>star trek sex with shran?
Star Trek: Sex with ShranPremiering 2026 on Paramount+
>>214383703Was anything interesting announced for Star Trek Day? New collectables, throwbacks, anything to acknowledge when the series was good?
i dunno it's just like, if I was Archer, I would have seduced this man. i like the way he treated women. he shut down Tarah who was challenging him without being over the top about it and still looked strong. and he made Talas and Jahmel feel safe and loved when they were scared and vulnerable. therefore: sex with shran. in case any of you were curious as to the workings of my mind
>>214383923NopeThey made some kind of Paw Patrol shorts but called it Star Trek
>>214383933Yeah I just saw that. It’s neat how they’re trying to get tail end Gen Alpha/Gen Beta into the franchise. But just throw some TOS on for your 6 year old. They’ll love it.
>>214383933>>214383960it's sad how kids can't have their own shit anymore. it's always IP slop from shit their parents liked when they were kids.
When are we getting a Michael Burnham and 7 of 9 (Picard era) buddy space cop Star Trek comedy? 7 is the serious one who plays by the rules but is VERY promiscuous with the ladies. Michael is a loose canon but saving herself for the right gal. It's also a detective noir where we get competing voiceovers for different perspectives. There's also no men in it. Release date when?
What is the Star Trek equivalent of this drink?
>>214384001Oh there’s stuff being made for children. But It’s all AI Slop that will actively shrink their IQ.
>>214383703Lego $400 Star Trek ship coming
>>214383703This is a good thread.>>214384025Lmao dude do you not live in america? We have loyal 9% lemonades here. This guy to answer your question tho.
>>214383703Paramount hires YOU to shepperd a new Star Trek universe from scratch, unlimted budget, movies and shows and to build new fans. What do you do?
>>214384025
>>214384045A LEGO scale DS9 model would be dope.
Baseball playoffs start soon except for my white sox
>>214384081the first thing I do is put the entire IP on ice for at least 10 years.
>>214383703>Nu Trek fucking sucksIt has its moments.
>>214384111Yes it would
>>214384139nah, do something in this timeline
>>214384200I hate prequelfags so muchStar Trek is about the future. It goes forward, not back.Post-VOY is the only way.>but everything has been explor--So make the show extra-galactic and now you have more or less infinite things to explore
>>214384220what if they made a star trek that had stuff about the "edge of known space" or like "heat death of the universe" and really far-out shit like that. that's why there needs to be actual science fiction writers involved in trek again. these current gen tv writers have no fucking imagination.
>>214384200Did they just have a bunch of spare TOS film costumes laying around Paramount that year?
>>214384307The TOS writers loved the concept of "center of the universe" or "the edge of the universe", things like that. You didn't see those kinds of stories in later Trek.Trek has always been on the softer side of science fiction though. It does have its moments where it really pushes sci-fi concepts but it's always been more about the human stories in that setting rather than the scientific rules of that setting to me.
>>214384357Go back and watch the TOS movies and look at all of the extras they have in uniform in some of those segments and you realize, yeah, they probably did have a shitload of them sitting around.
>>214384381>it's always been more about the human stories in that setting rather than the scientific rules of that setting to me.the science fiction is the setting in which you tell the human stories. they are supposed to be going where no man has gone before. well ok they're in space. get fucking creative about what is actually out there still new for a human being to experience. that's the whole point!
>transports Troi's entire underwear drawn to my quarters again whilst she sleeps, then ports them back once I'm finished
>>214384482Why do that when you can have space comedy and references to older (better) series?
>>214384556This week: will we create new retarded lore retcons to explain why Spock stands shirtless sometimes to show off his muscles?
>>214384025>What is the Star Trek equivalent of this drink?Kanar. It's not so strong to knock Damar on his cloaca. But it's got a kick.
>>214384573Flaunt it if you got it.
>>214384549>The Binars episode but it’s underpants gnomes who steal small objects to power their ships
>>214384045words can't describe how mad I am at Lego for pay-wall-ing at such a steep pricecan I get a $50 set with a few torsos so I can make my own figures? you know, play with? kinda? it is a toy, after all...Nope! Any anons remember the Vidiians?Me neither but its sad they were unsuccessful in killing Neelix.
>>214384830Of course I remember them, they're one of the coolest and most underused races in all of Star TrekIt's criminal VOY didn't use them more
>>214384786>>214384801Die mad uguu~
>>214384849Don't think their makeup budget would stretch that far.
Do you guys think we'll ever get a Star Trek show that understood the IP and respects its legacy instead of the lefty star wars knockoff slop they've given us since the reboot movies?
>>214384850I was at a anime-con years ago. This guy was creepy as fuck. Asking a group of girls back to his hotel. They were 14. Fuck knows how Vic managed to escape a prison cell.
>>214385005The closest we've got is The Orville. Other then that, no. Because making something we actually like would mean admitting they where wrong, which is impossible for them
>>214385005Yes. Just through the law of averages, they will accidentally produce a good show somehow if they keep churning out crap, or they'll get themselves replaced, etc, and eventually... yeah.
>>214385005No.
>>214385005It's airing right now
>>214385012Vic has been creeping on middle schoolers ever since the OG FMA dub blew up in the states over 20 years ago. He also made lewd comments to his costars but Funimation execs looked the other way. The good news is Sony gutted the entire company a few years ago because of their reputation for stories like this.
>>214385107So glad I never watched dubbed animeI was a snob about dubbed anime even in like 2001, kekgot a DBZ box set on VHS at a flea market in jap with subtitles and used to call my friends pleb for watching the dubs and still being on the freeza saga
>5 inches? That is insufficient.

