just saw Everett McGill in Silver Bullet and remembered how great he is in People Under the Stairs so i looked up his filmography and it looks like he only acted frok '79-'99 then hung it up for good. fairly small list of roles but good ones. i just wonder why he decided to retire so early, he could be in any horror movie he wanted at any time.

/hor/ guys please I really need your help this is driving me crazy. I watched I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. There are a number of bizarre and confusing things in this movie but the thing I absolutely cannot wrap my head around is this dog. There is a scene where it is just tied up behind a hotel reception desk as if it belongs to the manager but then after this scene it literally disappears for the move. It doesn't get killed later, it doesn't appear later on to save or warn anyone of danger. It is literally gone from the movie. Now there is a scene where the housekeeper randomly discovers blood in her cart of dirty sheets and I thought that might have been a precursor of killings and that the blood would have been from the dog because the scene right before that happens, we see that boat guy get killed by the killer. But it shows those scenes as basically taking place at the same time because the housekeeper is going around at night????? and the killer kills her immediately too so there is like literally no one's blood that could have been except the dog, if it had died. But we never see that. There fucking has to be cut scenes from this movie right? We later see the hotel manager dead in his office and it's not like the dog is there with him. What the FUCK happened to this dog????

Honest thoughts on Night of the Demons 2, 3 and the remake? People only ever talk about the first one
Trying to branch out from being a zoomzoom inexperienced with 70s films, and I thought this was a pretty novel watch. Liked the documentary approach it went with, even thought that did clash hard with the slapstick comedy bits it had. Reminded me of The Untold Story, another film based on a true crime incident and how that also had weird comedic elements.
>>215265325Angie became black?

>>215265351Everyone in the 70s was an evil fucked up pervert so you get a lot of stuff that's supposed to be scary that's actually funny and a lot of stuff that's supposed to be sexy or funny that's hard to watch.
>>215265351I used to really dislike 70s films when I was younger, in part because of the pink blood issue. But I have fully come around to them as the peak. Both the 60s and 80s have more campy/comfy flicks, but the 70s was the decade of the grimey auteur. They were grasping at something more than slashing.I recommend The Brood and Black Christmas as well.

Stuff like The Warriors, Dawn of the Dead, Phantasm, Basket Case, Taxi Driver, Street Trash (parts of it were filmed in the early-80s), Rabid, Evil Dead, Friday the 13th 1-4, Halloween 1-3, Escape from New York, shit like that.

Ok putting on Phantasm (1979). It's a rewatch but seeing others watch it recently has made me look forward to it.
Watched Thanksgiving and dug it even though the Thanksgiving dinner scene was very disappointing. Put me in the mood to watch some more new slashers so going to start Clown in a Cornfield, what am I in for anons?
>>215266803solid list. i should give shaun of the dead a rewatch, it's been years. does Hot Fuzz count as a horror? i always thought it apes Wicker Man and that whole british "weird village" genre enough to be considered horror adjacent..
>>215267292Love the feel of this one. Don also recently wrote a Phantasm anthology which was pretty good.
>>215266985Just cuz you don't agree with the kinotype doesn't mean it isn't real.
>>215267313I would never consider Hot Fuzz anything close to horror anon. 10/10 nonetheless

>>215267368What phenotype do you think they share? I agree some actresses in the 70s had this feathered hair, deep features, big cheekbone look. Kidder has it, I don't think Harper does. Resemblance wise, nose to mouth ratio is their most similar feature. Eye shape and everything is, is different.
>>215267368Such a loser. Sad!

>>215263339Too jewish (woke, brown, and nepo baby infested.)You need someone that can make you believe the people could be you and your friends doing a regular activity getting attacked by some psycho killer
Yo! Has anyone seen Wednesday? Can you give me a basic run down of every episode in Season 1? I forgot where I left off and I don't want to start the series from the beginning. I saw it like 3 years, stopped watching halfway through and now want to get back into it because
>>215267541ummm there's the episode where they go to potion class with snape and then the episode with the sorting hat and then the episode where they drink butterbeer and then the episode where hagrid yells at them for going in his swamp
>>215265416Best one isn't even there
>>215267541All I know are the actresses aged terribly and the show looks wierd now.
>>215263720Unironically, the monsters. > Freddy's powers wouldn't work on them> Jason would be too confused to attack them, would either join them or just be like an animal at the watering hole around them, whereas they would all have the presence of mind to kill him> Leatherface relies on surprise and overpowering weak people, neither of which would work on the monsters > Michael is the only one who has the strength, mind, and determination to attack them all, but he's weak to all of their powers and would be mindbroken by Dracula or the Mummy immediately, or otherwise mauled to death by the Wolfman. Frankenstein is the closest 1v1 but the monster has enough supernatural strength and constitution Michael wouldn't be able to win.Side note: I just realized Michael is basically an updated version of Frankenstein's monster.
>>215267507Made for what phenotype?
>>215267368Simp hands made that post
>>215263720> Freddy is a ripoff of Dracula> Michael is a ripoff of Frankenstein > Jason is a ripoff of the Mummy> Leatherface is a ripoff of the Wolf ManI don't know how I never saw it before.
>>215263720Frankenstein soloes the slashers.
>>215267719I'd say michael i more like the wolf man because he has a certain night he does things and he's really big and strong and cant be killed (sometimes)
