EVIL DIES TONIGHT
>>204771548Based
>>204771500Oh man I hope nothing bad happens at the end of the countdown
Remember to watch some kino Corman-Poe this month anons.
You guys lied about Halloween III being good.
>>204771582I put these on throughout the year to fall asleep to. Nothing comfier.
>>204771603Sounds like you just have shit taste anon
>>204771603How can you get filtered by H3? What the hell>>204771582Based, those are great, probably the best Vincent Price filmsJust watched Pit and the Pendulum a few days ago
There was literally nothing scary about this movie, why is it classified as a horror movie, and why was it 2 hours long, it had no reason to last more than 1 hour, also what's about this message I'm seeing lately more and more>yeah that's a bad thing... except when I do it
>>204771689because it isn't listed as horror?https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14858658/
>>204771689>>204771703>Kyle is in ithow much screen time does he get
>>204771672nothing to get filtered by. it's just not very good.
>>204771672I have a particular nostalgia for movies that were aired on TV at Halloween or leading up to Halloween over the years when I was growing up.>Carrie>House of Usher>Nightmares>The Company of Wolves>Masque of the Red Death>Halloween 1 & 2>Gothic>ChristineI just have to rewatch them around Halloween for that feeling again. Plus the whole line of Corman-Poe movies are great any time of year desu >>204771609
Just about caught up with the new releases for the year. What's left to come out before Halloween?
>>204771792>thought that said “Alien Breasts”Damn I need to get laid
>>204771806Did you watch Carved yet?
>>204771830Looks terrible. I'm saving it for this weekend when I'll be too drunk to pay attention anyway.
>>204771672I hate this fucking movie and it’s gimmicky song. Ya, it’s funny, but it’s also ruining my life.
>>204771868>it’s also ruining my lifelol
what tracks put you in the spooky mood? I haven't even seen much X-Files but this theme gets me goinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qz2wnSVeITg
>>204771703To be fair I have never used imdb in my life, also>psychological thrillerDoes it really count as such when the movie is literally just about rape and a magic juice that make you forget bad things, the camera is not even relevant at the end.
>>204771753Huh, I didn't even notice this, in fact not much, I was expecting him to be revelead as the big bad guy at the end but, he's kind of just there and gets to leave before everything goes south.
>>204771831>Suspiria lightingHow many movies are in that damn cinematic universe?
Finally got around to watching the Wolf Man and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Wolf Man was great, loved the second half in paticular. Not gonna lie, dissapointed that I didn't end up loving or even enjoying Creature from the Black Lagoon that much. The monster design was great, and Julia Adams was so fucking hot, but the story felt too cliche and it just didn't have vibe of earlier Universal monster films.
Watching the first Terrifier and there’s nothing you can do about it
didn't ask
Ewwww
>>204770468Just finished. It was so good. One of the most violent, gorey and blood splattered vampire movies ever. Any fans of John Carpenter's Vamires or Daybreakers should watch it.Leif Jonker's Darkness 1993
>>204772029
ok Puppet Master number 14, this is a Blade spin-off filmstars Emily Bloom-er I mean "Tania Fox" again
>>204772216How can you sit through all these
>>204772220ngl I needed a break last night so I watched The Munsters instead
>>204772220>>204772216Anon is doing gods work
So is this who has been constantly posting about terrifier?
>>204772241Is it any good?
>>204772220Probably for Emily. She's real easy on the eyes.
Don't forget to keep those pumpkins lit
>>204771919Well isn't it kinda relevant as she realizes she has been there before due to the polaroids? Still a rather mediocre film.
>>204772261honestly it's not bad, though it's more like a 2 hour television pilot than a film because there's hardly a plot. it had one of the worst trailers of all time which put people off, but delivers on some chill laughs and goofs.
Hey guys, i'm just going to the basement alone, i'll be back real quick.

>>204772295I guess "kinda" describes it well since everything was already on the move by the time it happens, and taking into consideration the way the drug worked it was just a matter of time for her to remember anyways so not sure what was even the point.
>>204772552can't believe a film that grosses 40m just in the US doesn't have a plan to release internationally. it's free money!