Can Odo have any penis and/or vagina?
>>214385192I do wonder how many gallons of cum I could throw around in the holodeck in my free time after shift before someone notices
>>214385012>Fuck knows how Vic managed to escape a prison cell.Shadow President and Eyes Wide Shut Orgy Choreographer, Vic Mignogna, is extremely well connected. Rich and powerful thousandaires owe him favors. Moreover, he is a master of disguise and carries $52.50 in cash at all times to grease the right palms. He is the puppet master executing The Plan. The next step of The Plan is the Great DS9 watchalong on Heroes and Icons at 10PM ET/9PM CT. The Great TNG watch along begins this week at 9PM ET/8PM CT. Maintain vigilance. Trust in The Plan. >>214385230He can't have mine. I'm using it.
>>214385231I meant going to The Doctor rather than the holodeck.Really, the amount of plastic surgery they've shown and its quality in the show, being able to make Picard or Troi Romulan, how great the Order did turning Kira into a Cardassian, or Dukat into a Bajoran, etc, plastic surgery would probably be very common... or, would it? Does it contradict Federation values too much, to be so tied into vanity? It'd be an interesting topic for an episode if handled correctly. I do think plastic surgery is a real societal problem for us right now so addressing it through Trek might work.
>>214385341>It'd be an interesting topic for an episode if handled correctly. >>214387632Bajorans = Native American JewsCardassians = Nazi Southern Slave Owners
>>214387782>Clinton eraSo that would be post-Soviet collapse, who were the main benefactors of the PLO & Arab secularists. the PLO was out of money at the time so they were forced to acquiesce to some extent. But overall they gained a lot, and lost very little so it was a net gain for the PLO You can link between the collapse of the USSR, and the whole Middle East moving under American stewardship pretty easily.
The GREAT /trek/ DS9 Watchalong is BACK!In one hour let's gather together to watch Kira chuddie out on some nasty eczema psoriasis aliens!
>The writers had difficulty in finding a uniqueness to the Skrreea, before deciding that their skin would flake. Ira Steven Behr commented "There's something just disgusting and intrusive about an alien race that come and leaves bits of themselves on your table and on your glasses".

