Objectively: it's a horror movies whose plot follows a police procedural template. It deals with satanism and has a few scarejumps as well as some stylistic flair. It's a good movie, among this year's best in the genre

I think the meta element of it being Nic Cage, and that kind of performance together just make it impossible not to think his scenes are comical in it. I can see people receiving it the intended way if they didn't know who Cage was, and I also have faith that Cage could have pulled it off in theory if they were shot and edited differently.

Unless Jason figures out whoever's blood was used to summon Pumpkinhead is his only weakness then it'd just go on and on, each getting more brutal and creative as they try to kill each other.

Honestly I always thought a "Pumpkinhead Vs. The Horror Universe" would be a cool crossover. Bunch of former victims or relatives of iconic slasher villain victims ban together to summon Pumpkinhead to take revenge on the killers. Michael, Freddy, Jason, Chucky, Leatherface, etc.

Do people actually like the Halloween sequels after 3? The franchise is one big letdown, when you learn it was suppose to be an anthology Halloween series, with each movie being different story. We instead have them trying to relive the success of the first film with diminishing returns.

Genuinely I like it a lot. Unflinching portrayal of how lives can be permanently screwed up by violent trauma, most of the kills feel like actual murders. It's a far better "deconstruction" of Halloween more than Ends ever was.

Might be an unpopular opinion, but Zombie handled the idea of Michael and Laurie being siblings better than any of the original films, too. It has an actual, tangible impact on her life, the horror of it being that her blood ties come back to ruin her and she never had a chance; despite all the effort that was taken to protect her.

H4 is basically flawless aside from the mask.

PROS
> Great moody opening credits surveying farm equipment adorned with Halloween decorations.
> Solid score.
> The film certainty has a different feel from the original 2 films but is still very suspenseful & atmospheric in it's own way (and is still dead serious in tone)
> Like 2 the film does a decent job of fleshing out Haddonfield as a real town with culture & history.
> Donald as always is great.
> Harris as Jamie remains among the best performances from a child actor I have encountered in a horror film.
> Rachel is a solid final girl.
> Sheriff Meeker (beau starr) I have always thought to be cool, his professional & trusting interaction with Loomis is more enjoyable then the more strained back & forth between Brackett & Loomis in 1/2. We get a faint hint of laziness/denial on his part with him initially trying to blow Loomis off but once he takes things seriously he goes into war mode like a boss.
> I liked that they wrote both Loomis & Myers as having learned from the events of 78, what with Loomis not hesitating to demand a town wide curfew which he resisted doing in 78 and Myers taking out both the Police & Power stations early on & letting officer Logan take him directly to his targets.
> Build up to & reveal of the police station massacre is chilling as well as the triple Michael sequence.
> This is easily the most powerful we have ever seen Myers on film.
> Entire ending from the battle atop the truck to the shootdown, to the twist is epic as hell.

CONS
> Worst mask of the series.

WTF are you talking about?
H20 has always been universally considered decent at worst and revitalized the franchise.
Resurrection is the dumpsterfire abortion.

H20

Pros!
> Solid showdown between Laurie & Myers. Michael ripping the axe out of his shoulder and slamming it into the ground was boss. Decapitation was great.
> Secluded school is a decent location.
> Young cast is decently likable.
> The bathroom sequence is suspenseful.
> Opening killings are suspenseful.

Cons!
> No character besides Laurie gets any depth.
> Laurie's boyfriend is really likable but is wasted overall.
> 3 different mask are used and ALL largely suck. Main one shows his eyes way too much, hair is too flared out & forehead is too big.
> Marco Beltrami's score is fine but doesn't really vibe with the franchise's traditional music at all.

Controversial elements some like & some dislike.
> The post scream feel.

Dream Warriors is a literal meme. Creative but a far cry from what F13th was. F13th part 3 at least keeps the spirit of the franchise alive on top of having all the elements you want to see in a typical slasher flick.

Gonjiam Haunted Asylum was great. Not super innovative but it was a brilliantly executed film. I'd say it's near perfect for what's expected of it.

its a game of copy and paste after taking a bunch of screens during your watch or after it, depending if youve seen the film before. enlarge the basic measures by 300% for a 3x3 and then add your selection by theme or whatever liking. keeping it somewhat spoilerfree seems a good way to go about, but you still want to tell a story or keep a theme. here i tried hiding chucky again. obviously when youre done you have to make sure the filesize isnt over four chins limit or where ever youre posting them.

TCMs sequels legit suck. I like some stuff in 2 but its almost too obviously a cheap cashgrab (cannon), especially in the makeup department. generally its just a retread of the first movie but with less atmosphere and a proper throughline. if you wouldve just focused dennis hoppers revengeplot, you could concentrate the plot into something like a proper horror-noir movie and never show the victim and the killers till like the last 20 minutes.

You are low IQ and you will always be and you're still seething because I told you so several days ago.
Your entire comment is, unsurprisingly, another unhinged spergout as imbeciles such as you clearly have a hard time assessing different directors and their work under specific circumstances and subgenres. Your takes are consistently irrelevant and pathetic

No, that's my attempt to make you realize how dim you sound. You're welcome
>>
Ever notice how the Beavis and Butthead fag can never actually make counter arguments? It's always just "Y-you're stupid and pathetic and you don't get it!"
I'm sure it truly takes a 160 IQ to understand Hostel and all of its massive, critically acclaimed legacy lmao

this is easily the best horror movie ever made

I mean it's easily the best Dracula film.. well after Herzog's Nosferatu of course.
>>
this is some anxiety-inducing bs

the timing required to go around town and interact with junk they've no control of (like the train), all in a single take is impressive

Name the top 5 worst horror films of all time

My counterarguments are all there: how Hostel was a gamechanger etc. Again: you are very stupid so you just keep seething and going in circles and trying to dumb the discussion down to your level. It's actually quite funny if pathetic to see how you're still malding thread after thread. Why not go for a walk instead of being so nervous

>My counter arguments are all there
>Hostel was a gamechanger
No it wasn't lmao, it just was another forgettable movie in the torture porn trend
>etc
Yeah real good arguments, anon
"Y-you're stupid and pathetic and have bad taste!" isn't a counter argument

>another forgettable movie in the torture porn trend
nta but Saw and Hostel were really the front runners of that. It's like calling Megadeth just another thrash band.
>>
>>204682998
>Speak No Evil
>Prey
>Annihilation
>Ex Machina
>Titane
are any of them horror? no. that's what makes them the worst horror films.
