Name a more Reddit movie made in the past 5 years
>>219219414Honestly, at least this had some neat practical effects and wasn't just Gosling on a plastic set talking with CGI
>>219219414This was less than five years ago? Jesus christ if that's true it wins, I was going to say Don't Look Up
>>219219414This had some cringey aspects but I never clocked it as full on reddit, and Michelle Yeoh kicks ass.>>219220162Don't Look Up would definitely be my pick. That reddit trash was insufferable.

Are these two fantasy series worth watching? How do they hold up in 2026? They were big in the 1990s, but what about them would be so different to newer fantasy series in recent years?
>>219218748>>219219586
You have to watch them as they aired basically so it makes the most sense. If you watch herc first or xena first and then the other, it's just odd when you go back to the other.
>>219214110Hercules and Xena, and the 1990s in general, made for the last crop of very mainstream fantasy series that did not involve predominantly British Isles and Irish accents. Unless I don't remember correctly, English language 1990s fantasy and also probably historical stuff tends to usually sound American, not British. Movies like The Lord of the Rings and Gladiator changed the American voice trend in those types of series.

Marriage seems like hell
>>219216106>I'll probably have a mid-life crisis at some point because of not having a family, but I'll manage.Thats only a thing for women men who dont care about relationships tend to stay that way
>>219205148
If I got married I would change gender on my passport and never tell my wife
>>219205148Stable healthy happy marriages don't generally make for good movies unless we're talking the Addams Family movies from the 90s

So how the fuck does mark survive this?Idgi
>>219203886I'm sorry but what the fuck was this episode? This show keeps disappointing me season after season and for some reason I still expect better. 1) Why did they have to recruit teenager robot girl????2) Why Nolan wouldn't want to see Oliver even from a distance, just to see how his son grew??3) Why Viltrumites are so nerfed that they could not one punch oliver or that robot jacket girl?4) Why was space fight so dogshit and nothingburger5) If Viltrumites had information about their ship and who was there, why did they send just 3???6) Why no one really focused Nolan during the fight and they kept chasing that fucking kid??7) How can you Conquest survive after getting brains splattered and face completely disintegrated but die of suffocation so fast? 8) Why can't bearded viltrumite guy just use the stronger poison variant?
>>219220356Viltrumites can recover from anything except heart and brain loss, the black guy from this episode was in a similar situation to mark in season 2The reason Conquest is missing an arm is that he lost it while also under the effect of the Scourge virus
>character goes to rural Appalachia>gets attacked by inbred hillbilliesIs this really a thing? I can think of more realistic places for it to happen
>>219215840Not wellYou see how Iran and Palestine etc are doing?
>>219215840They don’t
>>219214941
>>219214941Wow that's deep. Except american audience doesn't give a shit about those countries. The facts it happens in America just a few miles from civilization makes it interesting.
>>219215840There are levels to inbreeding. If you just marry a cousin one time it's not a big problem. It becomes a problem when you do it repeatedly for generations. And of course siblings are much worse.

>>219219728Really makes you wonder how he landed the Phoenix back in Bozeman, without impulse engines or anti-gravity fields.
>>219219798Maybe Phoenix's cabin was an independent capsule for reentry? That'd fit the tech level he was working with, though it's weird not to show that.
>>219220061It's a mess. They are not experiencing any g-forces when the Phoenix accelerates to warpspeed. Does that mean that the warp bubble is prevented g-forces from coming through, or has Cochrane also invented intertia dampeners? It would be lot easier for a 60 year old untrained man to survive a parachute drop into the woods.

Which way do you prefer?Brain chips or no brain chips?
>>219219332It was unironically one of Lucas' biggest mistakes.
>>219219553me
>>219219553Him >>219219986
No one likes brain chips. If George wasn't totally resigned by that point, he would have stopped it.
>>219217844You need to be more specific. Are you asking if I prefer the clones to have agency or not? Or are you asking if I prefer for their genetic programming that makes them totally obedient without question manifesting physically in the form of a brain tumor that can be removed or not?If it's the former, then the clones don't have agency and never did. It was established by Lucas both in the films and in the interviews. Clones did not have free will when executing Order 66. Order 66 was a secret directive programmed into them that could only be issued by Darth Sidious, unbeknownst to the Jedi, the Senate, and the clones themselves. They were programmed to obey Darth Sidious, and they could not physically question it or refuse it. It's Manchurian Candidate. Clones having free will is a licensed material retcon made by the writers who had nothing to do with the movies and just did not understand them. Clones were never meant to be morally responsible for it, ever since Episode 2 established that they were physically altered before they were born, thus robbed of agency on a genetic level. They are meant to be living weapons, not someone consciously making the choice of pulling the trigger. They mirror the droid army.If it's about the latter, that it is something physical that can be removed, then I honestly don't care much, as long as you make it difficult and the clone can die in the process or something like that, so that it isn't too easy and has a price. In the original 1962 Manchurian Candiate film, programming was broken by visual symbols and words. In the Manchurian Candidate 2004 remake, it was an actual implant that could be physically removed, adding more body horror to the concept. Knowing how much Lucas takes from various movies, it is not surprising.
