>Friday the 13th 6>Jason lives>Nightmare on Elm Street 6>Freddy's DeadWhat did they mean by this?
I'm sure this has been done to death but I just got around to doing The Terrifier at last. I has seen All Hallows Eve a few years ago, after The Terrifier was out but without knowing the association. I thought it had some genuinely creepy ideas but the production was pretty awful. The Terrifier is the same. Art could be a good character if they leaned more into the Freddy Kreuger aspect of him, ie that he's having fun with what he does. There were no characters though. You're not cheering on the victims because they have no personality, they're just throwaway vessels for the kills. You don't cheer on Art like a Jason Voorhees type because he's not fun, he's nasty. The tone was a bit uneven with Art being that kind of silly character and the neon red blood gushes, but with the occasional closeups of injuries like they editor is an edgy kid who just saw Guinea Pig. I really didn't get it at all. Then I finally watched Green Room which was excellent. Today I'm going to check off a couple of classics I've never seen, The Exorcist (I generally shy away from haunting/possession because I can't take it seriously having seen Beetlejuice too often as a kid) and Rosemary's Baby. >900 second captchaWhat in the fuck is happening to this site

Just watched terrifier 3. Did not disappoint. As always, that clown actor is literally the entire movie. He is such a good clowning clown. He's so funny. Some disgusting gore, some very funny scenes. My biggest laugh was the sausage slapping but the quick intro with jack nicholson axe tribute was very funny too. The plot kind of dragged near the end and I was expecting gabbi to decapitate him not what actually happened with the exorcist re-enactment. If the brother is actually dead that's kinda shitty since it was offscreen. I thought the brother wasn't dead until I made this post but I just realized the uncle did die so he probably is. Maybe they'll re-unite in hell with gabbi as a ghost guide to his sister or something. Also, sienna was a little too sexy in the film, i know it sounds gay but her ass and titties were very distracting and took me out of the film. they really didnt need to make her outfits so tight and formfitting
>>205095744Yeah, I have a lot of pending viewings still. Maybe I'll finally watch Hereditary to see what the fuss is about. I watched Midssommer during a midnight showing on Halloween three years ago and ironically I liked much better the showing of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the 50s one) that came right before.

>>205094004The Shining scares the shit out of me, mainly not for the "supernatural". I believe there's no real ghosts in the movie and everyone is just going crazy. That makes it way scarier imo. Also just the point of the film being about an abusive husband tormenting his family gets more under my skin. Jack's performance is top notch. My only gripe is the music. 80 percent of the scares just come from the music, and it feels kind of cheap in my opinion. Wish there was a horror movie that didn't use music, much like something like No Country for Old Men.

>>205098837Subjective bug thrillers are more predicated on realism
>>205098837easy answer: paranormal and normalhard answer: theyre the same but also not the same.
>>205098653It's helped along by them working in TV (and the scenes of relatively grey British back streets) but I do wish all the jewel tones made a comeback from the era. It's in a lot of early giallos/horrors as background, I still recommend Femina Ridens for the 1960s smart house which looks more in tune with human use and more fun than any smart house any techbro is shilling now.
>>205098904*but
>>205098837I consider things like horror, sci-fi, fantasy, etc a theme and drama, thriller, comedy, etc a genre so I don't.
>>205098837We've discussed this before. Thrillers are from the POV of someone hunting down a threat, horror is from the POV of the victims.
>>205098580If Faust doesn't scare you, what does?
>>205098832A lot of these have new prints doing cinema circuits too. I got to see Black Narcissus and Red Shoes at the same cinema I saw Peeping Tom. Red Shoes is visually amazing, one of the first movies to show you could do stuff in cinema which would make stage effects read even better, it's weird to think it came before Orpheus.

