I watched the best horror movie released this decade and no one in these threads have mentioned it once
>>
Man, Smile was pretty underwhelming. Its too long for the story it tries to tell, there's too many dream sequence cop outs, still falls back into the "horror as a metaphor for trauma" shit, and many of the actors just drop the ball.
Which is a shame since there's still some good parts to it like the music, the actor that plays Rose does a good enough job with the material she was given, and I also didn't think they'd have the balls to have the dead cat at the birthday party. I can't believe I gave the series a chance with their marketing.

It's fun, just like Mr. Crockett, both from Hulu
Nothing outstanding but feels sincere what with so many horror movies trying to pretend to be more than the schlock they are, also effects are mostly practical too like Mr Crockett
The movies are just cheesy horror fun, simple as, though Mr Crockett is a bit more serious
Also kinda strange Hulu is the only one I see putting new Halloween movies

imagine having to be Ashton Kutcher as the husband to 61 year old Demi Moore on set for this scene like
>Damn honey you still got it, you fine as hell with that tight ass. I would totally have sex with you if I were in this scene and in real life
when all he really wants to do is fuck another 16 year old in his dressing room.
Like seriously imagine having to be Ashton and not only sip his coffee while Demi flaunts her disgusting flabby body in front of you, the favorable lighting barely concealing her stretchmarks and leathery skin, and just sit there, take after take, hour after hour, while she perfected that look into the mirror.

everyone on set tells her she's STILL GOT IT and DAMN, Demi Moore LOOKS LIKE THAT?? because they're not the ones who have to go home and get into bed with here, chomp on 3 blue chews just to get your sausage stiff enough to snake it in and keep that couger money coming to pay for your blow habit.

You've never even seen anything this fucking disgusting before, and now you swear you can taste the sweat that's breaking out on her dimpled pancake of an ass as she sticks it "out" to writhe suggestively at you, smugly assured that you are enjoying the opportunity to get paid to sit there and revel in her "statuesque (for that is what she calls herself)" beauty, the beauty she worked so hard for with personal trainers in the previous months. And then the director calls for another take, and you know you could kill every single person in this room before the studio security could put you down, but you sit there and endure, because you're Ashton fucking Kutcher. You're not going to lose your future political career over this. Just bear it. Hide your face and bear it.

>Day 23: Vampire Bloodlust
Weird movie. This isn't an anthology film, it's a clipshow. A collection of little five-minute vignettes, each of which feels like a scene from a different movie. The description calls it "Jukebox style". Whatever. The little clips are shot well enough, there's actually some real good costuming, but the effects are shit and not in a lovable way. Most importantly, I can't really give a shit about any of these out-of-context scenes getting thrown around. A lot of hot chicks get naked, so that's alright. Overall, I don't like this movie at all. In fact, I didn't even finish watching it. Maybe I'll finish it later, but I probably won't.

Recommending picrel
It's great. Some mental asylum patients break out and start killing people around the town. They eventually trap a family inside of a house and it becomes a sort of Assault on Precinct 13 type movie. The actors who play the main few killers give surprisingly good and memorable performances , and it features Donald Pleasence.
It has no relation to the video game or the shitty Uwe Boll films of the same name, don't worry

Watched Argento’s Trauma tonight. Not a terrible movie but a far cry from his older output. Just a bizarre and uncomfortable experience.
>set in America
>no Goblin soundtrack
>first nude role for his daughter who was 16 at the time
>awkward romance between her and the lead actor
>Asia apparently cheated on her Italian boyfriend and fucked the lead actor IRL as well as a musician and an electrician (lol)
>Asia’s character has anorexia
>Argento’s step daughter who shows up to randomly dance in the end credits had anorexia IRL and died a year after filming
>Brad Dourif only shows up for like five minutes
>lead actor randomly buys drugs with a fake prescription for some reason
>somehow a baby gets accidentally decapitated by a doctor during birth
>Argento uses a pseudonym in the end credits
>Tom Savini’s name in the end credits is “Toni Savini”
Fucking Italians man. I should have had a negroni or two before watching.