If the Terrifier series came out in the 70s/80s /hor/ would shit themselves over it
If Alien came out in the 1930s people's head would swell up and explode like a cartoon
>>204772764you have any idea how much more impressive alien would've been if it released in the 30s?
>>204772764That would have changed the course of mankind probably

>>204771792Movie worse than Things. My SOV days, scrapping the bottoms of the barrel of horror was a dark time.

>>204773019>Thing weighs a tonne.Oh yeah, moving a tv to another room was a real feat of strength back then.
>>204772220
the only thing of note about Blade: The Iron Cross was that "Tania Fox" does a nude scene. Initially I thought they were blurring out her pussy but on closer inspection, I think she was wearing some of skin coloured underwear but it was incredibly obvious so they just tried to fix it in post. bravo.
>get told that Funny Games is the ultimate horror movie because it breaks conventions that normally don't get broken>start watchingOh yeah, It's intentionally doing shots that don't frame it on the usual things, plays with music at the start over top of the family car scene, lots of ADR instead of regular audio. Though this is all just normal for cheap horror movies.>breaks the fourth wall a bunchLegit spoiler that ruins a lot of the tension if you read this: When the wife manages to get the gun, shoots the one guy, and then the other guy rewinds the movie to undo that.I can see why this would be so highly respected for a movie in 1997. This would have been like nothing else. Considering only recently have fourth wall breaking become the norm.Any Zoomers watching it, would probably not be able to appreciate how different this movie was for the time. They've grown up in the "subvert expectations" era. I grew up in that era, so even though I watched it today, I still understand what movies were like then, and can understand how significantly different this is.I watched both the 1997 version and the 2007 remake. The only flaw of the remake, is that Naomi Watts is way too pretty. Part of what made the 1997 so good, is how unremarkable the looks of the cast is, and it allows the entire feel of the movie to feel more real. There's nothing wrong with her acting in the movie, just too pretty for the proper immersion.Solid 9/10 for both. Highly recommend.
>>204773435>blurring out her pussy but on closer inspection
>still no haunted ulster live release
Watching Starry Eyes. Better not be shit.
Alright, I owe Rob Zombie an apology. I discounted him as a director after watching the House of 1000 Corpses trilogy but I enjoyed this, like, way more than I thought I would.

>>204773789I've seen at least three Michaels under the bridge while I'm on the train.
>>204773785pretty sure most people liked Zombie's Halloween
Haunt was pretty good.I went into it with super low expectations but it ended up being a decent slasher. I felt it captured the feeling of a walking through a haunted house effectively. The multitude of unique rooms that seemingly never end were sweet (they're also designed like what you'd see in actual haunted houses this time of year). The cast is whatever but who really cares for a movie like this. Same goes for any deeper plot. The kills weren't boundary pushing but still effective enough. I really liked the tension throughout most of it.I'll probably watch this again if I need a quick, no-frills slasher.sorry for any typos I'm a bit druk
>>204773785Weak bait.>>204773764That's the main thing that I really liked about it, I love how much more violent and high impact it was than the original.
>>204773785Hey, I hate the '07 Halloween too, but he might just enjoy it, I don't think he's trying to be "unique" I like Curse, despite everyone hating it
>>204773750in the director's cut of his halloween 1 remake a woman gets raped in his cell as a reason for why he escapes (he has no part in it it's just that one of the caretakers that are doing the raping ruins his things and that makes him angry)

Watched 4 new movies, 1 wasn't horror:>#AMFADWhat an absolute bad movie. Just the way it's shot would make you think it was a made-for-mtv movie. The ending is incredibly predictable right from the start. Then they throw in an ending twist just to setup for a possible sequel, that I really hope never happens. The only thing good about this movie is that Jade Pettyjohn is attractive.>Bad KittiesNot a horror movie, just a drama about a bunch of teen girls bitching and being poor white trash. Out of all the FF movies I've seen, this is probably the most annoying of them all.>Last Night At Terrace LanesThis is below average and ridiculous. It had a shot at being good if they dumped 90% of the budget into effects for the kills and gore. Only thing I really cared about was looking at Francesca Capaldi because goddamn. You'd have to be a the gayest dude on earth to not want to fuck her.>Scarred To DeathThis is the 144th FF movie I've seen and it has the worst dialog and acting out of them all. It's honestly astounding how bad it is. Within the first 15 minutes you want the asian dude to die because his dialog is atrocious. The lead woman/camerman has a terrible accent that makes me instantly hate her. Fuck this movie, NEVER watch it.