>>205099382AH is a horror movie, those are secondary aspects. It doesn't have jumpscares thoughYou could go for something like Mothman Prophecies as well. Or The Caller which is wordy but intriguing.Or simply watch Stranger Darling, it looks great and it's overall enjoyable >>205099382Unless the sexual chemistry is gone, make a move while you're watching it. Making out at least should be a foregone conclusion
Jesus Christ, I thought Ghostwatch was gonna be a dumb tv movie but it's really fucking good, I got legitimately creeped out in parts.
>>205099409Thanks, but I've already seen them all :(>>205099363Looks meh but I'll go with this one if I can't find something else. Thanks, anon.
>>205099565It has lots of background details that add to the overall effect too
>>205099281>>205099312Lol okay kids sorry I didn't know the distribution for the home release
>>205098772>This but replace Dashcam with Deadstream.I like both but prefer Dashcam
>>205099565If you're watching carefully you can see the ghost at various points, like in the background
>>205099550We never really had much sexual chemistry. To be honest I want her gone so I can find someone else. I don't want to have sex with her, it would make the situation linger even longer while probably hurting her (not with my dick lol). That being said, thanks for the suggestions.>>205099460Already seen, sadly.
I'm thinking about giving the DGG Halloween movies another go. I really liked '18, and I didn't hate Kills or Ends nearly as much as everyone else evidently did. I personally kind of like the idea of the evil inhabiting Michael being some sort of unspecified parasitic malevolent entity with a will of its own that seemingly feeds on death in some capacity, becomes more active on Halloween, and when the host is no longer viable, it transfers to someone else, and has potentially been doing this for countless generations. That's at least my take on it.
>>205099578>>205099670I noticed them all, but I'm talking about the atmosphere, specially in the last 15 minutes. Glad I finally got around to watching it.

>>205099788Already seen them, but thanks :(>>205099747Never heard of that one, I'll look into it!
>>205094137I finally watched the Texas Chucksneed Massacre for the first time last night for the 50th Anniversary rerelease after hearing about how it's the GOAT horror/slasher movie for years. The humor wasn't lost on me, but it's gotta be the best use of props in a horror movie.>>205098207The witch was so hot in that movie.
>>205099725Late Night with the Devil and History of the Occult are both on a similar wavelength if you haven't watched them
>>205099460When I was a kid, HBO was doing a free weekend on our cable at one point, and I'm assuming it was sometime in October, because they were showing horror kino like The Blob, Monster Squad, and Hellraiser 2. I thought that The Blob in particular was cool as hell, so when I was spending the night at a friend's house and we went to the video store, I told him we had to rent The Blob, and we unknowingly grabbed the Steve McQueen original, not knowing at the time that the '88 version was a remake of anything. I just remember putting in the tape, and being like "What is going on?" when that theme song kicked in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzHDvzGmmw0

>>205099114The Hidden, but it's more thriller / sci-fi really
>>205099836I watched them both and I liked them, but I had no fucking clue what the hell was going on in History of the Occult.
>>205099965Nice, I'll keep it for other occasions.
Are you loved today?
Here's my list for this October.
>>205100312great list
I’m watching the first Urban Legend sequel and it’s worse than I thought it would be with expectations supremely low. How the fuck can you unironically set a movie like this in a film school
>>205093986Happy Halloween, niggers!
>>205093986>>205094038>>205095325Thanks. Not enough people share free film on /hor/.
Watched Kaidan hebi-onna. Japanese Ghost story, but the hebi-onna [spoiler[is a trick of the ghosts, i was disappointed[/spoiler] More about wealthy bad, peasent good commie shit from 68's. Enjoyable at some extent. 6/10
>>205099975HotO is overly cryptic indeed and the last 3 minutes or so elucidate elements of the plot in a vague way: what was the last word said by that guy? Ka...? And everything we'd seen up to that moment took place in a parallel reality where Argentina had kept sovereignty over the Malvinas/Falklands islands etc
>>205100621last shoot was beautiful tho

Should Speak No Evil have subs for all languages? English and Danish is subbed but the Dutch isn't. At first it seemed this was correct be ause it was from the visitors perspective but I'm not so after Agnes is told what to do at lunch.

>>205095749I'd say Rosemary is actually pretty scary. A lot scarier than most horror films I've seen. But you have to be able to empathize with her, can be hard for autists.
