For the past 3 years, I've been writing my own extensive Avatar 3, 4 and 5 and beyond and having seen F&A, I have to say I'm disappointed in how little Jimmy plans to expand the world, the scope and the tone. It's too family-friendly to its detriment, too repetitive with its themes and character. I loved it all the same but Avatar 4 has to be a huge swing.My Avatar 3 was really dark and the Ash Na'vi had been cut off from the other tribes for decades and had gone into the stone age and were like Vikings/Aztecs mixture. I put it all in Docs. Looking back, it was a little too edgy and dark with beheadings, massacres and a lot of other stuff but intermingled with the same Avatar brevity and lightness but given more power through some much-needed grit and darkness. What do you guys think? Should the series stay light-hearted or inject some edge in the next installments for some weight?

I have no idea where anyone's coming from saying 3 was a repeat of 2, the repeat was with the last act copying the first movie. Varang had no idea that the Sullys were in the caravan and the kids were running for their lives. Jake was actually captured and Quaritch betrayed the mission for his son, and Spider was reevaluated as the prime objective after becoming a symbiote. There was practically nothing with the water tribe kids who just get along with the Sullys now and Lo'ak's guilt was a new dynamic. Between 2 and 3 there's not really any repeated beats except that there is a big sea battle and the whales are still targeted for money and to lure Jake out.
