I still can't bring myself to PO it. I don't really need the booster since I have AMTS Endymion. The container I can't tell whether it's Sky Carrier's brown/green or Aggress' brown or another new shade. Only interesting part is the orbital vehicle 2 but it doesn't seem like the usual navy blue.

This DESU. I really like the NASA-punk white and orange, and it's always great to get more space stuff. But that truck feels like a missmatched mess all by itself. And really, I would prefer if they either kept all the cargo boxes to be the same color, or they make these alt colors more common. Just having one that's a randomly different color bothers muh autism. Definitely going to pass on the preorder. I might grab one later, but for the money, I think I would prefer to just get an extra Endemion to use for modular parts

I've been collecting them for years but have had to downsize recently.
>are they good?
Very, but the new artesian line has issues with the realistic hair.
>are they even toys?
Kind of, a lot of the ones with full-body costumes have limited flexibility and are hard to pose and leaving them in a pose could stretch out the material used.
>are they slop?
They're the furthest away from slop in terms of quality but they're big name brands like Marvel so if that's slop then yes.
>what's the general consensus of hot toys because every time i come across a hot toys collector, they just don't seem all that intelligent
They cost hundreds of dollars so I doubt people who buy them in large quantities like myself are very smart. I've been cutting down as back then I was buying very impulsively and some things I really don't need a 1/6 scale figure of. The good thing is they retain their value and sell sometimes higher than what I paid for depending on the character.
>>
I've always wondered who buys these multi thousand dollar statues of movie characters. Then I saw this and I think I know now.
>>
I got into Hot Toys around 2015 or so when an anon here bought a HT Iron Man accidentally when he was getting his friend a gift and got into them for a bit. He helped disspell a lot of preconceived ideas about them like a lack of articulation, and while they aren't Revoltech level he was ale to show off Iron Man posing well. He was also finding some decent prices under $200 on some figures as well.
There was actually some great deals on Mandarake at the time and you could get a bunch of figures for $150 shipped. Like Silver Centurion Iron Man.
That said, both the price and the quality has increased to the point where it's frustrating and too expensive for me to be into them. There's also so many versions of characters you end up double dipping or constantly upgrading It just stopped being fun, and my OCD would flare up when an even more expensive company like InArt would offer a better, pricier version and then the cheaper, lesser version feels pointless. stylized toys will always have their own niche, but with a replica style toy the point will partly be the be the most realistic look. So anything that's not top of the line is at risk of dating quickly.
I do think the comic based figures they've been doing are cool, but also way too pricy for what I'd be willing to spend.
>>
>>11674563
Yeah, they’re great for Iron Man and they’ve made some absolute beauties. I don’t really love anything else they’ve made that has excess soft goods, but they do good Iron Men.

Right now theres a cartoonishly crazy control freak, obsessed schizophrenic loser of a woman repeatedly making giga autistic demands at me to remove 3 words from my ebay listings title. Who tf does she think she is? WTF...??? Why even need or pretend to need words on my single listing altered? Block me or don't buy it if it is triggering your flipped brain?

I want to piss her off as much as possible without getting penalized. What should i do?

Ideas so far:

>>say yes when its still there and if she keeps on, keep saying yes i did remove it

>>say no, with some boomer agitating photo or emojis... wish i could send the plush doing the middle finger but I'd get suspended probably

>>keep ignoring while listing more shit

>>say youre not the boss of me now

>>say stop telling me what to do mom/grandma!!!

I operate 2 eBay stores that rack in an annual 32k each year. I am easygoing, but I block resellers. I just don’t like them and it especially kills me when I see them relist something I sold them when it hadn’t even arrived yet and they used images I took. A few years ago I cancelled orders for one and it turns out they were in a Facebook group dedicated to scalping/reselling hot items. Guy made a post and got people to buy stuff from me and reviewbombed me, causing my account to be deleted. Only took 1 phone call and sending eBay representatives screenshots from the Facebook group and they were all banned and my account reinstated. Found a cease and desist template online and mailed it to each one of the addresses (don’t actually have a lawyer but did it anyways). Got a physical apology from one of them.
>>
>>11675501
Record video of you packing and sealing the parcel as well as handing it to the post office. Use recorded/tracked post with the weight noted on the receipt. Always state ‘sold as seen’ and your preowned but still sealed items should still be labelled ‘used’ to avoid scammers saying it’s been taken out of the packaging to try to get a refund etc.
>>
>>11674041
I always put on the listing and disclose during correspondence when an item will ship. I work 12-13hr shifts 4-5 days a week. If they order on a Sunday it won't ship until the following Friday or Saturday. But every fuckin week Ill either get complaints or get messaged by retards asking for tracking numbers. Some of them seem to think I generate the tracking numbers personally.

