Lego just announced a new Zelda set based on Ocarina of Time for 2026

You can see a new Princess Zelda in the background

Set will be 1003 pieces, no price yet and will feature Ganon

I don't know how long it takes Lego from
"let's do [thing!]" to "done!"

May seems like it's far away, but they have to pick figures, design prints, design/mold/produce new pieces, take pictures for the packaging, run factory for a while to produce enough quantity...

soooo... does anybody have any clues as to what we'll get outta this yet? or is this too early? (too early for "official leaks" anyway)

Gonna keep them in a bin, gather a bunch for possible future project with more spare parts. Never let anything go to waste.

Good project, only took me 8 hours give or take, had to eat a bit. The Oatey ABS liquid cement I used thankfully don't fully take effect until later, so if I screwed up I could pop it off. Every moveable part for it I did not use the cement for so I can still come off.

You should be fine. You can heat up the vinegar a little in the microwave before using on the part to speed up the reaction. I don't think it's been specified yet. they don't want to stop selling sets now (if they say it will be X% off, nobody buys the set today, they just wait...)

if I had to guess, I'd say the dumb Zelda Tree will be the big "WOW!" set on sale, down to like... $200? (hopefully less?) to clear shelf space for the upcoming new Zelda set.

>>11622683
>sets that aren't selling and no one wants
this, too
we can gauge the amount of wanting by the discount.
10% off = sales were lower than expected
50% off = nobody bought this at all, please take it off our shelves

it's also probable that there's no sales at all, instead... an exclusive, desirable GWP available only for $800+ sales (they already have the Enterprise-D Shuttle, you're half-way there!)

>>11622851
It’s a literal fact that only a homosexual would buy “a tree” from a video game. I’m not saying a tree made from Lego couldn’t be beautiful or purchase worthy. I’m saying that a tree from a VIDEO GAME about Gannon and link and Zelda and the triforce is straight up gay and retarded. This is like selling “the cloud from super Mario”. Like super Mario isnt even known for that. WTF
>>
>>11622851
BTW, there has never been a child in history that wanted “the tree from Zelda”. Not even the most autistic child in the world would want something that boring.

>>11622878
>>11622881
you're obviously too young to remember the "wow" moment the OOT Tree got, in the era it appeared. adult fans remember that moment.

the fact that the tree appeared recently, in the newest Zelda game, AND Lego was able to make a set that kinda mushed 'em both into the same thing?

I'm not saying I wouldn't have wanted something else. I would have preferred something more dungeon-y with Bokoblins and Armor Knights (and Ganon WTF!) but I can understand why Lego picked that dumb tree. (that seriously should have been $100 tops tho)

by picking such a set and excluding the main villain, it was a subtle message that... a'aight, we DO plan on making more...

30%-ish off on the Twilight house

maybe 10-15% off the gumball machine to get the fishes to bite on the astronaut colors

I already guessed 50% off the Zelda Tree as the big "WOW!" sale: let's line up in the morning to get THAT!

but they already have no-sale Enterprise-D release with exclusive GWP so that's what the morning line-up is going to be for. no need really to have another set on WOW sale to get the morning line

just guesses though.

That one looks decent on the box but in person those stickers are just godawful, and there's some very big ugly gaps between the wings where they bend with the newest version.

I admit I'm somewhat nostalgic for the old version, but you have to admit that it does have some stuff over the newer ones, like the superior landing gear and all of its printed parts.

And honestly I'm indifferent towards the yellow minifig, I just really prefer the look of the old build.

The question was more of whether or not it's worth paying that much more for this "brand-new" experience or not.
>>
/pbbg/ is down so fuck it, asking here.
I want to get some bootleg train tracks and I already have an Aliexpress account. I'm eyeing the sign up bonus for Temu where you get 3 items for free, but apparently I have to make some minimum order amount (which they won't specify before I sign up) and according to some websites I may or may not have to invite friends to get it depending on the items (which again, they won't tell you before you sign up). Is this whole thing worth it, or should I just bite the bullet and buy them full price off Aliexpress?

Well, this set kinda stands as a Super Mario Galaxy Movie set now. I think I'd like some planet sets done like this for the movie if they had minifigs too.
>>
>>11622515
Lego skips DC & Marvel movies sometimes, too.

we've speculated before, that the instant Lego makes a Mario minifig, the bling-bling noise electric blocky sets implode, and sales drop to zero on them.

it wouldn't make a difference if it was for a movie or not, the other sets would be trash and never ever sell again

so Lego doesn't want to lose that money?
>>
>>11622515
They'll never make a proper minifig anyways.

But the course building system is retiring, all sets are set to retire next July, even Mariokart sets. Speculation and rumours are right now that we get a theme reset next august with minifigs but they will use smart bricks and electronic minifigs instead. A continuation of the course building system idea but minifig scale. I kinda speculate new molds for head or hats and so on will be made to be used for normal minifigs too but those will be locked in expensive 18+ sets, we know smart minifgs have the body all locked in and only head and hairpieces can be removed, and hands.

