Last night's movie: Tenebrae>tfw no thicc bisexual Italian gf
>>204536785My favorite part was the girl getting chased by the dog and discovering the killer's lair. That entire sequence was kino. Not a fan of the ending though, I hate these kinds of twists
how's the salem's lot remake
>>204536764Which the inept director failed to properly show in Alien Romulus
>>204536947Complete ass. It was supposed to have a theatre run and they released it on streaming instead. What does that tell you?
>>204536914Yeah that's a great scene. I like the chaotic ending personally but I can see how you'd hate it.
>>204536703Taissa starred in a very good episode of Quibi's 50 States of Fright (Almost There)

>Dead babies/abortions>Goats>Naked men/ritualistic orgiesWhy is every horror movie so uncreative with evil cults?
>>204537437That's what they do irl.
>>204537437Fiction mimics reality, just without the pedophilia.
>>204537491The Jonestown audio is more chilling than any horror movie cult I have ever heard. Go look at real cults, retard.
>>204537520nta but Jonestown was not satanist
>>204536764That dress looks like a facehugger is raping her ass.
>>204537539Oh, I see. I wasn't even necessarily talking about satanism, but I guess I should have phrased my post better. My bad.
>>204537520>Go look at real cultsThe Clintons do that stuff. It's real. Jonestown is tame compared to the people that run our planet.
>>204537280>both snides of the political spectrum bash this film. That's usually a good sign. It means the movie is at the very least somewhat subtle and both teams got filtered by not having their usual blatant propaganda served to them.
>>204537562not fiction but Wild Wild Country is worth a watch if you like stuff about cults
>the triangle (2015)>Found footage>Cult invites documentary crew out to see their magical dinosaurFound footage is always right
>>204537520>>204537581Jonestown was notable because it wasnt a typical (((satanist))) cult. It was a gay bay area lefty preacher that convinced poors and blacks in San Francisco to move to Africa. And they killed a congressman.
>>204537644Guyana's in the Americas
>>204537520Real cults are a bunch of ex addicts and low iq inbreds getting brainwashed by the most retarded shit imaginable. Their leaders are not charismatic, if they were they would attract normal people and not the dregs of society. The Jonestown tape is creepy and a lot of people have died in spectacular ways due to cults but there is usually not much of a story to be told.Best case was Midsommar which showed exactly how cults manipulate the mentally unstable but the tards around here hate it because muh wahmen.
>>204537661Not much of a difference.
>>204537661>40% Indian>30% African>in the middle of nowhere south americaWhy did Jim Jones take his cult to hell on Earth?
>>204537675I hate midsommar because its female brained boring drama garbage.

Underrated classic
>>204537809but if you watch Watchers, who is watching you watch Watchers?
>>204537894Pretty shite m8. Even the supposed good shorts benefit greatly from being low budget and concise. The only one I would call good is the SEAnigger cyborg one.
>>204536092Film?
>>204537894They're all a mixed bag, generally with a few interesting things with some unique takes on found footage, mixed with some utter shit in other segments. If you like found footage as a genre then I think you should go through the whole series. But just know that you're going to be in for some utter crap at times.
>>204537894vhs viral freaking sucks!
>>204537894First two are good
>>204538008The Deep Dark
>highschoolers look dweeby and not like instagram models posing for a college diversity advertisementi miss those times
>>204537809It started off well but the ending was lame IMO. It was pretty and had a comfy setting though.
>wear slutty outfit and dance/grind your ass all over guy>surprised when you get rapedThe whole “women director” thing showed a lot more in this movie than The Substance.

>>204539144Watch The Fly next. That's a classic.
>>204539335nta, but i watched The Fly II a couple of weeks ago before spooktober, people rarely mention it, but its a fun little movie. Leaning obviously heavier into B-Movie, but its still great. It has the Actor that was supposed to be Marty McFly ironically which made me giggle after i found out digging into the trivia.

>>204538432The dude on the right looks retarded but good friend. I remember him on 976-EVIL too.

>>204539577No it needs to have 25 different characters and mostly be about kids dealing with family issues. Oh and occasionally busting ghosts.
>>204539577They just shouldn't make one at all.
>>204539738its inevitable, but they could at least try.
I really think this is the first truly zoomer film.I don't say this in a bad way, but rather because this film is a curious artifact of post-modern times. From the stylistic choices used to construct its mise-en-scène to the way its narrative is developed and presented reflect idiosyncratic elements of our current society, at least the one in which zoomers are so immersed. It will be interesting to watch this film in 10 years and see how things have changed (or not) in the mentality or even in the construction of identity of people who grew up under the yoke of the social media machine and the hyperreality of the world.Very interesting and underappreciated film.

