I think they've done Aemond really well in this series, for all my problems with it. Couldn't have really asked for more there, it's perfectuntil next week when they make Aemond apparently burn his brother. I liked that he protected Aegon and, despite having ambitions for the throne, being such an autist he doesn't try to steal it out of respect for the line of succession and the idea of honor more than actual emotions for his brother.