Add a tiny bit of dish soap and warm water in a big bowl

Rub the pieces, but avoid putting sticker pieces in there

Drain water making sure none of the pieces to down the drain

Rinse in bowl and drain until soap is gone

Leave pieces studs up (if possible) on paper towels or cotton towel and let them air dry

I wouldn't use vinegar since it's an acid and the dish soap should be more than enough to clean pieces. Maybe if somebody was shoving pieces up their ass you'd need vinegar.

I dry them studs down (or sideways), the water on the inside of the bricks/plates has no exposure to air and doesn't dry well otherwise. The tubes are especially bad for holding water, so I usually shake the water out of those first.

When I’m gathering up bricks in the field I really don’t take the time to verify the brand. I just take them all. Once I’m home I will separate them and clean them up. The fakes I just put aside to give away to local kids and the Lego brand I keep for myself.
>>11624298
Those were found on the ground at a local open air market place where people go sell buy and sell used items. It’s mostly gypsies selling things they have dug out of the trash or stolen.
Not sure why your used Lego would feel sticky. Maybe you are using a soap the doesn’t rinse off well. Maybe it’s just left over sticker residue. I have found that cleaning with a fine grit automotive polish takes off the more stubborn residues.
>>
>>
>>11624620
Ok nice, thanks for answering
>>
>>11624298
Is all of that from just one buy or is it from multiple sources? If it's just grease or something from one specific haul, maybe try washing it again with more powerful chemicals. I've found a bit of oxygen bleach is safe for the normal hard ABS parts (do not use for soft ABS, chrome, baseplates, silvered prints, anything else different from just the basic plastic) and it can even reverse yellowing. You should try wiping each individual brick (the worst ones at least) with a paper towel and spray cleaner if you haven't already. You should wash the worst ones separately from the cleaner ones as well so the grime doesn't just transfer onto the clean bricks.
Or maybe you just didn't do enough wash cycles.
>>
How do I fix bent baseplates? I tried putting them between heavy books with a weight on top, should I heat them up with a hairdryer first?

I don't know the complicated economics of these things:

eventually, nobody will care about the new parts, EXCEPT those people who jumped on the train when it started. those people however, NEED to keep going. they already bought so much, they can't stop! (with very small exceptions in either direction)

look at the MCU. right now, you gotta watch 50 movies to know what's going on, and thus, the new movies are tanking in the theatres., yet I've watched all those 50 movies and I think the new ones are okay (for the most part lol)

I guess the danger is stretching it out too long. did anybody do a list of how many HP Hogwarts sets they need/have already?

Great question — cool idea for your nephew! (Tanks + planes + building blocks = fun.) Since LEGO itself doesn’t do realistic military tanks often (due to their policy), a lot of good options are with LEGO-compatible brands that make military models. Here are some good, relatively cheap places and sets to look — and what to watch for.

>COBI
One of the most established brands for military building block sets. Their bricks are LEGO-compatible.
For example: COBI 1:72 Abrams M1A2 is only £14.99 from The Tank Museum shop.
A bigger 1:35 scale Abrams (975 pcs) is around £59.99.
A more modern variant: COBI M1A2 SEPv3 (1:35, ~1,017 pcs) for ~€79.99

>Cada Bricks
Very good quality, lots of detailed military sets, and more affordable than many big-brand kits.

>Turbo MOC
Has a “Military” category with tanks, warships, and more. Their kits tend to be well designed and compatible with LEGO.

>Kiddotoystore
They have “Main Battle Tank MOC” sets that are cheap-ish and compatible with LEGO bricks.

there's a few conspiracy theory things about the blurry "leaks" (assumed to be "official")

- a long long time ago, there was an actual, real, leak with a blurry image. that set the standard for what people expected from "leaks" (including the watermark ITS A LEAK text)

- knock-off competition (bootleg) can't zoom-in on the blurry images, copy the torso art and/or new piece mold perfectly and rush copies to market ahead of Lego's release

the new-hotness leak is the corporate desk photo

But it sucks slightly less than Soi Wars, so I guess if Lego were to stop making Soi Wars sets for some reason I would accept Gaylo as the price of saving Lego.

There is some kind of coordinated F1 shilling campaign going on that nobody is falling for. Every woman on hinge has watching F1 in their bios now even though no woman has ever actually watched an F1 race. I suspect the Rothschilds are involved.

Drive to Survive on Netflix and having 2(?) races in the US got a lot of americans into F1 I think. Though having seen what the competition is (nascar and indy car) I'm not really surprised F1 got big after americans realised it existed.

I'm kind of mad that people seemed to quickly move past this instead of pressing TLG for an explanation of how the fuck this made it to production. This is the kind of build quality you would expect from a 90's era set, and every other set in that wave has the modern standards of set stability and strength. The V-19 is so sturdy it could probably be used as a bludgeon so how the fuck did this thing get released with its entire top section held on by 4 studs?
