I thought it was suggesting that people don't love each other as they really are, only the image they have of how they want the other person to be. Rather than work through their marital differences, they both ditch each other as soon as a "perfect" version of their spouse comes along who acts exactly they way they want. And if you're the child of parents like this, good fucking luck to you, because they care so little abour you that once they have the moment they obtain thing that gets them off taking up their attention, they will discard you like an old sheet soaked with doppelgänger cum. Being the child of narcissists is literally apocalyptic and worse tha

15 minutes into Evil Dead (2013 remake). So far I'm ok with the changes. Going to the cabin makes more sense now (Yes, I know there's a lot of cut footage from the original about that shows it was not just a get together for having dinner and hiking around the woods).

I wish they would stop fucking with the titles and leave the original "Evil Dead" without changes. The only reason I have the remake is that I was in a hurry and I thought I was buying a double pack of Evil Dead 1 and 2, before remembering that each one has a different title here.

Finishing up Zombi 2, how are the sequels? They look like they get goofy and silly as they go along.
>>
>>204892431
Saw it last year. Was impressed.
>>204892396
I've been watching some lesser known giallo. My last ones were Baba Yaga (1973. T-Cut and new Director's Cut. Great movie. One of the few times a D-Cut made decades later doesn't ruin the movie. The director kept to his original vision and didn't try to reinvent his own movie) and The Embalmer (1965 B&W. Decent movie).
>>204892407

Don't watch the sequels and tv show. They will just ruin the original for you.
Tarantula (1955) is good if you like older B&W movies. Clint Eastwood makes a cameo at the end as a fighter pilot. There's more to the movie than a giant spider. There's some body horror too.

Thoughts on the Fear Street Trilogy?
I'm rewatching it for Halloween and I just got done with 1994. The whole romance plotline with the black nerd and the two drug dealers was kind of weird, especially since he didn't seem older than 13 and the Asian/Hispanic girl seemed to be 16 or 17. And I guess she had an open relationship with the white guy who was her boyfriend?
Thinking about it more, I'm surprised that more people haven't moved from Shadyside to anywhere else in the country or county. It's not like they're bound to the area and there's clearly something wrong with the town. How often were the massacres happening?

Just finished this. It was a lot better than I expected. I would probably rate it on the high end of found footage films, particularly recent found footage. From reading posts on /hor/ I expected the fact that the main character is an anti-mask chud to play some central role in the actual horror concept of the movie and it didn't (thankfully.) Annie's (the main character) chudness was played quite well. She was depicted fairly as a real person who existed during the pandemic and there was no real commentary or editorial on whether the film creators approved or disapproved of the type of person that she is. As far as the actual plot and concept execution, it was done well for a found footage film. The pacing was great as it didn't waste time getting to the development of the core of the movie and gave us action pretty early on. And the action was delivered pretty consistently once it got started right up until the end of the movie. The gore and effects were adequate or good throughout, albeit relying a lot of shaky cam and quick cuts during and around a lot of the real money shots. I have to give props to the location selections as well. A really successful part of what made this movie keep my attention was the fact that they were constantly changing locations and the last half of the movie had 3 - 4 specific locations that are perfect for setting mood for a horror.

Watching this, I was thinking about the "types" of found footage that we mostly see. It seems like most fall into one of two categories: 1. A fairly uneventful first hour that sets up lore with perhaps one or two glimpses of what may come in the payoff, or 2. This type of movie where they get to the action pretty quick and keep it going to a larger finale. The 1st type obviously lacks in action (in my opinion, to the films detriment) while the 2nd type can't deliver on the richness of the lore that the 1st does but doesn't necessarily feel like there's a critical lack of lore.
(con't)

(con't)

I prefer the 2nd but I wish there was a way that filmmakers could make up for that deficit in lore. I think of movies like As Above, So Below in this 2nd tier as well. Perhaps there's not. I don't find Dashcam nor As Above, So Below "deficient" as movies in any respect in light of this category. But perhaps there will be a filmmaker that creates a 3rd option for found footage that somehow bridges the gap between the two.

