Hello Kitty is a product brand with no real social aspect to it which is the main point here, again I point you towards >>96803865. We are just in 2nd, maybe beginning of 3rd generation step of transferring to a more unisex society, so yes social activities are bound to have more women in them, sooner or later, its just the reality of things we cannot change much. It will eventually stop at a point of equilibrium and frankly speaking I think 40k has already mostly approached it and momentum has/will slow down

I'm now imagining it for him or 40K got an anime adaptation, it would all be weird. Fringe questionably Canon shit with bizarre interpretations like catboy and half-Eldar agents of horse head inquisitor with an animal skull AdMech priest operating out of a space hostel hosted by orangutans.
>>
>>96804187
>40K got an anime adaptation
It would be focused on a single Guardsman through a campaign to defend a planet from a Chaos uprising, showing certain aspects of 40k through a more 'grounded' view. Marines would appear on both sides and be shown as equally terrifying, some of the cultists would be shown as being unaware of the Chaos fanatics manipulating the uprising and have valid points about the Imperium being awful (only to be broadly executed before the MC's eyes), AdMech would be shown as esoteric and unnerving to deal with, and over time members of the MC's squad would be slowly and tragically killed off until only him and one other (either a love interest or a best bro) are alive, at which point the MC sacrifices himself to save the other in a way that's initially emotional and tragic but is quickly swept aside to show that only the other squad member really cares, as the battle the squad sacrificed so much to win was ultimately a tiny victory amidst the campaign and the squad is simply written off as one among the untold many who died along the way.

There's also this dumpy guardsman she has a crush on

Because when a good adaptation hits, it hits hard. I saw Cyberpunks number go up to several hundred thousand concurrent players from about 50k in less than a week because of the well like anime. This was before their big DLC and patch.
Arcane was so big it basically destroyed LoL lore because the show got bigger than the game and the devs started retconning lore to fit the show instead of the other way around or what they initially said was set in an alt universe.

Nah there is nothing stopping 40k from being a faithful anime adaptation, you must have a very skewed perception of what anime is. A lot of it is obviously Western-inspired in some elements.
I imagine a (good) 40k anime to be maybe somewhat similar to RedLine but with hyperviolence instead of racing, maybe with some battle royale elements. Hell some redline designs were already kinda 40kayish, like the gothic quasi-nazi colonialists with cybernetics that had piper organs play whenever they were on screen.

Are dark eldar a horde army?
>>
Here’s my idea for a new faction: they’re abhumans that have been breed for millennia to curtail their emotions and turn them into freaky logic machines. They are to regular human emotion what eldar are to humans. They look like humans but with slightly larger heads but creep out humans they meet due to their flat affect and lack of motion in their bodies. Chaos hates them the most because being around them is like being around Fabius Bile/other Reddit atheists. They have a form of sorcery based upon pure logic that can’t be corrupted by chaos but is fucked up in its own ways. This was inspired by the dunyain if any of you have heard of them.

>The whole point of the Dûnyain ethos is to overcome these limitations and so become a self-moving soul -- to attain what they call the Absolute, or the Unconditioned Soul.

>But unlike those exotic Nilnameshi sects devoted to various other forms of "enlightenment", the Dûnyain are not so naive as to think this can be attained within the course of a single lifetime. They think of this, rather, as a multi-generational process. Quite early on they recognized that the instrument itself, the soul, was flawed, so they instituted a program of selective breeding for intellect and dispassion. In a sense the entire sect became a kind of experiment, isolated from the world to maintain control, with each prior generation training the next to the limit of their capabilities, the idea being that over the millennia they would produce souls that could climb further and further from the circle of before and after. The hope was that eventually they would produce a soul utterly transparent to Logos, a soul capable of apprehending all the darknesses that come before

GSC are not based on logic. The be clear, dunyain look far more human than GSC. They can pass as ordinary humans, they just have to mimic a lot of instinctual reactions that humans have because they have much greater control over their own body and awareness of sensations. Looking at one who isn’t doing this is supposed to be uncanny because you can sense something is wrong but aren’t aware of what it is.
>>
>>96804485
>GSC are not based on logic
They definitely are, because that is what Broodmind operates on, since the cult is under the Patriarch and Patriarch is a glorified meat computer when it comes to its mental faculties. Even performayive things like Kelermorphs doing vigilante stuff is driven purely by a cold, rational, spider-like brain behind it.
I understand that you were inspired by some other fandom and thought it'd be a good fit for 40k, but IMO its not unique enough to be its own big faction. Its aesthetically too close to Delaque/GSC and thematically its a recombination of certain Eldar, Blank and Votann traits. Feel free to kitbash a killteam though, or hell a whole proxy army if your heart so desires.

