I don't know they don't just send him alone on any combat mission
There was an episode I saw recently where they had to team up with Jem-hadar to kill rebels who were making a portal (which looked to be already finished anyway)
Why even risk your crew, just send the guy who can puddle in and instantly skewer everyone in the room
It would have been fitting too because from their perspective, it would be a god punishing them, everyone involved would have liked it

I'm not a /trek/ regular but I'm getting similar vibes as to the schizophrenic ravings over "geezers" when Picard season 3 was airing. Simply unhinged ranting about geezers and, now, apparently DS9ers as if to obfuscate the fact that nu-Trek is justly hated

This is Jake or Sisko? For me, nu-Trek provokes a sort of disdainful dismay, not apoplectic rage. This, however, is laughable. If it's Sisko, it's totally pointless if you can get Brooks to come out of wherever he's been hiding for 15 years now

I do find DS9 superfans to be quite obnoxiously aggressive in asserting that fact (that faggot razorfist is one of them). For me, I love a lot abour DS9 - I really, really do, but it does lack a certain 'timeless classic' sense that you get with TNG. The TNG class, all the memes about them withstanding, is timeless in a way the DS9 cast is not. Frankly something like 4/5ths of the main cast get mogged hard by the stellar recurring characters, and it failed to stick the landing in s7

TNG was so accessible you could start with a random late series episode and still be able to follow along. It was made during a time where you could go in blind to any show at any part of its run to see if you liked it. But then streaming came along and Hollywood decided every show could only be enjoyed if you started from the beginning like a book or movie.

Posting is absorbing a shock similar to a power clean. The shock is the force of your body weight over the distance of each bounce. If you do this for hours it is going to be an amazing strength endurance workout. Similar to kettlebell swinging. You won't get huge but you will get toned. Ride a horse sometime.

Hey, I googled "riding horse arse", it led me to Reddit, and I read the entire thread, not just a couple of selected posts that look like they support your assertion. (Did you skim over the "no" and "maybe"? Physician, reading-comprehend thyself.) But the next hit is Quora, which on balance also seems to come down on the "no" side. But anyway. You're either brown or you have brown tastes. I'm white and I don't, and I'll never pretend that salivating over "thicc" (fat and/or mannish) thighs and arses is a normal thing for white people and not something that people only started doing a few years ago. There are FOUR lights, dammit.
>>
>>217792830
I can't tell you how to live your life but I gently suggest if you're going to argue with someone over a niche domain subject (e.g., equestrian sports) that you maybe take time to familiarize yourself with this subject rather than randomly punching terms into a search engine and either getting a piss-poor LLM summary or a link to a forum as equally polluted with squabbling as this thread. I've made poor life choices insofar as I've pretty much specialized in sleeping with horse girls (yes, all the stereotypes are true) and the wisdom gained from my youthful indiscretions is that posting tones the thighs
>I am a WHITE NORDIC ARYAN and I only like FLAT ARSES AND NOODLE LEGS
Okay, you do you. This doesn't change the fact you're talking out of your flat Nordic Aryan arse when trying to argue about the merits of posting while riding a horse

The best case scenario I can imagine would be AI animating of fanfic scripts. Written by humans. But even then, you've lost that spark in the actor's eyes. Soulless and plastic. Even worse would be completely AI generated 'sodes. I don't think AI will ever create a satisfying story, weaving in allegory, metaphor or craft a punchline. At least, I hope it never does. Because that feels even more soulless. Computers taking something from us that once only a human could do.

A waste of trips. And I told you straight up that horse riding isn't my scene, but I suspected that "riding horses in a certain style guarantees you'll develop a muscular arse/thighs" was a spurious claim, and the balance of opinion (which you're now dismissing entirely) appears to bear me out. But hey: let's just accept your premise, because I don't care that much either way. My point is that large (anything beyond "toned") arses and thighs weren't considered attractive to the vast majority of white people until (apparently) a few years ago. Because they aren't.