I was definitely someone who was concerned for the safety of my fellow human being during the pandemic and I actually thought she was a pretty fun and "likeable" character. Her constant rhyming was hilarious and her never-say-die spirit was perfect for a main protagonist. I'm sincerely baffled at how someone could think she was "meant to be unlikable" without either injecting their own personal bias or by being a self-hating chud. Every chud line she delivered I've either read or heard first person from an anti-mask/vaxxer. Multiple scenes were pulled almost line by line, scene by scene from real YouTube videos that were filmed by anti-mask/vaxxers of themselves during the pandemic. I'm guessing that you saw Civil War and thought that that movie was definitely biased and tried to paint one side in a bad light, as well. I simply can't fathom it. Are you a chud? Were you an anti-mask/vaxxer? If so, why do you hate yourself. These were literally your people, to the "T."

The crystal lake memories bio of the films says the director of 5 was a former porn director and when the producers showed up on the first day they were bewildered to find him shooting this scene as a hardcore porn scene, actual fucking

The director was on the side yelling "fuck her! fuck her harder!" And when the editor asked the producer what the fuck he was even supposed to do with that footage he was told to "make it look like a Pepsi commercial" and that's what you see in the film

The covid shots never stopped transmission of the virus and Fauci even came out and told you morons this in 2021 when he told you to mask up again. You act like saviors of the human race when the vaccinated were just as likely to contract covid and spread it to other people. It never stopped transmission of the virus. Anti vaxxers knew this, you just keep pretending it isn't true to justify takin some shit that never worked in the first place

Don't know where you live but here the news is constantly 'dumb niggers shoot/stab people. Oftentimes dumb nigger was trying to shoot/stab different dumb nigger but bystander was hurt/killed in the process' followed almost immediately by 'government wants to import more dumb niggers and jeets to strengthen our nation' and 'we must give all of our tax dollars to israel because we are seeing an uptick of hideous genocidal college students protesting that lebanon and palestine shouldn't be bombed'. It's pretty depressing.

Watched Scream 5. It was okay, but too much of the same. The first 4 somehow had their own vibe in each instalment. This one felt very generic and there was a really long stretch of time when you didn't see any of the other characters so when they got killed later you felt nothing or didn't even know who they were supposed to be.
The reveal was the worst part. The killers and their motive was really badly handled so it felt flat for me.
Also, the legacy character's death was very underwhelming. I'm gonna watch 6 next.
I also saw Trap. I liked it, but it was a one man show. Without Hartnett's acting it would have been a generic serial killer movie even with the concert premise.

>The funniest thing about this is that both sides will claim this means you're on their side
My take-away was that anti-maskers did not hold that as a primary position. Their primary position was the protection of "freedoms." The majority of the sentiment that I experienced from going to work every single day, in person, during the pandemic from my co-workers who didn't wear masks was that "it wasn't their problem" or some tier of the interpretation of "survival of the fittest." I'm not saying that those people advocated for death or illness or attempted to harm people in a non-passive way (although a tiny few did), but it's a clear falsehood to claim that the side of the anti-maskers was to save people's lives. I'll grant you that anti-vaxxers, in the beginning, had valid concerns about the safety of vaccines. So I guess we're split on that matter. However, you are the person who injected "sides" into this argument and I only used "Anti-maskers/vaxxers" or "chuds" because that's how many have self described. And that's why I earnestly asked you if you self identified as such.
>I wouldn't know I'm not really watching antimasker videos lmao
Maybe you didn't, but you were aware enough of the reactions of those people to affirmatively substantiate that the character of Annie was depicted accurately. Yet you still chose this response to deflect. Why?
>kek, okay you're just shitposting
How so? Many of those people viewed themselves as a contingent and self described as "anti-vaxxers/maskers." And we were all witness to the fact that people like the character of Annie were acting this way and very few of that contingent spoke out on this behavior to attempt to vindicate the dignity of people on their "side." We're having this discussion on 4chan. To attempt to deny that last statement of mine is beyond laughable.

Babadook had a jump scare approx 49m into the movie.

Go back and read this again. I choose my words very carefully. You seemed to have glossed over text that followed this.
>I didn't say whether it's accurate or not, it seemed a caricature
I'm confused on how something authentically accurate to real life could be described as a "caricature."
>so as to not piss off actual antimaskers.
Was this a typo or misstype of some sort? Why would antimaskers prefer a caricature over a genuine depiction?
>regardless, this is not horror discussion
But it is. At every post we've linked our investigation into authenticity back to the movie in whose authenticity we are questioning. It is very much on topic and rather necessary for this or any horror movie.
>If you don't see annie was made to be annoying
I don't. I don't see how the accurate, artistic representation of a real thing could somehow take ultimate responsibility for the aspects contained within the preexisting object/thing/person's accurate depiction. One of art's goals is to create perfect, mimetic facsimiles of existing being(s.) This was done well in this movie. If you are finding this "character" to be annoying then you must be one who found self proclaimed anti-maskers/vaxxers to be annoying. Which is why I asked you if you self-proclaimed that same identity because... well I think you know why.

