I am trying to capture that really dark blue on the right, but my strategy of "put black in blue" seems to not have panned out. If I try much more black than what's in picrel it just becomes grey.What are your recommendations? I could try glazing blue over black maybe, or just screw with different paint combinations until I hit something. If anyone has a recipe for a similar scheme I would appreciate it to save me a lot of trial and error.

>>97360495Use the darkest blue you have for the base coat, dry rush lighter blue on top of it, then wash with Vallejo black lotus contrast paint. It's heavily blue tinged black, so it'll give you the dark blue you want.

Arms reaching past knees, lacking belly (imagine him without armor, ribcage directly on top of pelvis missing half of spine), proportions, especially head to body ratio, of 5 year old, not adult male, female hips with thigh gap of porn star not any male I have ever seen, shitty squatting pose, gun bigger than his torso, etc, etc, etc, worst primaris model is ZILLION times better than this 80s style sculpt garbagetrash.

I painted some Conquest Varangians, was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the kit. Need to add highlights and base the models.
Felt inspired to take a stab at a diorama, so, I'm going to try making the retreat to Khazad-dum. Got the goblins ordered, and once they arrive I'll take a break from the Fellowship, but for now... Gimli and Legolas are still WIP, but Merry and Pippin are as done as they're going to be until the diorama is farther along and I make any OSL decisions>>97360495You should just go into the tutorial mega image dump in the OP, and look at the how to paint black guides. They aren't quite what you're after, but if you just use blues instead of greys, I think it'll be perfect