No silly, I am being realistic as to what format would be good for an anime adaptation
>think of when seeing 40K is hyperviolence
Ultimately yes, there is only war and thats the sole important part. Stylish toys killing each other and spilling blood is what 40k as a hobby is.
Stylish toys killing other stylish toys would warrant stylish animation of sick-lookin' freaks killing each other. Simple recipe for success.
>battle royale
Perhaps you misunderstood my choice of words, I mentioned it just because it'd be a foolproof format, since
1) you'd be advertizing ALL of the toys at the same time, shining a spotlight on every model range you could potentially buy from
2) one of the most popular non-tabletop examples of the franchise, Dawn of War + Expansions, was a free-for-all battle royale with a somewhat contrived excuse to showcase all the factions
Will it come at the cost of story complexity? Maybe, but fuck story complexity, 40k was never renowned for it to begin with and my expectations would be low to begin with. But you can't go with well-animated brutal action as well as the "your faction will be in this one, too!" approach

My guess is it's part of the 13th Company who were lost in the Warp together with Russ and are coming back with him at the end of this edition. Definitely looks like Space Wolves. Might be also Thunderwolf Cavalry or a Terminator Wolf Lord because that was also rumored to release soon.

Damn GW really loves those dogs, they just had a kill team announced.
>>
>>96804535
In a way. They started as a religious order that was obsessed with the concept of predestination and free will. Free will doesn't exist because we are all influenced by events before our birth, which they call the darkness that came before. Their primary goal is to escape this entirely and become creatures of pure logos that comprehend all factors that led to the present moment and transcend them.

Think of them like a race of sociopaths. They understand ordinary emotions perfectly but don't feel them in the same way, and they will do anything to manipulate people or accomplish their goal. They have this concept called The Shortest Way which is basically the most efficient way to accomplish a goal. If it's talking to you they will do that, but they will kill your entire family if it's more effective.

No? It's been like that for decades.
Crux Terminatus exists on terminator armor shoulders, it's there as a symbol of veterancy but also in-universe the people believe that it contains a shard of the Emperor's armor.

Terminator Honors, however are just a smaller badge shaped like a crux that is given to veteran marines to signify that they have earned the right to wear terminator armor, and you mainly see this if the veteran marine is just wearing regular power armor.

You can see this in pic related. It's that one captain model from 1991, and it also has a terminator honor badge.

It is fun to imagine a sort of Band of Brothers esque story of a Hunter Cadre told through the eyes of a Tau or Gue’vesa so you can have that grounded view without all the space wizards and demigods and nightmare metal monsters that you get with the Imperium, just ordinary soldiers fighting against those horrors and holding the line with a dinky little riffle and grit.

Yes, correct. The universe is about war and ultraviolence, there is nothing particularly satirical about Octarius War or War in Heaven or Fall of Cadia, to list some random ass narrative events. The gameplay is about war.

I mean yeah kinda, you only need as much to get things going. A good 40k show wouldn't need a lot of it, it can be pretty simple and doesn't need any elaborate plot points.
And it has to be simple because 40k has too much niche fluff, as a setting its wide as 3 oceans and deep as a bathtub. The average viewer wouldn't know or appreciate delving into importance of Rangdan Xenocides (an event about war btw with nothing particularly satirical about it).

These wouldn't be that bad if you applied some washes on it. I think that's the biggest issue since it has a lack of "depth" so to speak.
Also the gaps and mold lines are pretty horrendeus but nothing you can do to fix at this point.
Best thing to do is to learn from the mistakes so your future models turn out better.

Empress would never choose to give herself comically large breasts because it is beneath her. Her physical form is purely a matter of whim.
>>
>>96805892
How so? I say the tau are closer to irl communist because of their collectivist values and the brutal treatment of citizens. In one of the novels, I forget which, they mention how after a rebellion the gue'vesa rebels will be treated "like the tau" where they'll be separated from their family groups and assigned to labor colonies and groups. It also mentions how many sense of individualism or family heritage/pride will also be taken away. This implies that at least in the imperium you generally get to stick with your family and have some semblance of knowledge about your ancestors. Meanwhile for the tau, individualism is a taboo and you're separated from family by default. They allow individualism for humans unless they misbehave, presumably because they're used to it.
>>
>>96805935
I think she would give herself biggest breasts imaginable because she can.
Just like how the Emperor dressed in a giant suit of gold armor because he liked it.
He is kind of vain his own way.
>>
The "imperium" doesn't actually govern many of its planets. Most imperium planets are civilized worlds with their own government. The imperium just wants them to pay the tithe and not be too heretical. It can't micromanage millions of planets

He disliked that form or at least did not have a special attachment to it. That was stated explicitly. He used it because he wanted to inspire awe as the emperor. It was merely one of his aspects. Another way to manipulate people, nothing more.

