It's strange how Voyager never reveals how Seven takes a dump. Maybe at first her alcove took care of that, but then I assume the doctor guided her into taking a proper liberating dump.

>>215375323You can see the top is tucked under the waist of the pants there. The hemming is simply thin and the image in 480p quality, so it looks like one piece
>watching that "Die Hard on the Enterprise" TNG episode>Picard knocks out Tuvok with a hypospray and leaves him to die in the medical bay from the radiation sweep
>>215375414>You can see the top is tucked under the waist of the pants there. No, you can see it's a top and a bottom literally sewn together into one piece.
are there any really good stand-alone episodes of DS9 I should not miss?Picrelated is what I want to watch when I get a Paramount+ sub for a month or two this Winter. In that order, except I'll start with Insurrection and Nemesis.I loved Star Trek when I was a kid, but stopped watching somewhere in one of the later seasons of Voyager.Haven't owned a TV in 20 years.I hope watching the TNG movies I didn't get to see back then, some TOS stuff I was too young to remember now, and seeing the Voyager story come to an end will provide me with both a sense of nostalgia and closure.

>>215375419Should he have dragged him along? The bombs would have killed thousands, one dead terrorist is acceptable.
>>215375579>Should he have dragged him along? He should have at least told them over the communicator to the terrorists that he left him there. They could either go rescue him (or Picard could have used it as a trap or a diversion). Would Picard have left an unconcious Tuvok with the Darmok monster?> The bombs would have killed thousands, Picard didn't know about the bomb at this point.
>>215375342>Neelix! Stop expressing your anal gland on the bridge!
>>215375536plutotv has tos tng voy ds9 on 24/7 loops. usually a few hours of ent on the scifi channel. TMP through JJshit looped in the summer. and its free
>>215375715they also have the most commercials of any streaming service
>>215375730As if the answer to this problem was ever a debate
>>215375730star trek is literally written for commercials. its better that way
>>215375715thanks, but 1. I'm in Germany and it seems like you can't switch the audio language to English on Pluto2. I don't want to waste time with ads
>>215375429If your eyes don't work, sure, I can understand how you could see it that way
>>215373794thanks. i am 100% new to star trek i don't know a single thing. why is TNG the starter? is that not considered a sequel?
>>215375419Was it this one?I saved this almost two years ago
>>215376145if you like it you will probably like everything else. TOS can filter people and it's not exactly representative of the other series I guess.
>>215376145>. why is TNG the starter? is that not considered a sequel? It is but they get you caught up on the worldbuilding right away. TNG is considered the best starting point because it's more visually modern compared to the stage play presentation of TOS. The acting is also a lot less shouty and flamboyant, which scares a lot of people away from TOS. I started with TNG and didn't have the shadow of TOS looming over every episode.
>>215376145Not that anon, but TNG is easier to digest than TOS since it's more similar to modern TV than TOS, and it's arguably more internally consistent. Don't get me wrong, TOS is great, but a lot of people get turned off of it because it's a 60's era TV production, made by people who were born in the 30's and 40's. It is rife with ham and cheese but also soul.
>>215376145it's the best/most popular show and set the tone for everything that came after it.Start with TOS if you want, but much of it is subpar, and obviously the production quality on a 60's TV show wasn't too great. Maybe go back and forth between them
>>215375419>going through the entirety of trek again>rewatch lines up with another AnonYou know, Quasimodo predicted all this.
>>215376183no, iirc that episode is the one where the terrorists are instantly teleporting themselves through subspace and giving themselves super cancer to try and free themselves from the oppression of their totalitarian nanny state governmentthe die hard episode is the one where a trio of terrorist (more mercenary) operatives are on the enterprise to steal warp plasma or antimatter that was gonna be used in a dirty bomb, or something like that
>>215376214>>215376241>>215376243>>215376254Thanks. I'll give TNG a try.>I started with TNGDid you watch every episode in order or are there fillers etc?
>>215376268ok every1 except JJ trek
>>215376293I'm not him, and generally would recommend watch everything in airing order, but it's unlikelu I'll persuade you, so if you like TNG enough to finish it, you'll likely also be intelligent enough to get enjoyment from TOS and TAS as well, so go for them after, followed by the Kirk movies, then you can follow this guide.
>>215376344saved. thank you anon
>>215376293there are definitely fillers, but some of the best episodes are arguably filler, such as The Inner Light.First two seasons are pretty bad, btw. Maybe someone has a list of eps that are actually worth watching.
>>215376293>Did you watch every episode in order or are there fillers etc?it's episodic, not serialized, so each episode is a self-contained story outside of 2-partersI'd go in order just because the quality of the show improves linearlythere are a few dreadful episodes that I guess you could call "filler episodes", but some of them are so bad that you'd be missing out on some context when people joke about them
>>215376293I'm a completion autist so I watched every episode in order. Usually if an episode is boring you after 10 minutes, you wouldn't have enjoyed the remaining 30 anyway.
>>215376293Don't skip anything your first watch, try to go in as blind as possible. If nothing else, the terrible episodes need to be watched to properly share in each other's misery in the posts here.

