VIOLENCE!" a few times over. turns down the gore and nudity for most of the rest of the movie but all anybody talks about is sex or relationships, it's the whole theme of the movie, and actually ends up making sense plotwise.Major spoilers:the killers a brother and sister couple who are in love with each other, killed their parents when they got found out, and now kill vacationing couples out of resentment that they got to have normal relationships. Strictly plotwise gave me Oldboy vibes.

>>214916023Nightmares 1983 is another good anthology. I tend to watch this every October.
>>214916129I believe this was originally made for TV and it feels that way, plus the last stories special effects have aged poorly
>>214916151Understandably, for 1983. Good cast though. Lance Henriksen, Emilio Estevez.
>>214904550It's my favorite film of the last few years, tied with Terrifier 3 and little else. I am a fan of basically everything in it though like it was made for me: ambient j-horror, forests, found footage segments, creepy ghost shit, mysteries.
>>214916003I'm going to look it up on Kazaa rn.

>>214915320>if you enjoy a good formula you're not better than a marvel slop enjoyerThat argument might hold weight if marvel actually had a good formula.
Finally watched this one tonight. I really loved it and I'm actually impressed by the quality of the film as a whole and how engaging the plot is. Well shot too, and I appreciate the understated Morricone score. Sleazebag protagonist getting himself involved in the murder plot because he's a sleazebag is perfect setup for a Giallo in my opinion. I have a question for the people who have watched the film. When Elizabeth is killed, they make a point to show you that she was drowned and did not die in the same way as the other girls. While they say later in the film that she died a virgin, providing a possible explanation for her unique manner of death, I felt as though this may have been a deflection. It seemed clear to me that Rosseni's wife killed her but that it was purposely left ambiguous. Does anyone else agree?
>>214915868more people should watch Nightmare Cinema. I think it's underrated, they even got Mickey Rourke for it.

>>214906736I've always thought they should do an "Indiana Jones and the <insert Lovecraft story>". It's such a good fit.
As Above, So Below was pretty good, especially the ending, tension is properly built and you really feel claustrophobic at parts, also very cool depiction of h-e-double hockey sticks, which we can never have enough of. It was funny though when she had to go back to put the stone back and just speed runs the whole way. Good FF.