Relative normie watcher here. 2 hours of spooky movies on Netflix everyday while I use an exercise bike, but the selection is kind of eh

Watched
>Scary Movie (rewatch)
>Scary Movie 2 (rewatch)
>Scary Movie 3.5 (only saw 3)
>Black Mirror (only White Christmas, season 3, and USS Calister were rewatches)
>Shaun of the Dead (first "proper" watch)
>Hereditary

>Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil
>The Addams Family (first proper watch)
>Addams Family Values (first proper watch)

>Goosebumps (2015, rewatch)
>It: Chapter One (rewatch)
>Nope
>Sinister (rewatch)
>Sinister II
>Old
>Insidious
>Insidious: Chapter 2
>Insidious: Chapter 3
>Insidious: The Last Key (currently on)

I was surprised Insidious was so... underwhelming. Like it's fine I guess, but I expected something more. I'm just watching stuff with an October season vibe at this point, but is there anything that's ACTUALLY really good on Netflix? I'm limited to it as a platform at the moment.

And this is something I've been wondering since it came out, but is the first Paranormal Activity decent at all? The whole market got oversaturated after it, but I always figure it was just some fad movie that would likely be underwhelming. I say this as someone who really likes The Blair Witch Project.

Thinking of watching the three Fear Street movies I see. I knew of the books when I was a kid though I never read them, and I know it's R.L. Stine so it's not like I'm expecting something huge. I really like atmosphere and seclusion, particularly from pre-2000s horror.

its a normal thing to do in your early "moviewatchingcareer". having a top ten of any sorts also falls in that category, because movie viewing is highly mood and atmosphere reliant. you watch the right movie during the right time of day and the right day of the month/year where it just fits your currently attuned emotional level, its instantly enhancing the experience. last week this day, it was a full moon and a single mention of it shifted the threads "taste" for the night and lots anons got moody for werewolf kino. what i want to say is, movie watching is not a job or a list you just work off, it has to be fun and there is ways to get there if you follow the flow/your gut.

I'm a borderline richfag so this is how I watch my /hor/ since you all keep asking :)
I've got subscriptions to:
Prime
Shudder
Netflix
Max
Hulu
If whatever movie I want isn't free on one of em but will be a pain in the ass to torrent (and I assume it's decent), then I'll rent it on Prime. If it's recent and I know there will be a ton of seeders then I'll grab it that way. Simple as.

that's about it in that one from memory. though there's much hotter shots of chiaki kuriyama running around.
I did watch a j-horror anthology not long ago that had some succubus molesting a kid though lol.

should of been a 15 minute short in an anthology flick
>>

It's more quirky than anything. Strange, but it all feels like it goes together, not just weird for weird's sake. It's very good.

How’s that borderline rich, I pay for streaming too lol
>>
>>204800251
>pain in the ass to torrent
Torrents have by far the biggest selection. PtP has more movies than all streaming services combined, retard.

Also
>implying paying for streams is cool

Why do Italians have such fucked up minds?
>>
>>204800276
Yes I have that as well but also more money
>>204800287
You don't pay as much as I do and if you did then it'd be a larger percentage of your net worth
>>204800303
This post looked like it'd take to long to read so I skipped it because time is money

Poorfag dribble

Look. I'm simply the best at watching horror kinos and that's why I'm rich.

For me it's that and the whole detectives being the protagonists thing. It's like combining a shitty mystery with the worst police procedural of all time, I don't know how people can watch them. And I can't think of a single regular slasher with a mystery killer that's actually interesting besides maybe Sleepaway Camp and Cheerleader Camp. The original Friday the 13th too. But that's really it.

Halloween V was as bad as I remember. Please tell me Curse is at least better than Revenge, because I've never seen it.

Why do the
Americans?
Russians?
Germans?
Mexicans?
Haitians?
etc
>>
>>204795407
It's okay anon, I also think it's pretty underwhelming and the best parts of it are the shots, lighting and locations
>>
>>204800389
curse is good if you like violence. not so if you like coherent movies.
>>
>>204800389
Curse is worse in every possible way but its sort of comfy as a background slasher.
>>
>>204800407
Ok good to know. Will still watch it, but from now on it'll just be 1, 2 and 4 for Michael Myers movies.

alright, this is the final film in my Puppet Master Marathon, (main entry) film number 15.
will this defy logic and be a masterpiece? I'm about to find out.

Why even bother 1 or 2
>>
Any kinos similar to the book House on the Borderland by William Hope Hodgson?
>>
>>204800422
also make sure to watch the theatrical version. the general consensus is that it's better than the producers cut.

I've only seen 1-5 and curse of the puppet master, the rest really don't seem worth watching
>>
>>204800488
kek guess I'll watch some youtube clips.
>>204800496
you're not wrong, but you should watch Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich. For whatever reason they spent 2.5 mill making a high quality one out of nowhere.
