She clearly thought he was the "safe guy" type but he turned out to be a total sperg.
>>217438865The La Boeuf phenomenon: actors with no talent or charisma who get cast in tons of movies anyway
>>217438865Artist in New York is never going to be a "safe guy" unless his parents are rich, which to be fair is the case for most aspiring artists in New York because no one else can afford to live there and try and be an artist aside from rich kids.
>>217439235He definitely had charisma. Probably just didn't appeal to you.
Lets discuss Hamnet.I loved it.
>shakespeare had his ears piercedzesty bard
>Purposely trying to find out what Shakespeare was inspired by so you can thrust your ugly chink girlboss DEI ass into the same lane, "LET'S SEE A POWERFUL WOMAN DOES IT! STEP ASIDE SHAKESPEARE YOU RACIST NAZI CHUD!!!">make absolute hollow weepy dogshit for retards like OP
>>217438583>directed by Chloe ZhaoDoes she have another self-insert?
I don't like having my elbow jogged, this movie was manipulative bullshit. Just like Song Sung Blue, which I yelled at my mom and sis for liking. Well, my sister pretended to like it to spite me, but this Hamnet bullshit is just as bad.
>>217438583It was alright, but forgettable. She did a good job in the scene's featuring the family, she really humanizes Shakespeare. At the same time, though, you could tell she has little to no theater background, as she dropped the ball in every scene relating to the writing process, rehearsal, and theatrical performance. She also made little to no connection between the trauma the death caused Shakespeare and his family, and the actual play Hamlet itself. Hamlet is really a simple character: he is in a constant, ceaseless state of dismay and despairing, because he has lost all hope. But she doesn't connect the dots between the family trauma and lines in the play, but how could she? She admitted herself she has basically no familiarity with Shakespeare: I at least respect her honesty.

Dogs just need to chill the fuck out. If they specifically have a traumatizing background, like they were rescued from dogfighting or something like that, that's one thing, I get that. But if they're just a normal dog that's never had anything awful happen to them and they're growling and snapping at everything and they're all scared or whatever, they need to knock their shit off. The fuck do they have to be worried about? They literally have a home where they're being loved, fed, bathed, played with, etc. Fucking relax.

>>217438889Depp should obviously get credit for that but Bruckheimer deserves the mention for casting Depp. As I said earlier he knows there will be a wider mature audience for a leading man like Depp who's rather outside the box. Likewise for the casting of Bloom and Knightly, probably the two perfect "first crushes" for the pubescent audience.
>>217438889They also talk about this movie in the book Disneywar. Originally Depp was thinking maybe it would be cool if Jack Sparrow had had his nose cut off.
