>94795262Yeah, just like they wasted it on Kroot, Votann, Eldar, Genestealers and other niche stuff. It's why Kill Team got fucking Ratlings and Vespid recently instead of more Marines, which it would if GW only cared about that. They really, really don't care about popularity and are just doing random things because they can afford it. And who knows maybe they will stick. Exodites will happen, you can screencap this post. Lost and the Damned with DarkAdmech as well.If they need money they can always repose their generic Tacticus Primaris CAD model and it will sell anyway.

Which is quite old. But fuck it we'll use that price, 45 bucksSo that's 232.5Now, unless the Artillery kit costs negative 2.5 dollars, I think we can pretty safely assume that buying the box set is cheaper than buying the models separately

What temp and humidity outside do I want it to be to prime stuff againI want to paint but I hate it being winter
>>94796323Little to no humidity is important, but I've sprayed in -35c all the way up to 30c. If it's cold you'll want to give your can a warm water bath after shaking it a bunch. Use the hottest water out of your tap, shake your can aggressively for 5 mins straight, soak can for 20-30mins, then shake can aggressively for 5 mins. Spray your shit as you normally would and bring them immediately inside as soon as you've done a small batch. Would suggest separating in batches of around 10 minis, and keep the minis that need to be sprayed inside until you're ready to spray them. If you're outside for more than 10 mins you'll want to give your can another warm bath so it doesn't get too cold as the act of spraying will cause the can to cool faster than you'd expect

>>94794754I first suggested them when I saw the aos goblin with a shroom growing out of his brain and as one of the "wings" a grot army could pursuethe main wing being represented by the more classical grot revolutionary insurgents, lowly grots with makeshift tools and all sorts of allies that may fight for a measure of integration into orkish society (human diggas and wandering ogryn technobarbarians that aren't under imperial authority)the second wing representing more elaborate tools such as tanks, killa kans and proper soldiers in uniforms and with training, continuing on the theme of the red gobbo revolution by intergating ussr aesthetics beyond the red gobbo itself, and also shamelessly stealing from metal slug for some rickety supertanks and the trope of nazi/ussr mad science experiments for more advanced killa kans, for example with just brains in jars piloting them, or gobbo cyber-supersoldiers, or even fully AI guided robots, tin boys, (which funnily enough actually keeps on remaining in the theme of the worker's awakening)finally the third wing of this hypothetical range is the mars attack goblins, growing on the idea that the grot revolution might somehow stumble upon a way to partially revert the degeneration that led to the fall of the brainboys of old, and again attaching onto metal slug which also integrates aliens alongside its enemy soldiers, and I think the blend is seamless enough there to be replicated here tooand the fungal first inspiration for this image, as well as the fungal element of the brainboys' rise and fall to me fully justify also giving this more alien-looking wing of the army the instantly beloved mushrooms with guns that appeared on the rulebook; though their exact nature and origin doesn't matter now, they might be a purposefully engineered and weaponised strain of shrooms, or an alien race they've allied with, or a grot that has mutated too much due to the brainboy's fungi, or those fungi going wild on their own

Shows the outcome of releasing the grots brain power at a large scale, like the USSR industrialised so quickly. Combing the shrooms with guns to them as well is great, always thought they were a joke by the artist, about orks being 'shrooms with guns' but having them be weird weaponised pseduo-squigs fungal things fits really well.
>>94797338It honestly would solve a lot of issues with ranges being so damn long and allow less cluttered board terrain to have a functional game.I am consistently disappointed that we have tempest decks as the official rules this edition and NONE of the extra mission rules are anything too wild or flavorful or interesting that could actually change the way you play the game.
>>94797344The plate that's probably not even a selector on that gun (there seems to be a little switch over the trigger guard). There's a bunch of AR18 and FAL elements in there as well. Just a general "look at some real life guns that fit 40k" type stuff.
>>94797346>He's probably gonna throod this thread tooOnly way to avoid it is to report the thread, link back people to the old thread if he makes a new one, and then make a new one instead of using his early thread when the old thread reaches page 8if he makes a thread on page 7 nearing page 8, like he's done recently, that too must get ignoredif he makes an early thread under the pretence of having reached image limit, that too must be ignored and another one must be madehe must be starved to death, essentially
>>94797391I'm with you other than the image limit thing. I come here for an image board. Not being able to post images in a thread conversation sucks. If the thread is full in any capacity, you start a new thread. If he spams images to try to force image limits, then just report the spam.
>>94797366>>947973842nd Ed Wargear book uses a different piece of art for the Autogun.
>>94797387nta mars attacks martians in general would probably be a WiH level faction if we went with the card versions rather than the movie one
>>94797390Yea a lot of 40k guns are Chinese Mystery Pistol tier in terms of design, just copying random bits because that's something a gun is "supposed" to have without understanding why it's there. No this doesn't really matter since it's 40k.https://youtu.be/4HNaB7l2GQk?si=sn2piJiiyxLU43TY
>>94797429>probably be a WiH level factionSounds like the kind of thing orks need to re establish themselves as a serious galatic threat since their latest big event was getting utterly annihilated by Tyranids. If random micro xenos like the Indraa can be WiH level then orks can be to, without the Krork cancer
>>94797439The only problem is that the artist copied the model, which was cut to fit the model. Meanwhile, in the OG art, the gun is intact.
>>94797461Yeah I know.
What can I print/kitbash to distinguish these three fellas ?They are under Ironstorm Spearhead with Adept of the Omnissiah/Target Augury Web/Master of the Machine War.The first one is most likely my warlord.
>>94797429power levels don't matter, especially when accompanied with their level of nonsensical thinking for aims/goals/means/etc

