You should play Chrono Ark
This area was fucking aids so I dropped this shit here, how far away from the true ending I am?
>>729504363The things that stands out the most from a gameplay perspective is probably the format of how you build a party of 4 individual characters to form something of a traditional RPG party. But in this game your party members form what together amounts to your deck of cards, with each character having their own pool of potential cards that are all unique to them (and if they fall in battle, you'll lose access to said cards until you can get them back). And the characters have also got unique skills that can affect your battles by simply having them in your party. And then you can assign cards as signature moves, which in itself can make a pretty huge difference. So aside from how building a deck that works well, building a party that works well is a thing in itself. Especially when you consider how the game has equipment and items, beyond the usual relics that you usually see in the genre. It's honestly really cool. The story is a real wild ride too, but if you're not into it you can choose when / if ever to actually engage with it, making rather easily ignored. I guess the boss fights deserves a mention too because the bosses are honestly really standout fights for the genre, with unique abilities, skills, phases, and game plans. Cool stuff.
I should and I've been wanting to for some time but I have so much stuff I want to play lately there's just no time.
>>729504763I don't really remember. And it kind of depends on how you play / what you do going forwards. But you're like, potentially 20% away from the ending or something. I think. If I was to ballpark it. There are some conditions you need to meet following the following chapter, but if you've already met most or potentially all the preceding prerequisites, then you would be really close. But if not then it would be a bit further away. But even in the worst case scenario it should be relatively close. I think. Probably.

your favorite vidya character weary from travel, has taken refuge in a local tavernupon entering the character notices a lone knight muttering to himself about something.as he approaches him, the knight turns to the character and says>"GOOD EVENING, YONDER THERE BE ALICE! >>729504653probably because when devs say "we lost the original source code" they're full of shit and lying.that and it uses all the same assets as the PS2 game with some up-resed textures.the coding clearly wasn't done from scratch either because all the oddities and glitches got ported over. So they obviously had the old code intact. they didn't even fix some glitches that should have been fixed.

Spirebros help me outIf I block too much the enemies get overpowered and destroy meIf I focus on damage too much then I have no blocking availableIf I go balanced then I can't get a good deck synergy goingHow the fuck do I not die?
>>729501865For me the easiest is Silent with poison build. All you need to focus on is poison and block.Get noxious fumes, deadly poison, bouncing flask and Catalyst.Catalyst is the key to the build. It triples the poison applied to an enemy. Just in the first turn you can get bouncing flask (12 poison) and then triple it, dealing 36 damage every turn and destroying anything. If used later it can easily ramp up to 100+ dmg per turn. And then focus on nothing but block and dexterity (increases block). Footwork is awesome. If you get the ? room that upgrades all your starting cards, you won the game. Discard all your attack cards. The only danger is the few enemies that increase in strengh with time, such as the time nigga and the raging elite red boi.
>>729505434But you guys said to take every elite because the rewards are better
>>729505215Silent isn't my strongest so I won't talk super specifics because I'm not the best at it. Let me guide you with some general knowledge since you seem to be new at the game. One of the first things you should learn is how all the act 1 bosses function and how all the act 1 elites function so you can build a proper deck to counter them. Doing so will let you acknolwedge good card picks so you can have smoother acts with more relics and better cards. There's 3 elites.>gremlin nob (the red dude), you essentially have 3 turns to kill him. On the first turn he does nothing, ont he second turn he does a small attack, on the third and fourth turns he does a fuckhuge attack that will leave you half dead. >lagavulin (the cone shaped bug) will be sleeping for 3 turns and then wake up, and after that it will hit hard for two turns then debuff your atk and def ont he third turn, repeating until each of you die>the three doritos, the two on the sides will fill your deck with shit cards and the one in the middle will attack. Then the one on the sides will attack and the middle one will fill your deck with shit. They change every turn constantly filling your deck with shit and attacking. They are 3 targets as opposed to one.Things to keep in mind.>lagavulin has a ton of HP followed by gremlin nob followed by the three doritos>if you have a deck that takes too long to kill you'll eventually be decimated, especially if you only have small multihit attacks and can't deal enough damage quickly enough against lagavulin as your str will decrease>cards that are considered good in this game are either extremely synergistic, or ones that offer "burst" damge or "burst" blocking in a vacuum (i.e cards that grant you a lot of each out of nowhere without comboing, for instance something as simple as leg sweep is a really strong card for silent>the strongest action you can take on events is "transform a card" at first (while you don't have your deck figured out) then removing
>>729505829Donu and deca can really fuck you up if you don't have enough draw/a deck too big. The poison reset of the chosen one can also be annoying. Poison never feels like a really good build for bosses
>>729505861hard normal fights are unironically often worse than elites for a shit reward. not contradictory.

Good evening /v/, welcome to the continuation of our screenshot LP of "4.6 Billion Year Story: The Theory of Evolution". If you weren't here for the impromptu launch of this let's play you can catch up here >>729409736>What is this game?A primitive, but soulful DQ-like JRPG from the PC-98 era with a strange, sometimes funny, sometimes depressing plot that spans billions of years. It was developed by Almanic Corporation and published by none other than Enix. You may be more familiar with the later SNES re-imagining of this game called E.V.O. Search For Eden. In both games, you play as la creatura and strive to evolve from a fish all the way up to a sapient humanoid, while also traveling the planet and helping your wife Gaia remove any obstacles to evolution's progress across the eons. Unlike the SNES version, where you build your creature by spending points to buy different body parts, the original PC version allows the player to distribute points to 4 main attributes which give you entirely new body plans once a threshold has been met.To download the translation patch yourself or view the translated manual, get it here - https://46okumen.com/projects/e-v-o-the-theory-of-evolution/We continue our quest to take Gaia's hand in marriage on disc 3, where we have entered the Triassic period and acquired the form of one of the earliest known dinosaurs. Our goal is to visit the Fountain of Evolution in order to enter the next stage of life, but we have been warned that the fountain is full of monsters. It is also buried deep inside a water maze that drains our HP every time we take step.If you see this thread and plan to stay don't forget to give a bump :)

>>729498219Seconded
>>729493261its completionist autism. collecting all of them can feel like an autistic, tedious chore. at the same time, people that dont care so much to complete, are barely required to play much of the game at all. additionally, the common comparison is made to older mario games, where you had to traverse the level/obstacles and get a much more limited/singular reward, so each reward "felt" more impactful/meaningful, but the moons just end up feeling like cheap trinkets. like because they are so numerous and generally easy to acquire, they arent "worth" as much as something more "rare". personally, i found it extremely fun and fulfilling to explore and interact with every nook and cranny of every level. i did exactly that in mario 64 and sunshine, but i did it for pure self fulfillment/fun. it was nice being actually rewarded for weird/obscure shit.