So FUCKING stupid. Locutus of Borg in First Contact and then again in Picard season 3 is what they should have done. The Queens were a fucking awful idea.

Honestly, I tried to read through it. Skimmed it mostly. You listed way too many characters, included too many character traits. I can not remember all that. Most of the 'sode ideas are B-story subplots. At best. If you want you idea to be legible. I think you should just do broad strokes. A handful of characters, archetypical. So they're easy to understand. And then go through a few of the plots you want to do. Just communicate the core of your idea.

For me, my Starfleet Academy show. It's tricky, because a show set in the Academy is the antithesis of Trek. Trek needs swashbuckling pulp-scifi adventures through alien cultures. Can't do that in a classroom. But, my Starfleet Academy show would be Top Gun. Learning and practicing. Taking volleyball to seriously. All ramping up to the end. Last couple of 'sodes in the season where they're sent on their mission.
>>
>>217793574
Yeah, that's a good point, I just got so tired of seeing nu-trek never slow down that I forgot that action and pulp is really important to it too. I'll try to add more episodes like that. And like top gun.
>>
>>217793570
imo the Queen is fine in First Contact since it's clearly a personification of the Collective

Voyager turning her into what amounts to a Scooby Doo villian who shakes her fist at viewscreens when Voyager foils her plans is pretty bad though

Picard's two Queens I give a pass because both of them are actual individuals due to the death of the Collective
>>
>>217793640
It simply does not land for me, anon - frankly even if the Queens were emphatically these avatars of the Collective rather than musache twirling entities that always felt like their own individuals, they aren't as cool on screen as a Borg Patrick Stewart, and Stewart vs. Stewart is certainly going to be far more entertaining on screen

Often, a big bum goes hand-in-hand with big hips. Evolutionarily desirable because because it makes child-birth easier. Or, when it is just a lot of fat on a normal sized pair of hips. That's still evolutionarily desirable. Because the fat is mimicking big hips. And also, women store more body fat in the lower body than men do. So, a fat bum is a secondary sex-trait. Signalling their femininity.

A proper bum claps itself when fueled with enough paper currency. Be sure to use paper currency. You WILL be thrown out of the gentlemen's club for pelting the dancers with coins. Arguing with the bouncers that they were collectible Spanish pieces of eight will only make them angrier. Numismatics is a dying art and the plebeian masses are unappreciative of the great craft of Crœsus himself. I think, dramatically, that the Borg methodically conquering and perverting the D would really hammer home why Picard is borderline suicidally insistent on fighting to certain death over it, it's a thing both he and the viewer have an actual attachment to rather than this brand new ship we've only just met.
No matter how cool it is, I never forget that when they're preparing to abandon ship there's a line that's almost dismissively delivered like "So much for the Enterprise-E, we barely even got to know her" and it's right, we didn't!

I mean you'd have to rework things but I think getting back home in what's left of the D and that being the reason for moving to the E would be a pretty fitting handing over of the torch. Hell, that wouldn't even rule out the whole story of the D's saucer eventually being restored by Geordi over the following decades.
>>
>>217793842
>Cheating with fat is like faking health.
Errol Flynn was presented as the epitome of health and vigour and fitness. He was also ill all while he was a Hollywood star. Secretly sickly. Had such a bad heart he was rejected from joining the military in WWII. But, he was also a notorious pussy-hound. Banged women constantly.

The very good example I chose demonstrates the very good point I'm making. If it works, faking health is just as evolutionarily advantageous as actually being healthy is.
>>
>>217793965
Shit, that's actually a really good angle, anon
>Enterprise D settles old score by leading the fleet in destroying a Cube in a real fight
>Sisko replaced Woodard although your mileage on how good that would be may vary if you don't care for DS9
>cloned Picard body = Locutus of Borg replaces the Queen
>the D lends even more coherence to Picard's suicidal intransigence
Those changes would make FC a 9/10 Trek movie

