Oh shit lol thread reached cap while I was typing, reposting in case anyone is thinking of watching this nothingburger movie

>watch don't move for the hot ass fake injun girl
>nice nipples first 2 minutes
>nothing afterwards
>barely any sexo breathing scenes
>it's really all about the annoying faggot guy spouting bullshit to stupid people that should be suspicious of him
Disappointing but her small tits with perky nipples are peak. You can stop watching after she gets out of bed. The guy is annoying and a bad actor. The other characters in the movie are all retarded. Movie 3/10 fake injun girl 8/10 I want to have sexo with her so bad. She needs to get real full frontal nude soon.

Rewatching horror movies CAN be pretty kinosauric, but it's a mixed bag because some of them really hinge on certain details being withheld from the viewer, perhaps moreso than other movies. But as someone who is just a guy who has rewatched some /hor/ror movies in my time, I can recommend rewatching a movie from time to time. Pic related, I watched Dagon for a couple of weeks in a row every night, to fall ass leep.

>>
I'm sure this has been done to death but I just got around to doing The Terrifier at last. I has seen All Hallows Eve a few years ago, after The Terrifier was out but without knowing the association. I thought it had some genuinely creepy ideas but the production was pretty awful.

The Terrifier is the same. Art could be a good character if they leaned more into the Freddy Kreuger aspect of him, ie that he's having fun with what he does. There were no characters though. You're not cheering on the victims because they have no personality, they're just throwaway vessels for the kills. You don't cheer on Art like a Jason Voorhees type because he's not fun, he's nasty.

The tone was a bit uneven with Art being that kind of silly character and the neon red blood gushes, but with the occasional closeups of injuries like they editor is an edgy kid who just saw Guinea Pig.

I really didn't get it at all.

Then I finally watched Green Room which was excellent.

Today I'm going to check off a couple of classics I've never seen, The Exorcist (I generally shy away from haunting/possession because I can't take it seriously having seen Beetlejuice too often as a kid) and Rosemary's Baby.

Just watched terrifier 3. Did not disappoint. As always, that clown actor is literally the entire movie. He is such a good clowning clown. He's so funny. Some disgusting gore, some very funny scenes. My biggest laugh was the sausage slapping but the quick intro with jack nicholson axe tribute was very funny too. The plot kind of dragged near the end and I was expecting gabbi to decapitate him not what actually happened with the exorcist re-enactment. If the brother is actually dead that's kinda shitty since it was offscreen. I thought the brother wasn't dead until I made this post but I just realized the uncle did die so he probably is. Maybe they'll re-unite in hell with gabbi as a ghost guide to his sister or something. Also, sienna was a little too sexy in the film, i know it sounds gay but her ass and titties were very distracting and took me out of the film. they really didnt need to make her outfits so tight and formfitting
>>
>>205095744
Yeah, I have a lot of pending viewings still. Maybe I'll finally watch Hereditary to see what the fuss is about. The Shining scares the shit out of me, mainly not for the "supernatural". I believe there's no real ghosts in the movie and everyone is just going crazy. That makes it way scarier imo. Also just the point of the film being about an abusive husband tormenting his family gets more under my skin. Jack's performance is top notch.

My only gripe is the music. 80 percent of the scares just come from the music, and it feels kind of cheap in my opinion. Wish there was a horror movie that didn't use music, much like something like No Country for Old Men.

sorry to hear that, anon. you never know how things will affect you if you havent experienced it personally. it might be a little bit of a stretch, but i bonded with a dog for the first time last year and since then i cant watch anything sad related to a dog, like the futurama episode with seymour. literally makes me bawl like a babby. either way, cronenberg movies are all very medical and sciency, so it adds a little more realism to the whole thing

Yeah, I was actually thinking while watching it how good it looked. It wasn't crazy with the colors like a Bava film or something like that, but the colors were just so strong and well-used, compared to the washed out bland slop we mostly get these days. Weird how much that's changed over the years.
>>
>>205098635
I get that, but I meant more in the dialogue sense, where everyone is doing everything they can to sound like the coolest person in the room.
>>
>>205098580
"Scary" is very subjective. The Cremator's scenes where characters are lured so as to be killed are very sinister- they were filmed in an actual morgue- and some images from The Phantom Carriage are quite nightmarish

Powell co-directed w/Pressburger some of the most visually gorgeous movies in the history of cinema: Black Narcissus, Red Shoes and the horror adjacent Tales of Hoffmann (one of Romero's favorite movies)
>>
Where do you draw the line between a thriller and a horror?
>>
>>205098837
Subjective bug thrillers are more predicated on realism
>>
>>205098837
easy answer: paranormal and normal
hard answer: theyre the same but also not the same.
>>
>>205098653
It's helped along by them working in TV (and the scenes of relatively grey British back streets) but I do wish all the jewel tones made a comeback from the era. It's in a lot of early giallos/horrors as background, I still recommend Femina Ridens for the 1960s smart house which looks more in tune with human use and more fun than any smart house any techbro is shilling now.
>>
>>205098904
*but
>>
>>205098837
I consider things like horror, sci-fi, fantasy, etc a theme and drama, thriller, comedy, etc a genre so I don't.
>>
>>205098837
We've discussed this before. Thrillers are from the POV of someone hunting down a threat, horror is from the POV of the victims.
>>
>>205098580
If Faust doesn't scare you, what does?
>>
>>205098832
A lot of these have new prints doing cinema circuits too. I got to see Black Narcissus and Red Shoes at the same cinema I saw Peeping Tom. Red Shoes is visually amazing, one of the first movies to show you could do stuff in cinema which would make stage effects read even better, it's weird to think it came before Orpheus.

There are several exceptions to both cases as well as mixes between both in many thrillers and horros, it doesn't really sound like a serviceable standard

I'm thinking about giving the DGG Halloween movies another go. I really liked '18, and I didn't hate Kills or Ends nearly as much as everyone else evidently did. I personally kind of like the idea of the evil inhabiting Michael being some sort of unspecified parasitic malevolent entity with a will of its own that seemingly feeds on death in some capacity, becomes more active on Halloween, and when the host is no longer viable, it transfers to someone else, and has potentially been doing this for countless generations. That's at least my take on it.

When I was a kid, HBO was doing a free weekend on our cable at one point, and I'm assuming it was sometime in October, because they were showing horror kino like The Blob, Monster Squad, and Hellraiser 2. I thought that The Blob in particular was cool as hell, so when I was spending the night at a friend's house and we went to the video store, I told him we had to rent The Blob, and we unknowingly grabbed the Steve McQueen original, not knowing at the time that the '88 version was a remake of anything.

I just remember putting in the tape, and being like "What is going on?" when that theme song kicked in.