Watched Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II last night. I've seen it before, but it's been a while. Very fun, campy 80s movie that takes itself pretty seriously despite how goofy it is at times. Kino nude scenes as well. I wonder if the locker room scene from The Faculty was partly inspired by the one in this movie.

>>204771523I remember reading the sequel was meant to something to do with these ideas>new Leslie vernon killings happen in another location, she goes to try and stop him>twist is it’s not Leslie, it’s an imitator and he ends up helping them stop him because his work is sloppy and disrespectfulOr>she runs a To Catch A Predator style show where they bait aspiring serial killers>something happens and Leslie also comes back but they end up getting together romantically Or>they’re making a movie about Leslie Vernon and the true story of how he set all the stuff up to become a killer and the relationship between him and her etc, it’s obviously very inaccurate, Leslie comes back to start killing them Haven’t been able to read the comic because it’s so expensive and nobody has scanned it but I assume it’s based on the sequel script that wasn’t made
>>204779572Ok, let's see. Horror movies with a good ratio of quality to nudity>The Wicker Man>Lifeforce>Tenebrae>Torso>A Bay of Blood>Re-Animator>Chopping MallOr any Edwige Fenech giallo, just pick one
>>204780216Based kinose appreciator.
>>204775802I really enjoy how weird this movie is. It's a mess, but it's fucking weird in the best way.
>>204780670>It's a messespecially the ending. wouldnt wanna be the janitor that day
>>204773750I like it a lot. The first 15-20 minutes of the sequel are pretty good too. Too bad it goes to complete shit right after though.
>>204780602Beautiful profile, beautiful nose.
>>204777020>I'm gettin' too spooky for this shit...
Why do people not make giallo movies anymore? A slasher+murder mystery+tits+psychological horror sounds like something that would absolutely print money in this day and age.
>>204780105the opening sequence is fun and GTApilled
>>204780085There's no new Goosebumps!
>>204781347Didn't they reboot it at some point, or was that are you afraid of the dark?
>>204781302Last Night In Soho was basically this, except for the tits
>>204781302Well, in Italy it's because the italian film industry has been dead for a good 30 years now.
just watched Troll (1986)really fun movie with cool creature puppets. i really liked the different apartment residents - even though they each got just a little time each, their different apartment decorations and personalities made them like cartoon characters which added to the storybook feel of the whole thing.torok was a cool villain and the old witch was a snack. the song was cooli am glad that harry potter saved my urban capitalist utopia from the threat of eternal life in a magical naturalist hell
eerie and pretty with some nice creative kills, but it's just a cheap zoomer imitation of the classics. It needed some soul, better music, a cute lead, and a nice pair of titties. If it had those things, i'd be singing its praises. as of now, it doesn't even measure up to Hatchet.
>>204781302there's the editor if you count parody
Any fans?
>>204781766This one was good, but I do feel it felt too “modern” for what it was going for. If it was actually directed and shot in a way that gave it a 70s pulp feel, then it would have hit a home run as far as being a send up of the genre goes.
>>204781846yesgreat daniel baldwin movie
>>204781302People just want straight up violence. Why do you think the Terrifier franchise is so popular?
>>204781846I think this and Ghosts of Mars are the only Carpenter movies I still haven't seen
>>204782006Check it out for sure
>>204782006Do a double bill, they're both disguised westerns.
>>204781944It definitely seems that way, but that’s why slashers often don’t hit the same notes with me as giallo does. The main reasons I love giallo are the kino direction and aesthetics as well as the twisty, crazy plots where half the fun is trying to figure out who the killer is. A lot of slashers seem to just dilute giallo down to the gore and tits, which I think results in them losing a lot of the nuance that giallo films had. Yes, giallo films were pulp, but they were artsy pulp.I loved slashers like Alice Sweet Alice and the Toolbox Murders, which are clearly imitating the giallo style though.
