I don't think I've ever had a more appropriate gif for a thread like this.
Interviewer: Thank you for joining us. Today, I would like to ask you about the timeline leading up to your entry into the company around 1971, and perhaps a little while after that. First, just to confirm: you were born in Hokkaido in 1950. Could you look back on your childhood for us? Where in Hokkaido were you born?Satoh: I was born in a coal-mining town called Ashibetsu, Hokkaido. I have a younger sister who is four years younger than me, and a younger brother who is two years younger than her. We were a family of five. I was the eldest son. Later, when I asked why they named me "Hideki," my father said, "Hideki Yukawa won the Nobel Prize, so we decided to share in his luck." I suspect he just found it tedious to think of a name (laughs). My name is Hideki, my sister is Yoshiko (written with the characters for "good" or "like"), and since I was Hideki, my brother became Naoki. I feel like our names were chosen rather haphazardly (laughs). Both of my parents have passed away, so I can't ask them for the real reasons now.I was born in Ashibetsu, but we moved around quite a lot after that, although we stayed within the Sorachi District. For better or worse, my father was a bit unique. To put it positively, he was very "Americanized"—if someone recognized his abilities and skills, he believed in moving to improve his career. Because of that, after I was born in Ashibetsu, we moved to Nokanan, near Furano.
Satoh: I don't think we did anything for birthdays. We really had no money.Interviewer: That was normal for the time?Satoh: Yes, especially in rural Hokkaido. In Shimanoshita, there were maybe 1,000 people. We did have one big event: the Emperor's train passed through. The Showa Emperor was traveling to Furano. The train didn't stop at our station, but all the schoolchildren lined up to wave as it passed. Later, my father took us to Furano to stand outside the hotel where the Emperor was staying, just to be part of the excitement.Interviewer: Was it a steam locomotive with a Japanese flag?Satoh: I think so. At that time... I wonder how many schoolchildren were at that elementary school back then? At most, maybe 50 or 60 students in total? So that would mean about 10 students per gradeere decorations on it.
skipping junior high and college and he was hired at sega:Satoh: Around late March, I met up with friends who were all talking about their new jobs at companies like Trio, Fujitsu, or Casio. I realized I was the only one without a job.I went to my school on March 25th or 26th. The career counselor scolded me: "You said you weren't going to get a job!" He offered to introduce me to a company called Fujisoku that made switches. I said, "Switches sound boring." He got angry and told me to go find a job myself in the reference room.I went to the reference room and saw a brochure for Tomy. I liked plastic models, so I thought a toy company would be interesting. I called them, but they said applications were closed. It was still March, so I was shocked. Years later, I told Mr. Tomiyama (President of Tomy) this story, and he was surprised that they had rejected someone just because it was March.College Years: Visiting Sega DirectlySatoh: I looked for another company and found Sega. They weren't making toys, but they made slot machines and jukeboxes. Being a foreign-owned company, they had Saturdays and Sundays off, and the starting salary was good (32,000 yen). The location was Otorii, very close to my school in Samezu.I decided to just go there directly. It was past March 25th, so HR was done with recruiting. However, the HR section manager happened to be a graduate of Tokyo Metropolitan University (part of the same system as my college). He was bored, so he showed me around. I cheekily asked for a tour.
He showed me the factory and the jukebox department. Sega dominated the jukebox market then. Famous singers would visit to ask for their records to be included. I saw Keiko Fuji walk by. He showed me the library with over 100,000 records. Then he showed me the R&D department and the Production Technology department. He asked what I thought. I said, "I'd join if it's R&D or Production Technology. I don't want to work in the factory." Lucky for me, R&D was looking for three people but had only found two. There was one vacancy. I was sent to interview with the R&D manager immediately.Interviewer: A walk-in interview? That is amazing.Satoh: We talked about lasers or something—I just bluffed my way through. He warned me that I would start by doing manual labor like cutting metal and wood. I said I loved making plastic models, so that was fine. I was hired. The HR manager asked for my transcript and health check, but I had nothing with me. I had to rush to get them prepared before April.I entered Sega purely on luck and bluffing. If there had been a formal exam, I never would have passed.

Don't care, can I skip cutscenes in the new patch or not? That's literally all that matters to me about Genshin.
Why cant we get more RTS like the goat?
>>729499010it's solidly ok. it uses soulstorm as a base which means it comes with air vehicles and the 2 shitty factions from soulstorm along with the balance changes from dc to ss. luckily, theyve added a setting to let you turn off air vehicles in the months after release, but it still keeps ss balance.the improved pathfinding they claim is simply from making collision boxes smaller which causes units to more easily morph into one giant blob which can be good or bad depending on the situation, but it just doesnt look as nice. they've run various bugfixes since it came out, but i couldnt tell you specifics. if you tried to run dc mods in it when it first came out, it'd crash a lot, but i heard they fixed it but i couldnt vouch for it since i refunded it since it didnt work with the mod i wanted.
RTS is an antiquated genre. General audiences prefer to be down on the ground, in the middle of the action, rather than an orbital view literally micromanaging entire outposts and patrols. Alternatively, split combat and building into separate segments to reduce overhead.

