Really need to get around to spending an afternoon writing up a little story for my dudes. Got a general idea in mind but need to flesh it out.
>TQMy guys are just Black Legion, but I liked the theme of a chaos warband that thinks it's too cool for rampant chaos 'gifts' and mutations, and I figured if I'm going to represent the angstiest traitor legion I might as well make them seething bittervets to go along with the cope. Most members of my band sport an armor piece or two, usually a pauldron, still painted in the Sons of Horus colors to display that they are veterans of the Heresy. I also take inspiration from the old 2e era chaos marines that had splashes of color like yellow pipes, green gun cases and red CC weapons, so I treat that as a kind of in-universe throwback too.I also don't like a lot of the CSM daemon-engine models, because I prefer mechanical daemonic war machines to fleshy mutated ones. The Helldrake is about as far as I want to go. I dunno if you've tried it, but sometimes you can fill a gap after priming by running a bunch of gloss varnish into the gap and then painting over it. Sprue marks, mouldlines and nubmarks sure, but never gaps, even on the bullshit studded heresy shoulderpads that come in two pieces
