There's not a massive disparity between basic attacks outside of PVP, and you'd be hard pressed to find an Ash of War that isn't at least good. Every single build archetype has strong weapons or spells too. Ofcourse there are outliers, but obviously stuff like the Polearm of the Bud which is shit because of animations and Basic Dagger or Torchpole aren't ever going to be up to par.
