Critique it a bit, why dontcha?I happen to be something of a resident expert on anthro equines, so I took the liberty to sketch out how I'd do the face. Pic related. I prefer an animalistic approach to anthro heads, so I started with what I know best, but I did give a more humanized cranium a shot as well. I have very little experience with those, not to mention having been on one of my months-long drawing hiatuses prior to this, so it ended up a bit deeper in the uncanny valley than I'd like, not to mention being angled a bit incorrectly. Traditional is definitely not the best choice for iterative experimentation, but I'm still stuck without a convenient place to set up all my digital shit, so that's the best I can do for the moment.I usually caution people against fancy angles for equine heads. The reasons should be fairly obvious; bloody things tend to only look good from a handful of perspectives, and the long muzzle makes foreshortening a bit of a nightmare. Still, I can respect the chutzpah of trying to tackle one, even if the end result predictably leaves much to be desired. You'll definitely want to learn some head construction techniques and have some references on hand for future efforts, since the mouth and nose are more caprine than equine, which would work better for a unicorn (given their chimeric nature, you've got more room for creative interpretation) rather than a horse. Maybe you were going for that, considering the cloven hooves, and just forgot the horn. Speaking of hooves, the feet are a bit short. It's a matter of taste, but I find anthro equines look best with long feet. Personally, I make them as long as the other two segments of the leg (thigh and shin, respectively) but since I usually get comments on it, it might be too leggy of a design decision for most. Still, experiment with it and see where your limit lies.
And finally, got around to starting on the Stronghold fanart idea I mentioned before Christmas. The Lady, thanks to the Definitive Edition's remastered sprites making it more clearly visible, appears to have an outfit and hairstyle modelled on depictions of one Philippa of Hainault, a medieval queen of England, which made finding additional reference material much easier.Apparently, the beer helmet-esque hairnets are called crespines and are just one of the many elaborate kinds of female headgear you'd see in the later middle ages. Had some doubts about how well they'd adapt to an equine head, but so far, looks pretty good.Will probably leave the traditional sketch like this. This'll require some iteration and I'd prefer to do that digitally. Damn this lack of desk space. I've got a spare folding table that'd solve the issue, but it's pretty large and I'd make my room nearly untraversable if I were to set it up. Guess I'll just have to make a similar sketch of The Lord next.
I think I'll draw another Kobold tomorrow.

I was mainly using a human head as a base and slapping an equine snout and features on it. It didn't turn out much better, but still. You picked up the Caprine mistakes, which you're correct on because the one Anthro species I draw the most are Anthro Sheep. I guess I was going off of what was comfortable.