to be fair, the bajoran noses look extra ugly after this trend of wrinccal fat removal
>"I originally read for the role of Quark," says Max Grodénchik, previously seen in the Next Generation episodes "Captain's Holiday" and "The Perfect Mate." But Grodénchik thought that the reading went poorly. "I was so depressed that I went out and sat on the steps at the Gower Street walk-in entrance to the studio. And in a little while Armin came out and befriended me. He said 'You know, I think it was between you and me for the role of Quark.' And I said 'How do you know?' And he said, 'Well, we were the only two short people there.'" The pair went on to discuss all things Ferengi, with Shimmerman mentioning the planned character of Nog, and the fact that he'd heard Nog would have a father. Shimmerman suggested that if Grodénchik didn't get the role of Quark, that Nog's father might be a nice part. After Shimmerman was cast as Quark, Grodénchik says, "Armin actually recommended me for Rom, and they gave it to me."a real human bean

>>214390294VP8. Old webm so I probably used webm4retards which is just a ffmpeg gui with avisynth script features. I switched to VP9 handbrake a while back since it gives more predictable bitrates and plays nicer with DS9's weird dvd stuff that desyncs the subtitles. I try not to overthink it and just set the settings to VP9 10-bit and veryslow presets and it usually takes like an hour to encode a minute of video but the result is usually as good as I could expect.
Course: Oblivion has got to be one of the most depressing episodes period.

Voyager used CGI, right? Why isn't it in HD? Is it because some of the effects were still analog?
>>214390566oh its just the DVDs. I think their bitrate is twice that of what you can get on streaming. With some decent upscaling in the video player and you can get something that looks perfectly fine on modern TVs if you ask me. Main problem is stuff like extremely aggressive noise because of how dark the general show is which means they had to film with low sensitive film which just had more noise regardless of what you do. I think that if Paramount tried to remaster the entire show they'd fuck it up by trying to use digital noise reduction.
>>214390621lmao>>214390648wasn't shot on film like tng was

>>214390678then its not a remaster, just an upscale. Pedantic semantics yes but the entire point of a remaster is that you actually go find the original negatives and create a completely new digital master scan and perhaps even completely new film prints for archival purposes.
>>214390766DS9/VOY are basically two shows interlaced. Film and SD CGIA remaster would be very intensive work but an upscale would be feasible
>>214390464I always wondered, why not replicate some body armor if you're facing Klingons? It won't stop energy weapons but it'll keep you from getting stabbed to death.
>>214391058Everyone has the belt force fields from TAS
>>214391058It has nothing to do with Klingons, but don't the marines in Enterprise wear body armor?
>>214390700Paramount still has the actual negatives and used those. They could start doing the remaster tomorrow. The difference is that for a documentary they can just handpick specific scenes and pick specific segments of those and scan that. A guy picks up maybe two dozen reels from the archives and finding the scenes in those and scanning them. For a complete remaster you're looking at scanning about a million feet of 35mm film negatives and going over each frame one by one to find scanning defects. Each episode is like three or four reels, assuming they're edited together as a complete episode, which they're not. And then they have to render all the CGI again and edit in all the CGI onto those negatives. The fact that anyone does this with old shows at all is honestly mindblowing. Paramount-Skydance would probably have to be merged with Amazon or Apple for there to be a budget to do this with voyager and deep space nine.
Thoughts?
>>214391303As Trek podcasts go I've only listened to the Delta Flyers, the Shuttlepod Show and Open Pike Night.
>>214391319>Open Pike Nightnever heard of it
>>214391193And even for the doc. it still cost a considerable amount, it was a stretch goal from their fundraiser
One of the biggest issues is that the film is completely unorganized. They have to rescan all of the film, organize it and then re-edit everything back together to create an episode. That means they get a lot of unused footage and also have to constantly reference back to the TV broadcast to even figure out how everything was edited together.
>>214391303>>214391319For me it's V'ger Please
>>214391464Couldn't you just pay like 3 editors 200k a year to slap that shit together? That'd be pretty low budget. How much can it really cost versus updating something to their streaming library?