>>217794037
That's without considering how he was complicit in a false flag. I always keep circling back in my mind to a story arc where what he and Garak did gets exposed. Not a DS9 sequel as such but it's fertile soil for a story arc that's a big geopolitical crisis and, in a certain classic Trek fashion, stuff gets resolved peacefully because the people that did the shady stuff bravely fall on their swords, and each faction gets their pound of flesh (so Garak, Senator Vreenak's brother who exposed it but murdered a lot of people to do so in a rampage, and some old DS9 Starfleet officer who sanctioned Sisko's scheme to deceive the Romulans)

I disagree with throwing Sisko in there. You don't need to shoehorn DS9 into the TNG movies.
>>
>>217794380
Sisko completely doesn't make sense in that role. He's got almost as bad Borg trauma as Picard, why would he be the clearer headed voice of reason? Not to mention, he'd have to spend the entire time subordinate to Picard.
>>
>>217794380
Like I said, your mileage on that will vary. For me it would work, but I agree that it's not necessary and lowest when compared to the D and Locutus
>>
>>217794431
It's like when people say Insurrection should have been about the TNG crew ending the Dominion war. Why? That was DS9's turf, why should TNG steal their thunder?
>>

>>217791879
>Frankly something like 4/5ths of the main cast get mogged hard by the stellar recurring characters

TNGnewfag here and I just finished 'Sins of the Father' and even though it was not as flashy as previous episodes, I enjoyed the character development for Worf, who mostly stays in the background, and more of an insight into Klingons. It had a nice flashback to the episode where Riker served on the Klingon ship and I enjoyed seeing Tony Todd (RIP) as Worf's brother.

The episode did feel a bit disjointed like it was rushed near the end with the council but Worf was the standout, allowing himself to be exiled for the greater good. I love that Picard is a ride or die for his crew and didn't hesitate to defend Worf and killed a Klingon to do this.

Are all Klingon's black as well? Every one I've seen so far is.

Don't they have spinal augments that cure paralysis? Didn't Worf get one of those after a barrel gimped him and he wanted to die?

It's the zesty ones who become theater kids and worm their way into Hollywood.

Pulaski offered to cure Geordi's congenital blindness and he said no.
Besides they're not big on "correcting" things that aren't deadly for eugenicist reasons.

Why do nutrek Vulcans all talk like stilted robots? I saw a clip from SNW and it was so fucking awkward. Vulcans are uptight and proper but they don't talk like lifeless androids. Also Spock in TOS wasn't some aspie, he was sarcastic, witty, and made dry jokes, why does nutrek depict him like some totally socially inept sperg?

he runs a site that was once considered a database of trek knowledge on par with memory alpha
also his approach is embarrassing, you get comical shit like ships that appear in Picard listed as "class and origins unknown" because they're things that appeared in Discovery or SNW and they're arbitrarily 'non-canon' while Picard is

To be fair, Spock is only half vulcan. His father and many other vulcans were quite stoic. That being said, they certainly didnt talk like autist robots.

>His father and many other vulcans were quite stoic. That being said, they certainly didnt talk like autist robots.
Exactly, I don't know if it's the writers, the actors, or both, but nutrek Vulcans don't come off as stoic at all, they just act like a race of socially awkward autists.

He still wore the visor though, obviously curing problems is still a priority.

No, you're missing my tone of mild resignation and projecting the emotions you want me to feel. Hell, I almost want to feel them too - at least it would be something. But it's too late for that. I'm merely noting the change like I might notice a dead bird on the pavement or something. Off to the gym anyway. Star Trek.
>>
>>217796812
Geordi's visor improved upon basic human vision, allowing him to see all kinds of things outside of the visual spectrum.

A wheelchair lets you roll, good luck if there are stairs.

Seems to me that there's room to improve upon a technology from 1600, at least give the cripple some exoskeleton pants or something.

It's disappointing to see supposed trek fans parrot the language of fascists.
>>
>>217797439
Opening, O'Brien falls down a flight of stairs and hits the bottom, groaning.
Kira stands over him and tells the Captain he better get down here to look at this
Then the Sisco falls down the stairs too much to the shock of spectators, cue opening credits

What happens next?