>>11675501
The reality is you cannot be immune to this shit but >>11675815 is a good start. Ive found the most reliable buying selling environment is actually local fan groups or niche communities. If you can cash in hand with locals or get a decent reputation in a group as a seller you're far less likely to have issues.
>>
>>11673172
I'm in some Facebook groups and it's hilarious yet nerve-wracking how some idiots cannot wait 3 fucking days before posting in desperation cause they fear their toy might've been stolen/lost. Like, calm your tits dude the figure was just sent from the other side of the damn world and you already expect it to be at your doorstep after less than 5 days.
>>
>>11675501
I would try B/S/T here and even though people bitch, reddit. I would also post on FB. Both will let you sell individually without having to fucking make one single sales page post per toy. You'll take less photos that way but you should still photograph everything a few times because serious people will ask.

50-70 is a lot and it will take time to dump especially if you want to receive some value. If you just want to unload and do it quickly make a few sensible lots, so you can dump the peg warmers in your collection in with desirable stuff, price them to sell plus 20% per lot, and post on eBay.

Use Pirateship. Refuse to ship outside the USA.

>>11676412
Someone passed me a $100 counterfeit bill. Was it intentional, who knows. And asking for $20 as I started doing after that, doesn't help since it gets counterfeited as much. And yes, it looked that good.
>>
>>11678277
You’re a fucking dumbass lmfao
>>
>>11678277
Avoiding counterfeit cash is super easy. Just look at shit in the sun, because 99.9999% dont bother to use the right paper, muchless have paper that gets watermarked.

And those counterfeit markers are really cheap. They're so cheap you can probably get one for free if you ask a friendly owner/manager, if not a used one for a buck.

Also, a black light will make the metallic strips shine in day-glo colors. I think everyone who owns a toy should own a blacklight flashlight, because who doesn't own glow in the dark toys? Shit makes your figures instantly bright.

Why don't you just buy domestic? >_>
>>
I offen wonder what kinda crap Asian people import from America.
>>
>>11677439
Another note on the "free shipping": they have a .jp site and a .com/international one. The latter pretty much has baked in higher prices compared to the domestic site to make up for the free shipping they offer so regularly.
Anybody who's worked with forwarders and proxies should do the math and see if it's better to go through those. This may end up being cheaper, but doesn't have to be.
If the forwarder undervalues, that'd save you some of those taxes and duties, too, but obviously not everything.
>>
>>11677907
Find me a shop that sells Japanese only Gashapon items individually and I will.

>>11677948
Last year when I used their site, the free shipping was absolutely worth it. I was buying items worth $1-3 a pop and my total order could be as low as $20-30 bucks, so even if their price per item was "higher" I didn't mind. Throw in the fact that this site is the *only* site I found that had a deep and frequently updating stock of the items I was looking for, and was selling them at non-absurd prices (for the most part, ebay prices for these things was three times higher) and it was very much worth buying from them.

I'm glad I got everything I wanted back before the changes, because it wouldn't be worth making those small orders now.

....err, but yea, Playmobil. I managed to decorate that Castle I bought! Re-ment's stuff works really well with Playmobil's scale and has much nicer details then Playmobil's accessories. The Castle itself is still missing some key pieces that kind of bug me, but it's complete enough for me to play with and I'm not sure if it's worth investing more money into just to get those last two or three items I really want.

Maybe I'll try and grab some pics when the kid goes to bed, can't get anywhere near it while she's awake because as soon as i start to play with it she wants to play with it too lol.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. The Black Seas Barracuda on fire off the shoulder of the Eldorado fortress. I watched Futuron Defender ships glitter in the dark near the Blacktron message intercept base. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Why do toy companies have this fascination with making toys that have lights and sounds and then pretending it’s some kind of revolutionary technology? Hasbro did it with CommTech and Force Link for Star Wars, and LEGO did it with the whole “Smart Play” thing. Why?

Yeah, their job was to act and go on promo tours, and they did that job. Now they’re free to say they don’t like the final product and just did it for the money. They don’t need to swear undying fealty to Disney just because they acted in a movie once.
>>
>>11667533
Force Link was such a piece of shit. It was clunky, it barely worked, and on top of that there was no way to update it. They had to release a second version that had samples for the new figures and it would have just kept going like that because fuck you, you're a kid and you don't get to demand futreproofability, now buy the slop.

Somehow Hasbro managed to do this same basic concept 20 years earlier and did it much better with the Commtech chips that came with Episode I figures. Yes the chips were not in the figures themselves but the functionality was much better and you only needed the one scanner and you were set. You could even save up to four onto the scanner's memory, and it had some fun Star Wars sounds like lasers, lightsabers and explosions built in.