I kinda like how early Enterprise feels like a cross between Trek and Firefly.
>>214385737Didn't they bring back the Sphere Builders in one of the TNG movies? I remember Worf in a silly EVA suit with a SNES Super Scope on one, I think. They're also a major part of the plot of multiple acts of the STO story.

I caught an episode of Prodigy when I was up late drinking, and I'll be damned bros, it was actually a good episode of trek. Most of the alien kids seemed fairly annoying, I probably happened to catch the only bearable episode, Janeway got like 75% of the screentime. I won't spoiler anything but it was the episode Time Amok
>>214392200you "caught" it? is it on cable or something? even if it was why would it be on "late"? are you embarrassed to have seeked it out to watch on purpose or something?
>>214392049Ah, shit, you're right. At least there's a couple books and the previously mentioned STO plots, which make them basically entirely responsible for the ability to quickly reach the other quadrants.

>>214392236The Canadian Scifi channel plays Trek until like 3am on weekdays, and on that day the episodes were off by a half hour one day for whatever reason and they filled in the half hour gap at the end with an episode of Prodigy.

>>214392480I've watched through multiple seasons of Lower Desks, I don't even mind that show, but this Prodigy episode absolutely mogged the shit out of everything I've seen from it. Kind of embarassing desu
>>214383703Saw this hypocrite jackass nig out on the ancestry reveal show when he found out his great uncle or some sh was white. Fuck Geordi.
>>214392200Yeah I've already seen Time Amok. It was a clever Star Trek conundrum episode. I'm currently about halfway through season 1 on Prodigy. On my fucking long ass "watch all the star trek" chronological viewing journey. Prodigy is aight. Lower Decks was aight. Not looking forward to seeing Picard again or seeing STD seasons 3-5 again. Prodigy is pretty much the last aight Trek of the entire journey. And yes, aight is a scientific rating. It's just above meh and just below decent.
>>214391319What would you recommend? So far most trek podcasts I've seen are basically "we review each episode series by series and discuss how problematic they are now"
Guys, is it wrong to want to fuck T'Ana?

>>214392665I'm on the episode "Masquerade" and they brought back Ronny Cox as Jellico for a cameo (he's an admiral now) as well as Billy Campbell as Okana (he's still just a space pirate)
>>214393718Oh neat I just checked IMDb and apparently Ronny Cox is in a fair number of episodes. Fun. I still rate the show as meh but it's cool seeing old characters again.
Remember when the Dykeheads flipped out and trashed the place because Prodigy had a decent mid-season finale that /trek/ thought was okay?
>>214392286So many goddamn drummers onboard, the Enterprise needs a handicapped sticker.
>>214391303Avery Brooks should do one where it's just an hour of schizo ramblings tangentially related to the subject at hand.
>>214391193I think they announced they lost money on the TNG remaster, and that was all shot in 35mm, from the sets to the miniatures. "All" they had to do was a clean digital transfer of the old film, then redo the old video VFX which is pretty easy with modern computers then cut it all together to the same time codeYou could understand why they'd be unenthusiastic about a project that would also require not only the same amount of work as TNG for all the 35mm footage and video FX, but also then paying to recreate all of the pure-CG scenes from the later seasons, from scratch, to the exact split second without any of the assets or programming, for a ratings disappointment spinoff, when they lost money on a much easier transfer for what was the #1 show when it was on the airYou could probably sell them on an AI upscale, and within a year or so that might actually be pretty good if you had high-def photos of the actors and ships and etc to train the models on, and then just have them upscale the old video

>>214393748Prodigy was turning into a decent Star Trek toon at the same time Lezzie Dykes was busy with its lesbian plots.