If I had to guess I would think a more understated scholarly persona is his personal preference.
>>
>>96805967
The Imperium was able to detect that Taros (despite paying its expected tithe) had more mines than it should for the amount of ore it was producing and was able to conduct a prompt and sweeping investigation which showed that they had been slipping small amounts of ore to the Tau. The Imperium absolutely can micromanage.
>>
>>96805986
Obviously that kind of thing does happen, but it does not micromanage every planet. There are lots of planets with almost no contact. It depends on routes through the warp, whether it's strategic, is it close to something like a space marine chapter, things like that
>>

Or maybe that is what he wanted people to think.
>>
>>96806000
Taros was a tiny insignificant periphery mining world in the edge of Imperium space with a population of 12 million people, and the Imperium sent a Titan Legion and several space marine companies along with 20 Imperial Guard regiments to overthrow the governor for the crime of selling a small sliver of ore to the Tau.

I feel like the Empress would make herself beautiful to the point of being uncanny and almost painful to look at but with more reasonably sized breasts. She would also punish any of the female primarchs for being too overtly sexualized in their presentation
>>
>>96806058
So you contradict yourself. If the Imperium only cares about getting its tithe then how can a planet have not had contact with the administratum for hundreds of years?
>>
>>96806074
Because the imperium has limited resources and can't micromanage planets to that extent, which is what I said before. It depends on the sector and a bunch of other factors. If your planet is close to an Inquisition Conclave or a lex arbites center then yeah you're turbofucked if you ignore the tithe. If it's a world that can only be reached via unstable warp routes then you can probably get away with it. it all depends
>>
The right way to think of the geography of the Imperium is that it is closer to Comorragh than it is to a human country on Earth. It all depends on travel through the warp, which doesn't move through traditional space and routes through the warp vary. A planet could be close to Terra in realspace but "isolated" due to warp storms. A planet could be located halfway around the galaxy and be "close to the center of things" due to warp travel being predictable and easy.

But if you're doing Blood Axes, maybe yeah, paint them in a somewhat fucky camo. Base them off human (mayhe even real world) patterns. Orks might understand that the patterns are for stealth but not quite understand that they match the terrain and such.

HH actually barely has any differences between marines armies too. 40k actually has more variety because chaos space marines and the 4 god legions are all very different from bog standard imperium space marines even shit like grey knights and black templars have their own completely different army rules and forces. For the most part HH armies are all the same standard marine army that can all take the same formations and units but get 1 or 2 unique formations and the detachment shit that 40k also has like warlord traits and extra abilities. Theres no CSM stuff so traitor legions cant take demon engines or warped units unlike 40k CSM so traitor legions are also literally just base space marines and theres no other armies besides marines either outside of custodes, guard and admech.

HH also has insane balance problems so if someone tries to gaslight you into thinking its some amazing blast from the past from the golden age of 40k rules and says that its more like a historical than a sci fi setting Just know that its not.

Magrabal, Kahl of the Thaurukh Votann, is an enigmatic figure, even amongst his kin.

Seemingly possessed of a 'sixth-sense' with regards to detecting threats to his people, his steadfast determination in battle has won him the respect of his peers.

Like others of clan Thaurukh he bears the signs of obvious mutation, the votann core having prioritised vital systems over such cosmetics foibles, and he bears them with pride, as a sign of the Thaurukh's indomitable spirit to survive against the odds.

He wields the Orvut-Aetharn, the obsidian blade, a titanic sword even in its seemingly fragmented state.
When in combat the blade seems to 'weep' magma, and the obsidian edge carves cleanly through even the thickest of armour with contemptuous ease.

Magrabal's intent so far seems unknown, though it is clear from the Thaurukh's current campaign they have no love lost for the forces of chaos, much to Abaddon's Chagrin.
Rumours circulate that he has been seen in the company of Buri Aegirsson, though to what ends only the two kin folk know.