>>204782026What's dumb is I own Vampires on VHS, but I have no way to watch it....>>204782038That's a good idea
>>204774405Why would you watch this garbage
Fuck it I’m watching Army of Darkness again. It’s been like 7 years at least
>>204782127There's always the alternate cuts too. There's at least 4 versions of it to watch
>>204782279I’m not sure which version I’m about to watch. It’s an hour and 36 minutes. The couch smells again so I’m back to watching on the other tv..
Thoughts on this aliums movie? It says there is no dialogue and home invasions by aliums always seem like a spooky setting.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcA02w6rm44https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcA02w6rm44
>>204782419>The couch smells>again
>>204782444the aliens were cool. i didnt much like the ending or whatever message it was trying to hamfistedly convey, but the aliens were cool.
>>204782419>The couch smells againWell if you'd stop farting on it all day long....
>TodayÉtoile>24thThe Vampire Lovers>25thLust For a VampireTwins of Evil >26thCherry Falls>27thAlucardaSuspiria remake >28thEyes Without a FaceLemora>29thThe Beyond City of the Living Dead>30thPhenomenaThe Company of Wolves>31stSuspiriaThis is the plan now.
>>204782649>Eyes Without a FaceThis one is surprisingly disturbing for a movie from 1959
>>204781302How come people think giallo is some sort of special genre? You know in Italy it's interchangeable with the term "slasher" right?
>>204782419That's the director's cut. Some scenes run longer, including the battle scene, and other scenes use alternate takes compared to the theatrical cut, including a totally different ending. Most people prefer the theatrical cut
>>204782667Is this a giallo?
>>204782006ghosts of mars was fun to watch while drunk
>>204782444i enjoy
>>204782667Eh, not really. “Giallo” covers a crazy broad spectrum to the point that it has sub-genres within the sub-genre. Some are closer to slashers, while others are more straight up crime/detective thrillers. The generally agreed upon definition of giallo though is that it has to be a whodunnit murder mystery that has horror elements and nudity. In this respect, it’s a clear genre of its own. That’s not even mentioning the fact that it has its own unique tropes independent of slashers like killer POV shots, bottles of J&B Whiskey everywhere, prog/jazz inspired soundtracks and the fact that most killers wear black gloves as a rule of thumb.
>>204782649Nice. The only reason I’m also not closing with Susssiria is because I’m watching it three times next week
>>204782444Gem
How the fuck are ya'll not talking about the latest RLM joint?
>>204782626Sounds like a fucking bummer in the end.Maybe I can watch most of it for the atmosphere.
>>204782982
>>204782633I hardly fart at all anymore. I actually have to strain extremely hard to fart or piss. Something’s amiss with my pelvic floor or prostate. It’s more of a locker room/musky smell. I wash every square inch of my body twice over with two different scents of body wash every day and I always do my exercising first thing in the morning so I can shower before my ass plants itself up here so idk where the fuck this smell is coming from. >>204782679That’s good to know. It seems I always end up watching the directors cuts of movies. When I watched Little Shop of Horrors I didn’t realize it was the directors cut and I have still not seen the other one.
>>204782982Because /hor/ is a better friend simulator than RLM.
I just watched Late Devil Night and I liked it. It is cool. Short and sweet. I am putting Longlegs now straight away.
>>204782982You are scum if you support and pay money to these one trick ponies like Fandano and RLM.
>>204783195He cute!
>>204782982Tried watching them once and they seemed like unlikable assholes that mostly talk about Disney slop. Especially the main guy? Whoever the fat clean shaved one is. I don’t see the appeal at all
Gonna make a new thread.
>>204783295Seems like a good enough idea