I think an anti-masker/vaxxer who was sincerely concerned with the preservation of life would have preferred an accurate depiction of themselves over a "caricature" that seemed to "unfairly" represent them so that they could write it off. It sounds like you don't think very much of these anti-mask/vaxxers if you think that that would be their preference.

Violent crime increased in America you know:

"When the FBI originally released the “final” crime data for 2022 in September 2023, it reported that the nation’s violent crime rate fell by 2.1%. This quickly became, and remains, a Democratic Party talking point to counter Donald Trump’s claims of soaring crime.

But the FBI has quietly revised those numbers, releasing new data that shows violent crime increased in 2022 by 4.5%. The new data includes thousands more murders, rapes, robberies, and aggravated assaults."

And you don't get to decide by yourself who is or isn't allowed in your country. It's called a democracy. Either run for office or move to someplace that suits your authoritarian needs.

>there is no real way to tell that time is passing, it mostly feels like a long night rather than 30.

Yeah that was weird for me as well. Every time it suddenly jumped ahead like a week I was just thinking “so what? None of these people got attacked within these past 7 days and they just sat in this one spot doing nothing”? Like the other anon said, maybe it was just an editing problem or pacing issue

Why didn't Terrifier 3 come out on Christmas if it's a Christmas movie? Check & mated.
>>
>>204901674
It doesn't ruin the film for me but it is definitely a detraction. It does that same fast editing, low frame rate jump cut stuff that Pandorum does during it's action scenes. It was very "contemporary sleek" for the 00s and it's unfortunate because there's a more beautiful, cinematic way it could have been executed.
>>
>>204903772
because if it comes out in October they get Halloween money, and if they put in on VOD in December, they get Christmas money. Fucking moron.

Who did it better? Resident Evil 3 remake is really fun so far. I think Nemesis is cooler but Mr. X was scarier

It did exactly what it was supposed to. It was the greatest transfer of wealth in history, consolidated more wealth at the top to the major companies, got the small businesses shut down, and proved just how fucking easy it is to control half the country.

I went through a phase of watching loads of recently released horrors while working night shift years ago and they all sort of ran into each other.
I vaguely remember one where the main character (can't remember if it's male or female) goes to a house for some reason (maybe look after a kid or some something). and the house is beside a lake or some shit.
Turns out there's a cellar under the house that's full of water and there's some kind of water snake demons or some shit that were the kids' ancestors or something, I don't know.

Did I just make this up?

Resident Evil 2 did it way better. 3 2020 was fun to play, for sure, but it was lacking in various ways.
>Nemesis wasn't a threat, at all, because he was scripted, buggy and used slow, telegraphed attack in open spaces.
>Best bestiary of the franchise but way too underutilized. 2 dogs, 4 frogs, only one place with the blood sucker, what a waste.
>Most of the environment were lacking, some of them were three corridors with four enemies (the sewers, electric plant). Even Raccoon City felt underwhelming.
>The pacing was bad. Sure, it's supposed to be "The Last Escape" but the game covers two days of action, there was time to develop some of the places a bit more. Look at the hospital.
>Some visuals features were absent. No dismemberment for the zombies...
This gimmick did its time, Capcom shouldn't bring back the stalker mechanic in IX (Dimitrescu was one too, this was stupid).

This game so far feels much more action oriented than 2. It throws ammo at me like crazy(I’m not complaining) and there’s lots of action set pieces that while feeling very scripted and impossible to lose usually are still tense and fun to me. Sometimes the game goes a little overboard with the hand holding by having yellow spray paint and yellow tape on areas you’re supposed to go.

I like how it just has one central route instead of making me replay it like 2 did, but isn’t this game much shorter? I just made it to the part where you’re playing as Carlos in RPD, about how far am I?

It's around 6 hours long if you try to explore a bit. It leans more on the action side of the franchise and drowns you under ammos and healing items, though the original 3 was the same (I finished the 1999 game with 150 magnum rounds, in hard). I would say you have completed one third of the game, maybe a little more.
I would also recommend to try the higher difficulty next.
