Just bought my brother Brutakka for his 21st. He’s got Axxon and it’s the only 2006 set he’s missing (aside from Umbra & promos)
>>11673200Your pic kinds reminds me of indigo anon. The amount of mocs posted in these threads is suprisingly low and I wish more anon would post their mocs too. Here's a vortixx moc I made too.
>>11673065Toa were pretty much designed to be the super soldier version of Glatorian, so on any obvious combat-related metric they're going to be better by default. Of course there might be more subtle advantages to having an augmented biological body and a natural mind as opposed to both being fully artificial, this has surely been discussed to death by some transhumanists somewhere.
>>11673446I need to actually build some MOCs. Haven't bothered in quite some time.
How many unused action figure hands do you guys have? Do you change them often?
>>11673390>Mythic Legions Genpretty sure it was just the Mythic Fantasy or whatever it called itself. Like i said, it merged with the Fantasy General because some fanboy wanted to keep it on the forefront despite most of the fanbase quitting after 4H shit on everyone.>not PVC that's being priced as if it wasn't plastic.... man, there's a whole world you don't seem to be aware of. There's a shit ton of PVC figurines out there that are way beyond McFarlane's prices at the same level of quality and that's actually part of what made McFarlane so popular in the 90s, since even back then, there were PVC statueshit that was super fucking expensive with paint jobs that were pretty shoddy.McFarlane made collectible shit affordable and their stuff today is still pretty affordable, or at least costs less than what other companies sell theirs for (thanks obama).I get it if you don't like McFarlane's 7" figures, because i generally won't buy anything in that scale either. I also get it if you don't like the mold reuse, but they're not any better or worse than other companies who do the same thing like Mattel, Hasbro, Jazwares, etc.But like i said, what you see is what you get from McFarlane, because almost everything that McFarlane ever shows off are production figures. You almsot never see handpainted prototypes or 3d renders that Hasbro and other companies show off to get people excited about their products.Pic is my Medieval Spawn from the other year. when McFarlane was showing off their Kickstarter, almost everything was already finished and it's a glorious return to the level of paint we were getting in the 00s. Probably the best figure I've bought in a decade. ... which reminds me, i need to buy his Lilith.
>>11673458>Medieval Spawn>Best figure of the decadeLmao your bias is showing.
>>11673521as someone who owns a shitload of figures from dozens of toylines that get praised on /toy/, my well informed opinion >>> your poorfag opinion
>>11673554I legit can't tell if you are actually being serious with this statement or not.
>>11673458>there's a whole world you don't seem to be aware ofI agree. And I own my ignorance but it's more than just a lack of knowledge. I'm not going to collect every possible thing that might potentially interest me or appeal to me. I want swords and space blasters for the toys I ALREADY OWN. I'm actually going to start selling off some of my statues and other collectibles and just focus purely on articulating figures. I'm not interested in going down rabbit holes and investing into entirely new lines and franchises and the like. This is a good way for me to be prudent since I'd still rather buy expensive red wine and Japanese whiskey instead of a $200 import bit of plastic crack. Dinner out in a metro area isn't cheap, either.I appreciate you're being interesting and challenging. And politely engaging in conversation. But you aren't going to lure me to the dark side. It's great when people don't just have four walls of crowded shelves all with fifty billion batman or fifty billion spidermen or fifty billion son gokus or waifu/coomer figurines, but actually have a variety. But that's also not going to be me - either of those visions.I knew when I got older that my behavior as a kid, where I used to save old magazines and collect shitty Duck and other cheap comic books, with boxes and stacks of paper in my childhood bedroom, that I had addictive behaviors. I've gone through spending small mints hording import records while in school, graphic novels and omnibus editions as an teen and also in school to adulthood, steel books and complete season DVDs and BluRay as an older adult, etc. and once I sold all that stuff off, I've never looked back (well, I have an excellent set of digital pirated comics, movies and music but my out of pocket costs is limited to a few external drives). Plastic crack is just my current crack. And I have a system that works well for me. And I don't really need to go outside it.
Previous thread: >>11642894All brands and scales welcome. Share acquisitions, discoveries, and projects.
>>11671415>>11669431I think their newer licensed cars look a bit better, but still looks pretty cheap compared to the og, i think its mostly the paint, dosent hide the plastic look of them
i got f50first of all, i have no idea why it's in dark red color, on artwork it's in ferrari red, but model is in way darker red, big mistakesecond, it doesn't have second lock on the back, because it has giant window for engine baythe whole body rattles and you can move itotherwise it looks good
>>11671427I like the plastic look, personally.
Jesus christ
>>11673259Aw, what an adorable little abomination.
