I thought the latest Alien Earth episode The Fly was honestly one of the best yet. The story kept things tight and creepy with the little parasite that turned into a full on nightmare and it felt like a real throwback to classic sci fi horror. What really made it work was how the cast played it straight the fear felt real without anyone going over the top and you could see the tension building in their faces and voices. The directing also nailed it with those close shots and dim lighting that made even normal hallways feel dangerous. It had me on edge the whole time and left just enough mystery hanging to keep me pumped for the next episode.

Watching the synths who are usually calm and untouchable suddenly become the most vulnerable characters was both unsettling and refreshing. It also raises big questions about what it means to be alive in this universe since the fly treats artificial life as valid prey. Pairing this with the flesh eating aliens gives the show a balance that makes both threats feel more real and makes the humans stuck between them feel even more fragile.