>>94796275That'd be awesome, but some people are saying deldar
>>94797305Meant for >>94797202
>>94797493Its what the people want, they are the most 40k faction in 40k
>>94796585I've come around to it. It's hard to pose dynamically though
>>94797391Oh I remember when anons did that. The anti-throoder threads were actually pretty cozy. I guess I'll volunteer as ban bait if our throoder throods and the jannies don't do anything about it.So what are some nice thread questions? And should I put newrecruit (army builder) and unitcrunch (mathhammer website) under the community links part of the OP?
>>94797502Come on now. Orks are more 40k than DEldar by a country mile.DEldar are clearly Moorcockery
>>94794895Out of curiosity why do people think Orks need a big refresh? Aren't they just missing a few character updates like the weirdboy now that they got their Tankbustas?
>>94797408I'm sure similar variants littered White Dwarf, Inferno! and Warhammer Monthly as page breaks. They really put Mark Gibbons to work for random symbols and doodads.
>>94797544Both those websites are super useful and I approve their addition to the OP. Pretty sure Unit crunch used to be up there already before someone had to make room for more news updates.Thread questions should always try to be about current game news like game rules changes or model releases or, failing that, be personal and generic enough that everyone can answer regardless of their faction.
>>94797470you should be able to reasonably repose the servo arm and the direction of the heavy bolter fairly easily and you've got 2 head options to make 1 unhelmeted and 2 helmeted ones looking in different directions take pic related for example, rough plan but should give you enough variability even while using the same pose without too much complex work, just by rotating stuff around the one on the left would be holding the axe parallel to the ground, aided by the simplicity of the prostheticideally I'd try using the servo arm for something cool like aiding him in holding the axe or crushing a trophy up in the air
>>94797600>Out of curiosity why do people think Orks need a big refresh?I havent heard anything about an ork refresh, the only thing I can see maybe happening is another shot at the boyz kit maybe
>>94797600>why do people think Orks need a big refresh? Mainly the ork boy kit, and then there's lots of concepts that people really want to see explored more (pirate orks) or done better (mega armors), but more than strictly "needing" a new big update, one seems to be in the air anyway as they seem slated for the 11th ed starter set.
>>94797600It's mainly that the infantry is extremely old compared to a lot of the other models, so people naturally think that means they need to be refreshed. Boyz, burnas/lootas, stormboyz, and grots are all very old kits yet make up for a decent chunk of the Ork infantry lineup (mainly Boyz for obvious reasons).

>>94797491This is awful
>>94797756I just said they would a very advanced faction, not that it would ever be a thing
>>94797600They're mostly looking to see the properly multibuild Boyz kit replacement, and likely the associated kits that used the old sprue as a basis (lootas/burnas, Warbikers, trukk) as well. Some people think the Nobz and Stormboyz kits are crusty.I am in no hurry to see any of those replaced, though an expansion sprue for Stormboyz so they actually have an in-kit Nob build would be nice. Otherwise I'd much rather see our character portfolio filled out more. Replace our old resin weirdboy, a multi-option footboss, a fucking kustom force field mek that isn't in mega armor.
Non throoder thread. Ignore early thread posters before page 8Alert throoder threads of the real threads using the sage function.>>94797802>>94797802>>94797802

>>94796825Because the ratio has nothing to do with points, it has to do with box size (more specifically, how much plastic comes with it). Pricing is pretty uniform across box sizes, with the outliers coming from stuff like seasonal bundle boxes.
>>94794744They're really good in the new detachment. They are overshadowed by cultists in the index detachment. If you have spare points they're fine as a backfield screen but they are just slow chaff from a datasheet perspective. DG have really good internal balance.
