Whatever awakened Kohaku could produce before then would be swept away like a needle in the ocean.She thinks the barrier was a bad idea, but that keeping it around is the lesser evil until humans can reclaim their progress with spiritual training. She's a strong believer that humans are more powerful and have more potential than they give themselves credit for, with the barrier being good proof of that as it was a human that made it. (Or so I gather from the Spirit Lost mission).But I digress. The issue is that she and Aida wouldn't be rivals since their viewpoints aren't exactly opposing. We also would have seen how they've grown from new genin by that point, and bigger jumps in power as they train before and during the exams would be even more satisfying.
