Here's my Mega Man discussion: having any hope for good things to happen makes no sense given how hard they have burned his fields and salted the earth over a long time. They act like they hate Mega Man for years and then this? It's going to turn out to be some further humiliation. The saddest part being that probably a couple devs will be passionate about it and unaware that they are being sent out to die unsupported for the sake of profitable layoffs.

Oblivion is very underrated when it comes to magic. Pure destruction magic is not great, but it has such an amazing utility everywhere else. Water walking, feather, paralysis, motherfucking chameleon, frenzy/calm, summons, all the good stuff. My favorite moment was "assassinating" the guy in a remote tavern during Dark Brotherhood's quest line by casting frenzy on the nearby imperial guardsman.
I really want more hard light tech based magic in video games. The kind of magic that lets programs from TRON exist in real life and allows their light cycles and recognizers and light ribbons to work. The kind that lets the forerunners in HALO design hard light robots that can just make weapons out of nothing. It all has a very nice aesthetic that is a hard contrast to the natural feeling that other magic systems always use

This is why nobody likes SMT. The games usually have the best turn-based combat of any game but that alone is not enough to make up for the usual lack of story and characters. That's why Persona took over and left SMT behind.
