I just watched 'Stream', from the team who brought you the Terrifier movies, and it was truly awful. The guy who plays Art the Clown doesn't even make an attempt to be different

horror movies with big asses?
>>
>>204665306
The twists you mention are part of the movie's total tonal freedom and recall stuff such as the famous Prom Night and Kill List twist endings and enhance the unrelenting cautionary lesson approach of the story.
There's a wry twist on the final girl trope which emphasizes that her irresponsibility and recklessness resulted in a tragic outcome and there's a burden of guilt hanging over her.
The black guy seemed suspicious the second he failed to shoot on that pool area scene and it upends the chummy black side character cliche

Yes. One MAJOR aspect that helps Stream move along so well is the fact that it has several characters and they look vivid/specific enough so that we always know who's who.
It also mysterious leave at least 3 characters with undefined, open-ended fates

Neither and yet it encompasses elements from both. There's no movie that fully compares to it because it mixes 2 subgenres: slashers+death games

>>

I was just surprised to see the couple having sex in the bathtub like classic horror movies
Especially since both were actually quite attractive, a muscle chad and a classic big boobie bimbo
Terrifier 3 for example has attractive victims but they don't feel sexualized at all which is sad
>>
Terrifier 3 is the weakest movie in the series so far.

It's weird that the entire film doesn't actually need to exist. The entire momentum it gives the series could have been done in 10 minutes in 2.
But it's not bad really, it's definitely the funniest and isn't unenjoyable.
>>
>>204666071
Precisely, a consistent, believable couple displaying mutual attraction and later having sex
It also shows one of the killers w/a nice cleavage and there are other mentions of sex and sexual behavior/energy throughout the movie
>>
>>204666126
It's way better than the bloatlord nonsense that is 2
Still can't believe they have the gall not to show Art killing anyone in the actual Halloween party sequence, besides the mom which is on a whole other place
>>
>>204665888
Stop motion was generally use for decades.
Or suits. Love them too. With models.
And puppets like in Them! All equally great but using real animals is something that generally didn't look as good unless used sporadically.

Tomorrow is Lin Shaye, Linnea Quigley, some of the SAW cast, Bill Moseley and the guy who got a chainsaw to the ass in Terrifier 3.

They made it too algorithmic: rote dialogue, quota-based multirracial cast etc. It could have been much better with some adjustments. The "I Saw You" scene was one of this year's best

Sadly the hot black haired chick from the first Terrifier looks to be going the way of Elliot Page. She’s shaved most of her hair. Is full on “gender doesn’t exist”, questions her sexuality all the time and has already dreamt up what her male name etc would be. She’s going to make the transition soon by the sounds of it.

>Slashers are just capeshit for horror with mass appeal.
Your subjective approach is itself debatable but that's not even the worst part of your argument.
Slashers are a mainstay of horror cinema for at least half a century and have been consistently discussed in these generals for at least the past 5 years.
What on earth led you to the naive, absurd assumption that a /hor/ general would stop talking about slashers as one of its main topics bc you, a random person, dislike them?
Your attempt to come across as le /hor/ regular is made utterly ridiculous by the fact that someone who dislikes slashers would have stopped coming to these generals years ago.

>I don't sit here year round like you losers
But whining about the generals being year-round not just contradicts that but makes YOU a loser. Imagine clinging to/obsessing a place where you clearly don't belong.
/hor/ is going on year-round for 2 very simple reasons: there is supply (horror movie being released/rereleased throughout the year) and demand (anons deciding to talk about horror outside of Halloween season).
>I come here only for October and the last few years all I do is bitch at how awful this place has become.
Don't. Spare yourself and us the whining and find yourself a likeminded forum, perhaps one focused on your favorite genre(s). In fact, you sound as if you'd be more at home in a niche subreddit or discord.
>Specifically, I like how you keep fixating on the slashers, which was 1 complaint out of 5.
The others are absurd too because ALL horror variations are perfectly fine as discussion subjects-- you're not obliged to join or even read them.
Your objection to slashers is simply the most outlandish of your hang-ups since slashers are a major subject of these generals from the beginning.
Go to the archives and try to find one single /hor/ thread where slashers don't account for at least, say, 20%-30% of the thread's comments.

people interested in horror come up with interesting ideas and make films from them.

Occasional off-topic banter is very much part of this and any general-- that's yet another evidence that you want /hor/ to be what it never was.

Consider 2 possibilities: 1) netflix wouldn't spend a dime "shilling" anything here and 2)people often enjoy movies you don't-- some of these movies are recent theatrical or streaming releases so there's a natural coincidence.

fun fact: this kind of "let me quote every micro-point I disagree with and create a massive branching argument" is a prime indicator of aspergers.

A few weeks ago, some people ITT were talking about horror documentaries, and I mentioned I had an idea for a short one (like the kind you'd find on YouTube), but I'd probably never make it because it would probably turn out bad. Someone replied that I should try it and "see what happens".

True. People who nitpick (such as the guy above who's clearly filtered by simple plot points in MadS) often change the goalposts as they go along:
-hey, that's not realistic!!!
-wrong, it is plausible if you consider etc etc
-hey, why do you believe movie logic applies to real life???
Etc

it's an alarming trend
in super poor countries like "China" movies are made extra fucking long and have romance + comedy + action sub plots and scenes thrown in as a way of appealing to as many people as possible and the extra length is to entice the penurious population into thinking they're getting 'more movie for the money'
and now the U.S. is making extra long movies, despite a significant overall decrease in attention spans, i wonder why