Its become clear to me there is a sect of terminally online autists whos lives have been taken over by the compulsive urge to constantly express their opinions regarding action figures despite not owning any. I have coined the term “fanboy” for this anon, as they bear multiple similarities to a sports fan. They love certain figures, hate others and empathetically assert themselves as a relevant opinion on subjects they have no personal experience in. I see them as an existential threat to the community and the entire toy industry as a whole. The fanboy, when made desperate will outright lie about owning toys they have never touched. They therefore are detrimental to us all as they spread false information throughout the entire web of the toy world. Moving forward, no opinion or statement on this board should be taken seriously without a photographic proof of the fact that they own the toy they are presenting an opinion on. This is the simple way we know your opinion is valid and you have “skin in the game” so to speak. Thank you for your time.
>>11672487>I don't seek you out.>I don't care about you.>still bitch posts after bitch postare you actually a chick?BTW, the entire reason i talked about WH40k in this thread is because the Warhammer 40k General is the biggest example of no-toys and non-fans that OP is talking about in his beginning post.People like them just derail threads. They're adding nothing to the actual topic, just like you.All you've done for the past... how many posts have you made in this thread?... isn't about OP's topic. Youv'e admitted it's about you bitching about me. >toddler behavior dudeThere's that projecting. you've cried so much in this thread, because i have the audacity to be in the same thread you are. I'd question how spoiled you were as a child that you act this way as an adult, but man, considering how tiny your collection is, i don't think your parents could afford to spoil you. So what's your mental problem? Is it your period?Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>11672487>I don't seek you outYou literally do seek him out. You keep starting shit.
>>11672644>acts even more like a chick after being askedooof, maybe you're trans, given that you implied your autistic in the other thread. And i really don't care how you treat me, it's just the fact that the rest of /toy/ suffers from assholes like you shitting up countless threads over simple things like: Joytoy makes shit toys because they're brittle and have constant QC issues. And OP is absolutely correct that the best way to gatekeep you assholes is by making you take photographs of your toys, which you guys have constantly proven you don't own any. You guys just roam various threads, looking to start problems.Again, the WH40k General threads are the biggest example of non-fans and no-toys.It's not surprising most of you shits left the WH40k General once it started to die and shit the rest of the board up.pic is one of many reasons why the WH40k General is now a ghost town.
>>11672727Reminder that you unironically claimed there is nothing wrong with eating unidentifiable slop as part of one of your retarded food analogies when someone asked if a joint tightening liquid was reliable.>And OP is absolutely correct that the best way to gatekeep you assholes is by making you take photographs of your toys, which you guys have constantly proven you don't own any."Look, Tomoyo! Start recording, it's a faggot!"Now post models you repulsive gook.
maybe they just need a happy meal
How do you buy rare toys off of social media and not get scammed?
>>11670521There are some pieces of merchandise that are so rare they are not found via traditional avenues, e.g. ebay. You have to go and ask around on social media or forums for the item you want to buy and wait until someone shows up who is willing to take up your offer. Right now I'm looking for a dvd and book that is unlikely to show up on ebay anytime soon so I have to interact with people in the fandom I am a member of to buy what I want.
>>11670174>wait a week????>get figure for free
Use PayPal. It’s weird how it’s the only way to send payments and have purchase protection. Cashapp and Zelle need to have it.
how are you getting scammed in person?Do you live in a shithole and weigh 90lbs?
>>11670545Why not just go through life never having it? I've missed many toys because I truly dont want them at all
Remember that billy and mandy episode where billy was infatuated with a power rangers/dinosaucers combination parody and everyone called him a geeky faggot child for liking toys still? That episode hit really close to home hence why it was so fucking funny to mehttps://youtu.be/4sMS6ECEPhg
>>11672662I'm surprised that this episode isn't a subject of inspiration for customs or making your own
>>11673380Just realized I've always wanted the Action Mobile. an RC Bigfoot that could hold multiple figures.
>>11673425Tank Attack Daredevil would be a perfect base for it
>>11673426Same here. Im baffled that functional cockpits arent standard across all RC vehicles at this point. JADA could really stand to profit off that.
>>11673423Nice! I watched the episode too and the plot is very cute. I remember being hypnotised by it as a kid, maybe even scared at times. Watching it now I can see why, there is a very surreal aspect to it all because of the scale.
I wanna go back, back to the past
>>11670173if it kept the company alive so be it
>>11669515On the positive side, now you have money to buy good enough reproductions of the original UCS
Yeah I’ve been watching a lot of old media lately, and it’s great, I stopped watching tv and movies years ago for the most part and I feel like what happened is slowly everything got lame and shitty.started watching a bunch of old Christmas movies recently and loved that then moved on to old Cartoon Network shows. There is still some decent stuff that comes out today but it feels like the exception to the rule.OPs image is a good example that even minute things like advertisements were made in an exciting and cool way that grabbed your attention and sparked imagination and had effort behind it. Today that would just be some minimalist all black or all white image, and everything would be arranged in the most boring bland way possible. A lot of old advertisements honestly are cool enough they could feasibly be a poster. That just doesn’t happen today
>>11670173The JUNIOR era cancer was in the pipeline for 1997, anon. The last year of classic Lego was 1996.
