>>204491466Garbage
>>204491429It's more than practically the same. It's a remake. The story goes that 2 was made with Julie Corman and after Roger Corman saw it he asked Jim Wynorski to remake it with the same actors and plot. It's in an office building because they had just finished filming Corporate Affairs and wanted to reuse the set.
>>204491429I mean yeah its basically all the same actors and same plot from Sorority House Massacre II but different location. It isn't die hard at all if that's what you're wondering.
>>204491118Terrifier 2 was given a lot of attention and space by Hollywood--in this meaning not just the studio system but also their servants: the "media news outlets" (THR, Variety, Deadline, The Wrap), the mainstream "news sources" and the paid bloggers, all of which have given Terrifier a lot of coverage and publicity, even if indirectly (as in those bs articles about "viewers needing medical assistance" after watching it etc). Instead of not giving it any limelight or even sabotaging it bc it was a relatively independent production, the mass entertainment system (through Cineverse, the movie's relatively new distributing company) decided to give the movie a lot of hype-- which is a type of validation-- and a wide release. All of that happened because there is a social engineering aspect to these violent but otherwise tame movies as they seem to anesthetize its core audience and leave it in a type of containment chamber. Male energy should be focused towards action, it can't be restricted to watching this type of gory/puerile cinema

It just wasn’t fun. Too meanspirited. Was I supposed to enjoy the kills? Be scared? Grossed out?The effects are great but so much of the movie is just Art torturing people, and not in a funny way. Very little tension or atmosphere. It almost felt like it was insecure and that it needed to top itself to meet audience expectations. For a movie that tries so hard to push the envelope and break the “rules” of morality (kids/animals), it simultaneously functions as if you’re supposed to be on Art’s side for a lot of it, which just doesn’t work. Not scary, not a fun romp of mayhem, just a bleak, one-note tortureporn flick.A few clever ideas, the look of the film felt less amateurish than the first two, continuity respected, but just a weird tone that doesn’t invite the audience to be in on the sick joke. Also, the transition to the third act was done very poorly, it felt like some scenes were cut out.I have a tough stomach and a high tolerance for this sort of content, but this movie, for all of its effects, took the joy out of slashing.

>>204494119Wow. Terrifier 3 was gore tastic. I like seeing children being blown up opening Christmas presents in a mall, it was crazy there were three kids in my theater is Kansas this weekend. Whose parents bring them to see this shit? I liked it more than part 2 which was overlong. Now if they had cut 49 minutes off part 2, absolute gore kino. Part 3 hit the spot. It was kewl because it reminded me of a lot of these children being used as human shields against Israel who get what they deserve! Terrorists. Meet Terrifier 3. We should send Art to Lebananon and Pakistan and let him solve the problem, we should just screen this movie in December to scare them before we blow up their secret weapons and nukes. I loved that scene with the girl and the glass this time. I was cheering and so were a lot of Kansas gore hounds. How will they top it in part 4?

This isn't horror at all but the "mean spirited" discussion made me think of this movie, where Dwight from The Office brutally murders a man with a wrench for cutting in line at a movie theater, and gets raped by Ellen Page.
>>204491019>watch this boring, nothing ever happens slop with an autistic man endlessly crying and simping Stop shilling this shit before more anons get tricked into watching it. Don't even bother pretending I'm not right, I shan't be baited.

>>204494565>ellen pagewho?
>>204494566Claire spotted
>>204492187I think the idea of Butterfly Kisses is scarier than the actual film or the way they portray it. Almost would have worked better as a written short story. The imagery in my head of an It Follows situation except the monster gets closer and closer until it's so in your face that you're brushing its eyelashes is good. And the Camera aspect adds some interesting variation to that concept. They could have leaned a bit more into the whole keeping the camera running thing I think. The idea that they proved an evil spirit exists, and is INCREDIBLY easy to manifest with any camera, and somehow wait until like the climax of the movie for anybody to be like 'oh what if we try it again' is kind of infuriating. Imagine telling literal ghost hunters they could just go somewhere and prove ghosts exist in 1 hour with a camera with near 100% consistency and they're just like>Nah, this is stupid.
is from any good?
Terrifier 3 isn't mean spirited, but a comedy. There were some pointless scenes though, like where the two dudes check out Art's house.
>>204494119kek good funpost, sounds exactly like the kinds of people actually invading here to cry about Terrifier because they can't just go around allowing anons to enjoy kino filled with "muh sore gyney"
>>204494427To be fair, I don’t love (but do like) the first two. 1 was charming in a low budget way and inept outside of the gore, shot through an instagram filter, but I could buy in because of the goof factor. 2 tried to be more of a real movie and had some heart that sold me. 3 is a compromise between 1 and 2 that never really delivers on either (tried to be more Art focused but also tell a story like 2). There is no “that scene”, instead he tried to make every kill “that scene”. It’s like he lasered in to the positive reception of the bedroom kill in 2 and decided that was the movie.Maybe you’ll feel differently but this was, to me, like the opposite of getting jipped out of kills in a PG-13 movie. Too much. A rare film that focuses on kills but without making them fun.
>>204492320lol, i was genuinely surprised someone financed this piece of shit script after seeing that mess. waste of a premise
>>2044947023 isn’t misogynistic at all, in fact it goes out of its way to have feminist subtext. All of the guy characters are dicks, the girls lead the movie.Criticism and my opinion aren’t meant to make you enjoy a movie less btw.>>204494675You thought it was funny? Well, glad you got something out of it I didn’t.

