I want comedy and fun back in zombie films. I want my protagonists enjoying themselves after realising society has collapsed and they have no responsibilities anymore and indulging in whatever leisures they see fit, I want to see them throwing pies in zombies face, I want to see them being tripped up with tripwire, I want a parody of the Scooby Doo hallway chase scene with the Benny Hill theme playing. I hate that every zombie film now is usually some depression edgy woe is me bullshit, or babies first existentialism stuff.
Where is there left to go after the Spookifier franchise, bros? It really is just depraved sadism, best reserved for underground stuff the normies won't touch. Maybe you can depict some rapes but that's about it.I really think horror is doomed that these dumb retards that grew up during the "gore is scary" phase are making movies like this now. Nothing at all is being left to the imagination and all you can do is give up on the genre or wait for lobbyists to shut it down for a few decades and let stuff like Scaremotron 3 fade into the background long enough to be something people only pretend they watched.

Halloween is a dying holiday at this point. There are holidays that can be celebrated equally on a communal level as well as a more personal level (involving family and similar relations) such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day, etc.; and then there are holidays which are celebrated primarily on a communal level, such as Halloween. We can observe this by the fact that the primary "celebratory" aspect of Halloween is the custom of trick-or-treating, which is ceasing to exist. Community breakdown, lack of safe neighborhoods, etc. has lead to trick-or-treating being restricted to tighter social circles and in some areas practically eliminated. The people carrying the tradition along are doing it with practices such as "trunk or treat" or Christians who reject the holiday engaging in some sort of harvest festivities. The holiday is propped up at this point by haunted house attractions and horror movies. I don't think even Halloween parties are much of a thing anymore. This is probably a good thing, little kids dressing up like Satan and going around begging for high fructose corn syrup isn't really something defensible to begin with.

>>204985320>claude was autistic enough to memorize entire scriptsliterally /ourguy/
>>204994049>thinks halloween resurrection is better than the saw sequelsYes, problem?
>>204994200It's funny you mention Halloween's North American decline whereas countries around the world, especially China and Japan, are embracing it.It's mainly because white people are being replaced with brown people who don't want to assimilate and partake in the customs and traditions of their host countries that they only want to turn into new versions of whatever shithole they came from!!!FACT!!!
>>204994281>The documentary Trespassing Bergman (2013) mentions that Ingmar Bergman had a tape of this movie in the movie collection at his home on Faro Island.based Bergman coomer
>>204994354Oh black people participate. For example if you leave out a bowl of candy they'll have their little goblins run up and grab the entire bowl and run away with it.
>>204994200>Christians who reject the holiday engaging in some sort of harvest festivitiesHalloween is Christian. You're forgetting Ireland wrote half of Christianity. St Patrick's Day, St Brigit's Day and St Blaise's Day, St John's Night, Michaelmas, Halloween, plenty of Christian holy days are just Irish people wanting to get drunk and eat cake while setting shit on fire.I mean, St Patrick's Day being in the middle of Lent should have been a sign half the religion is loopholes of an alcoholic.
I really like the Terrifier franchise, and Art the clown is the coolest horror character ever. Go watch Terrifier 3 if you want pure kino !!!FACT!!!
>>204993039Night of the Comet is a Christmas movie, I always save it for that month.
>>204994380Also, this was Anthony Head, Rupert Giles in 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in a very small role
>>204994049i'd rather watch H:R than any saw besides 1 and 2 so yeah
>>204994444There's a difference between something being created by Christians and something being aligned with the tenets of the religion, which is part of why the Reformation occurred.
>>204994474Kek, I love that Head was the original magician in Johnathan Creek and when conflict with Buffy arose, they replaced him with someone else and kept heavily implying his character had enough work done it wasn't even a continuity error.
>>204994550>Protestant is the only Christiankek ok sure buddy I'm sure all the horror movies are gonna want to use your aesthetics for an exorcism or black mass
>>204993560The 2 Zombieland movies pulled that off. Night of the Comet too
Night of the Comet is just feminist Omega Man
>>204994651>>Protestant is the only ChristianI don't believe I said that.>I'm sure all the horror movies are gonna want to use your aesthetics for an exorcism or black massFrom my experience most media seems to use some nonsensical amalgamation of Christians as a whole that doesn't make much sense. I was watching a movie the other day that was clearly trying to caricature fundamentalists but had they doing shit like making the sign of the cross, for example.
>>204994592>Johnathan Creek
>>204993943absolutely
Even with just one guy frantically posting and replying to multiple comments (you'll recognize his style in several posts above) this thread took a while to move ahead
>>204994780>No, by Reformation I meant something other than ProtestantsThe bit about the shitty movie you watched is word salad too. Watch more horror and you'll see the heavy reliance on Catholic aesthetics, but otherwise talking to you is just babby's first shower thoughts.
>>204994782The Britishers know how to make a comfy amateur sleuth murder show. Alan Davies is a detective in one of the ITV Marple adaptations too, Towards Zero.
>>204994960"Okay"