>>11672941That's a rad vehicle.
This will probably die like the last one but...>JOYTOY announced the Fatal Fury Team from KOF '98
Storm Arena Sagat is being sent out
>>11670523Yes but is his hand going to break off the second you touch it or will those shoes or that head keep falling off every second time you change poses?
>>11672975I have five Fondjoy figures (4 different Batflecks and Cavill) and all of them have really good articulation and zero issues, so I have no idea what you are talking about.Plus, Orochi is an early prototype

>>11671623Oh yeah joints are definitely going to fix the inherent issue of shitty plastic skirts you smelly brown ape. Not like we haven't seen the same problems across line after line. Surely this time will be different!
Brotoys has pics of their 1/12 third party DMC5 Dante and Nero
Can we get DMC toys that aren't fucking dolls?
>>11672161the coat on the 1000toys dante was prone to flaking yes. This one has pleather pants too, which will be an extra pain in the ass

I can see the sticker texture on those badges.that's the "free" (LMAO) gift-with-purchase, so it gets maximum levels of non-care.I'm grateful it's a lame set. I got the Sad-MO for missing out on the shuttle for the Enterprise, and the little radio station for the Stranger Things was very cool looking, too. but this thing is an easy pass.anybody with a printer can just print the stickers and make the whole thing themselves (if they wanted)

Hi guys just checking because it is hard to keep track of 3rd party releases these days. I saw a prototype of (not) Blaid from Elden Ring, i.e., a medieval knight with wolf head. Which company was it? Has it been solicited?
>>11673211I believe your refering to this guy. There is a preorder for him on Bombusbee Ive seenhttps://www.bombusbee.net/product/vts-toys-1-12-gravity-garden-ashen-wolf-king/
Anyone backing this? The guy making it died just after Christmas, it was his dream to finally get the Mighty Orbots figure out there since the original was cancelled. It's already at nearly $86 thousand of $95 thousand needed. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/themightyorbots/mighty-orbots-deluxe-combining-12-figure-1985-edition
https://youtu.be/B5xoFU5verUGod, could you imagine if transformers put this much effort into their combiner sequence?
demon slayerjust started watching the show and it's pretty coolwhat's the verdict on figures though? figma, buzzmod, or SHF?
>>11672460>are the buzzmod cloth goods decent quality?Yes>looking at the faces, their tanjiro looks like a chubby boy but the cloak might be worth itThe cloth cloak is good but like this anon said >>11672756 Buzzmod tends to struggle with the likenesses at times. Personally, I'd go for the SHF overall while supplementing missing characters with Buzzmod releases like Tengen and Daki (still salty they skimped on Gyuutaro tho).
A major problem with Buzzmod now is if you're getting into the line this late and want to get everyone, you're beholden to aftermarket prices on a lot of figures. And that's on top of them already costing more than all the other options.
>>11672350I really don't see the appeal of these characters. I'd say it must be a zoomer thing that my boomer ass just doesn't get but I don't understand the appeal of One Piece designs either.
Kind of interested in getting a Shinobu. Which is better, the Figma or SHF?
So, what do we think of Smart Play? Why are adult men so angry about a kids toy?
>>11673022Their parents aren't going to let them waste 80 bucks on that. They're going to stick them in front of a tablet which will provide more value to the parent as it will entertain the kid for far longer.
So what's the fucking point of the whole unbumpable old threads thing when it clearly doesn't stop spam and flooding?
I was actually completely on board with this until I actually heard the sounds that come out of this thing. I understand they are trying to future proof the brick so it uses a synthesizer instead of sound bites. But... outside of playing midi jingles it doesn't seem very good for replicating familiar sounds.
>>11673213The point is to make the board worse for the people that actually use it for real toy discussion
>>11673266Do the people on top of 4chan not realize that this sort of shit is why this site has less users every year?
which LOTR movie had the best toyline?
I bought the Sauron figure recently and I accidentally twisted the mace holding hand off and had to glue it back on. It still looks nice, it’s the Toybiz one, but maybe I’ll get the diamond select build a figure one which I’ve heard is a better figure
>>11660672The Rankin Bass Hobbit film also got a couple figs more recently. Nothing for their Return of the King animated film tho.
>>11668681$50 each for a 5.8 inch statue. Yeah, no.

I've had this guy for a long time. The bubble looks like it's been chain smoking. Should I crack him open?
