Holy shit, was not expecting a late silent Duvivier to be this kinectic and fluid, very impressive camerawork that actually fits the story and throws you into the busy rhythm of this girl's new life in the chaotic city. It's very much a montage film, and action one, with the last 15 minutes being truly frenetic. Kino, and highly recommended for fags who think silent films are boring and really everybody here, i think most of you guys would like this. Ending was kind of disappointing though.

And speaking of disappointing endings, also saw Major Dundee and you can tell from the ending that it's a somewhat stitched together film, its conclusion being so anticlimatic and almost an afterthought. The film does get considerably better once it gets into Mexico though and then you can really see the Peckinpah shine through. Not a bad film at all, just uneven.
