It’s like a localised cosmic horror movie. I love the extreme close up shot of Sally’s eye where it recalls the surface of the sun shown in the beginning.

I know I'm late but I just got around to watching Black Phone, best movie of the binge for sure. I was watching Aenigma from Lucia Fulci and in the beginning, there is a scene with some handsome jock dude and he is supposed to play the role of some guy that the bullied girl is really into but he is only faking his interest. Thing is, he makes the move on her and she doesn’t look interested and only after, when it is revealed that other people involved in other cars can hear her say>oooo i been waiting for thisssdoes the viewer find out it was supposed to be her interested in him and he was only pretending. Like even famous directors who are supposed to be attractive to girls have no idea about anything. Like in that scene, even though the jock was supposed to not be interested, it was filmed in a way where it looked like she was not interested and playing hard to get and he looked desperate.
