First for The Ghost Cat of Otama Pond (1960) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtHyWMzzNAU&t
>Although it's obviously modeled on Nobuo Nakagawa's Black Cat Mansion, which has a similar structure of starting in the present day before flashing back in time, I've always enjoyed the opening section to director Yoshihiro Ishikawa's film. It plays almost like a short film and doesn't contain any spoilers for the rest of the film.

The Posession of Michael King
Exorcist tv series
>>
Last Thursday it was Suspiria; tonight I was fortunate enough to catch Tenebre on the big screen, this time for free at a local uni. I forgot just how many people get killed in this one… and to think there are horror fans out there that have the nerve to shit talk Goblin when they always deliver, without fail. Great ridiculous twist at the end too. Everyone's got their favorites but for me, these are Argento's two best films hands down.

If you wanna check out a stranger film with Goblin’s Involvement, try The Bloodstained Shadow 1978, it may be a ripoff of Who Saw Her Die 1972 and Don’t Look Now 1973 but its got some fun stuff to it still, trying to remember which other giallo had the typewriter font or letters be the giveaway but its easy to get, Stelvio Cipriani of Bay of Blood did the score with Goblin instead of only being them

She's obsessed, probably the the point of sexual arousal, with serial killers. She's the logical endpoint of the true crime fandom. Dressing up like the victim is like the female version of Ed Gein wearing a mask of the dead.

not fully ff but Stream (2024) is about a livestreamed deathgame and there are bits that are found-footage-like - footage shot from security cams, or showing comments and emojis and stuff like that. jeffrey combs has a leading role and it features cameos from several horror icons like tony todd and felissa rose. pretty fun

I was hoping I'd like H2O more after putting it off for a number of years but I'm just not vining with it. It's not a bad movie per se but it feels more like a Scream movie than Halloween (they even have a couple of the characters watch Scream 2 in it) and I find Laurie a little insufferable in it

papuans used to hold breasts as the most prized cut from the human body. cannibalism in the pacific islands helped them get fat into their diet when natural sources of animal fat were scarce. so since breasts are like 90% they were the delicacy. also the butt and thighs were supposed to be excellent.

Difficult to say, depends on the breed and its diet. Albert Fish the Gray Man, said that a prepubescent boys rump was the tastiest and sweetest cut of meat but that Japanese cannibal Sagawa said torso/neck meat was the best. I've heard from documentaries that the thighs or breasts are the best according to jungle cannibals.

There was a classic To Catch a Predator-Cop moment where he says something like "you know what spending time with the other boys means to me".

I finally watched Hocus Pocus 2 after putting it off for two or three years and holy shit. It was worse than I could have ever imagined.
>instantly retcon the Sanderson sisters from being child killers to being heckin' misunderstood victims of tyrannical Christian Puritianism
>the main characters are two insufferable, overweight, mystery meat goblinas whose only defining character traits are being smarter than everyone else, especially the dumb men
>the whole film just has an anti-male undercurrent where all boys are mentally retarded
>and the most handicapped boy of all is a dumb jock football player, but he seems to be the only likable character
>for some reason they decided that this film needed more musical numbers, but no one decided to spend any money on the songs or choreography
>the first thing the Sanderson sisters do when they come back is a 25 minute long product placement for Walgreens pharmacies
>the green screen flying effects are abysmal. Total straight-to-VHS tier special effects.
>everything just seems so much cheaper than the original film from 1993
>I think the best joke were the flying Roombas coming to save the sisters from the salt circle
>Billy Butcherson was also one of the only good characters that wasn't ruined, but his decapitation effects were so cheap
>the DEI heroes just so happen to get magic powers because whatever lets just wrap this shit up already
I just feel bad for the actresses. The first Hocus Pocus is such a classic film, and they got them all back together just to make a steaming pile of shit.
>>
>>215454336
I wonder if that was a line in the book which King wrote before he quit drinking and drugs. So he thought "What's the normal amount of times to shit in a week? Probably one I guess." based on his own fucked up digestion.

You'd think a film about someone walking and talking would develop the characters and world more, but no.

Another 3 new movies in the books. Here's my completely pointless brief thoughts on them:

>Good Boy (2025)
I liked it, but the fact the entire thing is just a metaphor for death is kind of stupid. It's not great, but would recommend it as a 5.5-6/10 movie. I have a feeling it won't do as well on subsequent watches, though.
>Spirit Halloween: The Movie
Is it one giant ad? Absolutely. Is it still better than R.L. Stine's Pumpkinhead? Surprisingly, I think so. More of a traditional kids/tween horror movie where there's no threat at all, and it just tries to be a good enough time for those that might be aging out of trick or treating. I'm sure most will say it sucks.
>The Long Walk
Does it work as a character drama? Yes. Does it work as a horror movie? Not really. Do I still like it? Yes, but I'm incredibly bias because I enjoy death/elimination game movies. Just something about the genre that I enjoy. I was confused when there were only 49 contestants, so I assume "the big war" took place prior to 1959.

Last night I watched Talk to Me (2022). It was all right, the entire premise is just too bizarre to take seriously, but it had some spooky moments and some silly ones too. Pic related scene made me creeped out and lol at the same time. I get that it wasn't actually her and it was a nasty tranny-looking ghost making it look like it was Mia to Daniel when he woke up, but from his perspective I feel like he way overreacted at first. Honestly, if I went to bed with my qt altgirl friend and was awoken to her sucking on my toes while rolling her eyes in ecstacy, I don't think my first reaction would be creeped out anger. I think it'd be more something more like "all right, shawty's a lil kinky, but I can work with this." I don't even have jungle fever, but the lead was a qt.