I'm using "harsh words" because I'm really getting sick of these retards shitting up the thread with dumbass arguments about which parts of marine/imperium/chaos wank are canon according to ten different sources that nobody bothers to keep consistent. Secondary lorefaggots are one of the main reasons this general is the worst one on this entire fucking board.
>>
>>96806820
Lore is the only thing that matters.
>>
Honestly the Imperium should just recreate The Rumbling and send 10,000 Titans to just wipe the Tau and Necrons off the map, the only reason they haven’t is cause they don’t have to take Xenos factions seriously.
>>
>>96806779
They're an expensive near horde army with lots of detail
>>
>>96806779
Dunno how much this is the case for others but the only reason I didn't pick SoB as my first army was because of those fugly faces. Their vehicles are some of the coolest shit 40k has to offer.

Opposite, many of the sister models are reviled because they look like 40 year old men in drag

Only WAACfags would care and even then there are better armies for that on the tabletop

There are marines with flamethrowers too and they pull it off better.
>>
>>96806851

>>
>>96806878
trying too hard
>>
>>96806885
The Mechanicus has them (it’s closer to 30,000 but this would leave 20,000 to defend other sectors)
>>
>>96806779
Up until relatively recently (2019) they were only available in metal and had bad rules if they had rules at all.
They were almost completely forgotten about the very end of 8th edition. They were not included in promotional material and were in one single game. For most people they are still a new faction that they are able to collect, 90% of people will not have seen their metal models.
Theres also how detailed they are and I think that does have an effect of them. Plus a lot of people dont know how to paint female faces
I also think part of it is many people just not wanting to play an all female faction for whatever reason

Don't disrespect the Necrons like that mate
>>
>>96806779
For me, they have a weird lack of visual variation. Regular SoB look great, but it's weird that we don't have, say, more helmet options, or different styles of power armour - especially given how old the faction is. They're obviously not the main focus of the designers - like space marines are - but I've always found it weird how we've never gotten much in the way of variations of the existing designs.
>>
>>96806878
Looking up how to paint faces videos I’ve come to agree with the sentiment that the models aren’t as ugly as the promo paint jobs make them out to be. GW’s face painting methods really only work with wrinkly and angry dudes.
>>
>>96806915
The Necrons aren’t even the best robots in the setting, the Mechanicus has them beat
>>
>>96806925
Space Marines were using the same armor for 10K years until Cawl made the Mk 10 suits. Would be neat to see new armor Mk’s for the Sisters, but it’s also not out of the ordinary for the Imperium to not have new suits for them after so long.
>>
>>96806938
Come on lol, I mean best in what regard? You don't think the Imperium can actually beat the Necrons do you?
>>
How do I start sisters?
>>
>>96806966
Start what?
>>
>>96806954
The Imperium beats the Necrons all the time. They took out a Necron world engine with only a single chapter of marines and just recently Guilliman blew up their Pariah Nexus.
>>
>>96806976
nulore, ignore
>>
>>96806947
>Space Marines were using the same armor for 10K years until Cawl made the Mk 10 suits.

I meant more in the sense of "there's Crusade armour and Iron armour and Maximus armour and -" than anything else; they have a bunch of different patters and styles, and SoB don't get much of anything in that regard. But you're right; it would be neat to see more variations and marks - it wouldn't need to be a whole thing, either, just a new set of helmets, some other power-packs. Some new breastplates - just something, anything.
>>
>>96806976
The Necrons base lore is that they can kill everyone but don't want to because they need living souls.
>>
>>96806986
The world engine is not nulore. Besides we know that the Necrons are afraid of the Imperium, they’ve shown great fear of it in the past
>>
>>96806991
That’s necron cope for getting their asses kicked all the time. “Oh yeah, we could’ve stopped you blowing up our irreplaceable superweapon, we just didn’t cause…w were being nice.”

The objectively best way to start anything is getting a box of factions basic infantry or a KT(if it has one). After you build and paint it you decide if you liked it enough to commit to an army.

The imperium absolutely could beat the necrons if they just focused on them, the necrons are only alive because the Imperium is too busy with other threats to bother dealing with them right now

Most necrons are stuck on their planets. And most of them are also still asleep.
It wouldn't take much effort for the Imperium start raiding their tomb worlds of everything useful and then just shattering the very planet afterwards when they've looted the place.

Yeah, those are supposed to be powerful.

I think he's got the math thinking that rolling 5 +1 = Dev Wounds, but Dev Wounds is only on natural 6. Even with the wound reroll with a full squad of 10 throwing out 3.5 attacks on average you're doing more like 10 dev wounds on average.