>>204494845Just fyi, all hallows eve and terrifier 1 are objectively bad and unenjoyable even in an>it's so bad it's goodor enjoying the camp way. They're just bad movies. 2 is alright for what it is, despite being far too long.
Just watched that japanese tv movie of innsmouth from 1992 that was posted about 10 threads ago and it definitely looks like a japanese tv movie from 1992, they probably had the tiniest of budgets and shot the whole thing in three days, everything about it is very tv movie from the 1990s, but it's fun, nothing memorable, it's kind of slow but somehow not slow enough if that makes sense. Not a bad 55 minutes, watch it if you're into Lovecraft or if you've seen Dagon. There's also a very bizarre brief use of the suspiria soundtrack out of nowhere for a few seconds.

>>204495231Well, at least with Steamboat Willie, there's not much to borrow from. He's a mouse...on a boat and there is an mean cat.
>>204495276Neo Jerusalem
>>204495276Meant for >>204494148Makes more sense than Gotham being inside a General Electric
>>204495084Honestly, The Ring. With the exception of watching the tape in the first place - and I mean, come on. If you heard there was a cursed youtube video you would watch it immediately - She uncovers the whole mystery and the solution. The only problem was that that she didn't realize that doing the standard horror movie was a bad idea.Actually now that I think a bout it, they make a big deal out of taking the body out of the well and that she wasn't a tormented spirit she was just evil, and now it's worse that she's out. But does that even matter at all? She was still killing the cursed people in 7 days, and passing the curse on still worked. So what if she's out of the well?
>>204495014A Dark Song
>>204494845I say start with Terrifier 1. All Hallow's Eve is decent but it's an anthology film and not entirely focused on art and it's rather low budget (also the actor playing Art is different). There's also something cool that happens in Terrifier but if you've seen All Hallow's Eve you might see it coming beforehand. Watch All Hallow's Eve at some point though.
>>204495321>So what if she's out of the well?Perhaps being out of the well increased the range of her influence? Fuck if I know.
Where are the cheesy Trumpsploitation movies?
>>204494948>UMMM... to who ever the CREEP told us to watch a porno on twitter... yuck!

Never watched Insidious, is it any good?
>>204495394They're not like that. Podcasting isn't even their main job. They're pro wrestlers.
>>204495084not exactly that, but The Ruins is a rare film where there's a rational while male character in a way that really stands out. It's because it's based on a book, so their hand was probably forced by the director. You have to see it to know what I mean - good film too.
>>204495364I’d watch a movie with cartoonishly exaggerated killer trump supporters as long as their victims are cartoonishly exaggerated liberals.
>>204495321she thought letting her out of the well would ease her spirit and stop the curse but doing so made her even more powerful and now she can make tapes on her own and not rely on people copying the tape and showing it to someone
>>204495412It's not terrible.
>>204495419it seems like a horror movie but it's actually a porno with an extremely thin wraparound. If I was being serious, I'd say Mr. Vampire.

>>204495476That scene where they all have to take turns nailgunning the guy in the head as he progressively loses his brain functions is pretty brutal for a TV show. I didn't watch the whole show but saw that part.
>>204495456He has an American flag knife. Is this the right taking the piss or the left being serious?
>>204495456Thanks, looks funny.
>>204495536It's the left being serious. They hate this country like you wouldn't believe.
Jennifer’s Body is better than people give it credit for.
>>204495595wdym, everyone loves that film
>sliced my finger with a big knife while doing the dishes like a retard, lots of blood gushing out/hor/ for this feeling?
>>204495114well, good for you that you enjoyed yourself, i just don't really understand how. odd how films elicit such different responses sometimes
>>204495659classic horror scene. you go "oww" and go to find some bandages, and then the monster strikes.
>>204495659I cut the very tip of my pinky finger off with a y-peeler a while back. It wouldn't stop bleeding and I eventually just wrapped it in paper towels and put a bunch of tape around it and went to bed. When I woke up later on it had stopped and I bandaged it and cleaned it properly.
>>204495550I wonder how much of a laugh I could get out of this. The trailer rode the line of absurd humor.
>>204495659phantasm.

alright finally up to this in the Puppet Master Marathon.stars Corey Feldman when he was still a real actor. I liked him in Bordello of Blood.

>>204495906okay but now I did some further looking and I'm really not sure, this is from same guy>The US Government created a serum meant to turn urban negroes into simulated house negroes. It also gave out superhuman powers that were augmented especially when dealing with social issues. When this serum some how finds its way into the hands of the Klan, the most unconventional super hero emerges.

i saw the tranny glow has been replaced with "Hausu". Pro tip for everyone here. Make sure before you watch something, don't look at the trailer, and don't rely on the poster either. You have to see who the director is and then skim through a few reviews from people you can trust. last year saw "world's fair" from this tranny director and it was one of the worst pieces of shit i've ever seen and this cunt almost just got me again but my instincts realized it before hitting play. Don't be deceived by redditor and nostalgia bait analogue visuals. don't waste your time and don't let yourself get fooled by a24/neon trash. Also: if you're not sure about a movie and you don't see "female full frontal nudity" or "exposed female breasts" in the tags, that's a big red flag and you should find something else to watch.
>>204496520It's fine. largely carried by the sound design and music though, same as World's Fair.
>>204496520>reading reviews before watching somethingyou couldn't be any more of a midwit
>>204496520>>204496542>World's fairNOTHING happens in this movie
>>204496624zoomers prefer it that way, so they can make 5hr documentaries theorizing what could have happened.
>>204496542I don't think it's carried by the sound design. World's Fair is basically only carried by sound design, otherwise it's a tame TV movie about a kid on the internet who likes horror stuff but is otherwise entirely middle class safe. I Saw the TV Glow is a pretty good psychological horror, and they leaned into the visuals more than the sound design this time. It's not a movie they could lean heavily on music because so much of the overall design is nostalgia bait, and to buy those rights off Billy Corgan would kill most productions.
>>204496752mr pumpkins' wrestling promotion isn't doing very well right now so someone could probably get them for a decent price at the moment