All the combat scenes on Trek looked retarded, especially when they make that double-fist punch. They should've just forced everyone to take aikido lessons. Looks flashy on camera (see Steven Seagal movies), is safe and is in line with Starfleet's semi-pacifist values.>>215377233it actually is

>>215377345>>215377453I actually really love that in Berman Trek they kept the same fighting moves used in TOS, ridiculous or not, and made them into like a "starfleet fighting style", a ridiculous martial art all its own. >>215378230are you doing performance art or something then that I don't know about because I'm new? carry on then.

>>215378160Early TOS was really weird with stopping the plot cold for a musical interlude. I know that's just how TV was made back then. Every show had singing because most actors were also trained singers. But it's really jarring to watch in the 21st century.

>>>/ck/21668865
>>215377979M'Ress uses Uhura's VA and is one of the sexiest creatures ever put on the small screen, so for that alone she gets a pass. Even if I set that aside, though, she's still an incredibly good actress and fits the TOS bridge perfectly. On the other hand, any non-Nichols version of her is dogshit. Especially her version on SNW. God damn that show sucks ass.
>>215378449Fat Riker is hot as fuck and Twink Death is a real thing.
>>215378508Posting a Trek reaction image doesn't warrant linking to it in this thread, man.
>>215378410I grew up with TV Land and Nick at Nite. That's why I understand the context for why TOS did what it did. Now when a show has a musical number it's to go viral on TikTok like Wednesday. Also, Bill Shatner could aura farm. Damn.
>>215378546see>>>/ck/21668865
>>215378525I'm fine with all three versions of Riker, as well as his transporter clone, you just can't mix ENT and TNG Riker because the difference in shape is so noticeable it distracts from the 10/10 that is Pegasus.

>>215380541Is it the real Riker or the duplicate? There are two.Their first names are different but they're both in Starfleet.
>>215380541Nothing happened. He needed a cover to not speak to O'Brien and have his cover blown. But speaking of Defiant, here's the song for the slopera.Original genre version (new jack swing): https://vocaroo.com/1c49x4DCRbwpRock opera version:https://vocaroo.com/17F6zuiCnKfi
>>215380541O'Brien was the person on the station that Will Riker knew best, so Tom Riker didn't want to risk O'Brien figuring out he wasn't really William by referring to a specific event, etc.He just invented a reason to blow off talking to him and quickly walked away, leaving O'Brien confused. Not a long-term solution but Tom didn't need long-term, he just needed to steal the Defiant.

>>215380541Tom Riker was suck alone forced to survive by himself for 8 years due to transporter accident, he has held an extreme contempt for transporter chiefs ever since. That wasn't Tom acting as Will, that was his real self coming through. And since Tom/Will isn't a fertile spoony, Miles didn't know how to handle three aggression and meekly left.

>tfw it's monday night
>>215381142>>215381671Humor aside it's a bit more than feeding lyrics in. You can manually edit MIDI stems and layer sound fonts on. There are features ("Persona") that preserve vocal elements (gender, timbre, cadence) as well as key leitmotifs (in MIDI form) of the exemplar song you pulled the persona from. There is also a feature that narrowa the pool of styles to pull templates from, to a playlist you curate. I can use this as a multigenerational selection mechanism to nudge the template design toward the style I want which is why a lot of the leitmotifs are the same between songs (once I've layered the rock opera persona on), so for example the arpeggios in Your Mom is the bassline from Dukat Did Nothing Wrong and so forth. By feeding in success back to the pool and then generating personas based on the songs I like and then feeding that back into the pool, I'm reinforcing what I like similar to a Gen1 neural network. Then I create a genre song from the inspiration pool in whatever genre I want (disco, new jack swing, yacht rock, surf rock, other silly shit) and then I layer the rock opera persona onto it to normalize it with the rest of the tracks. There's that episode of TNG where some crew members were being abducted by clickyclacky subspace aliens and they were in the holodeck trying to iteratively refine what table they remembered, and the method I just described is like that. Covering one song (eg yacht rock) as another genre (rock opera) is dead easy since it's just MIDI stems and you can put whatever sound font you want on it. It's a harp arpeggio. It's a koto arpeggio. It's Swisgar and Toki shredding on grandpas guitars. In that sense the MIDI stem component is easy but the built in studio sucks and is Mario Composer tier.
>>215381892One thing I forgot. It tries to match the melody to the prosody of the lyrics based on the instructions you give it, so sometimes you need to nudge it to be what you're imagining. The yacht rock song with Kai Winn needed a lot of fuckign around with since it doesn't do duets well. There's also multiple fuzz factors in the form of sliders to give it permission to deviate from instructions to produce novelty. I like higher chaos factors for solo songs but lower for duets since fuzz in duets means everyone gets their parts wrong
>>215381633Oh shit I didn't know that.
>>215381935>based on the instructions you give itwhat's an example of those kind of instructions?

>>215376607My favorite DS9, other than that Season 5.5-6 sweatspot where the Defiant roams but Jadzia lives, is those few half dozen gamma quadrant episodes where the Dominion is a rumor only, and they encounter random civilizations and worlds with bizzarro rules.
>>215382781In "The Perfect Mate," after the woman kisses him and he manages to resist her and leave her quarters, Riker taps his commbadge and says if anyone needs him, he'll be in the holodeck while shaking his head and pulling on his collar. The implication is quite clear.
