Alright... hear me out. Yeah, the mommy hallucinations thing is bad. It doesn't work for pretty much all of us that have seen it. But John Carpenter told Zombie to make it his own and no one can say he didn't do that. It's not a color by numbers Halloween movie. It stands on its own and does its own thing. Everyone hates it for that, but if it was just another generic Halloween movie people would say it wasn't remarkable or that it was nothing new. So which would you rather have? Another shitty sequel like H20 or Resurrection, or something new and out of the ordinary?

I respect that Terrifier as a franchise has such a large fanbase, and appreciate what Leone is trying to achieve with Art the Clown. That being said, the production value still comes off as state university student tier in both budget in quality. Gore is always great, but Terrifier's violent scenes just seem like they're trying to be as gnarly as possible just for the sake of being the most gnarly out there, not to invoke any feeling of real fear or discomfort in the audience and devoid of creativity.

>Joe Lynch’s Horror Comedy ‘Buzzkill’ to Star Billy Magnussen & Lulu Wilson
>The horror comedy comes with an amusing premise: 'a small Texas town terrorized by a creature that can only be seen by people who are drunk.'
>It’s described as a mix of A Quiet Place and Another Round, with Magnussen starring as the 'recently widowed and recovering alcoholic Sheriff Red, who launches an investigation as locals begin turning up murdered and dismembered one by one, discovering that the monster feeds on the blood alcohol content of its victims. With the annual brewery festival fast approaching, the whole town is about to get wasted. Red must face his demons and pick up the bottle one last time to take down the monster and save his town for good.'
>Wilson will play Lydia, Red’s vengeful little sister.

Any of the adaptations of that old story about the spiders living in one like Urban Legend 3 and that one ABCs of Death segment.
>>
>>
>>215537375
Yeah. The film came out during the height of the Civil Rights Movement. Having a black lead was radically unconventional for a horror film, even if the casting wasn’t explicitly political. Most mainstream films still relegated Black actors to secondary roles.
It was woke and subversive. Unintentionally, the casting added a powerful political layer. By having a having some black hero survive while many white characters die, or behave selfish resonated deeply with contemporary social tensions. Woke af. The audience reaction in 1968 was intense, especially in the south. Some theaters reportedly refused to show the film because of it and that is based.

Alright, just saw The Shining 1980 for the first time after reading the book and only knowing it from references. It's a solid 8/10, really cool framing and tension building. But I'll be honest, its a pretty poor adaptation that feels like it's randomly shoving in backstory the viewer should of learned earlier, like learning Jack dislocated Danny's arm when he meet Lloyd for the first time!? And Jack Nicholson while great in the horror beats, started off looking and acting ready to snap instead of building to it with little references to his alcoholism.

The tall kid was the only saving grace imo, and even he was terrible in certain scenes.

This movie feels like it's on fucking Ambien and the climax, while it has its charm and cool moments, does not make up for the GLACIAL pacing. However, it's got some nice atmospheric stuff and it has some visual flair and style (directed by the guy who directed F13th Part VI). Worth a watch if you want to watch something atmospheric that's set partly in a cool mausoleum.

Meg Tilly is fucking adorable, good lord.

Probably because it's not actually a Troma movie and just something they happened to eventually obtain the rights to.

Well however was making the special effects did his homework because it's as uncomfortable as watching people getting their body integrity lowered by the use of a rotary motorized blade by beaners.
It's missing some big pockets of fat bursting, something I rarely see in movies, but outside of that it's disgustingly deranged, vicious, sadistic and plain evil.
It's not artistically interesting, the plot is anything but captivating, it's only mean and straight demonic.

and thats a good image of a witch. they just started off being old and weird and then wizard of oz made them green i guess.
this painting is from the late 18th century is based on the 3 witches from macbeth. so the image of a weird looking old crone was around for a long time before they became green i guess.
even without the green, there seem to be few movies that portray the old crone form of the witch. it seems like most show a normal young woman.

There's half a dozen books. The Spiral film is based on the book of the same name. The films, even the remakes, and the tv shows fit in to this timeline being made from the story of Sadako into films and tv series in the simulated earth(s). Sadako infects women who watch her playing herself in her movie.

>Old jewesses
An underutilized trope in horror.

Simply the best horror film. Life-changing.

You're very welcome, fren. In retrospect I should've put Alyssa Milano on the chart instead of Doherty but what's done is done.

Just finished. Fucking hell. Movie made me feel like I just drank a bottle of Tide.
Totally disorienting so-called movie from the director of the exhilarating "Help Me... I'm Possessed!" Feels like it got made up on the spot as they filmed it. A scientist goes to some African village looking for a youth serum. A chief is dying so some black girls take him into a cave, dance naked, he becomes younger, and then they carve his heart out. (???) Back in Las Vegas, the scientist have brought a sample of the serum to the government, who have found a death row inmate willing to let them experiment on him. Before they can, Chinese spies kill the scientist and steal the serum. They crash their car and die, and a passing abortion doctor steals it from the car. He decides to inject himself with it, but instead of making him younger, it gives him super leukemia. Now he needs to drink fresh blood to not die. He beats his girlfriend to death and shoots some random folks having a threesome by a lake. Then he dies in a boat crash and a cop watching says "the curse of the voodoo... they were right!"
It actually makes more sense in that paragraph than it did while watching it

Maybe the rulers of this world are alright for destroying birthrates and making gentiles infertile.