Why does the video game industry not produce stars the way that film, music, etc. do?
>>729498563Attributing works to a single person is necessary to prevent the facade of Noosphere Monopoly Enterprise from being torn apart. Copy rights, patents and trademarks are rarely so cut and dry as they need to be for the government to be able to insist on granting a Noosphere Monopoly to them for the sheer length of time that copyright (practically indefinite), patents (20 years) and trademarks (indefinite) demand.
>>729498435If that's your bar for a star, then the video game industry already has one no-ass having narcissistic dumb bitch whose lyrical skills are bottom of the barrel generic teenage vomit and compositions suck shit and bore even EVE fans to death. Frosk from G4.
>>729498557 You’re not wrong, being handsome and funny definitely gets you in the door-but rich girls usually hang out in spots where money filters the attendance. Think charity galas, yacht clubs, high-end art exhibits, alumni events at pricey universities, niche parties in expensive neighborhoods, etc. If you're serious, you’ve gotta start lurking where the trust fund crowd vibes. Also, make sure your Instagram doesn’t scream “coomer with a PS5,” that’s kryptonite to heiress types.
video game is the place where stars from music, film, etc go to after their have a career that is good enough
put my head between those goddess thighs and just fucking execute me
Anyone who doesn't like this game is an idiot.Fun reminder: It sold more than the sloppy shop Dead Space remake which was also not considered a success, so if you want to go "Dead Space good, Callisto Protocol bad", that doesn't fly here bucko.
>>729499849I'm tired of you, cheevo contrarian.
>>729499849It's in my backlog, I thought it looked better than what everyone was saying, especially after all the updates.I don't know many spoilers but I do know that the bosses are apparently a let down in this game, but Dead Space didn't have good or memorable bosses either. I'm not saying that's an excuse but people act as if Dead Space is something truly special, but I've always felt like it was just decent, it's fun, but it's no RE4.
>>729499849your new year's resolution should be to stop making the same thread over and over and over again
>>729500048I think they reuse a boss one too many times, but the Final Transmission DLC's final boss made up for it.
>>729500048It is a perfectly decent game.Honestly, I found it a lot more fun beating shit to death in Callisto Protocol than I did shooting limbs off in Dead Space. But everything else about the game is not as good as Dead Space.
why has such kino been forgotten?
>>729499038it's really sad that so many gamers will pick the safe options. there;s so many unique experiences in the gaming medium, and those should be played by more people. im so sick of people wanting new games to play but shunning any game that isnt whats popular or familliar.
>>729497530>The Lost Child>switch game>already discontinuedIs it worth buying? I don't think it will get more profitable
>>729497281because the game is shit
>>729497281Is reading the bible just as cool as this game?
>>729499357It's not sad, just unfortunately reality. Popular games get so beloved in the first place because they do appeal to a lot of people, naturally that means games that have a niche target audience aren't going to get as much attention. A game like El Shaddai can never get the same level of recognition no matter what stars align. The last sentence is just about retards who probably don't even know why they like the games that they do.>>729499841You can't buy The Lost Child anymore. Dragami bought the publishing rights for it and a few other titles, but hasn't yet done anything with them other than Demon Gaze Extra. It's currently delisted from stores, so just pirate if you can find it.

if garudamon can be a girl then so can his best buddy leomon
>>729498419>don't explore the available Digimon until the game is over and grind out everything at once in endgameI mean if that's what you want to do that's fine, but waiting until the game is over to grind out every available Digimon at once sounds so monumentally unfun I can't believe you're actually recommending it. I vastly prefer having had the experience of discovering the available roster as I've played and that led to lots of grinding. I know it's not necessary. It's just the way I want to play. I like having cool and powerful shit and weighing all my available options. If I get overpowered in the process, that's a bonus. My lament is that with all my effort I missed something that could have made my effort more efficient and rewarding. That doesn't mean I strive only for the maximum efficiency of post-game grind. It's about the journey, and I just realized I've had a rock in my shoe the whole time.
>>729499067You're the one lamenting wasted time grinding inefficiently when you didn't even need to grind and could have just looked it up like you did afterwards anyway, recommending somebody just enjoy the game naturally with the intended balance and then leave the grinding fun to when you actually need it in postgame and Mega+ difficulty is not ridiculous. Anyway, I hope you got all the rocks out of your shoes.