Seen that today. It was a decent movie, with pretty good child actors, great atmosphere thanks to a good lighting and sound design and an interesting concept. Man, that dog scene was great.Though, if the house were suppose to protect them, why didn't they simply take some woods in their pocket.
>>204540722Novitiate. It's neither nunsploitation nor horror It's nunkino nonetheless.

If anyone missed this and were wondering whether they should check it out, the answer is 'yes.' It's just a perfect action/horror blockbuster with high re-watchability potential. It has a linear and legitimate place in the Alien franchise timeline but doesn't bury itself in lore like the last two did. The movie itself doesn't depend on much, if any, knowledge of any of the previous movies to function beautifully at the level it does. And it really is just visually beautiful all over, as well. The movie is stunning from start to finish. It doesn't crush you with novel movie elements as much as it gets everything else just about perfect. But, in spite of that there are some novel additions to the Alien lore that keep the movie fresh. Definitely one of the best horror movies to come out this year.

>>204546831Yes. Several.
>I saw your message in the paper>I’m calling as instructed >IM A CREEPThis goosebumps episode is unintentionally hilarious

Thanks again anon, the video quality looks really great in this.
>>204547176>>204547147>>204546921this movie really solidified my preference for tits
>>204547324hey it's that guy
>>204546932i forgot actually. the movie is all over the place, but its fun scifi action horror if you want something lighthearted for lets say early evening/afternoon before the good stuff comes out
I'm tired of scary movies with depressing hopeless endings. I'm looking for movies that are dark and scary throughout, but end on a optimistic note
>>204547324Definitely
>>204547432Suspiria.
>>204547319No problem, glad you got it. Always nice to share good movies to /hor/ frens.
>>204547251starting now come enjoy the kino
I find it incredible how even the most low-budget, no-name straight-to-video horror movies of the 80s could put together effects and make-up that looked incredible, and now even the biggest horror movies can barely do anything physical and just rely on CGI for most of the visuals
>>204536785thoughts on her (male)?
>>204547695And people will still claim it's cheaper.

>>204538907I bet you didn't watch Spain's Venus and wouldn't have enjoyed the final girl rampage, you spoilsport. Scharzenegger can get away with being a spoilsport but I'm certain you do not.
>>204546308>oh no dont suck my blood haha
Smile 2 or Terrifier 3
>>204547749w-what's going on here?
>>204547695>>204547875All of the biggest horror movies of this year were practical effects heavy and openly used it as a selling point, even the new Alien movie.
>>204547543Based. Have a direct quote from cinematographer Luciano Tovoli on the final shot:>Colour had finally become pure matter, pure vibration, a life that necessarily destroys itself to be free, to be promptly reborn in the magnificent ‘finale’ in which Suzy, as were born to a new life, leaves the field smiling.>The lightning flashes become friendly light, the light of a sweet and vigorous caress to which, finally confident, she proffers her face! A light that welcomes, a light that designs a future possible once more! I could watch this shot even a thousand times, with Suzy’s sweet smile, and a thousand times I’d feel the same deep, tranquil, liberating emotion generated by every catharsis.
>>204548266>zoomerslop or goreslop
>>204548266Ask the girl you're going to the theater with
Starting Evil Dead Rise, what am I in for?
>>204547432Based.I know le villain wins is kind of a staple of horror but to me it just seems cheap and a way to give a fuck you to the audience. I much prefer the protagonist to get one over on the villain who skulks away to lick his wounds, opening the door for the sequel.Love me 'appy endins. Simple as.
>>204546921>>204547324Classic Mel Brooks.

>>204548315Guy is a better critic than most actual film critics, based. I also like that La terza madre ends the same way.
It truly starts to feel like Halloween season once it’s finally cold enough outside to knock the dust off this bad boy

>>204548698clean your house
>>204541858you must be 12 years old or under to do that
>>204548315And i like how my two favourite horror films (Suspiria and The Beyond) have direct opposite ends, one is a hopeful breath of relief and a signal to the possibility of a bright future and the other is pure soul crushing hopelessness, eternal damnation, no future whatsoever. A smile versus lifeless eyes, a cleansing rain shower versus a blinding fog, hope versus desperation, a burst of light versus an eternity of darkness.

Seems like Terrifier 3 got the Joker 2 treatment as in Art had to share screen time with some girl.

>>204549028You do what you can. I'd rather have fun enjoying little things, rather than feel bad about being alone and gepressed about things that can't be changed.
>>204548713Well, I was back then so...
>>204547432>>204548402>movie actively tries to have an emotional core and make you care about the characters and their plight>ends with a shitty HAHA GOTCHA LE TWIST anywaysalways pisses me off, i wouldn't even mind a downer ending but it's always done like the lowest grade straight to dvd cheap schlock possible.
Just watched Deep Rising. Other than kek "Anaconda at sea" what did I think of it?
>>204550386You enjoyed it. Especially for Famke.
