First for The Ticks
Don't mind me, I'm just waiting on 4k remasters of:>Bay of Blood (1971)>The Fly (1986)>Day of the Dead (1985)>Inferno (1980)>Frankenhooker (1990)>The Blind Dead series (1972-1975)>Braindead/Dead Alive (1992)>Bad Taste (1987)>The Devils (1971)>Manhunter (1986)>Phantom of the Paradise (1974)>The Prowler (1981)>Masters of horror (2005 - 2007)>The Deadly Spawn (1983)>Elves (1989)>Carnosaur (1993)>The Serpent and the Rainbow (1988)>Cube (1997)>The Keep (1983)>Blood Dolls (1999)>Cast a Deadly Spell (1991)>Maximum Overdrive (1986)>Night Flier (1997)>Near Dark (1987)>Shadow of the Vampire (2000)>Stage Fright (1987)

>>204783390>Inferno (1980)
Surprised there's not any movies based on the old wive's tale about Earwigs.
>>204783390>>Near Dark (1987)I hate situations like this where they released a decent blu-ray in 2009, it went out of production, and now you can't buy it anymore unless you went to spend $50+ for a used copy.I understand when a boutique label sells out and it goes OOP since they often license the films to distribute a certain amount of copies, but this is MGM releasing their own movie, and they just choose not to sell it to people.
So apparently it's "National" Horror Movie day.
>>204783393Ha! I remember buttholeanon thread with Pepe censors. Many lols were had.
I hate when the weather is sunny near Halloween, or anything but gloomy and rainy

>>204783330>InfernoHonestly I was pretty disappointed by this movie. Suspiria and Phenomena are both much better. I still need to watch other Giallos and Argente flicks
20 minutes into Doctor Sleep and I already like it better than Kubrick's The Shining.
>>204784275Do I need to have read the book to watch it?
>>204784263How can you not name the movie?
>>204784301No.
Now this, I like.I want more of this.
>>204784301I’m a funny sort of way it helps because it gets a bit meta and almost acts like book and movie (of the shining) both happened. You don’t have to have read doctor sleep though, although it’s pretty good if you like your Kingslop. Watching The Shining and Doctor Sleep is a good time. Then do the tv miniseries. Then get some rest.
>>204784323https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4520364/goofs/
>>204784301I doubt it. I was going to ask if I need to have remembered anything from The Shining (this movie is a sequel) and it doesn't really seem like I do.Sidenote: I really wish they didn't ask actors to do "the Boston accent" when they're in Stephen King movies, or any movie for that matter. Don't know why characters in every other movie that takes place in every other state can have a generic American accent but when it's in New England they have to fuck everything up. First two characters we meet in New Hampshire sound like they have Southern accents, like what the fuck??
There is no reason to watch Doctor Sleep except for Rebecca Ferguson.
>>204784449That's a good enough reason.
>>204784381>>204784337I don't like Kingslop. Something about the way he writes is very unappealing. I liked The Shining (movie) though so I'll check out Dr. Sleep
>>204784449this but also the two new dune movies which I will never see because even the lovely rebecca ferguson can't balance out timmy the rat faced jew and zendaya the hideous mutt
>>204784471I quite like his earlier (coke fuelled) stuff myself but you do you. It’s dumb fun so have a beer and see how you get on. Rebecca Ferguson is absolutely worth it if nothing else. Make sure you let the thread know your thoughts; we’re all in it together
I like to enhance the atmosphere of my kino watching by lighting candles
>It wasn't until after the success of Scream (1996) that Miramax Films bought the script and rushed it into production. >Bob Weinstein and Harvey Weinstein brought in Kevin Williamson to do rewrites, keeping the basic story, but rewriting the dialogue and adding new characters to make it more "hip".so they added all the movie reference dialogue between the goth girl and frodo right?
>>204784568Based
>>204784568Do you use plain candles or scented ones? If scented, do they have rotting flesh scent candles?

>>204784903Those are pretty neat candle holders. I should get some.
>>204784896Lol it was great wasn't it? I went into it not knowing he was in it and had like a full 10 - 20 second double take like "Is that fucking Carlton??" He didn't do too bad of a job either for an early 90s wannabe street thug type character. Night and day from the Carlton character. The actor is actually quite good.
Just watched Mandy for the first time, what does /hor/ think of it? I thought it was mad fucking boring, Cage was good, but even then, the kills fucking sucked too.

My friend and his wife are watching a horror movie every night this month and sometimes I like to go over and watch with them. They are casuals and have not seen most of the classics, so it's fun watching with them for their first time. Last night we did The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and they were blown away, they really enjoyed it. I wish I could feel the feeling of seeing some of these movies again for the first time.

In terms of "edgy found footage made by evil documentarians " which seems to be a micro genre, this is by far the best. It's actually tasteful and artistic.Cannibal Holocaust and August Underground are garbage

Any headless horseman movie besides Sleepy Hollow
This was probably one of the better Stephen King movies that I've watched. Mike Flannagan did a great job of taking that habit that King has of having too many characters with too many storylines and whittling it down and making it work. Granted, he still needed 2.5 hours to do it. And I'm not going to say it didn't feel like a long movie but it definitely didn't' feel boring at any point. It was interesting to see how he reshot so many of the scenes from The Shining and really made it work. I'm a fan.

Spooktober 23/31Watched Ghostwatch (1992)Thought they used the style of mockumentary extremely well. The story behind the airing and the many complaints they got makes it even better. I liked the characters and it was well made, it's a little rough due to the age as newer technology could have done a lot more with the effects. That being said it's pretty unique from what I've seen so far and definitely worth a watch8/10
